Is iMessage still free even If you text someone over seas?

Right my girlfriend is about to go on holiday for 2 weeks abroad and I was waundering if it will be still free if I use iMessage to text her still. thanks :)

To use 3G overseas it might cost depending on Cellular network ,since she on roaming and depending on the tieup between Network available in the overseas and home network, will charge your accordling.
To reduce your roaming cost buy a pepaid local number provided by cellular network for two weeks with 3g enable and chat as much as you can.

  • Does texting on imessage through free wifi charge you if you don't have a text messaging or data plan?

Ok so I just got a new iphone 4s that's factory unlocked & I was wondering if you texted someone through imessage on wifi, will that charge you any money?
If the person doesn't have imessage? And if they do? Because I don't have a text messaging or data plan.

If you are using wifi, you are not using a data plan. You will not be charged.
And you cannot send SMS over wifi. You can only send iMessages (to people with Macs/iDevices and iMessage enabled).

    Messages is the app.
iMessage is type of message that goes over wifi or cell data.
Open the Messages app and add a phone number or appleID, the line to enter you message will display Text Message (and a green Send button) or iMessage (and a blue Send button).
If it's a text message (green) it will be sent as SMS and you will be charged, even if you are on wifi.
If it's an iMessage (blue) and you are on wifi, it will be sent over wifi (no charge).
If it's an iMessage (blue) and you are NOT on wifi, it will be sent over cell data or sent as an SMS.

  • When you text someone from imessage and it says delivered..does this mean that the other person received the message already through their ipod and a notification pops out?

im just wondering if the person im texting using imessage actually received my message when it says delivered..doesnt mean they read it but does it mean it applies the fact they can c the msg alrd like their ipod touch has received the msg and can b seen tru notification as well

A red check means the text wasn't sent (maybe the number has been changed, they have texts blocked, there was a network problem).

  • When a pop up appers on firefox advertising free Ipods and you check on it and you pick everything they ask for and you receive a confermation # how do you get

A pop up came on firefox about winning a free Ipod you had to buy 2 gold 2 silver 4 platium which I did. I was sent a reward confirmed # nGwHN8a3NWSmCRYj2bpN but I never received the Ipod. Why do you let this kind of thing pop up on your site, if they are not really going to give you the thing they say they will for free, even though you have to buy things. Is this just a scam to get extra money?, from people that use Mozilla?. across the bottom of my print out reads the following http://spath2.path-tracker.com/init?src_key=c4u234p2z223q254y224u2v2f476446494r2 I hope this helps you to find out who it is and make them honor their offer and send me the Ipod Thank you Paulette Gurny

hello, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by malware on your pc. please go to ''firefox > addons > extensions'' & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].

  • Is iMessage free if you text between iPhones using AT

Confused on a few things.  I have the iPhone 4 with 3G.  I don't use my phone all that much...use iMessage approx. 3x/week, and I listen to iHeart Radio at home on wifi.  This is my issue:  I got a notice that I was over my data usage and will be billed $15.  My questions are...is iMessage free when you text between iPhones on AT&T?  Does IHeart Radio use data?  I feel that I might have my settings wrong because my sister says she uses iMessage all e time and NEVER goes over her data.   How can I check my data usage so I don't go over again?  Thanks so much for the help!

It would be hard to imagine breaking your data plan with iMessage, unless you are passing some massive attachments.
On the other hand, iHeart radio is like Pandora, I think, and streams the music constantly while running. I wonder what happens if your wi-fi drops for a second while you are running that. Will your phone jump over to the cellular connection to keep the app running? If it does, that could easily explain the data overage.
You might want to play around with disabling cellular data when you know you will be parked under wifi for a while. That way, if wifi does blip on you, you don't start munching on your data plan.

  • I know Imessaging between IOS 5 devices is free, but when sending group texts to both IOS 5 phones and nonIOS 5 phones, is it still free to those with IOS 5? The text bubble is green.

According to Macworld it is a lowest common denominator situation. If any of the people on your list are not iMessage people then all the messages go out SMS and will count against your messages from your provider. Bummer IMHO, but that is the way it is.

Yes, but both you and the person you are texting must be on iOS 5.

  • International wifi iMessaging **with PHOTOS** -- still free?

    Hi all, need a clarification:
While abroad and with a wifi connection, is iMessaging with another iOS user still "free" (ie, non-SMS and no roaming) if photos are attached?
Not sure if the inclusion of data-heavy pics changes the status of the otherwise free wifi-delivered iMessage sent from an iPhone in Europe to an iPhone in the U.S..
    Thanks!

Check your other post, you already have the answer.

  • My iMessage would be sent as a text sometimes even if I am on wifi or 3G.

My iMessage would be sent as a text sometimes even if I am on wifi or 3G.

Probably because the person you were sending to could not receive it as iMessage at the time.

  • Blocked text msg on carrier would imessage still work between iphones

So I am wanting to get an iphone 5. My family plan on Verizon does not have Texting actually it is blocked. Would imessage still work between iphone on wifi and 4g?

They're not phones, thus they don't activate either iMessage or FaceTime for your phone number, only the Apple ID. That's why. IF you don't use your phone number, you should be able to activate using just your Apple ID, but as it is a phone, I suspect it will get stuck trying to activate using the phone number. You could try activating with the sim removed...in essence activate as an iPod touch.

  • If you have the iPhone 4s and you buy the iwork...later when you change your phone to iPhone 5 with the same app name and code the iwork still free to download into your new phone???

if you have the 4s and you buy the iwork...later when you change your phone to 5 with the same app name and code the iwork still free to download into your new phone???

Yes as long as you use the same Apple ID for iTunes that you used to download the app originally.
    Hope that helps
