Is Informix 11.5 Supported wtih BOE XI R2?

Hi There
Can anyone tell me if Informix 11.5 is a supported DB for BOE XI R2?
I have found a SAP note (1236350) saying that it is supported in XI 3, but i can't find anything for R2.
The supported platforms document for R2 and 3 only list up to Informix 10.0.
Thanks
Angela

Hi Angela,
Informix 11.5 is not supported with BO XIR2.
The latest Service Pack of BO XIR2 is SP5 and in SP5 supported paltform guide below supported Infomix DB versions are given:
BO XIR2 SP5:
IBM Informix Dynamic Server 9.4
IBM Informix Dynamic Server 10.0

  • RHEL 5.7 support for BOE XI 3.1 SP3

    Hi All,
The supported platform guide for BOE XI 3.1 SP3 says its supports RHEL 5.0
I would like to know does it also work with 5.7 version?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
The version 5.7 RHEL should support the BOE Xi 3.1 Sp3.
The patch need to be above RHBA-2007:0619-3

  • How does a customer request new Driver support for BOE XI 3.1?

    Hello:
I would like to know the process to request product enhancements/feature support?
We are running BOE XI 3.1 on HPUX-IA64 going to Neoview 2.4.
I would like to know how to request support for the HP Neoview JDBC driver.
    What is the process?
Currently as of SP3 the platform support doc only has HP ODBC 2.4 listed.

  • 10.31GA Weblogic is not supported by BOE integration Kit BOE XI 3.1 SP3

    Hi Team,
I have successfully installed  BOE XI 3.1 SP3 in our Windows System during the set I have selected the Web Logic domain
of 10.31 GA location. After that I was trying to install the Integration Kit for this also I have selected the automatic Deploy  option and Web Logic domain of 10.31 GA location but the Kit shows that Incompatible WebLogic version  but I went ahead installed Integration Kit. Kit shown that successfully installed message. But Not even single Apps is deployed under WebLogic Deployments . Could you please advise on this?
    Thanks
    Balan.P

First of all, there is no reason to start with Xi3.1 SP3. If you're just starting deployment, you should go with Xi3.1 Sp5. Way too many bugs are fixed since Sp3.
As to the deployment issue, use wdeploy to predeploy all apps for weblogic, then use WL console to deploy those into WL.
The process is described in the WebApplications deploy guide.
This manual process is more reliable vs. auto deploy during setup.

  • Running BOE XI 2.0 reports on BOE XI 3.0 and platform support for BOE XI 3.

    Hi,
I  have recently purchased BOE Pro (for Ent Reporting) XI 3.0
Can you please tell me if crystal reports that have been running on BOE XI 2.0 will also run on BOE Pro (for Ent Reporting) XI 3.0
Can you also please tell me if BOE Pro (for Ent Reporting) XI 3.0  will run on AIX 5L v5.3
    Thanks.

    You're welcome...

I agree. I often use proxies for the same reason.

I think so. As you probably know, each R/3 using ABAP prx has a stronger connection to XI compared to an R/3 using IDoc or RFC. It has to access SLD, repository, and so on...
So if you have this R/3-XI link always with your 2.0 you shouldn't be messin up.

Yep, I know. My "almost everything fixed" was volountarily ironical
XI 3.0 works much better... though it has its issues as well.

  • Informix v9.3 support

Has anyone gotten Kodo to work with Informix v9.3
yet ? I would like to hear from you on your
    experiences (Installation/Tweaking) - good or bad ?
    Thanks
    Gavin

First of all, there was no 9.3.  The VIs are actually saved in 10.0.
Secondly, those VIs are password protected. Without the password, I can't do anything with them.

  • Support for older Crystal Reports .rpt files in BOE XI 3.1

Does anyone know how far back you can go with Crystal Reports objects in BOE XI 3.1? In other words, what's the oldest version of Crystal .rpts that are supported in BOE XI 3.1? Can you run Crystal Reports 9 .rpt files? I'm trying to keep from having to update around 4-5 thousand older .rpts files for an upgrade to BOE XI 3.1.
If we have to do a mass upgrade to CR 2008, what's the best way to do that?
Edited by: Michael Garrett on Aug 23, 2011 4:46 PM

    Hi,
from an upgrade perspective you can upgrade from CE9 to XI 3.1. Check
    https://websmp105.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001646952008E/xi3-1_bip_upgrade_en.pdf
    (S-User needed)
Do you have a running CE9 installation? If yes i would recommend upgrading this to XI 3.1 as described in the Guide. Or have you these "4-5 thousand" CR9 documents local on a file location?

    -Seb.

  • BOE supported mail server

    Dear All,
Anyone will tell me which kind mail server can be supported by BOE ?
I have a Chinese customer has a Webi reports schedule problem.
When they schedule Webi reports which has a Chinese name in "Email recipients" ,the attchment's name will be cut off randomly in Email.
If english name of Webi repports, there is no such symptom.
This customer used mail server is Exim.
I checked this kind mail server.
It is base on GPL protocol and can be config SMTP authentication.
So, is there a official document can show more information about BOE supported mail servers?
    Thanks!
    Wayne

I would recommend to open a case by SAP support for this and describe the behaviour (http://service.sap.com/support) . As far as I know SMTP is supported in general. Maybe there are some limitations regarding the character sets there but have never seen any documentation on this.

  • BOE XI 3.1 jdk version

    <h4> Hi,
Is JDK1.6 supported for BOE XI 3.1 application server?
According to platform requirements for linux  (page 7)  it seems that  Tomcat 5.5 , jdk 1.5.0_xx is supported.
Of course in the same document there's also written: </h4>
Application Server Incremental Release Support Policy
Specified application servers versions have been successfully tested by Business Objects. Incremental releases of the specified versions defined by the last number in the application server name will be supported as they are made available, but may not have been tested by Business Objects. Exceptions in support will be documented.
    JDK Version Support Policy
JDK major versions are specified to ensure the use of correct version when there are multiple choices provided
by the vendor. Business Objects tests and supports any _xx release installed with a given application server.
    <h4>
So must I assume that Tomcat 6 and jdk 1.6.0_xx is supported?
    Thanks,
    Fabbio
    </h4>
Edited by: fabbio on Sep 14, 2009 6:17 PM

With service pack 2 tomcat 6.0 is now supported but you will need to add it as 5.5 still comes packaged with the product. JDK 1.6 was not tested with tomcat per the [supported platforms for XI 3.1 SP2|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/402db6eb-845d-2c10-a38c-aafde85ec769&overridelayout=true]
If using other web/apps that support 1.6 (weblogic or websphere) then 1.6 can be used.

  • BOE XI R2 compatibility with BI 7.0

    Hi Experts,
My company has BOE XI R2 for Windows SP2 and it is currently working with SAP BW 3.5. Now, we are upgrading our BW 3.5 to BI 7.0.
In this case, Can anyone please let me know if the BOE XI R2 is compatible with BI 7.0? Do we need to install any service packs or apply any hot fixes?
    Thanks,
    Smruti

    Hi,
SAP NetWeaver BI 7 (at least BASIS level 10, ABA level 10, BW level 10) is supported by BOE XI R2. You have to make sure though that you have installed the latest Service Pack (5) and Fix Pack (5.1) for BOE Enterprise XI R2 and the integration Kit for SAP XI R2.
You can take a look at [http://service.sap.com/bosap-support] under Documentation / Supported Platforms for more information.

  • Access Tables in an Informix Database that have their table names in lower

    Thanks

    dear Frank,
check if helps oss note 520496 mentioned in doc
    'Transferring Data with DB Connect'
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/2f0fea94-0501-0010-829c-d6b5c2ae5e40
we are using db connect but never with informix.
    hope this helps.
520496-BW 3.0 external DB Connect after INFORMIX
    Symptom
You want to connect an external Informix database to a BW Release greater than 3.0A in the form of a source system via an external Database Connect. This note describes the following:
    prerequisites to be met
    problems that can occur
which of these problems can be solved.
    Other terms
Rsdbc, DATES, TIMES, DBCON, DBCONNECT, source system, database, InfoSource, DataSource
    Reason and Prerequisites
    1. General
    2. Supported BW / Basis versions
    3. Possible main problem areas
    a) Conventions and notation
    b) Use of data types
    c) Code page and sort sequence of the source system
    1. General
Implementing the above function enables you to load data into a BW system from any Informix database. Unlike an Informix database delivered by SAP AG, you can configure this database as you like. This can cause constellations where an external DB access cannot be used directly. For most of these scenarios, a satisfactory customer-specific solution can be developed. However, the consulting expenses associated with this solution are not part of the normal support and are settled separately. A certain level of expertise and experience in using the source database (Informix in this case) is required to set up this connection, especially in the areas
    DB-specific tools
    DB-specific SQLSyntax
    DB-specific function
Knowledge of the source application is also required for transferring semantically-relevant data to the BW system.
    Solution
    1. Supported BW/Basis versions
                  BW 3.0B   Basis 6. 20 Support Package 21
    1. Possible main problem areas
    a) Conventions and notation
The DB connect interface in BW always expects capitalized table and field names. Since table and column names are usually written in lower case in Informix, access to an external table must be enabled via a view on the (external) Informix database. Field and table names must be entered in upper case in the view (enclose in quotation marks; environment variable DELIMIDENT must be set).
Another advantage of the view is that access rights to the external table can be adjusted accordingly for the new requests. The view should be created as follows:
    create view "<VIEWNAME>" ("<FIELD1>", "<FIELD2>"..)
    as select
      <field1>, <field2>....
    from <tabname>;
    a) Use of data types
In the case of SAP installations, the DB data type DATE and DATETIME are not used. Date and time are stored by the DDIC as character-like data types on the database. These date types therefore cannot be copied to the BW consistently without additional activities.
               Solution:
You must create a view in the source system view which transforms the date types. DATE must be converted to an CHAR8 field (date) and DATETIME to an CHAR8 field (date) and a CHAR10 field (time):
    create view "<VIEWNAME>" ("<FIELD1>")
    as select
      substring ( to_char(<date_field>,'%Y%m%d) from 1 for 8 )
    from <tabname>;
    create view "<VIEWNAME>" ("<FIELD1>", "<FIELD2>")
    as select
      substring ( to_char(<datetime_field>,'%r) from 1 for 2 ) ||
      substring ( to_char(<datetime_field>,'%r) from 4 for 2 ) ||
      substring ( to_char(<datetime_field>,'%r) from 7 for 2 ) ||
      '0000'
    from <tabname>;  #
Informix and ABAP support a value range of 1x10E-307 to 1x10E+308 for the 'float' data type. Limits may apply in the case of other databases. Before transferring 'float' data types to BW, you should therefore check the permissible value range on the target database.
    a) Code page and sort sequence of the source system
R/3 kernel based systems like BW are configured so that the database used is created with code page cp850 and the sort sequence 'bin'. The configuration of the source system may deviate from this.
If the sort sequence is different, operations for pattern search ( like ) and area search ( between, >, < ) for character-like fields may return different results. No solution is currently available for this problem.
The use of multibyte code pages in the source system for storing character sets with more than 256 characters ( Kanji, Hiragana, Korean, Chinese etc.) can cause inaccuracies in the data. No solution is currently available for this problem.
