Pre orders started yesterday. As of about an hour ago, shipping is 3 - 4 weeks. No in store pick up available due to high volume of orders.
Or you can go stand in line at a store on the 19th. Get there about midnight, and prepare to wait. Depending on length of the line, you may or may not get one.

  • IPhone 3G model prices, available plans and plan costs

I've looked but could not find a comprehensive chart that displays the various iPhone 3G models, their prices when subsidized and not (if applicable, will use AT&T) and the available plans and their costs. Where can I find one? If there isn't one ...perhaps one could post such data here in one neat centralized format? Thanks!

  • ¿What's the best iPhone 6 model to use in USA, Mexico and New Zealand? I am guessing the Model A1524

I'm a traveler who uses the phone in different countries with a local SIM card (with an unlocked iPhone).  I mainly need to use the phone in USA, Mexico and New Zealand.  Occasionally in Europe but mostly on those 3 countries.   I can see the iPhone 6 plus comes in different models each with different frequencies to match specific cellphone companies.
For what I can see, the model A1524 is the one with most frequencies available which makes me think it may match the frequencies of cellphone companies in more countries, but not sure.
    Please some advice.

Depends  on when you can get an unlocked version but your surmise I suspect is correct if you want to use 4G /LTE
Remember the warranty is not international so buy where you are based for maximum coverage

  • The unlocked IPhone 4S models will not be available until November, Why is that? Why would Apple do that? I should be able to buy a factory unlocked Apple iPhone 4S when it comes out! Why is my interests being put last and Sprint, Verizon

The unlocked IPhone 4S models will not be available until November, Why is that? Why would Apple do that? I should be able to buy a factory unlocked Apple iPhone 4S when it comes out! I travel all over the world, and so that is why I need one like that. It is unfair to the consumer, and frankly turning away customers like myself willing to pay high dollar to Apple for their product, who can I speak with to complain about this, because I know their are factory unlocked iPhone 4S' sitting in a warehouse somewhere just waiting to be shipped, and I want one.  I know why, cause Apple signed contracts with each carrier so the carrier could increase their sales making customers sign 2 year contracts, I get it, I own my own business, but the delay of releasing factory unlocked ones is just not right and I should be able to buy one without having to buy it over in the UK where it is unlocked when it comes out right away, I should be able to buy it in my own country!  These business practices we practice in the US need to stop, their is a demand that needs to be met with consumers like myself who don't need subsidized iPhone's with 2 year contracts with carriers and don't mine paying full price for an unlocked one, it is unethical in a sense, forcing the customer to buy it with a carrier contract and NOT giving the customer the option to buy it full price and own it themselves, OR, making the consumer wait a month for that option to be available.  THEY SHOULD BE RELEASED AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!!  THAT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO!!!!!!
Apple can contact me and I will proudly pay for one.  But making me wait a month for an unlocked one, puts AT&T, Sprint & Verizon's interests before mine, and that is not right, for it is MY money that keeps you guys in business, so my best interests should come first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I understand your frustration, but when any form of rationing is required you have to prioritise. The number of unlocked vs packaged phones will be quite small and the number of unlocked buyers wishing to upgrade immediately will be smaller still. Against this you have the corporations sharing $billions between them.
It would, you're correct, have been fairer to release all at the same time, but fairer doesn't come into it: it's business.

It is more than likely the inability of the UK phone to support the US phone bands. You will probably be stuck with 3G and will never be able to get LTE. Also, your warranty is only good in the UK. You might be better of to try and sell that device to someone in the UK and purchase a phone in the US that you can get full service with.

  • Hi ... I would like to ask you about the difference between Iphone 5 model A1428 and A1429, as one of my friend told me some of resellers they have A1428 and others have A1429. Now is that true or not, if your answer Yes what it is the difference?

The difference is clearly stated on the technical specifications page for the iPhone, something you are just as capable of looking at as anyone else here.

Start by working throudh the Troubleshooting iOS and WiFi knowledge base article and see if that helps the situation.  When you get to shutting down the router, be sure to disconnect power as shutdown on some is really just standby mode.

'Locked' can have two meanings. It can mean locked to a specific carrier (service provider); if you want to unlock it to use it with another carrier only the original carrier can unlock it.
More likely you are talking about the other meaning, where a phone is 'Activation Locked'. Is this a second-hand (used) phone? If it is, and the previous owner has set up Activation Lock, this will prevent you doing anything with the phone at all.
If this is the case, only the previous owner can unlock it, either by giving you his Apple ID and password, or by removing it from his list of devices - details here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4515
If you can't contact the previous owner to get him to do this you will be unable to use the phone. Only he can unlock it: Apple cannot do it for you.
On the other hand, if it is a new phone and you have managed to set up a passcode (though this is nothing to do with iCloud) please see this Apple Help page:

  • IPhone 6 preorders available now via iPhone Apple Store App

I'm in Chicago and have been waiting to order the iPhone 6 via Apple's website store.  At 2:56 AM CT it is still unavailable.  Took the chance on using the Apple Store app on my iPhone and it is available and I placed my order with no problems.

I started to order mine right at 3am EST and the site wasn't up so I tried the app about 5 minutes later and was able to get the preorder for my iPhone 6 Plus 128GB and email confirmation right away. Looks like they may be having issues with the main website. Good Luck Everyone!

  • Unable to delete photos from iPhone 5 Model MD655LL/A

My wife needs to free up some space on her iPhone so she can take more photos and videos.  She has an iPhone 5 Model MD655LL/A.  In General > About the device shows a Capacity of 12.7 GB and Available 1.1 GB.  She has 9 videos and 1,488 photos on this phone. She also pays about $4 a month for iCloud storage.
I've connected this device to our Mac and to one of our PCs.  We are unable to remove the photos from this phone.  Upon selecting a photo from any collection, I can see the trash can icon on the lower right, but it is greyed out.
Now, I've read that Apple makes it impossible to delete the photos that are synced to the iCloud.  This makes sense, since the syncing process would add the photo back to your device if it's not detected in the cloud.  Our dilemma is this.  She needs additional space on her phone. She thought that the iCloud service would provide her with additional space beyond the limitations of her phone where she could store photos without using up her phone's storage space.  Based on what I briefly read, it appears that we misunderstood the iCloud storage, at least in this regard.
Here is what I need to be able to do.
    1. Back up the photos from her phone to one of our devices.  Either the Mac or the PC, it makes no difference to me.
    2. Then delete the photos from her phone, but retain them on the device where we backed them up.
I expected to be able to use Windows Explorer on the PC in Windows 7.  But upon connecting the phone to the PC, there is no directory to the phone that shows me the image contents.  Instead, there is a folder under "Computer" named "iCloud Photos". Selecting that shows a message where I expected to see a listing of contents on the device, which reads "iCloud Photos is not enabled" followed by a link "Open iCloud Control Panel".  Selecting that link opens the iCloud dialog, showing iCloud Storage of 182.53 GB of 200 GB available.
Selecting the checkbox next to Photos and choosing the Options button just shows a dialog that lets me choose the iCloud Photos Location on my PC.  But I don't see a list of the photos.
    3.  Where is a dialog that I can use to drag-and-drop in Windows 7 from the phone to a directory using Windows Explorer?
I need detailed, step-by-step instructions for this.  Do we just need to cancel the iCloud account?  The storage doesn't do us any good if upon deleting a photo from the iCloud the syncing process will delete photos from our computers and our phone.  Do we need to configure the iCloud account differently?  Also, how can we tell if a photo is locked in the cloud, and thereby permanently affixed to her iPhone.
Thanks for helping us.  This has been very frustrating.

The "delete after Import" message will not always appear after the import.  It appears, if you are importing from a camera or card, but I do not see it, when I import from a mobile device with iCloud Photo Library enabled and into a System Photo Library, that also uses iCloud Photo Library.
    See the Photos Help:  https://help.apple.com/photos/mac/1.0/?lang=en#/pht6c803201
If a message asks whether you want to delete or keep the photos on your camera after they’re imported, click Delete Items to remove the photos, or click Keep Items to keep them on the camera.
Unfortunately, this Help text does not state exactly, when it will be possible to delete after import and when not.

  • Do I get full conference call management options on iPhone 6 model A1549 if using it with GSM carriers?

I have iPhone 6 model A1549, bought from and currently using with Verizon. You all must be aware that we can use the same phone for GSM carriers like at&t as well. Now we all know that some of the features related to conference calling are not available on CDMA carriers, like we cant have more than 2 callers, and we can't manage conference calls by making the conversation with one party private for some time and again switching back to conference mode, disconnecting a particular party instead of having to end the entire call etc. reference link- iPhone: Understanding phone features - Apple Support These features are available on GSM models and carriers, I just wanted to ask if I use a GSM SIM from a GSM carrier on this model, do I get these additional conference call management options or I am restricted to Verizon like experience while being on at&t (and while using the at&t SIM in this model)

Yes, I am dealing with this right now on at&t with a 6 plus. I've been down the same road as you. I got it to work with a windows phone yesterday but not my 6 plus when I switched back to the iPhone. My wifes 6 works fine. I believe it is an at&t issue and not an 8.3 issue. After dealing through several levels of support at at&t, they are telling me it has to do with their transition to hd voice. Some people are having this issue because they are updating their system and some peoples phone profile, on phones that have hd voice capabilities, are not getting added to their line and call forwarding will not work without it. I have a trouble ticket open to their engineering dept and they promise it will work for me on or before the 24th of april. Engineering has to build my phones profile so call forwarding will work with my iPhone.
This is frustrating because like you, I need to forward my calls because I have no signal in my office and need to forward to another phone so I can get my calls. If at&t would quit dragging their feet and enable wifi calling, this wouldn't be an issue for me. I would suggest you put more pressure on at&t and escalate this until it gets resolved. Or put your sim in a phone that does not have hd voice capability and see if it works then.
Good luck. I'm keeping my fingers crossed this will be fixed for me on or before the 24th. We'll see.
EDIT: I see you did put it in another phone and it worked. That backs up that the issue is at&t and their hd voice upgrades. They had no explanation as to why some work and some don't, but have them make sure a profile for your phone is on the line. If not, they'll need to build one for the phone so that it''l work. At least that's the story for now. Like I said, I'll know more in a day or two.

  • I bought an iphone secondhand first generation that now has dead pixels. Impossible for me to get it replaced/fixed by Apple?

    As the title says:
I bought an iphone secondhand first generation that now has dead pixels and I'm not sure of the cause. Impossible for me to get it replaced/fixed by Apple? It's obviously more than a year old and there's no added warrantee...

To the best of my recollection, the first-generation iPhone, if that is truly what you have, was never released in Australia, so no, you probably cannot get any service from Apple for that iPhone. You may wish to confirm what model of iPhone you really do have using this information:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3939
before you proceed further. Your options will depend on what model of iPhone you really do have, and where that iPhone was originally sold (service is available from Apple only in the country in which the iPhone was originally sold).
    Regards.

  • Model A1524 not support CDMA

My iPhone 6 is model A1524, which is bought in Hong Kong. I have read the specification of the phone, learned that this model support all the network. However, it seems that it does not support CDMA network. After many times of trying, I found another note for the unlocked iPhone in the HK official website.
    About the unlocked iPhone
The unlocked iPhone includes all the features of iPhone but without a wireless contract commitment. You can activate and use iPhone on the supported GSM wireless network of your choice. The unlocked iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus will not work with CDMA-based carriers. An unlocked iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus may not support LTE networks in all other countries; contact service providers for details.
If you don’t want a multiyear service contract, or if you prefer to use a local carrier when traveling abroad, the unlocked iPhone is the best choice. It does not come with a nano-SIM card, so you’ll need to get one from any supported GSM carrier worldwide. To start using it, simply insert an activated SIM card from a compatible network. Then turn on your iPhone and follow the onscreen instructions to set it up.
Does it mean this Hong Kong A1524 has blocked CDMA network?  Is it a permanent disable by hardware or in a software way? If it is software way, can CDMA be enabled?

    Hi Ryp_Tang:
I think what that is saying is that there are actually at least 2 models of the A1524.  One that Apple created to work on as many networks worldwide as possible, and one where they took that phone and added some old CDMA circuits specifically for Sprint, US Cellular, and C Spire.  These are old circuits and all networks in the US are trying to get off of CDMA. Sprint for example is rolling out 4G over LTE and will eventually turn off all their CDMA.  I believe the special version of the phone with these CDMA bands on it can only be bought LOCKED from Sprint, US Cellular, and C Spire.  According to the new federal law, the carriers have to unlock the phones if you fully complete the contract.  By most people's definitions of that, buying the phone for full price from them SHOULD fully satisfy that requirement so they should then need to unlock the phone.  However, US networks have been playing the game of doing everything they are allowed to do to avoid letting the customer have choice in their network that it seems none of these 3 providers are allowing customers to pay them full price for the phone now!  A not so sneaky attempt to hold on to their old ways even after this Federal law has now gone into effect.  I'd love to be proven wrong on this and have someone tell me they've been able to buy an A1524 for FULL PRICE from one of these 3 networks that is LOCKED or from Apple LOCKED or UNLOCKED.  Sprint's International team have already told me they would unlock my phone if I can get anyone at Sprint to see me one.  When they said that, they thought that would be easy but telesales and Sprint's website both seem to block you from buying for full price now.
I think your safest bet is to buy from Apple and forgo these CDMA bands.  They are terribly inefficient / slow and being phased out anyway.  I do understand that you want your phone to have as many bands as possible - and I felt that way too until I remembered how painful it is to have to deal with the network providers and how nice it is to deal with Apple.  Even if you get one of these A1524 (with additional CDMA bands), you will probably have some difficulty in getting it fully unlocked (the GSM portion is easy to unlock for international use but the domestic unlock is a bit involved and problematic according to Sprint's international team), plus if you want Apple to support it, they have a like-for-like swap policy so if your phone would ever need to be swapped, you may be forced again to deal with the network provider you bought it from because Apple may not carry any of the Unlocked ones with these extra bands.
For a few more details, check this link out: http://www.techwalls.com/differences-between-iphone-6-6-plus-models/
PS - if anyone finds a place to buy the A1524 from Unlocked in the US, please let us know.  I'll be over there for several weeks and would very much like to buy one.  Or if you find it from Sprint where I could buy it for Full price but Locked and Contract Free, I'd be happy to do that too (since I trust Sprint's international team to give it their best effort to unlock the domestic side and the international side is easy to unlock and what I need more anyway).  I heard rumors that the Apple Store on 5th Avenue in New York can get the A1524 (but not the Sprint one - the one the UK and Singapore sells without those extra old CDMA bands) Unlocked for full price.  I would love to be able to get there and find out but there won't be enough time on my next US visit.
    Hope that helps,
    Kevin Q.
