i try to run a map with a loading type (update/insert),but i have this warning when deploying the map,although i ran this map before successfully before..
deploying the same map a gain having this warning...

interesting, you passed as "localhost" not an actual localhost's name. I mean hostname, you s/d always represent Hostname's value not 'localhost' as value for oracle database which is mandatory, which is not mandatory when you go with oracle application, audit browsers... and etc

You may only update pre-installed software from the same Apple ID you used when it was downloaded from the App Store. You need to sign into the App Store using that same Apple ID you used when you registered your original purchase with Apple.

Is this a bug in OWB 11.2 - importing table metadata for character columns

The Oracle® Warehouse Builder Data Modeling, ETL, and Data Quality Guide provides an overview of the data types supported.

It says that for VARCHAR2 data type it saws (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/owb.112/e10935/orcl_data_objx.htm#CHDFIADI )
"Stores variable-length character data. How the data is represented internally depends on the database character set. The VARCHAR2 data type takes a required parameter that specifies a maximum size up to 4,000 characters"
That means , I guess, it says that when I import a table, any columns of type VARCHAR2(10) in the database should have its length show as characters in OWB, so a column of type Varchar2(10) in the Oracle database, should be shown as Varchar2(10) when imported into OWB table metadata via the OWB import function.
However, if I have a database that set-up as a single-byte and import a table using the OWB import function a column that has a size of e.g. 10 in the database, is imported as OWB table metadata and the size is 10. Correct, I am happy.
However, if the database is modified to support multi-byte characters, ALTUF16 encoding with the semantics set to "CHAR", then when I import the same table into OWB, OWB reports the size as 40, I guess its 40 bytes as in 10 characters @ 4 bytes per character.
Is this a bug in OWB, as the datatype in the Oracle DB is varchar2(10), should OWB after importing a table not also report the column as VARCHAR2(10) ? Currently, is shows the column as varchar2(40).

I noticed that myself in our project.
Our varchars2 are defined as VARCHAR2(xxx CHAR) - OWB puts the size*4
In fact if you have special characters like umlauts (ü,ä,ö,...) it will use 4 bytes per character.
You can try it yourself. Define a Varchar2(1 CHAR) and manually change the size of the Column in your mapping inside OWB (in filters, joins or your target table).
Then shoot an umlaut through the mapping and will end up with a "too small" error.
Dont mind the size*4 issue - we totally ignored it and run without error since 4 years now.

I want to share one strange expiriance of OWB. We were suppose to deploy the code on client site. Hence we installed OWB on server and then we need to create runtime repository. I have created runtime repository on the server by passing "localhost" . But when i gone for deploying and execution of the code i got the error "Runtime services not available" .
After lot of (wasted) effort we finally created new runtime repository but now with IP address of the server and then all worked fine.
Is this a bug in OWB? any comments ....or any suggestions as to what else could be the issue?

Bug in OWB 10gR2: Several Loading Properties after sync

Hi,
we recognize a possible bug in owb, can anybody please approves this behaviour?
Every column of a table in an owb mapping has fourr loading properties:
- Load Column When Updating Row (YES/NO, default YES)
- Match Column When Updating Row (YES/NO, default NO)
- Load Column When Inserting Row (YES/NO, default YES)
- Match Column When Deleting Row (YES/NO, default NO)
These properties are stored as a record in the repository and references the column. If you change one of the values, this record will be updated in the repos. But if you do a "synchronize" for the table, you get a second record - for each sync one more! Updates changes only the latest record!
If you copy a mapping (using "Cut"/"Copy" and "Paste") or do an import/export the owb uses not the latest record, he choose one of them by chance. So you cannot easily reproduce this error and the mappings probably don't do what they should.
What are your experiences - do you recognize this too?

Update:
The sync process essentially creates orphaned records within the repository which unfortunately get exported/imported into the next repository, making it random which child detail record gets imported last. This phenomenum is what makes the "Yes/No" attributes somewhat unpredictable. OWB 10.2.0.4 includes a bugfix for this.
There is a cleanup script from oracle for existing repositories I have attached this script with the caveat that you should make a complete repository backup before proceeding. This script also allow you to run it in "test-only" mode to see how many bad records will be removed.

Are you sure about your FTP credentials (FTP folder and site URL) that you are using for the upload? Are you able to see the updated files in the remote directory of the FTP server, after you finish uploading the muse file, using an external FTP client like FileZilla?

Select the number 7 with the arrow tool. Observe the location of the cursor
Click-drag the selection and closely watch the cursor.
The cursor no longer is in the same relative position. relative to the object selected.
This is particularly annoying when zoomed into the "7".
The precision is necessary for commands that we are implementing that require the cursor position relative to the object selected to be exact.

Not entirely sure I follow your instructions. One thing I do note is the initial starting position of the "7" differs when I compare Firefox (17 or 10) with Chrome. Is that relevant ?
I wonder if part of the difference may be in how differing browsers cope with the code. I am not a developer and do not know how relevant this is but I note if I try the validator http://validator.w3.org/unicorn/ it is returning some errors.
If you do think there is a bug try to make a simple test-case that demonstrates this and post in [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/ bugzilla]. If this appears to be a regression it would be handy to pin it down at least to a particular Firefox version, although users should not now be using Firefox 6-9. (Drill down from [https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/ here] if you need an old version of Firefox to run tests with)

Bug in screensaver OR graphic card? Help me figure this out

I have a 15" MacBook Pro 2.66 GHz purchased in late September 2009. There is an odd bug that shows up in the mosaic screensaver (the one that represents one of your iPhoto pictures using a mosaic of your other photos) when I use the "Better Graphics" settings. If you have a similar computer, see if you can replicate this bug and let me know I'm not crazy...
This 10.6 standard screensaver shows a single picture, then zooms out to show that picture as part of a mosaic that represents one of your other pictures in iPhoto. When the photo mosaic is complete, it gradually dissolves into the actual photo, then repeats the process using that photo as part of a mosaic.
This screensaver works perfectly when running on the default NVIDIA GeoForce 9400M graphics card. When I switch to "Higher Performance" graphics and use the NVIDIA GeoForce 9600M GT card, the final image before the dissolve flips upside down, then dissolves into a right-side-up version of the image and starts the mosaic process again. Very odd!
I have noticed no other issues on my computer when using "Higher Performance" graphics, but this one is weird and disturbing because it is in an Apple screensaver. Any thoughts or experiences with this?

Does the same thing happen on any other books that you have in the app ? If not then it's probably just that one book, in which can you could try deleting the book and re-downloading it - if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' from your purchase history :http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1933

I followed your instructions and installed Developer Suite 10G on Windows Vista Home Premium edition. I have Oracle 11G DB running on the same machine.
Two points, Steve:
1. When I tried to set the maximum virtual memory to 6110 an error message displayed from Windows and told me that I can't set the maximum virtual memory to more than 4096. I set it to 4090 and it worked and I got nothing wrong during the installation process.
2. After installing JInitiator and disabling Java on Firefox I called the http://127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet page and everything seemed to be OK because the Oracle Forms Services logo appeared and then a successful installation message appeared , but as I clicked (ok) to continue a gray screen appeared inside the browser (like the one displayed when you try to run a Java applet inside a browser) and then I wait to death till something appears but sadly nothing. I just get a blank gray screen inside my Firefox browser.
Do you have any idea what to do to solve the problem?

You don't have to be "in" Safari for it to cancel logout.
You have several different Applications open, and any one of them may cancel logout if conditions are just right.
Quit the Applications you are no longer using and your Mac will run better and faster. And it will logout instead of cancelling.

I don't know how I could have made my question any more clear -- so let me try approaching it the other way around, and refer back to your answer(s).
You've been responding by saying that it's okay for me to remove the Creative Cloud versions of my software, but I don't have any Creative Cloud versions installed! I'm not talking about that at all, I'm talking about the software for Creative Cloud itself -- I don't use it, I don't need it, I don't want it, and all it does is nag me, telling me that there's updates for it (Creative Cloud). I have the full Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard bought and paid for, I have no reason nor need to "rent" any later versions, I'm just talking about the Creative Cloud software itself that got installed on my system when I installed that suite of programs.
Like I said, I don't use Creative Cloud at all -- all it does is "nag" me, and eat up space on my hard drive. When I go in my Windows Control Panel and look at my list of installed programs, there it is -- "Adobe Creative Suite" -- and it's listed separately from "Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard" (of which I've only installed Photoshop, Acrobat and InDesign, basically, as those are the only programs I use at all at the moment). Can I just uninstall "Adobe Creative Suite" without it affecting "Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard", i.e. my Photoshop, etc. will still work just fine, and I can still get updates and stuff? And by "updates" I don't mean get later versions of Photoshop, etc., I just mean any possible updates to the software that I do already have (that comes with Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard).
I hope that makes my question a little more clear?

Backup and restore your software via iTunes. If the problem continues, restore as a NEW device. If this solves it, that means there is some corruption in your backup file. If the problem is still there, you should take it to the Genius Bar at an Apple Store for evaluation.
