Is international texting included in my unlimited texting plan?

I just upgraded to unlimited texting but I still have the Nationwide Talk & Text plan. I'm wondering if sending and receiving international texts is included in the plan, or if it will be billed as a separate charge. FYI - I'm using my cell phone in the US, not internationally. Any help would be great!

Thanks, lewisr13, for your contribution.
Good evening aedubs,
I'd be happy to assist you regarding international text messages.  If you are in the U.S. and are texting to or receiving a text from a Canada, Mexico or Puerto Rico number this is billed at domestic rate.  If you have unlimited text or a text message bundle than this is included in your plan.  Any other international carrier will be charged at international rate.  For more information about international rates feel free to visit the following link. Have a great day!

  • International texts not going through all of a sudden - ATT, Iphone4

    Hello,
Long story short - I have one contact that I text regularly in Shanghai, China (I'm in the USA). I have an international texting plan on my AT&T account that gives me a better price. I have been texting her for almost 3 months without problem. Well, I recently went to visit her in Shanghai, and since I have returned from China, she no longer receives any of my texts. I get texts from her just fine, and when I send them to her, they don't bounce back and I get no error messages. So on my end everything looks like it went through. I had her verify that she can get texts from others in the US and there is no problems there. It is just from me that they don't show up on her end. I spent over an hour on the phone with AT&T today and basically got nowhere. They have identified no problems as of yet and just had me reset my network settings. I was told to call back tomorrow if if didn't work. Well it didn't. They asked me several times if the phone was dropped, exposed to water, etc...Nothing physically has caused any phone damage. I can receive texts from her internationally, and all of my domestic texts come and go through just fine. I'm guessing something got squirlly after I returned to the US somehow. The phone obviously recognized where I was because I couldn't access several features without turning data roaming on, which I never did. I changed no setings at all while I was gone. They also suggested it my be version 6.0, but again, this was installed well before my trip and there were no issues after installitation. The problems didn't start until I returned to the states. Any ideas? I appreciate and advice you may have.
    Jay

I know the importance of ensuring your device and service is working properly kthompson91. To clarify, are you getting restricted when anyone calls you or just one specific number? What make and model phone do you have? Are you also having issues with not getting text messages from a certain number?

  • International Texts - Receiving and Sending

I have found that a lot of people have reported issues with international texts. Is there anyone that can help with this?
I have tried sending messages to Sao Paulo, Brazil and Lagos, Nigeria. It seems as though they go through, but I can't tell if they are received. And I surely have not received any replies to them.

    Thanks, lewisr13, for your contribution.

  • International Texting

I have a go-phone account, and I was texting someone in Canada, and my account balance seems to be taking a pretty big hit when it hasn't been doing that before. I'm on the $25/month plan, and Canada is supposed to be included in the unlimited texting, so I'm pretty confused. Is it also dependant on images and video you send internationally (or could it be my friend's incomining pics)? I don't have data, but none of the messages I've sent even go over MBs of data anyway, and when I check my history on my account, everything says it's $0.

    Hello clj,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
I would recommend that you contact your wireless service provider regarding this issue..

  • International Texting with user in Turkey

One of my colleagues is Turkish. He had to go back to his country for several months. I wanted to text to him but apparently international texting service of GoPhone doesn't include Turkey. Is there a reason for that? I mean Turkey is not a small or unknown country. Is there a possibilty for att to add Turkey to the list in near future? Thanks,Pitou

No, texting to and from Canada is considered domestic texting and is included in your unlimited plan.  CALLING the number will result in high, per minute, international rates.  But texting -  go for it!  (It should be a 10 digit phone number, area code and number, that's all you need).

  • Free Text Messages Unlimited Anytime Plan

    Hello,
I am looking at taking out the BT Infinity 2 broadband and adding the Unlimited Anytime Plan to the service. I was just wondering if anyone on here knows if I would still be entitled to the 200 free text messages per month by adding the Unlimited Anytime Calls plan as an add on?
I am referring to the below document.

  • Texting to Canada without internation texting.

I searched the forum and I saw mixed answers, I also searched the site and I don't know which is the correct one.
If I have unlimited texting but not the international plan do I get charged for texting Canada or is it just part of my Unlimited plan?  I read that they changed it and now texting Canada is domestic but I would just like a straight answer.
    Thanks in advance.

Canada is considered part of your package, so there will not be any add'l charges to your unlimited messaging plan.

  • International texting charges?

My friend is on a class trip to Germany. He has been texting me on his ipod, through wifi, with a texting app called text free. I have an iPhone with unlimited texting. We have not been texting through iMessage, just SMS, but he is sending them from his ipod. Will I be charged gobs of money for "international texting" or is it part of my data plan since he is using wifi? HELP!

Generally, you are only charged international texting rates if you are texting to a number outside of your own country. Receivng shoudl be covered by your unlimited texting plan. Is your friend using a local (to you) number of Text Free? If so, you should be fine. If he has number local to where he is, then you may incur chargers. As ckuan suggested, call your carrier.

  • International texting to a U.S. number

My daughter is temporarily in the U.K. but still has her U.S. cell number (not Verizon).  Will I incur international texting charges if I send texts to or receive texts from her?
    Edited to start new discussion.

It only shows the spaces on-screen - you can't actually have spaces in phone numbers so should send fine as they are not included in the number it sends to.
Make sure you are actually sending an SMS and not attempting to send an iMessage to the number instead. The speech bubble you enter the message in should be green, not blue.

  • International texts are not being received?

    Hello folks
    I have an iPhone 5.
I can make and receive local and international calls. I can send and receive local text messages. I can receive international text messages but cannot send them. I have an International calling and texting plan.
iMessage works fine as does Viber. I have been in contact with Verizon and have been told everything is working fine. They say my text messages are being sent. But none of my international contacts receive them. My international contacts have service providers that are on the Verizon list and they all can receive international texts.
I also contacted Apple and they said the problem was with Verizon as the phone works fine.
Does anyone else have this or a similar issue? It's very frustrating.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks

Although international texting has gotten more reliable in the last few years, it can still be problematic. I would guess that the problem lies on the Ukraine end and there's not going to be much you can do about it. Apps, such as Viber or iMessage that rely on straight data are much more reliable in this situation.

  • Cannot type/paste normal international text when non-Unicode in CS6

    Hello,
In all versions of DW (up to CS3 which I have used) I had no problem pasting / typing HTML or text with international characters in Design View when the page is using a non-Unicode, yet international encoding (like Windows - Greek or ISO - Greek).
Now, DW CS6 auto converts all international chars typed/pasted in Design View to html entities (unless Page Encoding is Unicode).
For example, when the document has an encoding of:
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type"  content="text/html;  charset=windows-1253">
[ This is equal to Modify / Page Properties / Title/Encoding / Document Type (DTD): None & Encoding: Greek (Windows) ]
...in the past I was able to type/paste greek characters/text in Design view and they were retained as such (simple text) in Code view (and this is what we need now as well).
Yet, in DW CS6 such international chars/text (typed / pasted in Design view) are auto-switched to "&somechar;" entities which is not what should happen; this messes up all text. Design view shows the text correctly, but html source (Code View) does not retain international characters themselves, although it should, as long as the html page is using a proper encoding/charset that allows compatible international text to be retained (e.g. greek encoding is compatible with greek characters). I repeat that this was working correctly at least until DW CS3.
Directly typing/pasting in DW CS6 design view correctly (i.e. retaining the original chars in code view) works ONLY when using Unicode.
However, if we type/paste greek text (with html tags or not) directly in Code view, then DW CS6 retains chars/text properly and Design view displays everything properly too. Consequently, as a work-around, we can use the Code View to type/paste international text/html when not using Unicode (UTF-8) as the Page Encoding. But this makes our life more difficult.
So, has CS6 dropped support for typing/pasting international text/html directly in Design view, for non-Unicode international encodings?
Or something has changed and we need to configure some setting(s) so that the feature works properly? (I haven't been able to find any setting that might affect this behavior. I also played with Document Type (DTD) settings but I found these did not affect the described behavior.)
Please advise. This is very important.
    Thanks,
    Nick

    Thanks for the reply.
As I have already mentioned, typing/pasting in Code View works properly.
However, in previous versions of DW, pasting/typing in Design View was working fine, whatever the page encoding.
I agree that pasting in Code View is not really a big deal. But having to do all editing/typing in Code View definitely is! What is the point of using a WYSIWYG editor, if it can't produce correct source code (except in Unicode pages)? If we are going to do all editing in Code View, then we could simply use notepad (just an exaggeration) or other programming-oriented tool.
I hope other people can confirm the problem and suggest solutions or Adobe fixes it.

  • With the new OS5 update. does the imessage also free with international text?

with the new OS5 update. does the imessage also free with international text?

Yes, but both you and the person you are texting must be on iOS 5.

  • By using imessage to communicate with someone who lives in norway will the imessage charge as an international text message?

if you use imessage to communicate to someone who lives in norway will it charge as an international text?

Blue = Free (around the world)
Green = Standard international SMS rates apply
Facetime (video/audio) is also free just like iMessage.

  • Since installing iOS 5 I am unable to send international texts to contacts.

After intsalling iOS 5 (aswell as 5.0.1 a few days ago) I am unable to send international text messages, both sms and imessages, to anyone in my contact list. I can though send them if I manually insert their number.
This does in fact automatically substitute the inserted number with the entry I have in my contact list, yet will only send the message this way.
If I simply select someone from my contact list, it will give me a "message send failure" error.
I have attempted this through an Iphone 4 with a +44 vodafone sim to Italian (+39) numbers.

Also, I have attempted this with both the International Assist on and off. The sim seems to work normally on other phones.
