Is it a problem if there's a tiny vertical line on too of the screen?

I've recently seen that there's a tiny red line, maybe about 1/4 of a inch, on top of my macbook home screen. It doesn't seem to go away. Is there something weong with it? What is it?

Try Reset PRAM.
Some of the display settings are stored in PRAM.

My ipad doesn't seem to make a sound when it is closed or in sleep mode to let me know there is an imessage until you see it on the screen that someone has imessaged. When you're taking it makes the swoosh sound, just not when it's in sleep mode. Help

Am having some problems with the sounds on my ipad, specifically my imessage notification sound when your ipad is in sleep mode and someone is messaging you. It seems to work with the swoosh sounds when you are actively messaging back and forth, but as soon as I close my ipad up and is locked or in sleep mode, I don't know anyone is messaging me until I look at my ipad. Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. Problems after upgrading to 4.2. Not able to lock the screen.

I updated the software of my IPad to 4.2 yesterday and I can now not lock the screen, so it does not turn when moving the ipad. The button that I used to lock the screen now turns the audio off/on.
Has anyone experience this problem and does anyone know how to solve it?

4.2.1 is designed to operate that way.
The hardware switch does not turn the audio off/on. Rather, it turns the alerts (from email, etc.) on/off so that you can listen to music or movie sound without the annoying alerts.
If you need to lock the orientation, tap the Home button twice. When the "Recent" tray appears slide it to the right. A software switch is at the extreme left.

See my reply to "Transferring Tunes" . Suggestion: From what you said, it sounds like you could easily connect this iPod to a Windows computer. Go back to the computer where you have the 3600 songs. Get the files out of the folder where they reside and put them on the iPod as data (your iPod has to be set up for disc use. So you will then have your music on there as the iTunes music AND the data files. Take that iPod to your Mac. Drag those files from the Finder, where you will see them on your iPod, which will mount like an external disc. (It was set up for disc use). Drag those files to your iTunes Library in the Source List (on the left) in iTunes. You might have to drag them into some interim folder on your harddrive first, like the Music folder within your User.

Here we go. I have all Ke$ha's albums but there's a problem. There's ONE song includes in TWO albums at the same time. I want to have a full albums but I don't want to have a several identical songs.

One of them is studio album "Warrior" with song "Die Young" BUT there's a EP "Deconstructed" with the same song. What can I do to make one song be included in two albums?

Are you trying to save money or space?
You can make a copy of a song and give it different properties.
You cannot make iTunes use the same audio data for two different tracks in two different albums.

MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010): Intermittent black screen or loss of video

I suffer same. AppleCare can't seem to solve the problem. I did a restore from backup. Then I did a restore as new phone (virgin). Then I did a restore as a new device and then backed up from a stored backup (which does not replace media). To no avail. Some days it works fine, and on others it's extremely bothersome. The major symptoms:
1. It can take 5+ seconds to delete a photo.
2. It can take 10+ seconds for the camera app to activate. In many instances, the moment is long gone.
3. Switching from camera to video can take 5+ seconds.
4. Saving a photo that's been optimized in iOS 5 can take 30 seconds. Absurd.
Note that Photos and Camera aren't the only affected applications. What'sApp can have the same issues on occasion. Voice Memos don't respond like they should, either. I suspect that there's some behind-the-scenes operations with network feed to which iOS gives its full attention (contrary to the UX getting full attention is is historically the case). This makes the user interface painfully slow at times — and, as most of us here would agree — painfully annoying. This might have to do with changes designed around iCloud, but I'm not even (yet) using it.
The bottom line is that what used to be a quick, pretty good phone camera is now totally lackluster and unreliable for fast shots. Sometimes I think Apple spends too much time worrying about form and not enough about function.

There is a white straight line which comes under the Most Visited, Getting Started and latest headlines and continues to be on the entire firefox. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but does not work.

You may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

Are there tricks to get text to scale properly when the screen resolution is changed?

Developing on hi-res system, target is a 800x600 LCD. Graphocs seems to scale ok, but text (arial) grows in size. What do I need to do?

NB: set up as a NEW device because a software issue will be in the backup. If the issue persists after restoring as new, you should offer the device for service.
