Is is possible to edit auto complete tags?

Hello.
I want to edit the tags that are used to auto complete, for
instance:
If I type < div >, auto complete will close the tab
What I want is when I type < div >, I would like auto
complete to do this:
< div style="" > < /div >

How do I disable auto complete in the Mail program?

I have to type e-mail in more than one language on my iPod Touch, and Mail's auto complete feature is causing me a lot of trouble. It's making ridiculous word suggestions and typing these words if I don't touch a teeny-tiny X in the auto complete tag. The X is so small that often as not my finger ends up confirming the suggestion, rather than deleting it.
For example, if I have to type the German word "kann" (which I very often have to, because it means "can"), the Mail program types in the name of the Indian language "Kannada", which I NEVER need.
One solution would be to switch the language settings before typing e-mails, but that takes too much time, and the iPod Touch doesn't have support for some of the languages I have to type.
How can I just disable that auto complete feature? I don't see it in the manual.

Settings -> General -> Keyboard -> Auto-Correction -> OFF.
But this is a global setting, not just for the Mail app.

Java Editor - auto complete

i'm looking for a FREE lightweight java editor that supports auto-complete and possibly code generation.
auto-complete is when you type the object and a dot, the editor pop-up a window listing all methods available for you to use.
code generation (or whatever it is called) is like a template that i can use....like i type in tryc and a space and it will create a try{ } catch{} block for me
by lightwieght, i mean th eeditor is small and does not requires a lot of memory to run. don't want a full blown editor like Eclipse, JBuilder, NetBean (they're too resource hungry). something like JCreator and TextPad. My computer is old (PIII 733 mhz, 384MB RAM)..yes, my computer motherboard only allows up to 384 MB of RAM ..this sucks when RAM is soooo cheap.
i check with most free editor, but to get auto-complete and code generation...you have to pay for it...so i'm wondering if anyone knows of a FREE one?

Use the Plug-In Manager (Plugins menu item) to review the available plugins. Click the Install tab and highlight the name, it'll display a description.
There's a couple of auto completes - I use Dot Complete (it has a minor glitch starting, I have to click Complete to get it to start)
There's a number of template facilities, both built in and as plugins.

Editing Multiple .AVI Tags

Please excuse my noob behavior, as this is my first post! I would like to know if it is possible to edit multiple .AVI tags simultaneously. There are several programs out there that do this for Windows. Thus far I have been unable to locate equitable software for Mac OSX. Am I missing something here, is this easier than I think? Thanks for your guidance!

ID3 tags are contained in a file, so to change them, you will have to reupload.
The iTunes U web services API does let you change a lot about the way things are displayed within the iTunes Store ... but using them may not seem simple unless you have a web services/XML guru handy. If you are such a guru, then you want to check out Chapter 6 of the iTunes U admin guide.

Where has text auto complete gone in new numbers

Before I upgraded to new Numbers yesterday 24/10/2013 it was possible to have auto complete suggest words
previously typed in cells. This feature does not seem to exist in the latest version of numbers

Apple seems to be actively developing iWorks apps again after a long hiatus. The big push has been to make the apps work well with both Macs and iOS devices, something that MS has not been able to match. The tradeoff so far has been elimination of some features that are hard to implement in iOS. Apple has announced in this support document that auto-complete and several other features will be reintroduced, however.
But even after "auto-complete" is brought back you might want to consider formatting the cells in the column as Pop-Up Menu if you frequently enter repeating values in a column and don't want to type the same text over and over again.
In many situations, particularly if you want to avoid typos or capitalization inconsistencies creeping in and messing up your data, Pop-Up Menu is better than "auto-complete." It is much enhanced over what it was in Numbers 2.3, and is easy to set up:
Select the whole column or range before formatting as Pop-Up Menu and your existing values in that column or range will pre-populate a menu automatically:
Then you can remove the values you don't want in the list, such as the column header (and possibly some previous spelling errors too!):
And after this easy one-time setup all you have to do thereafter is to choose from the pop-up list when you add rows:

If you want to use Numbers on an iPad or iPhone, in a touch interface pop-ups are far more efficient than typing the first few letters of items. You can scroll with ease through a list of dozens of items to make a pick. Anybody using Numbers cross-platform should favor Pop-Up so they can use their documents efficiently for data input on the go, which can be a productivity booster.
Also, auto-complete is not as good a choice as Pop-Up Menu even for keyboard-intensive work on the Mac if you've got numerous hard-to-spell values, particularly if some are capitalized and some not, where the capitalization can be significant. The Pop-Up Menu approach, unlike auto-complete, eliminates spelling inconsistencies or lack of capitalization when there should be capitalization, etc.

Editing the auto complete dictionary?

Hello All, Was wondering if there's a way to edit the auto complete dictionary on the E6/Symbian ^3/Symbian Anna? There is an auto complete dictionary editor available from Beta labs, but is incompatible with the E6. I seem to remember that the trick in earlier versions of Symbian phones was to connect the phone in USB mass storage mode and then edit a file. Don't remember the name of the file at the moment. Does any one remember this? Thanks!

There is always choice of deleting predic folder and restart to make it build from scratch.

Dreamweaver does not auto-complete /script tag

Dremaweaver CS5 Version 11.0 Build 4993 - does not close script tag. I type <script> include the text then type </ and the Script tag is NOT closed.
When I type </ the script tag should complete and close automatically.
So, for example:
<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript">
function closeThisWindow() {
window.close();
</
I have to type </script> because it does not auto-complete.

Ok, Jon, thank you. I've not used a lot of </ within the scripts that I've written so, so far, that hasn't been a problem for me. Your explanation makes sense though. It also explains why it works if you select the option to: close after typing the opening tag's ">". Because once the opening and closing tags have been populated, entering </ would have no effect on the scripot tag at all.

Auto-completion does not involve the dictionary. The process is dynamic, and remembers the text string you have entered into each cell. The auto completion list is constructed using data you have entered into cells above the one you are currently working with. Suggestions presented contain the same character string as a previous entry in that column. Editing the list presented is not possible.
Auto-Correction does involve the spelling dictionary. It monitors the text as you type. If it finds an 'unregognized word,"' AND has more than one suggestion as to the 'correct' word, it opens a dialogue, giving you a chance to choose one of the suggestions, enter your own corection, or to accept the current spelling. If there is only one suggestion offered, Auto-correction automatically replaces the unrecognized word wth that suggestion.

ADF: auto complete in tutorial does not work

Hi all,
I'm studying ADF tutorials. Developing Rich Web Applications with Oracle ADF tutorial has a sample of Auto-complete property. I followed the tutorial from the first step but cannot go further because At Part 3, Step 3 it is not possible to drag an Autocomplete Behaviour onto Combobox. Futhermore in the screenshots, it seems possible to type into Combobox which i never see such an example before.

I finally found a way to correct it. When you drag and drop the whole view, JobID is type of Combo Box but it should be Input List of Values (Combo Box). To solve this you need to only delete that combo box (not the whole structure) and drag and drop the Job ID again. This time select List Of Values so it becomes a combo box with editable area. This part is not mentioned in the tutorial makes the confusion.
Edit: I just see your edit, the forum link points out the same problem. This is the workaround. Unfortunately one of the basic tutorials of Oracle ADF is confusing.

Where is the IPTC auto complete function in Photoshop CC 2014?

I miss a function in the IPTC file info since my company upgraded from Photoshop CC to Photoshop CC 2014. In the past the description had a auto complete function, which is a really good function when you have to edit multiple images with the same description. Is it possible to get this option back in CC 2014?

So what we are talking about is the "Auto Complete" feature in the File > Info form in Photoshop.
Yes it has been taken out in CC 2014 and it may not be convenient to move your work over to CC for that one feature.
You can submit it as a feature request here: Photoshop Family Customer Community
That forum would be the best for reporting it.

Auto Complete/fill

I have a couple of cells that keep filling in information (anticipating what I am writing) on a spreadsheet that I use daily I do not want it to do this, how can I turn it off for those cells? If I type 3...it puts 30....the remainder of my address, same for a couple of other digits as well. I want to just be able to type what I need without any assumptions as to what i want

Is it possible to edit the list that Numbers uses to auto-complete? I like the feature for the majority of the spreadsheet, but in one cell (and a different column & row), I typed '75 to 71 to 75'. I will probably never type that again in a cell. However, I regularly type just '75'. This is where Numbers wants to auto-complete with '75 to 71 to 75' and I have to hit delete to clear it. I know it's a small inconvenience, but I like and use auto-complete on some of the other cell with different content, so I'd prefer to keep it activated. Thanks!

Why is the email address in the To: box red when auto-completed from Address Book?

Not aware of this problem in prior issues!
Problem occurs when starting to type receipient in "To" box.
Have "Home Address Book" no "Personal Address Book" no "Collected Addresses".
Should I export and rename "Home Address Book" then import it back in as "Personal Address Book" to be properly recognized by the auto-completion "To" entry?

Have tried to eliminate possibility of corrupt *.mab files by exporting personal address book to another folder as *.ldif, then closed TB, then deleted all *.mab files in profile directory, then restarted TB, then imported the *.ldif into TB as my personal address book.
TB recognises addresses but auto complete still insists on marking "To" text to red.

The following workaround provides a way to ignore addressbook match:- Go to Edit/Preferences/Advanced/General/Config_Edit Search for 'mail.autoComplete.highlightNonMatches' set it to 'false' This worked for me on Xubuntu.

Auto Completion in new IDE

Hello,
I have a question regarding the new ABAP IDE.
When I type ABAP code in the workbench there is this great new feature of auto completion.
Example:
I type: SELECT *
Then press CTRL+SPACE
Now there is this overlay menu coming up.
Is there any possibility to get this to work for (own) classes as well? Say have a real intellisense as in nearly every other IDE.
I suppose there has to be some customizing for it somewhere as the values have to come into the overlay menu.
Any pointers are highly appreciated as the missing auto completion really is slowing down my work. ABAP OO can be a pain in ***.
Oh before I forget: I do not mean the code patterns. I know how to edit those.

nope that is explicitly not what I meant. As pointed out I know about this button and the functionality is not there.
It is true, there are options how the auto completion behaves. What I want is to know where it is defined what gets auto completed.
Why is a "SELECT * " autocompleted? Where is this defined?
Example:
When I type: SELECT *
and press CTRL+SPACE I get an overlay menu offering me different choices how to go on. A lot like intellisense known from microsoft and a lot of other IDEs.

[Solved] ZSH auto-completion in BASH?

Hi everyone, I'm using BASH but I really like the way ZSH handles auto completion. For instance, in BASH, if I type vi and press [Tab], it shows my possible options but my cursor makes a new line. Therefore, if I press [Tab] again, the same thing will be created over and over. What I like about ZSH auto-completion is that when I press tab, the auto-completion fills the screen, but my cursor doesn't jump to a new line. Therefore, the actual output of the command and the [Tab] auto-completion output occupy the same space. Does anyone know a way I could have BASH perform in a way similar to this?

I'm trying out zsh thus far and I'm liking it. It's rather easy to use and has most of the good features of BASH as well as some other nice ones I didn't have before (including the way it does tab completion and right side prompts).

How to delete the existing list and prevent auto-completed web sites?

Hi, As soon as I start to type "www" in the address bar, a list of previously visited web sites appears, as if auto-completed. They seem rather random, and not necessarily the most recent ones. I have tried resetting Safari, deleting the cache, looking these sites up in the various plist folders in the Library, using Safari in Private mode, etc. but it still happens. I find it a nuisance.
How do I delete the existing sites, and how do I prevent more from appearing in the future?

Click where it says: Edit
You can Remove All or edit which url's you don't want.
