Is it bad to charge your phone over night?

No. The charging circuitry in the device turns off when the battery is fully charged.

Is it bad to charge your iPhone over a 100% this is my first time ever doing it and I have a iPhone 5s?

You can and should charge as often and as long as possible... deep discharges are hard on lithium batteries.  Normal mobile use will usually result in the one charge cycle/month that Apple recommends although it's OK to fully discharge and then recharge to 100% every once in a while to recalibrate the battery meter.
Also, you cannot overcharge the device, thus you can leave it plugged in as long as you like.

  • Is it bad to charge your iPad when there is like 30% left ?

Is it bad to charge your iPad when there is like 30% left ?

Question: What is a "charge cycle"?
Answer: Lithium-ion batteries can be charged a finite number of times, as defined by charge cycle. A charge cycle means using all of the battery's power, but that doesn't necessarily mean a single charge. For instance, you could use to your iPad for a few hours one day, using half its power, and then recharge it fully. If you did the same thing the next day, it would count as one charge cycle, not two, so you may take several days to complete a cycle. Each time you complete a charge cycle, it diminishes battery capacity slightly, but you can put your iPad's battery through many charge cycles before it will only hold 80 percent of its original battery capacity.
Don't worry about it, since the battery will take 1000s of charge cycles.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • How often do you charge your battery?

Do you charge your battery whenever it's at home, or only when it's running low? And does either method affect porfmorance?

1 - I turn Airplane Mode on when I'm in my office. If I don't the battery is dead before I get to use it at all. Cellphones and iPhones do a constant re-ping that drains the power.
2 - I have an A/C adapter in my backpack and I plug it in the cafeteria to recharge the battery while watching a tv show or surf the web.

  • Is it bad to charge the battery when it is full?

    ^Titlte^
Im using a 2012 13 Inch MacBook Pro. I play WoW and Diablo on it, while I do, I keep the charger in it. Is it bad for the computer if the battery is full and the charger is in?

Not at all. The battery and charger have built in circuitry that prevents damage if the battery is full when the charger is plugged in. That said, it's good to run down your battery to about 15 or 20% now and then just to keep it working properly.

  • When To Charge Your Battery

    Dear all Mac user,
I am a new Mac user. I was browsing some forums and some said that we should not drain our battery and re-charged it. So the question here, at which percentage is recommended to recharge our battery in order to maximize the battery lifespan. I Usually recharged at the very minimum percentage like 10% or less.
    Regards,

    Hello. Welcome to Apple Discussions
You really don't have to worry about rules that you had to follow with Li-ion batteries. You can now use your notebook without the worries about ruining your battery. Thats the great thing about the advanced zinc batteries in the Macbook-MacBook Pro line. You don't have to think about it.
Apple does have a website dedicated to notebook batteries. But it talks more about Li-ion batteries.

  • 2011 17'' MacBook Pro uses battery over night when shut down?

I use the MacBook Pro during the day connected to power source all day. Shut it down at the end of  the day (battery is 100% charged) and leave it in the bag over night. The next day I get to work and the battery is now 95% full and it starts charging the battery for good 1 hour before it's fully charged.
So somehow the battery lost charge over night with the computer fully shut down (it's not sleeping, it's shut down).
    This can't be normal right?

  • I recent bought a classic 5th 30gb. Trying charge its battery over 12hrs and still 'very low battery' with white screen randomly showing this webpage.

I recently bought a classic 5th 30gb with 'very low battery'. After 12hrs charging its still same and randomly shows a white screen with this website. Does the battery need replaced or something else is wrong?

What do you see on the iPod screen, when you plug in to the PC?
    My suggestions,
Charge only using High Power USB2.0 port at the back of your PC and not the low power USB 1.1 port at the front of the PC.
Change the USB cable, (maybe it is broken)
    Try a wall charger.
    Have a nice day!

  • Is it bad to charge my iphone all night?

They have told me that is bad to leave the iphone charging all night cause it can be bad for the battery.

"They" are wrong.  The iPhone will stop charging when full and leaving it plugged in overnight won't hurt it.

  • Leaving macbook pro's charger plugged in over night

I have a retina display macbook pro and I leave the charger plugged in overnight and my macbook is closed. When I wake up, I felt that my charger is a bit warm, not cool, and I felt that the back of my macbook is a tiny bit warm too. I'm assuming that this means that the battery is still running... But i've read that its safe to leave the charger plugged in as it is just using the AC power. Shouldn't my macbook not be running while its closed?

When closed the MBP should be in sleep mode, but that doesn't mean completely shutdown.  There are services that may run from sleep mode, service parts of the OS that don't need operator intervention.
When plugged in, the MBP charges to full battery capacity, and then the charging circuitry shuts down the charging until the battery charge trickles down to 93-95% charge level.  At that point the circuit starts up again and tops off the battery, and continues to cycle through that procedure.  So, epending on the battery charge level when you went to sleep mode, the charger may have started up and felt warm to the touch.
Leaving it plugged in is not harmful, but it is good to take an MBP off the charger occassionally,. monthly, and run the battery down about half way then plug in again...batteries do well with a little exercise now and then.

  • Am i supposed to charge my phone over night for on the first night i get it?

    ?

You are not "supposed" to do anything
Charge it as much or as little as you like.
Just let it go through a full cycle ( discharge and recharge full) once per month.
