Is it BT or is it me?

Question

Had to start using my old Macbook instead of Ipad but Macbook wont work on internet with BT home hub wireless but Ipad did (the Ipod still does). Safari says "URL too long" a 414 error, and I get the same message if it is on a wired connection.
Software update wont connect, gives message there is a network fault but diagnostics give all green lights, and I can ping the Macbook from a PC connected to the same Homehub. In the spirit of investigation took the Macbook to another wireless network and it connected fine so I put on Firefox. Back home Firefox will connect to Google search page but when I try to go to a page in the search results I get the "URL too long" 414 error again.
Anyone else come up against this problem?

If you were expecting all the latest and greatest shows and movies then BT vision isn't very good, for that you need a subscription to another provider.
I have found many series of shows that I have never watched before on BT vision. I am a new convert to 24 and can't wait for the next series to start on the 15th Feb, Warehouse 13 is keeping me busy in the meantime. The Shield is another series I haven't previously seen and enjoyed that very much. In fact I could write quite a long list of shows that are new to me and I enjoyed watching already.
Perhaps you need to try a few of the shows that are available, something you thought would never appeal may be right up your street. I tend to pick a show and then watch all the episodes available exclusively untill I have seen them all, I love the way you can do that.
Of course if you have seen them all you have to face the fact you bought the wrong product (if you don't need the sports). Don't forget you should be able to get a free upgrade to to BT Vision Gold now, although the sport & kids stuff is pretty lame!
