Is ibooks available for my macbook?

Is iBooks available for my MacBook?  It seems silly that I can read books on my iPhone and iPad but not my macbook.

No.  Normally on every purchase page in the iBookstore you should see a Requirements section will tells you that an iOS device is required.
Nonetheless you may be able to to read something you get from the iBookstore on your MacBook if it does not have DRM, which is determined by the publisher.  Most free books don't have DRM, and a few paid books (those by O'Reilly for example) also do not have it.  These can be read with an epub reader app like Calibre, Adobe Digital Editions, and others you can find in the app store.
For most paid books, to read them on your MacBook you should get them from one of the other stores, like Kindle, Nook, Kobo, Googlebooks, or Sony, and read them with the ereader apps provided by those stores.

  • What are the best graphics available for the Macbook Pro 13"

I am 13 years old and I am looking at a Macbook Pro.
I am between the 15" and 13". The only thing stopping me from going straight to the 13" is the graphics. I hear they aren't that good. Is there anyway to get the graphics from the 15" and 17" or just any graphics that are better than the 13" ones"?
I will be using it mainly for movies and games, but i am not a huge gamer and I dont expext the very best.

    Thanks
But the reason i like the 13" better is because i find the 15" to big for my liking.
Are the graphics that bad? Will i notice it?

  • Is AirPlay available for 2008 MacBook?

Can someone please confirm whether AirPlay is even a possibility for my mac? I have a 2008 or 09 MacBook. Software is OSX 10.9.4 with Mavericks downloaded last night. No AirPlay icon is visible, but there never was previously either (I think). Next question, if the answer to this is "no", would something like Air Parrot do the job? Or am I still too outdated. An Apple rep assured me that I would have it once I downloaded Mavericks, but it doesn't turn up in the search.

2011 or newer Macs have this capability only.
You could try Airparrot. I myself have found it sluggish on my 2009 MBP.

  • Is there a 12 volt adaptor available for the MacBook

Has anyone looked into this? I'm unable to find anything on the Apple web site and no one I've spoken with seems to know...
Alternatively, if there isn't a 12 volt adaptor available, would I need to use a pure sine wave or modified sine wave inverter when I'm not near a power outlet to recharge the battery?

I don't believe there is a direct one. The standard adapter has a 16.5 V output when loaded.
I've heard claims that the (lighter style) plug in the official Apple MagSafe airline adapter may work with nominal 12 V power supplies as long as the source voltage is a typical 14.4 V from the alternator or a freshly charged car battery. The EmPower ports used by airlines are supposed to have a 15 V output. However - this won't charge the battery even if it does work. It only powers the computer as long as there's a reasonable battery charge.

  • How to make iBooks available in iBookstore for Sri Lanka and India?

Does anyone know how to make iBooks available for purchase in iBookstore for Sri Lanka and India?  I have tried going through iTunes Connect to add regions, but it doesn't give me the option to add any more.  Thanks

Consult this list to see whether paid books are available in those countries:

If not, you have to use another store, like Kindle, Nook, Kobo, Googlebooks, or Sony.

  • Can I make iBook available to buyers of print edition for free?

I am the publisher of an educational guide that gives careers advice to school leavers. Until now this has been produced in print format only and sent out to subscribing school and colleges.
I would now like to make the publication available in iBook format in addition to the print edition.
My proposed business model is to:
    1. Publish print product and sell to subscribers AND
    2. Publish iBook and sell through the iBookstore AND
    3. Make copies of the iBook available for free via my own website to people who have bought the print edition. Can I password protect the free version so that only subscribers can gain access?
The print edition contains display advertising which I understand I will have to remove from the iBook. Am I allowed to keep links to sponsoring organisations and to educational establishments/training providers and employers that have paid to be included in a directory listing at the back of the publication?
Thanks for any clarification you can give.

"Mozilla" isn't a "search engine" - it makes programs that use the internet. Google, Bing, and Yahoo are search engines, among others.
Firefox, Chrome, IE, and Safari are web browsers.
As far as http://www.darimulutkemulut.com goes, takes forever to even start loading in North America and never loads completely enough for me to see any content at all.
That domain doesn't seem to have an IP address assigned to it.

  • Largest hard drive available for MacBook?

Just saw the preview for Leopard - very excited about eventually buying it, but I'm wondering if my 80 gb hard drive will be large enough to take full advantage of its features while leaving space for my other stuff. (For the record, I have 35 gb available now.) Am I just being paranoid - and if I'm not, what's the largest hard drive (in storage space, of course) available for the MacBook at this time?

    david-
as far as i know, 160GB (hitachi travelstar). here is
    the link:
    http://eshop.macsales.com/MyOWC/Upgrades.cfm?Model=248
    &Type=Data%20Storage&TI=2021
no, you are not being paranoid. it doesn't matter if
it is the leopard or a new tom cruise screen saver.
eventhough 35GB is still alot of space (my dell i am
currently using has only 18GB total and i have a few
hundred megabytes left!), you'll eventually need a
bigger storage a year or so down the road.
how about an external hard drive?
    best luck!
An external hard drive for nearly full-time use with a laptop would be cumbersome at best, even if it were small, it would still take up one USB port most of the time. I'd rather swap out now or soon than that. Thanks for the input.

  • How do I identify a replacement battery for my Macbook 13"

I am looking on how to identify what replacement batteries might be available for my MacBook. Can someone help. Current battery is 3779 mAh, 12330 volts      ( mV) DC. I am lokoing to increase capacity but want to find something that fits.
    Thanks
    Jim

The model 6,1 Late 2009 and the model 7,1 Mid 2010 A1342 use an A1331 battery. You can replace it yourself or have Apple do it for you for $129. If you need it quickly make sure you order it from a U. S. seller. Orders from China can take two or three weeks.

Here's installation instructions. You'll need a Tri Wing Y1 screwdriver in addition to the usual #00 Phillips screwdriver.

The application called VirusScan that comes preloaded on the macbook will no longer open, claiming that it is corrupt and that I must reinstall it.  After looking in the app store it does not appear that said application is available for re-downloading. Is there a special, non-app store place where I am to go for this?
Also, I installed MacKeeper about two-three months ago and am questioning its performance. Looking for input as to whether or not this application helps or hinders my system.

I'll back up Csound on the MacKeeper thing.  In fact, I actually wrote the following about it:
    http://www.reedcorner.net/news.php/?p=245
Remove is ASAP.  Do not use the provided uninstalled, as there are widespread reports of pop-ups advertising MacKeeper on your system after incompletely removing it.  Try this:
    http://applehelpwriter.com/2011/09/21/how-to-uninstall-mackeeper-malware/
As for VirusScan, Barney is right on the money that it does not come preinstalled on any Mac shipped new from Apple.  However you have gotten it, your best bet is removing it.  See my Mac Malware Guide for more information that will help you understand and avoid Mac malware without relying on anti-virus software.

  • I am trying to install windows 7 on my macbook pro 13", when i run bootcamp it tells me that there is not a windows support software available for my computer. Where can i get the windows support software for my macbook?

I am trying to install windows 7 on my macbook pro 13", when i run bootcamp it tells me that there is not a windows support software available for my computer. Where can i get the windows support software for my macbook?

Apple only supports Windows on certain hardware.
    http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/
Apple provides their framework for Windows to run on a Mac, a piece of software called a Hybrid MBR that bridges the gap between how Windows reads the drive partition table (MBR) and EFI/GUID partition table that Mac's use.
It doesn't mean Windows can't run on your Mac, a third party solution called rEFIt will also bridge the gap and allow booting of more that just Windows, Linux as well for a triple booting computer.
Your hardware has to meet the other requirements the second and third operating system needs as as being able to install drivers that will work for your hardware, especially the fans or they will run loud and fast by default.
    http://refit.sourceforge.net/
This above is a advanced procedure which requires knowledge how computers and various operating systems, drive formats and so forth work.
I even admit I don't know everything myself, but I experiment on a separate piece of Mac hardware (out of warranty/AppleCare) designed for this purpose so in case something screws up I'm not taking down my only machine and can use the other to get online and find solutions.
There is a very high potential for losing your data if your using advanced/non-Apple methods to install Windows on your only Mac where Apple doesn't support it. Also one shouldn't be doing this on Mac hardware that is under AppleCare or warranty as it might be voided. Proceed at your own risk and education.
