Is InDesign the program of choice for this project?
hey, if i wanted to gather artists to create letterhead templates, which can then be easily modified due to client demand (text color and image changes) by someone else, is InDesign a good format to require? Meaning, does it make sense to only accept templates create in InDesign with styles saved as a package? All feedback is appreciated, thanks. junkahmail[@]gmail[.]com
It makes sense if the clients all have InDesign, and the same version or later than the version used to create the template, but otherwise the files would be completely useless. You're also limiting your potential market. Being able to offer templates in formats for Quark Xpress, Publisher, or Word might make sense, too.

What Is The Proper J2EE Architect For This National Defense Project?
A brief description of a national defense project I am looking into is that the system being developed is supposed to verify the "smartcard" of the card holder and his/her fingerprints against the Defense Department database. The system also reads in information about people (facial features, height, weight, etc.) and stores the information in the database, and then issues new "smartcard".
1. People involved in the project already decided to use swing for the client tier.
2. The problem is the Defense Department database. It is a flat file database and this database cannot be touched. It is a black box for Java developers. The Defense Department may provide a jar as an outer layer of this database.
Question 1: Is the web tier essential for this defense project?
Question 2: What is the proper J2EE architect for this project?
Question 3: How to deal with the data problem? Especially it looks that entity beans are not applicable.
Question 4: How does the system handle very heavy load? It is possible that tens of thousands of people will use the system at the same time.A brief description of a national defense project I am

Hi,
You can get it done here :http://www.thesoftwareobjects.com -
I had to restore my iMac from Time Machine. After the restoration all programs are functioning except my Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium. When I start any program in the suite the error message, "Licensing for this product has stopped working." I restarted the computer and tried again to run Photoshop and the same error message appeared. The message was followed by a message that stated that I needed to contact Adobe technical support and mention Error: 150.30. I need Adobe technical support to provide me a solution for my problem so I can continue using my Adobe products installed on my computer.
Unfortunately when Adobe products are restored from backup, especial CS4 and especially Mac, it breaks licensing.
There is a python script included in the license recovery kit that should work if you are familiar with Terminal.
If not, you must reinstall your CS4 suite. You don't need to delete your preferences, so it should be the same as before.

in the middle of the installation processing, this has appeared: "There is a problem with the windows installer package. A program is required for this install to complete could not be run." my question is, what is that specific program?
Let's try the following user tip with that one:

Is Keynote a good choice for this kind of video presentation?
Can Keynote easily be set up and used for the presenter to work from a slide table mode with both names (as well as numbers) and good-size customizable thumbnails of the visual material, primarily videos, which can be clicked on so as to play for the audience, on a projector (second monitor), each clip? This would allow nonlinear access to the videos, and spur-of-the-moment changes of order. I would use Final Cut Pro for the presentations, but this will not be available in many venues. I understand the current iMovie does not have a timeline, so it will be less than ideal. Is Keynote a good choice for this? If not, what would be?
I have I work 09 (newest version 5.0.2) and the presenter window only shows the next slide.
I have never had a need for a multi-slide view, because my presentations are all developed for education and are in a pre-determined order.
I can clearly see that this "pick a slide" feature could be quite useful when engaged in a conversational presentation rather than a seminar or classroom format that I use.
To change the order you would have to flip from multi-slide or disengage the program and choose a slide from the builder/creator menu. (Basically stop the presentation and that could be awkward)
If I am missing something, someone pipe in, I opened a presentation and was only able to get "next slide" up on the presenter menu. -
Question
I want to save with <nowiki><alt><s></nowiki> in the program Exact Online. This function is not working. this is the first time that i use this program with firefox.
'''edit''', mod escaped the '''<nowiki><s></nowiki>''' to prevent line through questionSubmitted too soon... To change your accelerator key for accesskeys to Alt alone (or a different combination), you can change a setting using Firefox's about:config preferences page.
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the filter box, type or paste '''ui.k''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Make sure '''ui.key.generalAccessKey''' is set to its default value of -1 (or right-click and choose Reset if it is not).
(4) Double-click '''ui.key.contentAccess''' to open a dialog box to change the value from its current default (on Windows, 5) to your choice of the following:
* 2 = '''Ctrl''' (Fx default on Mac thru Fx13)
* 3 = Ctrl + Shift
* 4 = '''Alt''' (IE/Chrome/Safari default on Win/Linux)
* 5 = '''Alt + Shift''' (Fx default on Windows & Linux)
* 6 = '''Ctrl + Alt''' (Fx default on Mac from Fx14) (Chrome/Safari default on Mac)
* 7 = Ctrl + Alt + Shift
This should take effect as soon as you OK the dialog, so you can experiment in a separate tab. Other combinations are available if you want to try them. See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Ui.key.contentAccess (inaccessible at the moment?) -
To my non-arrival notification oo update.
Updated with the new version downloaded from Appstore.
The previous version worked fine.
I have not time to open the library - the program closes. For 1-2 seconds I see the old look of your library.

When I try to open an embedded PDF file (Word doc) I get an error "The program used to create this object is AcroExch.exe. That program is either not installed on your computer, or is corrupt..." I've tried about everything from unchecking
protected mode at startup to removing & reinstalling Adobe. Nothing seems to fix this issue. Any other ideas?
This is happening on Adobe reader 9, 10 & 11 with MS Word 2010 & 2013. I've uninstalled, cleaned & reinstalled Reader 9, 10 & 11, as well as Acrobat 10 Pro & 11 Standard. Removed "Protected mode at startup, and changed
the default program for viewing from reader to Acrobat. This will not go away. It is affecting production at our company." Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder" . i can't find open containing folder in profile directory. it does give me the option to open the places.sqlite file using graphic converter. when i try that, graphic converter gives me a window saying that it can't be opened because it is corrupted or is not a file type supported by graphic converter.
i appreciate your help with a workaround to get the old bookmarks. that works. however, the problem has morphed from that concern to why adobe reader [the default app.] won't open firefox .sqlite files. is the problem in adobe reader or firefox? also, how can i tell if the places.sqlite file is corrupt?
i'm getting in over my head here and do appreciate your help. -
When I start the program I instantly see this message: "Adobe Bridge encountered a problem and is unable to read the cache, please try purging the central cache in cache preferences to correct the situation". I have tried this and it only results in a stalled/locked program. I have tried restarting my machine multiple times and tried reconfiguring how the cache is managed. Do you have anyone who could walk me through each step to correct this problem which just started two days ago. I have owned this program for at least a year now...

Unable to connect to the Data Access service for this management server
Hate to raise a sleeping horse but was hoping someone might have some insight into why SCOM Report Server install is failing. I am using a domain account for SCOM 2012 R2 services in a distributive environment
with 2 management servers and 2 SQL servers…one for Ops db and one for DW db.
Install was failing on selecting the management server. Research led me to
Kevin Holman's site. I followed his doc and SPN are set per your config and can telnet to MGMT1 on 5723…firewall is off on all servers. I am a domain admin and scom.mgmt account (MSOMSdkSvc) is a local admin on the MGMT servers.

When I point to the MGMT server, I keep getting “Unable to connect to the Data Access service for this management server. Ensure the Data Access service is running and that the service, the management group, and setup are

When I searched on "Exception.Message: Version string portion was too short or too long" it led me to .Net strings in the reg. i deleted all refs to older versions (3.x) but still no good.
BobWell, I’m back to trying to get SCOM Report Server up and running. This time I decided to try the command line silent install and rely on logs to debug. But it still fails.
This is the script: SETUP /install /InstallPath:D:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012 R2\Operations Manager /components:OMReporting /ManagementServer:<server>.<domain> /SRSInstance:<instance> /DataReaderUser:<domain>\<account>

When I run the script, I get a pop-up: “System CenterOperations Manager Setup has stopped working with the following:

Want the program to wait for some sec
Hi,
I'm trying to get a kinda sweeping effect with a couple
of images. I need the program to wait X amount of
millisec before it shows another image.
How can I do this? I've tried using sleep and delay
but I can't get it to work. I'm not using any threads.
I just want the program to wait for a moment.
Thanxtry {
Thread.sleep(millis);
} catch (InterruptedException e) {

[ENVIRONMENT]
Product version - BI4.1 SP03
OS - Windows 2008 R2
CMS Database - Oracle 11g
Java Application Server - Tomcat7
[ISSUE]
Using the Upgrade Management Tool to completely migrate a BOXI3.1 SP3+FP3.6 to BI4.1 SP03. The reporting database from both BOXI3.1 and BI4.1 are the same and so is the database logon credential.
When viewing and refresh a migrated Crystal Report, it throws "The viewer could not process an event. The database logon information for this report is either incomplete or incorrect. [] ---- Error code:0 [CRWEB00000119]" error in both BI Launchpad and "The database logon information for this report is either incomplete or incorrect" in scheduled job.
[STEPS TAKEN]
- Update the Database Configuration with the SAME Oracle database password in CMC and "The database logon information for this report is either incomplete or incorrect" issue goes away.
I search the SAP SMP and SCN forum and found no reference on this UMT and Crystal Report database logon problem. Hope any of you have seen this problem and share if there is an ADAPT for it.
Thank you in advance,
Jin-ChongHi,
The BI4.1 SP03 server and client and Crystal Report 2013 SP03 developer and Crystal Report for Enterprise 4.1 SP03 are all installed onto this Windows 2008 R2 server.
I am able to open the migrated report from CMS repository in Crystal Report 2013 SP03 developer and am able to refresh it with database logon password provided. After save it back to the Enterprise, the database logon password field for this report in CMC becomes empty so that I have to enter the database password and choose "Use same database logon as when report is run" when viewing and scheduling report.
What is interesting to me is that the UMT seems to migrate the report along the database logon password because I can see the encrypted password in the report database logon property in CMC. The workaround is to reenter the database logon password in the report database logon property in CMC.
With this said, there are hundreds of the Crystal reports and the workaround would consume lots of manual work by update each report's database logon password in CMC.
For other customers who have more crystal reports, I wonder if there is an automated way to update the crystal report's database logon password on BI4.1 or if this is an isolated incident on my new BI4.1 SP03 environment.
I run UMT in command line to perform livetolive migration, and my steps are listed below
cd "E:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\java\apps\upgradeManagementTool\jars\"

I want to send my itunes library from my old macbook (start up disk nearly full) to my new iMac. Then delete my itunes library from my old macbook. Is Homesharing my best choice for this?
What I don't want to happen is once I delete my itunes library from my old Macbook that the iMac itunes library to delete itself because I am using Homesharing. Does homesharing sync and make that happen?Here is some help.

After confirming that all your stuff is on the drive, delete the photos you have copied. You will need to empty the iPhototrash to free up the space. -
For a final VB.NET project, I have to write a project that ascends and descends a word or number chosen by the user.
This is what I want to do:
I want to add a user defined error that will stop the program and tell the user to input a value into the program if they did not. I do not know how to do this. I think I would use a Null Reference exception.
Here is the code for the project:
Module Module1 'VB.NET Final Project 12/30/14 . Option 3: Write a program to run two separate threads printing numbers or words (It can do both) in ascending and descending orders. The words have to be given by the user.
Dim Ascending As System.Threading.Thread = New Threading.Thread(AddressOf PrintAscend) 'Two threads are declared,
Dim Descending As System.Threading.Thread = New Threading.Thread(AddressOf PrintDescend) 'ascending and descending
Sub Main()
Console.WriteLine("VB.NET Final Project 12/30/14 . Option 3: Write a program to run two separate threads printing numbers or words (It can do both) in ascending and descending orders. The words have to be given by the user.")
Ascending.Start() 'starts first thread
End Sub
Sub PrintAscend()
Console.WriteLine("Please type in a word to print in ascending order.") 'the program asks for users to input a word
Dim input As String 'as a string
input = Console.ReadLine()
For i As Integer = 0 To input.Length - 1
Console.WriteLine(input.Chars(i)) 'prints the letters of the word in ascending order
Next
If Ascending.ThreadState = Threading.ThreadState.Running Then Descending.Start() 'starts second thread
End Sub
Sub PrintDescend()
Console.WriteLine("Please type in a word or number to print in descending order.")
Dim input As String
input = Console.ReadLine() 'user inputs the word that he wants
For i As Integer = input.Length - 1 To 0 Step -1
Console.WriteLine(input.Chars(i)) 'prints the letters of the word in descending order
Next
Console.WriteLine("Please press enter key to close the program, and thanks for your time.")
Console.ReadKey()
End Sub
End ModuleDejavu again?
Is your teacher instructing you to use a User Defined
error or do you just want to accept the user input, check it, give a message, and repeat?
It seems to me you are missing the basic program loop? This example checks the user input and then performs an action, then repeats. If the user enters Quit execution stops. Is that what you want to do?
Module Module1
Sub Main()
Console.Title = "Make a Decision"
Dim theline As String = ""
Do While theline <> "Quit"
Console.WriteLine(vbLf & "Enter a or b." & vbLf)
theline = Console.ReadLine()
Select Case theline
Case "a", "A"
