Is it bad to charge my iphone all night?

They have told me that is bad to leave the iphone charging all night cause it can be bad for the battery.

"They" are wrong.  The iPhone will stop charging when full and leaving it plugged in overnight won't hurt it.

i get home late from school and when i get home i use it for homework. but i dot want to charge it while i use it, i heared its bad. so i was wondering what are the pro and cons of charging it overnight! Thanks no rude comments

Nothing. It's safe because the iPhone battery stops being charged when it is full, so it won't damage the phone

  • Is it bad to charge my iphone over a 100% for an 1hour?

So I plugged my phone in to charge but totally forgot to check how much it was charged to  after a couple hours I look and it's 100%
Is it bad to charge your iPhone over a 100% this is my first time ever doing it and I have a iPhone 5s?

You can and should charge as often and as long as possible... deep discharges are hard on lithium batteries.  Normal mobile use will usually result in the one charge cycle/month that Apple recommends although it's OK to fully discharge and then recharge to 100% every once in a while to recalibrate the battery meter.
Also, you cannot overcharge the device, thus you can leave it plugged in as long as you like.

Is it bad to charge your phone over night?

No. The charging circuitry in the device turns off when the battery is fully charged.

  • Ipod video not charging- plugged in all night, screen blinks 3 symbols

    Hi,
My video iPod is plugged in to my computer (has been all night)and the screen keeps switching eratically. The symbols it switches between are a low battery charge, a small battery with an exclamation, and the apple start up screen. I can also hear it making noises somethimes during the apple screen like it is trying to turn on and dies. What is the problem?

Either your adapter, your cable, or your phone is defective. or there is dirt in the connector sufficient to prevent charging. Or it was plugged into an outlet that was not energized.

  • Is there any problem letting charge the macbook all night?

I have the new macbook pro and my question is that has any problem to charge the batteries of the macbook all the night, even if takes around 3 hours to complete.
It's gonna have some overcharge and burn something?
    thank you.

Rapha,  One thing to be aware of.  Li-Ion batteries, as all batteries do, have a finite number of charges before they die.  I suggest you keep your MacBook Pro plugged in most of the time and then once every month or two let it run down and do a full charge.    I have had my MacBook Pro for over a year and only disconnect it every two months and have had no problems with the battery.
This is from the same paragraph from the link posted. Always read the full article don't just pick one thing to hang on too.
If on the other hand, you use a desktop computer at work, and save a notebook for infrequent travel, Apple recommends charging and discharging its battery at least once per month.

  • Is charging a iPhone 5 overnight bad

I'm just wondering. I've been charging my iPhone over night for like 2 weeks and I was just wondering if that harms the battery. Also, should I use the battery fully until it drains to zero, or plug it in before it discharges? Thanks.

You cannot Overcharge the iPhone... Not necessary to fully Discharge the battery... You can charge it whenever is convenient for you.

  • Is it ok to leave my iPod touch 5 on all night not charging?

I have a iPod touch 5 16 gb and just wondering if it's bad to leave it on all night not doing anything

You can just leave it plugged in all night if you wish.  You cannot overcharge any Apple device as they simply stop all charging once the battery is fully charged.  Leaving any iPhone, iPod, or iPad plugged in overnight will not harm it in the least, and then it will be fully charged the next day when you do wish to take it somewhere with you.
There is also no reason to ever turn it off unless you know you will be leaving it long enough that the battery may fully drain (like leaving it behind for a week long trip or something like that).  Apple mobile devices are designed to be on 24/7.

  • Looking for a Solar iPod charger for iPhone . . .

I am planning to hike across the Grand Canyon next month, and would like to take my iPhone with me during the trip. I know I won't be able to pull in EDGE while there, but would like to use the iPod portion of my iPhone. Since I will not be near any electrical outlets for 2 or 3 days, I was thinking about using a Solar Charger. I know there are several on the market that include rechargeable batteries that I could theoretically attach to my backpack during the day, then use to charge my iPhone at night.
Has anyone successfully used on of these chargers with an iPhone? Any experiences (good or bad) with such devices would be greatly appreciated. As would any links to specific products if you have used one.

Can't claim to have used it, but ilounge.com recently had this in their news section, and also the mfg link... Doesn't ship 'til 25-Oct.

  • My ipod touch isn't connecting to itunes and takes all night to fully charge what should i do?

my ipod isn't connecting to itunes but still manages to charge but it turns off while charging and takes all night what should i do?

    Try:
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    or
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
    - Try another cable
    - Try another charging source and computer.
    - If iTunes sees the iPod restore the iPod.

  • Initial charging of iPhone 5

    Do you need
IPhone 5 will be charged for the first 12 hours or
    No

Charge iPhone 5 when convenient for you. Even the first charge. If you have the time, and it is convenient for you charge it up. When fully charged, usually less than 2 hours charge time, use the iPhone. If you want, and it is convenient, you can leave your iPhone on the charger longer. But this is not important. The best time for most iPhone users is to charge the iPhone at night when sleeping, so it is ready with full charge for the day.

  • Found a dead spider in my charging port (iphone 4) this morning. Now phone wont charge at all... What can I do? It's now all totally cleared of lint and legs :/

This morning my phone wouldnt charge, I tried three different charging cables. They are lighting up to show they are working, but the phone does not charge or show a symbol or connect to the computer.
So i cleaned out the lint from inside the charging port. and inside all the chargers, some of them were new off the shelf so would not be the problem.
I found a dead spider inside the port. Have blown into it, thoroughly cleaned with a needle any debris and fluff and spider legs etc...
It still wont charge. I have ten percent battery... it's off for now. It is not covered for a chat with apple at all, unless i pay $40 which is crazy expensive.
Any ideas of what to do to save this phone? Obviously i cant back it up because it wont plug in to anything.
For now it is not on charge, just trying to let it dry out.
Probably i squashed this spider when plugging it in. therefore there could be spider guts all ruining the inside? I don't know how the ports are made. Up until not charging
there were no issues at all.

    Hi lisellemono1,
I'm sorry to hear you are having charging issues with your iPhone; I know how frustrating that can be. Based on your description and the possibility that there may be other debris or residue still in the charging port, you may need to have your iPhone evaluated or serviced. Hi sofia124,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like you may have either set the iPhone up as a new iPhone or restored from a backup that didn’t have your messages on it. If you do have either an iCloud or iTunes backup that you believe has your messages saved, you can restore from that backup to recover your information. Please use the attached article as a reference for restoring from a backup.
Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    Have a great day,
    Joe
