Is IPhone messing up wireless network?

Devices at home keep losing the wireless connection to my shiny new BT infinity hub (replaced once) and not finding it even when I input the correct password. I'm getting the conflicting code error in wireless diagnostics report. I've got a macbook air, iMac and iPhone. I suspect the iPhone is the problem because it appeared to mess up my mate's wireless connection when I stayed with her recently. Is there any way of diagnosing incorrect settings on an iPhone that would cause havoc with a wireless environment/network?

Trouble connecting IPhone to my wireless network

I have recently experienced problems connecting my Iphone to my wireless network. I have had the phone for 3 months and this problem has only come up recently. Previously I had no problems connecting, and my girlfriend's Iphone can still get onto my network. I searched everywhere for an answer but most of them involved altering the router settings and since my gf's Iphone still connects, I don't believe it has anything to do with my router and or it's settings. I have reset my Iphone network settings before to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the Discussions Boards.
Since your girlfriend's iPhone connects to the network OK, then it's probably not a configuration or security settings issue with your wireless network.
You mentioned you've reset network settings on the iPhone, have you also updated the iPhone to the current 2.2.1 software?
Have you actually powered the iPhone off (not just putting it to sleep) since this issue began?
Are you using any type of carrying case on the iPhone? One with a magnetic component?
Intermittent connectivity can be caused by cached data on your WiFi router or modem.
Try power cycling both your WiFi router and modem by actually removing the main power cord from both for several minutes (5 minutes will successfully reset all but the most stubborn device). Power up the modem first and wait until the LEDs are done with their startup dance. Power up the WiFi router.
If you have a VoIP modem from your cable company, it may have a backup battery inside that will prevent the modem from resetting even with main power removed. That battery is generally installed under a cover on the modem. Check with your ISP for information on removing the battery if that is the case.
Out-of-date firmware on your WiFi router can cause similar behavior. If you have a combination modem/WiFi router from your ISP, check with them for any firmware updates.

IPADs and IPhones dropping off wireless network

I have a site with a number of iphones and ipads that are attaching to a Wireless network managed by a lan controller ( cisco 2504 )
but they seem to drop off every 16 minutes .... and can then get back on a few minutes later.

Cannot access iTunes on iPhone using open Wireless network at Panerra Bread

I cannot accees itunes from my 4G iphone using the Panerra Bread wireless network. I get error message: "Cannot Connect to iTunes Store". I have strong (all bars)signal on iphone for airport/wireless icon.
Please advise.

Panera Bread requires customers to agree to its wifi terms of service before being able to use their internet access.
You do this by opening MobileSafari and accessing a webpage. The router in the Panera store will divert your request for that webpage and take you to a Panera webpage where you can read and agree to the terms of service.
Once you do that you can access email, iTunes wifi store, and any other webpage.

IPhone connects to wireless network but MacBook pro won't

All,
I have just relocated to Chicago from London and
my new apartment has wireless Internet through comcast and a linksys wireless router. My iPhone picked up the network straight away and I entered the password and all is good. On the macbook though I completed all the info (802.1x) it picks up the full signal but won't get on the Internet. Am I missing something here ? I wonder whether i need to do something else ? I have tried re booting just can't understand why iPhone works and macbook pro won't

Welcome to Chicago. Everything should be pretty much plug and play. Power everything down; modem, router, MBP. Then power up the modem, wait 30 seconds; power up the router, wait 30 seconds; power up your MBP. Select your network from the pull down list under the Airport icon. If you haven't set up the router at all it probably says linksys. Put in you password if you set one up. You may need to put a $ sign first. Once connected, check System Preferences>Network>Show: Airport>TCP/IP. You should have an IP address like 198.162.1.10x.

Fun Story--IPhone Topples Windows Wireless Network!

My brother-in-law is an engineer and has an elaborate home network set up. Wireless network, home server, a PVR which connects to six tv's wirelessly with a 500 gig HD. Has their photos and mp3's on it as well as music stations and they program the recordings using either the tv or the web. My sis has been waxing poetic on it for months! My b-i-l also thinks Apple is a cult--I've tried to tell him to come over to the dark side, but still he resists!
Anyway, I went to visit (me and my iphone) for the holidays. they had recorded tons of holidays specials for us all to watch. But, the network kept getting thrown off whenever we were watching a recording--not live TV. It would stop playing the recorded show and we'd have to restart the network. They swore it had never happened before. So . . . what's different?
We began eliminating things and what we came up with was when my phone was completely off (turning off the wireless and the bluetooth seemed to have no effect) then the recordings played fine. If I was upstairs, and they tried to play a recording, I'd hear "Aunt Sharon! Turn off your iphone!" Only the recordings seemed to get thrown off. And they've had no problems since I left, like before I arrived--all is well!
Weirdest thing! Thought folks here might enjoy it! Anyone have any idea why? Or had a similar experience? I had the wireless turned off at the house to start with, because getting my laptop on their network is a hassle and I didn't want to deal with trying to get the phone on. I don't find the Edge network to be that slow. IPhone works fine on my airport network and on the school wireless, definitely NOT mac friendly. B-i-L uses linksys hardware for all the routers and the server uses windows xp software.

I have a similar situation. If my iPhone is on, I cannot connect my VPN on my MacBookPro, although my airport works fine for the internet. Turn the iPhone off, VPN is fine. Also I cannot connect to XBox live when the phone is on, fine when it's off. It must be somthing within our router but haven't taken it any further yet - easier just to turn the phone off if necessary.

Itunes is not finding my iPhone 4s via wireless network

As of about three days ago my iphone is not syncing with itunes wirelessly. My iphone showed up on itunes but wouldn't sync; now it doesn't even show up. Anyone else have this problem? Any resolution? Thanks.

On the Mac, wi-fy sync requires Bonjour. Bonjour requires IPv6. IPv6 MUST be enabled in the Network panel of System Preferences.
For me, just doing this solved the wi-fi sync problem. When I made that change, my iPad and iPhone both appeared immediately in iTunes.

Has the firmware upgrade on the time capsule been fixed to allow iphones on the wireless network? I reloaded the previous firmware edition and it fixed the problem. thx

I checked beofre on the support communities when I was having trouble with the iphone 4 not being able to connect to the time capsule wireless after upgradeing the firmware. When I reloaded the previous firmware version, the iphone wireless problem was gone. Now the time capsule is asking to upgrade to that same newer version of firmware.
I don't want to do it until the iphone 4 wireless connection problems have been addressed. thanks

No, if you have not provided them with the Time Capsule device password.
Users will be able to "see" the Time Capsule icon under the SHARED heading in the Finder on their Macs, but they will not be able to access the drive or the files.
I had also been thinking about wirelessly extending the wifi network (a linksys N router) but I guess that will allow everyone to access my Time Capsule?

Can not use imessage/facetime on new iPhone 5 and can not get iPhone 4s and 5 to remember any wireless networks.

Two weeks ago I got an iPhone 4s and an iPhone 5 from a local carrier in central and eastern Kentucky called Appalachian Wireless. We had our numbers ported with AT&T. My iPhone 4s can use imessage/facetime but my wife's iPhone 5 can not. It just says waiting for activation and after several hours it will then say activation unsuccessful please turn imessage/facetime off and back on to activate. When we got the iPhones my carrier said it could take 30 days to activate due to our numbers being ported. My 4s took less than 3 hours to activate imessage/facetime but my wife's 5 still hasn't activated. A few days ago we went back to our carrier to get a problem fixed with our regular text messaging and we informed of our problem with imessage/facetime and they told us the most it has taken to activate was 2 days. I know I can use an apple id/e-mail to use imessage/facetime but I want her number to show up. Also neither iPhone will remember our wireless network. Every time we leave our house and come back we have to go to settings and choose our network. Is there a way I can fix these problems and have her imessage/facetime activated and use her phone number and have our iPhones remember our wireless network?

In hotel w/wireless network. ATV finds network, but does not ask me for password, so can't communicate through network. MacBook Air, iPad and 2 iPhones connected to hotel wireless, but ATV does not ask me for the password. Any ideas?

I have succesfully connected a MacBook Air, an iPad and two iPhones to the wireless network in this hotel. Apple TV can see the network and "connects" to the network, but w/o asking for password. I expected to see a screen immediately after selecting the network that asked me for the password as did all of my other devices. ATV did not ask me for a password. When I go to Settings>General>Network, it shows the name of the hotel wireless network, but I can't communicate with the network. It can't set date and time. When I try to enter my Apple account name and password, it tells me it can't log in w/o setting date and time.
Any ideas on how to connect to this network?

I am having the same problem. In my hotel when I connect my laptop a screen will pop up and you have to hit the button "I Accept Terms". However I can't do that with the ATV. I called the internet provider and they said they could not help me. Any ideas? Do you think the guy just doesn't know what he can do for me? I am thinking I will call later and hope to get a different technician who might know how to help connect me.

Lots of iPhones / iPads on the network forcing iTunes to open?

I work in a big office, there are lots of us with iPhones and iPads running iOS5... since the upgrade, my iTunes seems to want to open at random every few minutes. I assume it's when any iPhone hits the wireless network and then iTunes thinks that it has to WiFi Sync.
It's driving me mad.
Yes, I have checked -> "Preferences -> Devices -> Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically"
But it still opens at random!
I can further this problem by saying that iScrobbler (Last.fm app) also detects when an iPhone has hit the network and tries to send playlists to the server.
Last night I ran a test. I took my iPhone home with me and kept my office computer on. iTunes was closed. When I returned in the morning, iTunes had reopened. It's not my phone causing the problem.
Anyone else had this symptom?

Thanks for the update. Since those steps have not helped in resolving your issue, the only other option to try is Restoring your Apple TV. The steps to perform that are found in this article:

Extending an existing wireless network using Time Capsule

I connected my Time Capsule via Ethernet cable to my network. I used the airport utility to extend my existing wireless network (Cisco router)k. After that my wireless devices were disconnected and I got a message stating "Unable to join wireless network". The macbook that I used to set up the Time Capsule showed a message along the lines that a device on the network was trying to use the macbook's IP address, I changed the macbooks IP address and then was able to connect my ipad and iphone to the wireless network but the connection was unusable as it was so slow. has anyone done this successfully and if so do you have nay advice

If you connect the TC to the network by ethernet you do not extend an existing networking.. indeed you cannot.. only works with apple routers and no ethernet.
You create a wireless network.. you can use roaming .. ie use the same wireless name and security settings as the existing Cisco router but you must set different channels.
If you need instructions in that setup what version airport utility are you using. I would strongly recommend a version 5.. it is so superior cf toyland v6.

Doing a Google Search on Iphone or Ipad chokes my wireless network!

Almost every time I do a google search in safari on my Iphone5 or Ipad2 (happened with ios 5&6), it chokes my wireless network. I am still connected, just not going anywhere. Found this article that said to change DNS entries to googles 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.8.4 but IT STILL CHOKES! Do you have the google app on your phone? if so i saw where somewhere else posted that if they had the google app open and not signed out of google in the app ( and not closed at the bottom, how you double tap the home button and close the apps ) then it would cause this issue also.
