Is iPhone 6 plus exchangeable if bent unintentionally?

I am living in Finland. I want to ask if my iPhone 6 Plus bent unintentionally during warranty period. Will my phone be exchanged or repaired?

Note that it is apparently up to the Genius and a visual inspection.

  • IPhone 6 Plus bent twice

    Hi,
I bought my iPhone 6 Plus 128GB on launch day and I have since had it replaced twice. The first time it had hundreds of stuck/dead pixels on the screen and the second time it was bent.
Around 2 weeks after getting the second replacement, I placed it on a table to check that it hadn't happened again. And it had, in exactly the same way (upper left hand side is bent upwards). Don't try and tell me that I am being careless or that I shouldn't be putting it in my pocket - it's a phone. I had my iPhone 5 replaced twice as well and the second time I had it replaced (again for a faulty screen), the Apple Store Genius said it was in the best condition he had ever seen for a 9 month old phone. I take a ridiculous amount of care with my products. I keep my phone in fairly loose FRONT pockets without anything else in them and there is absolutely no reason for it to be bent after only a few weeks with a case on. This happened about 4 weeks ago and since then it hasn't got worse. It seems to just bend to a certain place and then stays like that (like my previous one).
My question is, has anyone else had to get their bent 6 Plus replaced more than once, and if so, did you have to pay for the second one? Do they check for previous replacements?
    Thanks.

I always keep my phones in cases. I wouldn't risk leaving the house without one. I switch between an aluminium SGP case and the official Apple one. For it to be bending at all is ridiculous given that its a phone and they are designed (or should be designed) to be put in pockets, but to be bending when it's in an official case I find unbelivable.
It's not as if I have a 'demanding' lifestyle... I'm at university and work in retail. It's kept in an empty, large front pocket in a case. There is absolutely no reason for it to be bending. I'm a huge Apple fan and 99% of the time I will defend them but in this situation I cedtainly won't be. I spent £800 on this phone plus a contract so I expect it to be able to go in my pocket without deforming.
I was one of the people who thought it was ridiculous to claim it could bend at first, however it's undoubtedly an issue and I can't believe some are saying it's not. Regardless, I'll book an appointment whenever I have time and I'll see what happens.
It bent because excessive force or pressure was applied to the device.  That's basic physics.  My iPhone 6 Plus has not bent whatsoever, because I have not applied or allowed any excessive pressure or force.
Contact Apple for your support options.  Unless you have AppleCare+, you may be looking at an out-of-warranty/physical damage fee of $329 USD + tax.  With AppleCare+, you may be looking at only a $79 USD + tax deductible.

  • Bent in iphone 6 plus

i have purchased my iphone 6plus from USA and i am residing currently in india, there is a bent in my iphone near volume buttons , how can i get my phone replaced or fixed in india ,

The warranty on an iPhone is valid only in the country where it was originally purchased. You will want to contact Apple in the USA and see if they offer anything for you to ship it back to the US and have it diagnosed. Just be aware that when the iPhone 6 Plus came out there were a lot of people claiming their iPhones were getting bent and Apple was looking at each of those on a case-by-case basis. Since then it has been determined that quite a bit of force needs to be applied for an iPhone to bend. Independent testing shows that 90 pounds of force needs to be applied to get an iPhone 6 Plus to bend. Therefore, even if you are able to send it back to the USA for diagnosing, it may get returned to you stating that physical damage is not covered by the warranty.

  • My iPhone have bent (iphone 6 plus 64g)

I have a bent iphonee. Not a huge bend but easily perceptible.  What can I do?
Considering that I was really prudent and the iPhone was in an official iphone cover.
Please help me cause I'm pretty disappointed. I am with Apple since iPod touch 2. Never that kind of problem, and always a good warranty.

    iPhone doesn't bend itself.
So it user damage, which warranty do not cover unless you have AppleCare +.

  • Iphone 6 Plus Bend!

Using Iphone 6 plus silver 16 GB as I used to use my iphone 5s but in this case it got bend in my pocket i gav a complaint no: 749623322 first they tried to help out to replace at free of cost as it was just a bent nor a scratch or a dent or a crack on the phone verified by nearest apple service centre.
I respect apple products a lot my case was running for about two-three weeks stating u r a valued customer we will take u as an exception but later denied feeling helpless now.
I hav two ipads (ipad 1, ipad 4), one imac, one imac pr0, all family members using iphone (iphone5s 64gb,2 iphone6, 1 iphone 5).
But not happy with the service after owning the expensive smartphone phone currently in the market. :-(

  • What is to be done about the iPhone 6 plus bending

I pre order the iPhone 6 plus and yet to have my item but on searching the internet it's came across that the iPhone 6 plus is bending why being in your pocket.
now being a builder I will be cancelling my order if it don't her something is to be done to fix this problem.

This is really disappointing news.  I have seen the you tube videos showing simple hand pressure destroying the iPhone 6 Plus.  I have been waiting for my iPhone 6 Plus on order with BestBuy but honestly, this thing just bent so easily that I don't know how I can justify $1000 on a phone that is very likely to bend on me with just normal use.  You shouldn't have to put your iPhone into a military case just to keep it from bending with normal use.  I was just going to buy a silicon case to help protect against drops.  But that won't stop it from bending based on what I saw in the demonstration video.  Maybe its the curved edge combined with the pliability of aluminum alloy and the weakness where the volume controls are.  Maybe the volume controls should have been smaller and round to make it stronger.  I'd certainly rather it be heavier but unbendable.
I really miss Steve Jobs.  I don't think he would have let this phone go to market with such an easily detectable flaw and I think he would have been more demanding about bringing out a phone that truly wowed the world after such a LONG wait for the new update.  I was happy with the iPhone 6 Plus overall but I truly think Steve would have had it to market sooner and with more WOW, and without bending like cheap junk.  I know the phone is not junk but a fatal flaw like this makes it just about as useful as junk.
    **** I miss Steve Jobs.

  • Does the iphone 6 plus actually bend

I heard that the iphone 6 plus is bending with regular use. I have ordered the iphone 6 plus and just wanted to know if anyone has actually found that the phone bends. If anyone who used the 6 plus can please help me out i would really appreciate it. I am a student and have been saving for a long time to buy this a new phone I just don't want to buy a phone that could potentially bend if maybe i sit on it or if it falls.

    Hi,
like many people I was opposed to the negative press.
    however........
I really must tell you of a case. I have had a number of iphone 6 models over the last few weeks and they have all gone back for a number of issues. Overheating, broken speakers, dead pixels and buttons sticking.
I got an iPhone 6 plus that works in the end. All was good until I met with a member of the family for lunch who wanted to ask me about his iphone. He has the iPhone 6. This phone was not only bent but also twisted!
I Am OCD about my devices. He is even more so than me. His phone was in a case and tempered glass protector fitted. Having heard the news the phone was never kept in a pocket at all! I really must stress this point, he is one of the most honest people I know.
Anyway, we took the phone to the apple store in Liverpool One. The manager saw the phone was immediately shocked at its condition. Was sent to Genius Bar to get the situation sorted out. A big fat NO. Our warranty does no longer cover and bends or distortion of the handset! However, for £290 we can remedy the situation for you! After a lengthy discussion with the technician and the store manager they were adamant they would in no way assist without taking £300 off of him. They stated they had never seen a bent iphone 6 before which is baloney as have seen a number of people return them for the same issue. He is now stuck with a phone that is worthless! No re sale value whatsoever!
As a result I have returned my phone and purchased a phone from a rival manufacturer!
Having been an apple customer for over 15 years I am absolutely appealed by this. Appalled.

  • How do I create a new Apple ID for wife's new iPhone 6 Plus?

Our family has many Apple Devices (Mac Book Air, iMac, iPhone 6, iPad 3rd Gen. iPod 5th Gen. and as of today a new iPhone 6 Plus.  All of our Devices have always been using one Apple ID.  This has created zero issues until now.  With my wife's new iPhone 6 Plus I downloaded Find Friends and also Find My iPhone.  I can't find any way to set up her iPhone 6 Plus tied only to  her email address and cell phone number.  Whenever I open Find Friends on either device and select the appropriate email address it changes the other device to that email address for Find Friends.  I am beginning to think that now with two iPhones we will need to get my wife her own Apple ID.  When I went to Create an Apple ID using her email address it won't allow it because her email address is associated as an alternate under my Apple ID.  Reading Apple Support documents it shows using a common Apple ID for iTunes and App Store purchases but a separate Apple ID for iCloud if desired.  Bottom Line, I think I have to Delete her email address from My Apple ID Account so that I can use that email for her new Apple ID.  When I delete her email address from My Apple ID Account isn't that going to impact our shared Apps and iTunes Purchases?

    WiseJD wrote:

No, she can use the existing AppleID for purchasing and use her own new AppleID for content syncing. If you wish to, you can set up Family Sharing and add her to your iCloud family. That will enable you to share certain resources such as calendars.

  • IPhone 5s wireless connectivity issues, cannot upload files/state to iCloud, and supposedly needing to do so in order to get my files/state onto a new iPhone 6 Plus

I am trying to get my files from my old iPhone 5s onto my new iPhone 6 Plus. I am currently and have been using iCloud to backup my files/state. However, I believe the antenna on the iPhone 5s went kaput a few months ago, because the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, both, do not work at all, meaning, I have tried all solutions including, resetting network settings, restarting the phone, etc. This is problematic because, as far as I know the iPhone 5s needs to be connected to Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to a Wi-Fi Hotspot in order to ask the internet, in order to upload current information/state to iCloud. Herein lies my problem.
I have used iCloud already, to download my current files/state to my iPhone 6, with a caveat, these are only the files/state from before the antenna supposedly went kaput. That means, that all of my files/state since that time, while still being on my iPhone 5s, is not uploaded to iCloud, which then means I do not have it on my iPhone 6 which was updated to the most current files/state that was available at the time.
    What do I do?
I have iTunes installed on a Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 Computer, and I have made a backup on there. However, I have to admit, I find iTunes very counter-intuitive and very difficult to use/understand. And I'm mostly referring to the syncing/backing-up features. I know you have to have safe guards to protect software usage, but with this high-minded philosophy of minimalism, couldn't it be as easy as drag and drop? Even software syncing? USB syncing with iCloud, etc?

Thank you for the information. I checked out the section and read it through. From what I can gather, you can start your new iPhone from an itunes backup (Set Up Iphone > Restore from iTunes Backup), but, in my situation I need to add the Files/State from the old iPhone backup to the new iPhone that was started from scratch and has it's own unique Files/State, without subtracting from either. The problem is, that I don't want to subtract anything, and from what I understand about Syncing, if I am Syncing a new iPhone that's been started up, edited, has it's own suite of apps, etc. to an old backup of a previous iPhone, I am going to lose everything new I've done, as it will sync with the previous Files/State.

  • Iphone 6 plus echo?

Have an iPhone 6 plus.  Everyone has been complaining about hearing themselves echo while speaking to me on the other end of the call.  Anything I can do to fix this?
They complain about it regardless of whether or not I'm using my bluetooth.  Anything I can do to fix this?

    Hey dlcj21,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, you sound unclear on a call. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you isolate or resolve the issue.

  • Iphone 6 plus wifi connection not working

I don't know what the deal is but, I'm getting notifications of emails, and messages but when I go to the app I have nothing there. The problem has expanded and now apps aren't connecting to any wifi. I thought it might have been 3rd party apps, but now even the app store cannot connect. I've tried my home wifi, and my work wifi. Using my data plan, I have no problems connecting to anything. I'm thinking this is an IOS8 issue that needs a patch. If somebody has any other suggestions, I'm all ears!

Sometimes it will work on incoming calls, but will not work on text messages. I've tried soft/hard rebooting, clean wipe and fresh installs, and pretty much anything in between. Now, today I got my 128GB Gold ATT iPhone 6 Plus, and it's the same thing. Updated to iOS 8.1, reset everything/deleted all contents and settings. I've tried searching for related issues, and haven't found anything since 2011 with a quick Google search. Most links just tell you how to turn the flash alert on but no new issues. All of my devices are on iOS 8.1.  I gave my father my 64GB 5S with a clean install and he still has the issue as well. So, that makes my iPhone 6 Plus, my girls iPhone 6 and my fathers iPhone 5S not flashing LED on messages and sometimes calls. There aren't any custom vibrations enabled on any if the devices. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is it a known bug or am I just not doing something right here? i never had an issue before the iOS 8 release. Any help would be appreciated.
