Is iphone 5c's screen scratch-resistant?

I'm wondering if my iphone 5c doesn't need to have its screen protector. Is it??

I put screen protectors on all of my devices. Others do not. It is up to the individual to decide what they want to do. Yes, the screen is very strong but I just like the added protection. I do not see any decline in the touch screen response.

  • IPhone 6 plus screen scratch for no reason

Seriously, I have took really good care of my iPhone 6 plus and have a cover on it. Without any droping, pumping and hurt, the screen scratched And being worse. The most strangest thing is that evey day the flaw becomes more when I weak up in the morning. How can a screem be so fragile. I even did not touch it ! It drives me crazy! Can I go the store to a new one without paying ?

They probably will not replace the phone. Scratching the screen is not covered by the warranty. But they might be able to tell you where these scratches come from if you show them your device and the accessory you use with it, like the case for example.

  • Is ipod touch 5 screen scratch resistance?

i had apple iPod touch 4,its screen become scratchful. Now i am going to buy iPod touch 5.Before it i want to know that its screen is scratch resistance or not?

Apple's new screen is very scratch resistant.
Search up "iPod Touch 5th generation vs. Knife" on Youtube.
You will see that even scratching and grinding the new Touch with a sharpened pocketknife makes no scratch to the screen. Whatever material Apple is using is very durable and even stronger than Gorilla Glass.
However, I own one and I still added a screen protector because I'm OCD about fingerprints. I would NOT recommend the ones by Zagg called Invisible Shield as although they are strong, they easily peel off and are very troublesome. You often will have to put it back on. Plus, for the $25 price of one, I could over 18 screen protectors from equally good brands such as Halo or TechArmor. I'm currently using a clear TechArmor screen protector and it's very good - easily applied, bubble-free and got it on in one try. It even comes with a little plastic card thing that helps you smooth it out.
That's my two cents. Hope it helps!

  • Iphone 6 plus screen scratch without dropping the phone

Purchased my iPhone in November and a good case for it minus the screen guard. After 2 months of use, there is a thin line which cannot be felt from the top till middle of screen. Taken it to an authorized service center but received a denial stating that it is a physical damage and this is not covered under warranty.
I am sure many others would be facing a similar issue but would like to know if there is any solution to this issue like a replacement. Cost mentioned to me for a screen replacement is Rs.26500/-.

Yes glass can be scratched. Yes scratched screens are not covered under warranty. Incase you are not clear what the service centre told you about your options you can ether replace the screen, buy a new phone, or keep the phone as is.

  • IPod screen scratch resistant? I don't think so

After just 2 weeks of using my new iPod touch, the screen got an about 2mm long scratch on the screen. Unfortunately, I have no clue how this came about, as I always carried it in my pocket, making sure it wasn't with keys/other sharp objects.
I'm wondering if this is covered by the warranty in any form, or if I'm just out of luck? Guess I'll have to call support when I get the chance to find out exactly.
Anyone else have had their screen get scratched that easily?

Well, I have no other issues with the iPod, screen is crystal clear (week38), no issues as the 'inverted black' so I'm not sure if this would warrant an exchange / free repair. Luckily it's only a small scratch, but very noticeable and annoying when watching movies

  • Is it necessary to use a case for iPhone 5? The back of iPhone 5 isn't scratch resistant?

I own a white iPhone 5 and just worried about the looks and the beauty of the phone. I just don't want to lose it. Is it necessary to use a case to protect the back of the iPhone? ( Actually I hate using cases personally, but if I need to use for retaining the beauty, I will use one.)

    To pichasagar,
Check out Spigen.com they've got this line of really thin case.
    http://www.spigen.com/brands/apple/iphone/iphone-5s/iphone-5-5s-case-ultra-thin- air-a.html
Or put a skin on it, transparent or not, from Spigen or from http://www.skinit.com/
I have no affliation with either company.

  • Is the screen of ipad mini scratch resistant?

We've been using iPad original for many years, though I rarely take it outside but it does not mean it alway lays on a soft pillow! Anyhow, it has no scratches on its screen.
However, alot of rumers are out there and no official relieving statement from Apple! rumers that claim iPad mini does not benefit from neigther a gorilla glass nor a simple scratch resistant coating made me using a screen protector which just reduces the image quality and with that on,  i feel more like using the old iPad orignal than this.
I just need a simple answer from an official if I may use it simply with no screen protector like my old iPad.
    Regards,

I cannot speak for Apple (they are not here) - only from experience. No scratches on my iPad mini, had it since launch day.

  • Iphone 6 screen scratched

I have had my phone since the day it came out and I am already noticing several screen scratches. How do I resolve this issue?

Ok, same here. This cant be real! I have watched the phone very much and today in the morning I have seen about 5 to 8 scratches. This can't be real. I was having iPhone 4, 4S, 5S and no one did have so much scratches in years like this one (iPhone 6 4.7) in 3 days of use! I was shocked! One scratch you can fill with fingernail. This can't be. Im very disapointed! For the phone in this price rank this is not acceptable! In 3 days of use the screen is like it would be 2 years old! On my Android that I was have it for 2 years before this phone there is not so much scratches like this! I hope Apple will do something about this!

  • IPhone 6 Plus screen is pathetic!!

Why my 6 Plus is getting scratches so easily though I take a good care of it?
I never had any scratches on my previous iPhone(s). Isn't supposed to be Corning Gorilla Glass which is scratch resistant!!!
This is really annoying. Has Apple reduced the quality of the glass?

I'm infuriated by the "higher level" posters whose answer to the scratching issue is "put the phone in a case".
Apple invests a lot of time for the beautiful design of iPhones, and promotes the look and feel of the devices in their keynotes and marketing. How these phones feel in the hand — for example the smoothness and rounded edges of the display — is one of the reasons why I love iPhone. There is the premium quality feel to them.
A case would negate the feel of the design and also the thinness of the phone. If the screen's quality is so bad that the phone NEEDS a case, Apple could've just as well designed a rectangular brick to be hidden in one.
Two years with iPhone 5, without a case: not a single scratch on the screen when I sold it. All it took was some common sense taking care of the phone: I kept it in a pocket, always by itself. I didn't lay it screen down on hard surfaces. Etc.
With the same level of care with iPhone 6, the screen has a few scratches on it (visible in hard light). Disgusting. The quality of the screen/glass in iPhone 6 is clearly inferior to iPhone 5. There is no denying it.
"Put it in a case." No. I want to enjoy Apple's design. The correct solution to the scratching issue is that Apple replaces the glass with better quality glass that has the same scratch resistance as iPhone 5 had.
A few days ago I also got the iPhone 6 Plus. Unboxing it, I removed the plastic that covers the glass, and lo & behold: there was a 1/4 inch scratch on the bottom bezel of the phone, courtesy of Foxconn (factory FK2). So in this case, the first scratch was included in the price. "Cosmetic damage" right from the factory. Wow, Apple.

  • Iphone 6 Plus Screen Cracks

I have what I consider to be a huge problem. I set my phone down on its screen (So I don't end up damaging the camera)  on a clean, flat table. I set one side on the table, and dropped it the rest of the way to the table, and heard a pretty loud "POP". I picked up the phone, and found 4 cracks. Two on the right side, and two on the upper  and lower corners of the phone. I was livid! I just paid almost $1,000 for a phone that I can't even set down without it cracking? This is definitely an issue that needs to be fixed ASAP!
This Screen scratches extremely easily, and is not strong at all. I treat all of my electronics very well, and to have a screen on a $1,000 product break from the smallest impact you could imagine is just ridiculous!
It doesn't help that I am still waiting for my cases and screen protectors to arrive from Spigen!

So tell me? How did my phone crack in 4 places with zero impact marks?
also, do some research before making claims. Straight from the apple website.
    iPhone 6: $109
    iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5: $129
Plus a $6.95 shipping fee. Fees are in USD and exclude local tax. Pricing applies only to screen repair by Apple. Accidental damage isn’t covered under the Apple One Year Limited Warranty.
TTwo screen repairs without apple care is $260.
Two screen repairs plus buying apple care is also $260. Since is have never broken an iPhone screen before, I don't envision having to do this again if they do charge me, but still, it would be the same price.
to finish, you're saying because you've never seen it happen, then it's impossible. Unless you're Jesus, which I'm sure not, you cannot possible determine the outcime of every single situation that will ever happen.

  • Small MacBook Pro screen scratch: Are they normal for a 2+ year old computer?

    Hello,
I am writing about a topic that may have been mentioned around on these forums multiple times, scratches on the MacBook Pro screen display. In August 2010, I bought my 2010 MacBook Pro and since then I have been very careful with the screen by avoiding to touch it and clean it around every two to three months. However, today, I was cleaning my MacBook Pro screen and a way I examine the screen cleaness is by placing my iPhone 4S LED flash light illuminating the screen which shows the smudges and dirt that the screen has. Unfortunately, today I found 2 scratches on my MacBook Pro screen which run horizontally, these scratches are very small at around 1mm in lenght. They are not noticeable when the screen is on, which is why the scratch may have gone undetectable up until today when I used my iPhone's LED.
Off course I am a little dismayed because through all my carefullness when I clean the screen (I use a gentle up and down motion to clean the screen), still I was not able to prevent a screen scratch. When I close my MacBook Pro, I still use the plastic material that came on top of the keyboard to avoid any contact of the screen and the keys; I always shake that plastic material before placing it on top of the keyboard . So here's my question is it normal for a almost 2.5 year old computer to have two small scratches as the one I am speaking about.
I did find the screen bezel at Amazon and I may buy one as a spare and store it in a secure place and use it if there are more pronounced screen scratches.
Thanks in advance for any answers and suggestions to my predicament.

I have a 2010 MacBook Pro. I do not take any care to put anything in between the keyboard and screen... I just use it as it was made to be used. I don't take any particular care when cleaning the screen... often, it's just rubbing off a fingerprint with my sleeve or the tail of my shirt. No scratches whatsoever.
How your screen got scratched is not something anyone here can answer. We can speculate, at most, but that's not likely to be very useful. I'd recommend not putting anything between the screen and keyboard when closing the machine. That could very well be the cause of the problem, if something got stuck to that material when you closed it between keyboard and screen.
Thanks for the suggestion... I will apply these changes to my MacBook Pro's storing procedure and remove the plastic out of the equation. What bugs me is the fact that because the scratch is 1mm long and horizontal it tells me that a force dragged the material. The only thing I can recollect is when one time a family member accidentally passed close to my MacBook Pro with his headphone jack disconnected and hanging, unfortunately the metal part scraped over the screen but there were not scratches to detect. The impact area as I recollect is close to the scratch but the force of the impact and travel distance was not something as forceful to create such damage. Maybe the plastic is the culprit which makes me feel disappointed because I was using it to avoid problems rather than creating one. Anyways, I think I'll buy a spare bezel for my MacBook and in case there are more future and pronounced scratches, I will send it to repairs to an Apple Authorized Service Provider and give them the bezel.
