Is HTML DB 10g the same as Apex 3?

Hi
We updgraded our database from 9i to 10g, and I was going through the "New Features" documentation. For my surprise, there is a section there called "Oracle HTML DB Improvements".
I thought that APEX used to be called HTML DB and both were in fact the same product... but now it seems to me that they are two separate products. Or are they?
Sorry for this silly question, but can anyone explain to me the relationship between Apex and HTML DB?

there is a big difference however: htlmdb uses htmldb_admin and htmldb as users, apex uses apex and apex_admin as users. but - fortunately - oracle created a situation you can use both htmldb ad apex (as users) in apex.
I don't know what you are saying here. There is no big difference in how user accounts work between earlier and later versions of the product and everything is backward compatible.
by the way : before htmldb is was webdb (not flows).
Before the name "HTML DB", the name "Flows" was used. Web DB might be regarded as a precursor to all of it but that was a distinctly separate project.

Change the HTML Report format the same as TestStand 2010 SP1 in TestStand 2012

I have a lot of test steps (~10K) that gets executed and the indentations on HTML report format in TestStand 2012 gets too deep. I have to slide the horizontal bar to the right to see the report when l'm in the middle. I did not have this issue in TestStand 2010 SP1.
Is ther a way to change the HTML Report format (style) the same as TestStand 2010 SP1 in TestStand 2012?

We are currently investigating this issue. In order to help us with the investigation could you post a sequence file and configuration that reproduce the problem? The configuration file is located in C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\TestStand 2012\Cfg\ModelPlugins\ResultProcessing.cfg for Windows Vista / Windows 7 or you can use the Cfg link in the TestStand 2012 installation directory.
You can use the Legacy Model Switcher (included in TestStand 2012) to use the legacy models instead of the new models. The legacy models are more backward compatible, however, this also means that you will not be able to use the improvements in the new models (for example, the new plug-in architecture). If this is acceptable then you can use the legacy model switcher to switch to the legacy models. The Legacy Model Switcher is located in the Start Menu under Programs->National Instruments->TestStand 2012->Tools->Compatibility. Lightroom Flash and HTML galleries (at the same time)

I cannot find any reference to such a thing but it would be great if when creating a Lightroom Flash gallery that there was the option of simultaneously creating a HTML gallery too which references the same image folder content (choice of large, medium or small) as I have situations where clients machines or bandwidth prohibits browsing on Flash galleries and where it would be good having the HTML option.

Try this:
*Multicast Rate / Transmit Power*
Launch Airport Utility.
Select your Time Capsule on the left.
Click "Manual Setup".
Select "Airport" from the toolbar at the top.
Click the "Wireless" tab.
Click the "Wireless Options..." button.
Check the setting for "Multicast Rate".
This setting controls the range at which you allow devices to access your network. Lower is better if you want access throughout the house. But this setting won't improve speed. Tesserax has a nice explanation of this setting in the following quote:

Next, verify that your "Transmit Power: is set to 100%.

Finally, ensure that "Interference Robustness" is checked (For certain network configurations this setting will say "Use Wide Channels. Verify that it is checked nonetheless.)
Help Doc states: +"You may experience network performance problems if a microwave oven or other source of interference is used frequently near your base station or Time Capsule. To help minimize interference, turn on interference robustness."+

Open HTML pages in the same Browser

HI All,
I have a GUI with Help buttons which are required to open Help files in the default browser.
Now i am able to acheive this using Runtime.getRuntime().exec("cmd /c start iexplore url")
But the problem here is everytime the user clicks on the help buttons on various screens of the UI it opens a new browser instance where as i want all the help files to open in the same browser window.
How do i acieve this?
Also i tried using rundll32 url.dll, FileProtocolHandler url... the problem with this command is it doesnt recognize the querystring part of the url.
For ex : http://forum.java.sun.com/post.jsp?forum=31&skldfsdkfj
here the cmd only recognizes until http://forum.java.sun.com/post.jsp and the rest of the url is truncated when the browser opens. Do i need to escape "?" in my java application itself

all browsers ask you when you install them if you want that one to be the default one.
So yes, start or run32dll.exe can be used to launch the default browser.
No, you can't control which window to show it in, with the possible exception of Mozilla (or a derivitive (sp?)) might have some command-line options to do that. But you can't know that it's a Mozilla browser that will run with start or run32dll.exe.
Your other choice would be: search the file system for browser, or just ask the user for the path to the browser's exe in a preferences dialog or something.

Controlling sound of separate html files within the same html page.

I need to allow users to preview audio files for purchasing. I have CF pages that return records form a SQL database. Each record contains the same swf file however, each swf file points to a different mp3 for previews of different audio examples. So far, everything is working fine. My problem is that I need to be able to stop the sound from one swf when I click to play a second swf. The only solutions I see in Flash forums deal with loaded swf files. These are not loaded files they are separate files within a page. The question is: How do control one swf from another swf in the same page. The following items have not worked:
soundChannel.stop();,
soundMixer.stopAll()
I think my solution may be to use ExternalInterface but I am not sure where to begin with this. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

How do I "Put" multiple html files at the same time?

I did a global find and replace for a broken link. But I don't see how to "publish" all the changed pages using the "Put" command?

Does a wrapper html file need to be in the same directory? Need advice

I'm doing some RnD experiments for an upcoming project and I would like to use Edge.
What I'm trying to do is load 2 different compsites in a wrapper.html file that is level above the compsites. For instance my setup is
project/wrapper.html
project/product1/product1.html
project/product2/product2.html
In my wrapper file I have this, but this doesn't work

But when I move the wrapper.html file into the same directory as product1 and modify .js path and it loads fine? So my question is how do people normally load multiple compsites that resided in a different directory? What is the best method for accomplishing this? You will need to update the new loction for even the product1_edge.js file and the product1_edgeActions.js file in the product1_edgePreload.js file.
Open up the product1.edgePreload.js file.
Search for 'aloader'.
Under this there should be a ' load: "product1_edge.js" ' change it to ' load: "product1/product1_edge.js" '
and do the same for product1_edgeActions.js file too.
Bascially when you update the location of the edge preload file you will have to update the location of the animate assets like the edge file,edge actions,images etc.All these file locations work relative to the html file loading them.

How to pass the value of the form element "SR ID" on the URL in Apex

In my application we have a text item as "SR Number", for that filed they want below scenerio to be work around, could some one help me for the below request.
Check the incoming request for a passed parameter and set it to a value using something like this Request.querystring(“p_t10”). If nothing is passed the form is set up with a blank in the SR ID field, if a value was passed you populate the field, perhaps the log-in page can pick-up the parameter and store it in the session to later be put on the form after successful log-in.

Upload more than one files at the same time

Hi people!
I'm having serious problems with struts. I have a list of contacts in which I can upload a file per person. The problem is that I have an unique form and I want to upload all the html:file at the same time. Is there any way of doing that? The problem is that I can't retrieve the values in the actionForm as FormFile[ ] as the other fields.
I need help urgently!!

I'm not sure uploading several files at once is possible. I have yet to see anything like that.

Can't create multiple dependent LOVs from the same bind variable

Hi all,
I'm having difficulty creating multiple dependent LOVs from queries based on the same bind variable in my JSF application (JDev 10.1.3.1). Basically I have a static LOV in a af:selectOneChoice component from which users select a value which then becomes the bind variable value for two separate queries that generate two different dependent LOV. Having developed the code along the lines of Steve Muench 's blog (http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/2006/04/03.html#a685), the first dependent LOV works really well. The first dynamic LOV gets refreshed whenever the list from the static LOV changes, and I can execute other queries based on the values selected.
The problem arises when I want to create the second dynamic/dependent LOV that has the same bind variable based on the same selected value from the static LOV. Here I would also like the functionality whereby the second dynamic LOV is also refreshed after the selected value in the static LOV changes. Thinking that all I had to do was replicate the methodology used in creating the first dependent LOV, I created the second iterator, invokeAction and other binding components in the PageDef. The executable section now looks like the following:

The surprising thing is that this duplicating behaviour applies to all ADF components listed after the first dynamic LOV in the *.jspx source. For example, I have a <af:outputText="Test Text"/> component created after the first dynamic LOV. Each time the value in the static LOV changes, a duplicate HTML component is created. This also applies to the 'related' second dynamic LOV which is bound to a af:selectOneChoice component - multiple dropdown lists are created. I've checked with the browser's Page Source and there are actually multiple html components being generated with their own unique ADF-generated IDs. I've tried all different options for the Referesh and RefreshCondition attibutes in the second invokeAction element but nothing seems to eliminate this issue.
Any suggestions about how I might create multiple dependent LOVs from the same bind variable that get refreshed when the selected value changes would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all,
Just updating the thread on how I've overcome this issue. As it stood the manner in which I was trying to solve my use case, as described above, was creating an absolute mess. Then with a blank sheet of paper I quickly realised that a much simpler solution would be to create a whole series of master-detail VOs and build my components around them. Thankfully I haven't had any issues going down this path as yet.

Designer 6i and 10g on the same machine?

I have Designer 6i and corresponding repository on my machine.
The problem with 6i I can't save diagramm in HTML format
I believe I can save in HTML format in 10g or other?
Can I install on the same machine 10g designer?
should I configure new repository?

As for running 6i and 10g on the same machine, yes you can do it. You just have to install them in separate Oracle Homes, and be careful when you tell them which version of EXP and IMP to use. There is one MAJOR caveat, however. They cannot use the same Designer Repository - 6i client won't talk to a 10g repository and 10g client won't talk to a 6i repository. You can upgrade a 6i repository to 10g with the RAU, but take a backup before you do - the only way to go back is to restore your backup. Besides, I think that if you upgrade to the last supported version of Designer 6i (you should be able to get it from MetaLink) you will get the Publish Diagrams utility.
Frankly, my opinion is that there is only one reason to stay on 6i - if you need to generate and support 6i client/server Oracle Forms. If you don't use Oracle Forms, or if you have moved on to Web Forms with the middle tier Forms Server, I'd recommend an upgrade to Designer 10g and Developer 10g.

Apex mixes applications working with two windows at the same time

Hi all, while developing in Apex I have found the following problem:
Working with two different applications at the same time, the browser goes from one to another indistinctly.
To reproduce the problem:
1. Open the same application builder in two different Firefox windows
2. Open a different application in each window (In my case: application 103 in window1 and application 105 in window2)
3. Go to shared components in both windows (window1 first)
- window1 breadcrumbs show: Home > Application Builder > Application 103 > Shared Components
- window2 breadcrumbs show: Home > Application Builder > Application 105 > Shared Components
4. Click in any shared component in window1 (Templates, Authentication Schemes...)
- window1 breadcrumbs show: Home > Application Builder > Application *105* > Shared Components > Templates (Application 105 instead of 103)
Is it a bug? I have read the known issues [[Here]|http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/downloads/apex402knownissues-189793.html] but it does not appear.

If you tried opening up two pages in the same application each of which modifies the same page items, you would notice the same issue.
This is because, in a session there is only one set of values for page items(or application items) and every parallel call to the same page would update the same bind variables.
Now the development environment or Apex Builder is also an apex application , and when try and open up the pages as you mentioned, they both access the same Application Builder page and sets/resets any existing values for those variables(and maybe cookies too if they are being used) , hence the 'mixing up'.
If that didn't convince you, check the URL of both the pages when you load them, they should show the same page number ( f?p=APP_ID:PAGE_NUMBER syntax). Imagine if the same approach was done with one of your application pages, say an edit form opened from a report with multiple records in multiple tabs like what happened with this case: {message:id=9346663}
So this really isn't a bug in a way, because that is how session states in apex is/was maintained. Ofcourse if they used another kind of development platform for building pages, it may have been avoided, but thats an altogether different point in itself.
