720 is on sale for about 11 months now & its perfect for me but for 512mb ram. with mwc 2014 it MAY get 1gb successor and ram matters even wid nokia apps (refocus,beamer) so shud i or shud i not buy 720 ryt now???

Only Apple knows when new models will be introduced and they only will tell on the day of release. If the current crop of models fulfill your needs, purchase one. If not, you are welcome to wait but you will not know for how long.

actually i want to go for ipod classic 80gb....and found many bugs related to the classic....so i jus want to ask is it the right time to buy it or shuld i wait for sum time to let apple solve all issues with classic.I mean if the issues are only software related then they can be solved easily by updates but if the issues are hardware related then i think i should prefer to wait for some time..

A lot of the problems seem to me like they could be fixed by firmware updates, but I guess really only apple can answer that.. Like it could be that firmware updates can squeeze more performance out of the hardware and speed up the interface, but then maybe not.. And some of the other issues are not bugs as such but just things set up differently (like the clock screensaver) I would maybe try and have a go on one if you can and see what you reckon..

Right time to buy?

I am doing Web Development at University and I am thinking about getting the Adobe Web Premium Student package for £202 on amazon but is this the right time to buy. Ie if I left it until a certain date would I get a free CS5 upgrade? Like what laptop users got before Windows 7 came out?

Depends when you need it and what you'll use it for.
Looking at past release dates:
CS shipped Sep 03
CS2 shipped April 05
CS3 shipped April 07
CS4 shipped Oct 08
IF Adobe sticks to the established 18-24 month upgrade cycle, CS5 may ship somewhere between April 2010 and Oct 2010.
But only Adobe knows the true shipping date for CS5 and things may change.
Bear in mind though that there may be no compelling features in CS5 that you'll need. Unless you just want the latest and greatest.

Ok well you need to get your facts straight. You say the reason to upgrade to OS 4 but half of these have to do with the new iPhone 4 and not the OS. Two totally different issues

Almost certainly the Time, *Time Zone* and/or *Daylight Savings* settings +in the phone+ are incorrect for your location.
First set the Time Zone and Daylight Savings for your location, then adjust the Time if necessary. Finally, re-sync the phone.

Ical update question show the right time in dock

Hey I read some where that apple had an update for ical that showed the right day and month in the dock instead of the july 17 date it has always had. I ran all my osx updates and the ical date is still july 17. Is ther something I have to do in order to get it to show the right date. I know when i have it open it has the right date. But I don't want to leave it open all day. Can anybody give me any info thanks

Unfortunately there is no such update.
I have placed iCal in my Login Items (System Preferences...>Accounts>My Account>Login Items>Hide [✓ ]).
iCal is always available for use and the date in the Dock is always correct. I can switch to iCal at any time and when I am done consulting iCal I use the (⌘+H) command to hide iCal without quitting. Leaving it open but hidden is the price you must pay to see the current day in the Dock.
You can submit OS X Feedback with your personal recommendation for your desired method of implementation.

One published event doesn't show the right time

Hi all,
I have a published calendar. Created localy on my MacBook.
When I go on the web page to see this calendar, very strangely one of the events shows 13:00 on the online calendar but should be at 14:00 (as created in iCal localy). All the other events are all right.
Tried to delete the event and re-create from scratch. Tried to copy/paste another event at the same time from another day. Not solved the problem. Even after republishing and reloading the web page several times.
It's very strange that one and only one event has this time bug...
It's correctly synced on MobileMe. It's only the published version that has this bug.
Any idea ?
It's annoying because it's a calendar I published for professional purposes...

I've had FCP lock up on me several times. The cause seems to always be 1. That I've got a ton of unrendered stills in the timeline, 2. The project is rather large, with a lot of old sequences. FCP can only access so much ram. Stills are only virtual media clips until you render them, but FCP had to create them and hold them in a cache until you do render them. FCP remembers, IN ACTIVE RAM, every cut, transition, every sequence whether active or not, every filter used, audio levels, all the clip info itself-- and a bunch of stuff you or I will never know.
When you start reaching the limits of what FCP can handle, wonky stuff starts happening.

Is it the right time for me to get SAP SD Certification?

Greetings everyone!!!
For the past few days, I have been thinking alot about taking my career to a new step and get SAP SD certification.
But before venturing further into it, let me briefly explain about my Background.
I am a marketing Post Graduate and an MBA with an Experience of 10 months in the field of Sales and Business Development, in the Wellness Industry. (I have attached my curriculum vitae for you all to study and help me in selecting the right path)
As of now, I think of two possible ways of going about the SAP Certification. (Since I have more or less decided to do it anyway)
1. To get more experience in the domain and then get the certification
2. To get the certification right away
I should also declare this before hand that i have no hands on experience with any of the ERP software in practice today. But i do know little bit about Tally. And, if I have to get that before taking us SAP Certification, then that would mean searching for a new job and working in the new job for some time to get to know the basics.
Also, after visiting the SAP Academy in my city, they offered me two options -
a) ILT (Instructor Led Training)
b) E Learning
I wanted to know if there will be a vast difference between the learning outcome from these two, and which one should i prefer joining. Its just that, If i go for the ILT, I will have to quit my job, where as on the other hand, I can pursue the course without leaving the job, but within 200 Hrs of Campus E Learning.
Also, considering my background, is Sales and Distribution the correct module for me or should i consider doing any other course.
Apart from all the above, is there ANYTHING ELSE i am missing?

generally SD modules are taken by MBA or related professionals because of having a domain knowledge in Sales and Distribution area, so your choice is good, however there are some more functional module exits in SAP which can be taken as an career option like CRM etc, for details about the major SAP functional module you can search on Google on in SCN.
When it comes to taking a training , you can opt for weekends classes as it is a suitable option for a working proffessional, the concern is that while having a online training , you may face some problem in which online suggestion will not provide you any fruitful meanings as your learnings, so a classroom training should be prefferable.
As you have working experiences so i will suggest you to take training from any authorised training center, ask the councellor that you wants weekends classes so that your present work will not get interrupted.
Finally, SD module is a right choice for you but once you should search some more major module that may suits you, because in SD there are so many people already working, but its not the case with CRM.

Why don't my photos change at the right time in my iMovie HD?

I have searched other people's questions like this and no one has gotten a straight answer. I've imported photos to iMovie HD and set them up to run for 3 seconds each, but when I press play to preview them, they don't change at 3 seconds. Some don't change for 5 seconds, others show up for a split second and disappear into the next photo because all the photos are behind. The playhead runs over each photo, but the image displayed doesn't change when the clip does. What am I missing?
Please help if you can! I need to finish this wedding slideshow for my wedding on Friday.

I would just like anyone else with this problem to know that I found a solution. Not sure if it's the right one, or the one you're looking for, but it at least plays your photos on time!
Instead of setting your photos for 3 seconds (if that's roughly how long you want them to play), instead you need to set them for a longer period (say, 6-7 seconds) and then add transitions in between photos. For myself, I added Cross Dissolve at 2 seconds for each transition and, viola, I now have a 3 second clip of my photo in between the crossovers between each photo. I hope this makes sense. Apparently iMovie prefers if the photos are completely professional, not just half there with regular choppy transitions!

My iphone 3gs has started showing the wrong time and date. All was fine until this afternoon when it changed. My apps have the right time and date. However the world clock is wrong. I have to turn off the automatic time setting to get the right time.

My iphone is showing the wrong time and date. All was well until sometime this afternoon when it changed... to Nov 5 (2 days prior to today), and about 9 hours and some minutes before the actual time. The world clock for my time zone shows the same wrong date and time. My calender shows the same wrong date and time. The phone can not find my time zone any more. The only fix I found was to turn off the automatic setting for time. What is happening? Ideas?

then turned it off then on tapped time zone and typed london

Icloud calender is not syncing the right times to my phone.

The times of my appointments when entered correctly onto Icloud is synced to my iphone 4 but the times will be off by three hours on my phone and when adjusted to the correct time on my phone the times are now off by three hours on icloud. How can I fix this

Bought wrong e-SATA PCI Card and seek advice on the right one to buy

I have a MacPro bought in 2006 with Intel Processor but still having the old MAC OS X 10.4.11 Tiger version.

But I realised first that I could not insert it. The distance between the slots in the mother board and the external exit whole to fix the card and not compatible (card too short). Furthermore the card specs says that it requires max OS 5 version or later.
So what do you recommend that would go physically in the slot and at the same time fitting with my MAC OS 4.11 version ? This card is to be used to connect external drives suing e-SATA connections.

Nothing wrong with using that card in your Mac Pro. The card will fit in your MP's slots, so if you are unable to seat it then you aren't doing something correctly. The specs say the card is backward compatible with PCI-e 1.0 slots.
You will have to upgrade your OS to the requisite version. Given the cost of Leopard you may wish to instead upgrade to Snow Leopard.

Is now the right time for me to buy?

i've been using windows since 1995... however, i have had some brief encounters with apple desktops.
so, within about a month, i'll be needing a laptop. and, i figured, why not the cool macbook? but, since i started reading these columns daily, horror stories more like it, sould i rethink my new upcoming purchase?
i was going to opt for the 1.83ghz, 1gig memory, 100gig hard drive, and the apple care protection plan.
but, being totaly new to apple computer, and reading about the problems, i need help.

Sorry to say, but I completely disagree on the upgrade issue. These macbooks are not too snappy without atleast a gig of RAM. I ordered 2 gigs form this site http://eshop.macsales.com/MyOWC/Upgrades.cfm?model=248&type=Memory&TI=%23TimeFor mat%28Now%28%29%2C&shoupgrds=ShowUpgrades
And before i installed it i downloaded istat pro and it said that there was NEVER any free ram...NEVER. So the programs were not as quick as i would have expected for a 1,300 computer. I then put the 2gigs in and did some more testing. I found that the processor reached deep into the 2 gigs just running iTunes, Firefox, and garageband. So the 1gb is absolutely without a doubt a must, and if your willing to shell out the extra hundred, the 2 gigs. It surprised me a whole lot when the processor took advantage of the 2gbs. Most windows machines never go use 2 gbs. It was a pleasent surprise to see that my investment paid-off.
I say go for the 2 gigs of RAM

When is the best time to buy a refurbished MacBook Pro?

I'm a new college student, and I'm looking to buy a Mac that will last me throughout college, at the best possible price.
I'm completely fine with purchasing a refurbished model, and right now I can get a large (for Apple, anyway) discount on a refurbished MacBook Pro, 13", 500GB, i5, with 4GB RAM. But I'm not sure if this will be able to suit my needs, or if I should opt for something a bit more expensive, even if that means I should wait.
I plan on installing Windows 7, with a 25% partition (I'll use Mac for my own personal things, but Windows for some functions).
I own an iPhone 5 and iPad 3 (WiFi), so I don't plan on taking it with me every day.
I live in Arizona, so the summer heat can be an issue.
I plan on using this MacBook Pro for at least 5 years.
So, I'd like to know:
Should I buy the AppleCare now, later, or not at all? I want to make sure it's covered in the event of damage or defects:
Should I wait to buy a refurbished model until after the new MacBook Pros are released later this year?
Should I opt for an i7 processor, since I plan on dual-booting with Windows 7? Does it make a noticeable difference, compared to the i5?
Will 500GB be enough space? I feel like it should be more than enough.
Should I wait until the new MacBook Prod are released, or should I take advantage of the college sale that's being offered?

That's a perfect computer for your uses, and you won't have any problem. Also, if you need, you can add more RAM (looking at your specs, 16 GB of memory) and a hard drive (HDD or SSD, or even replace the optical drive to put a second HDD). I think it will be useful for 5 years or more.

It's important to buy AppleCare with a portable Mac. Near everything is soldered and repairs are expensive, so it's better to get it. You can get it at any moment during the first year of warranty, but note that accidental damages will void your warranty.

There's no need to wait for new MacBooks Pro, more when we don't know when they will be released. I don't think the refurbished MacBook Pro you want will be cheaper then.

There's a difference between an Intel Core i5 and a i7, but you will only note it if you have special needs, like using heavy apps that require a high CPU load. Most users are not going to use this type of applications. Also, if you need to use this type of apps, the 15-inch MacBook Pro is better.

For most users, 500 GB are enough and you will have hundreds of free GBs. If you don't have enough space, get an external drive. It's recommended to get one at least to make backups of your files.

Right time to buy a new MBP?

I am looking to buy a new MBP, but I was wondering if the time is right? Are they about to release a new model or should I go ahead and buy one now?
