Is Ipad for me?

Is IPAD for me? I use a laptop (windows 7) I use it for 10 or so hours for facebook, youtube etc. I look at gamespot.com. and gmail and so on. I go to fishforums.net and post on the forum and read about fish. I think the book distribution apps sound intriguing, and I wanna give those a shot. I really like some of the apps. I like netflix and itunes. However I have a touch which does most of the same stuff except it has a very small screen.
And I think I'd like to watch movies (unavailable on netflix) on it.

A couple of things to keep in mind...
Make sure you have realistic expectations with respect to the iPad. In other words, don't expect it to completely replace your desktop or laptop computer. It won't. It's more of an extension of your computer. Having said that, many people have said that they rely on their laptops, netbooks, desktops and even smartphones far less now that they have the iPad. No reason you can't enjoy any combination of these gadgets.
Bear in mind when you visit this forum, the people who post here represent only a small minority of the 2 million+ iPad owners, most of whom are enjoying the device immensely with no major issues (I'm one of them). Although there are some legitimate issues (such as the WiFi problems some people are having), there is no reason to assume or expect the worst. I remember someone posted a good analogy a while back in which he compared this place to a hospital--only the sick people come here. The healthy ones don't bother. This is also a convenient place for those with a gripe (legitimate or otherwise) to vent. But that should not deter you from becoming a part of what I consider to be a great community.
The iPad has only been out for two months and it's a first generation device. Sure it's going to have a few quirks, but overall many people are finding this to be a well-designed, beautifully executed piece of machinery. There's already a decent amount of apps, accessories and content for the iPad and more are being produced every day. iOS4 will come out in the fall and add more functionality, enhancements and bug fixes. So there is a lot to look forward to.
To me, it is a very low risk proposition, given the incredible demand for the iPad. If you buy one and decide it's not for you, as I stated previously, it will not be difficult to find someone to take it off your hands. If you already own an iPod Touch (as do I) then you have a pretty good idea of how the iPad works and what it can do. Think of everything you love about the Touch and then multiply it by ten. It's a much more inviting experience on the iPad--surfing the web, playing games, watching video and catching up on email.
Granted, the iPad is primarily a toy for me and I did not buy it for business or professional purposes. I cannot speak one way or the other about the iPad's ability to function in that capacity (I'll leave that to others). So take my opinion for what it's worth. As I mentioned previously, more apps are being developed everyday so if there's a specific need you have that may not be met today, chances are it will be in the near future. Only time will tell.
