Is it Adobe or Mac

I own a Macbook Pro I purchased in March 2008 and recently when I work in Adobe CS3 products (Photoshop,InDesign and Illustrator) it has been running slowly, also when I save things in photoshop with a high resolution it will not let me save saying not enough memory. But I have a capacity of 185.99 GB and have only used 63.33 GB. Also when I try to open up jpegs in photoshop(which was originally altered in photoshop) it will not let me open saying there was an error( but I can preview it and in full resolution in preview). Is this my laptop or is this adobe programs. And either one what do I do!!!!!
thanks!

The problem is likely due to insufficient buffer sizes in your Adobe applications. Use their preferences to configure larger buffers. This is not an error related to insufficient disk space. Memory refers to RAM, not storage space. You may not have enough RAM to edit very large images because you cannot allocate larger buffers in Photoshop. Consult Photoshop Help or visit the Adobe forums for more assistance with Photoshop.

i need help installing adobe on mac book pro

Adobe is a company. They make lots of software products. Which one(s) did you want to install? Adobe Reader? Adobe Acrobat? Adobe Flash Player? Adobe Creative Suite?
The general outline is to go to the Adob website, pay for the software if it is pay software, download the software, and run the installer.

It would also help to know what version of the Mac OS you are running on your MacBook. You can find this information by going to the Apple menu and selecting About this Mac. Under the big OS X it will say version 10.x.x.

  • Adobe Reader Mac 9 can't save filled-in forms?

It appears that Adobe Reader Mac version 9.0.0 can no longer save filled-in forms. Using Reader Mac 8, I could save my last year's IRS Form 1040 PDF with all the fields filled in. Now, when I open the 2007 IRS 1040 PDF downloaded from their website today, I get a message:
"This document enables Reader capabilities that are no longer enabled in this Reader version."
I get the same message when I open my 1040 PDF that I saved with fields filled in earlier this year with Reader Mac 8. That PDF still contains my filled-in values, but I can't save any changes.
Has Adobe disabled saving filled-in forms in Reader Mac 9? If so, was it by accident or on purpose? If on purpose, why?

  • Adobe Muse, mac

  • When I edited a PDF in Adobe Pro (MAC) all of my text changes got jumbled up and un-readable.

When I edited a PDF in Adobe Pro (MAC) all of my text changes got jumbled up and unreadable.  I lost hours of work.
The first strange thing that I noticed was that some of the letters were showing up twice so I deleted extra letters and re-saved my work as I went along.
When I closed the document and opened it up again, ALL of the text was either missing, jumbled, or turned to symbols.
My software is updated.  My version is 11.0.10.  I work on a MAC computer.
Can anyone help me please?  I'm on a deadline and this has caused some real stress.
    Thank you.

As PDF is not a word processing file format any word processing like "editing" is not support by PDF (the file format - technology - See ISO 32000-1:2008).
Fortunately Acrobat provides robust touchup capability but "touchup" is far from word processor "editing".

  • Need Adobe Premiere Mac post from summer 2000

    Hi,
I know this must sound crazy, but I need to find a needle in a haystack -- in the summer of 2000 I posted on the Adobe Premiere Mac forums - it was a method of remapping the keyboard in Premiere 5.1c.  I'm pretty sure my screen name was "Graham Jones" -- I had over 600 posts.  It's possible it was "GrahamAJones" but I don't think so.
Does anyone know how I can retrieve a copy of that post and/or thread?  I'm hoping someone saved the archive.
If it helps in searching, it talked about modifying the "keyboard.txt" file.
It's a long story, but I need evidence of that post for my green card application, and I am stumped without it.
    Thanks,
    Graham Jones.

slight chance, I suppose, I don't know how far back their archives go:

  • Adobe for Mac

    Does Adobe support Mac OS?

Yes, but of course different versions of products support different versions of OSX. You need to be a lot more specific. What product do you plan on using? What version of OSX?

  • Fill in form created in Adobe 8 (Mac) and then trying to send out from PC with adobe 9 pro

I created a form using adobe acrobrat 8 pro on a mac (everything works and we have used in the past).  I need to send it out from a PC which has adobe acrobat pro 9.  I can open the form, view it and use the distribute feature (via email option).  Then I send it out and when we test the completed form coming back to the email on the PC (using a submit button option), it opens the PDF file, you can view the filled in data on the PDF however the dialog box that normally opens asking if you want to download or import the data does not appear, not even the form tracker dialog box appears - nothing happens.  You can't seem to do anything with the data from the form.  You can only view it. We need to be able to collect it in one file, and then export to a CSV.
Is there some compability issue between forms created between two platforms, and two different versions?
Am I missing a step on a PC.  I am not very familiar with a PC's and it doesn't seem to be as drag and drop oriented as a mac.
Do  I need to rebuild the form on the PC using adobe acrobat pro 9?

Please post this in the Acrobat support area, you'll get a better answer!

  • Adobe abandons Mac users with PS Elements 4?

Adobe announced a new version of Photoshop Elements (4.0), but it won't be available for Mac users.
What other programs do people here use with iPhoto to edit their photos?

    Barbara,
Yes, it's me. I posted this before that information came out.
It still seems very odd, though. Why the Big Secret? Will it work with some unannounced product? That's my best guess at the moment.
Well I probably won't upgrade in any case--just not enough difference from PSE 3.0.
Now this product sounds interesting (you'll need to install Macromedia's Flash player 8.0 to view the video demo), depending on price of course:

  • Search not working for Acrobat Macintosh forum  Adobe hates Mac?

I have tried searching this forum, only to get 0 results every time. Even such basic keywords as "pdf" results in 0 results. I've have tried seaching without singing in, with signing in, in Firefox, in Safari... nothing.
I want to make some forms in Acrobat 9, and have some questions about fine-tuning them. With the lack of a Mac-version of LiveCycle Forms I can only conclude that Adobe really really dislikes the Mac and wants to force people to move to Windows.
Why are some features left out of the Mac version? Is this Microsoft Office? Well, is it?

LiveCycle Designer was purchased from another company and it was a Windows program. Adobe doesn't see the need to port the program to the Mac. It doesn't think number of extra purchases will provide a high enough return on the investment capital to develop a Mac version, versus the number of people that will not purchase Acrobat Pro on the Mac because it doesn't have Designer. It is not a love vs hate Mac decision. It is a pure business decision. Applescript is supported on the Mac, there is no Windows or Unix equivalent. Does Adobe hate Microsoft? Does Adobe hate Unix?

  • Adobe Air Mac Change File Permissions

    Hi there
I have a Adobe Air app for MAC that downloads a zip file then decompresses it uzing the fzip library... After decompression i try executing a .app file with NativeProcess API... But after the decompression the file loses permission to execute enven if i try to manually execute the .app it doesn't open... But if I change the .app permissions with command line the .app opens even with the NativeProcess API.
So I would need to change the file permissions through Air API... or run a command-line to change ther permission through Air API.
I also have this application to Windows version (exe) and it works withou any problem. But in Mac when decompressing the file loses permissions.

... or launch /usr/bin/chmod to change the permissions (via NativeApp API) and then execute your .app?

  • Adobe CS2 Mac laptops.

Ok, so I noticed that I can do the two-finger scrolling on Photoshop and In Design, but never on Acrobat Reader. What's this all about?
Why does it only let you scroll vertically? I know when CS2 was released there was talk about this on mac websites. What's the reason for Adobe to not implement this, only on this application? Or is it there, but I haven't updated something, or not enabled the feature? A little background info, please.
