Is it best to fully charge the battery when you first get your laptop

Is it best to fully charge the battery when you first get your laptop?
I remember buying a bluetooth earpiece and I had to do that in order get the most out of the battery due to the memory it has or something like that..
are macbooks the same??

I agree. I HATE having to wait for the battery to charge on my new Palms and Macs before using them - I guess GOD teaches us patience in strange ways (hee, hee).

Hi, thanks for the suggestion. I have tried as you suggested, and when opening the "purchased" apps some have the icloud logo next to them, but I only have "OPEN" against "Find My iPhone". When opening it up, it goes through the same routine; needs to be updated before proceeding, and wouldn't update because I don't have IOS8.
Anything else I could try, or am I doomed!
All of your help is much appreciated, thanks

    Error 1604
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
    When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
    Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.
    Error 1600, 1601, 1602
Follow the steps listed above for Error 1604. This error may also be resolved by disabling, deactivating, or uninstalling third-party security, antivirus, and firewall software. See steps in this article for details on troubleshooting security software.

  • After fully charged, the battery down to zero after 2 days without using it?

Is it normal?  As I have fully charged the ipad and stand it for 2 days without using it,   The battery drops to zero?

    Try a reset:
    1. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) for about 10 seconds
    2. Until you see the Apple logo (very important)

  • Does Apple sell the plastic film that comes with the iPhone when you first open it?

You know when you first buy an Apple product like the iPhone 4 or 4S it has those two pieces of protective film covering it? I want to buy those exact ones I like the way they look, I dont want any other suggestions, I want those same exact ones. Does anyone know where to get those or how I would be able to contact Apple to ask where I would be able to purchase those? Please let me know asap. Thank you very much.

Those are not screen protectors. Furthermore, they cover the speaker and camera so you wouldn't be able to take a picture very well or hear anything, as they are not designed to be used as screen protectors.

  • Best way to charge the battery ?

like right now it was at 20 percent so i just put the ipad to charge is that right ?or should i let go down all the way ?how do u guys charge it the best battery health thanks .....

should i let go down all the way
No. Don't do this more than necessary, or you'll reduce the lifespan of your battery. Charge the iPad as often as possible/convenient. See:

  • HT1476 when is it best to charge the battery, when it is completly dead, almost dead or at any time you want a full chargre?

When is it best to charge your battery for and Ipot touch 4th generation? when it is completly dead, almost dead, or any time you want full charge.

Letting the battery completly drain is not that good. Otherwise, just charge when you want.

  • Do you have to fully charge the battery before first use?

I just bought a macbook air and i'm wondering if I should wait for the battery to fully charge before I turn the computer on (like you usually do with phones, cameras etc.)
or can I just plug in the AC charger and get started right away?

    Hi Alice,
I recommend you check out this article for some advice.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1490
A good practice that I follow is to do a battery calibration right away and then plan to do one about every 4-6 weeks.

  • How smart is my mac? can use the AC adapter as a main power source and not charge the battery when its fully charged?

does my mac use the AC adapter as the power source when its plugged in and the battery is full? is it smart to enough to split?

The charging circuit charges until the battery reaches 100%, then shuts down the charging and goes to powering mode.  When the battery charge trickles down to 93-95% the charging circuit starts again and tops up the battery.  Will continue to operate like that if you leave it plugged in.  Keeping it plugged in does not harm the battery or risk overcharging.

  • Is it bad to charge the battery when it is full?

    ^Titlte^
Im using a 2012 13 Inch MacBook Pro. I play WoW and Diablo on it, while I do, I keep the charger in it. Is it bad for the computer if the battery is full and the charger is in?

Not at all. The battery and charger have built in circuitry that prevents damage if the battery is full when the charger is plugged in. That said, it's good to run down your battery to about 15 or 20% now and then just to keep it working properly.

A lot of computers (especially older ones) generally do not provide enough power to their USB ports to charge the iPad at a sufficient rate - it may still be charging slowly, and should be a bit quicker if the iPad's screen is off (if you leave it for a while and then disconnect it from your computer you may find that it's battery percentage has gone up). The wall charger is usually the most efficient way to charge the iPad.
And for info using all capitals is considered to be SHOUTING

  • HT201401 I did'nt fully charge the phone when i used it for the first time. Will cause the batteries lifetime to be shorter than usual?

I got and iphone 5 recently and when i turned it on to use it, the battery was half full so i charged it until it was about 90 percent full.  I had this question whether the  batterie's lifetime is reduced or not.
I'd be thankful to your answers.

"People" are wrong, and failing to keep up with current battery technology.  There are no rules to charging lithium batteries.

  • IPhone: how to charge the battery when in Europe.

I'm going to Germany for 6 months, and I will most certainly be taking my iPhone. The only thing I'm not sure about it is will I need a Power Converter Adaptor to plug into the wall with a Plug Adaptor? Or will I only need to use the Plug Adaptor?
Someone told me that the iPhone has the capability to automatically switch over the power conversion from US to European without the Converter Adaptor Plug, so that I only need a plug to fit the German Sockets.
Can anyone clear this up for me? I don't want to fry my iPhone!

And if you want to be really cool -- you can get the Apple international adapter kit from the apple store and just slip on the appropriate plug right onto your charger brick -- I have a set that I use constantly, and they interchangeable on the iPod/iPhone charger brick, as well as the Macbook, Macbook Pro, and other charger bricks as well. Very handy.

  • What is the difference when you enroll in your bank's on line bill payment program?

This is really more of a general question that doesn't specifically have anything to do with Verizon Wireless.  Somebody here mentioned that it's possible to have your bank involved in paying your bills on line?  What exactly does that involve?  Does that mean all of your vendors send their bills to your bank and then the bank automatically takes the money out of your checking account?
Here is what I do and I'm just trying to understand the difference:  Right now, each individual vendor that I do business with routinely notifies me via email each time my bill is ready for viewing on line.  I view the statement on line first to make sure it's correct and then I charge the payment to my checking account with my bank routing number and checking account number listed and verified.  Then about 2-3 days later, the transaction hits my checking account in the form of an "e-check", I guess.  I need to be sure that I am making the payments on my own and that I am documenting all of my transactions accurately in a paper ledger book that I still use.  It still comes in handy for me to keep a manual record and check that against my monthly bank statements so I always know what my balance is.  I still balance my checkbook.  The only difference now is that I'm no longer handwriting a paper check, using up postage, or using the mailbox every time.
The way I'm doing it now is very quick and convenient but with your bank's on line bill payment program, what exactly is the difference?

Thank you.  I think I'm going to leave my existing arrangement alone but that's good information to know.  I don't like any of my routine bills with the same amount per month getting paid automatically besides my gym membership fee.  That's just something I am anal about.  I usually get accused of being "fussy".  lol...But everyone is different and obviously it depends on your needs.
I didn't realize some banks charge a fee for their bill pay system but that's definitely something I would ask about before enrolling in something like that.  I went to my bank's website which I use anyway for viewing my statements and all it provides is an on line form for enrolling in on line billing.  It doesn't give any information.  Oh well.  I'll just call my bank's customer service line or speak to a banker at my local branch in person if I change my mind and decide to look into it later on.
So far the difference from what you described seems negligible in my case and that I really wouldn't gain much.  But then again, I just started with paying my bills on line so it's still a new routine for me.
    Thanks again.

  • What is the password when you first turn on the AP Extreme and view it in the Air Port utility?

I have just purchased an Airport Extreme. When I plug in the Extreme and go to the Airport Utility it prompts me for a password. What is this password? Is is located on the box or within the material within the box in came in?

If the AirPort Extreme is new, with factory default settings, the only thing that you will see is a globe when you open AirPort Utlity.
Click on the Other WiFi Devices button, then click on AirPort Extreme xxxxxxx to start the setup utility for the AirPort Extreme and follow the prompts.
Although you should not need it at this point, the factory default password is
    public
If you are asked for a password and this does not work, then it is very likely that the AirPort Extreme has already been set up with another password.
