Is it common to find very small scratches on new just opened apple products

It doesn't really bother me but I just want to know if its common. It's so small, you can only really see it in daylight.

Are the scratches on the back of the iPad or on the screen?  Only ones I would be concerned about would be ones on the screen.
Oh, and be sure to get a MicroFiber cloth to use to clean the screen...the oleophobic coating is pretty sensitive and MicroFiber clothes work really well at removing smudges.  Just don't use any chemical cleaners as they damage the coating.

    D.p.middleton the Adobe Application Manager has been available for quite some time.  It not only allows Creative Cloud users to install their applications but also downloads and applies applicable updates.  In addition it is also responsible for the licensing and managing your agreement to the terms and conditions of the EULA.
    2. this could be due to you selecting a trial subscription to the Creative Cloud?  If you go to one of the Adobe Creative products and select Help>Updates it will launch the update portion of the Adobe Application Manager which I believe is the portion you are looking for?
    #3 I believe this was already mostly covered in the answer to #2.
    #4 the Adobe Application Manager also receives periodic updates which affects both perpetual and Creative Cloud subscription users.
    I hope this provides you many of the answers you are looking for?  If not please feel free to respond back with any additional inquiries which you have.  Also if you are experiencing any difficulties with the update process please post this as well.  It may not be necessary to have a full understanding of the inner workings of the Adobe Application Manager to help you resolve your difficulties.

    You mentioned some office-level multifunction copier, though, costing more: which one would that be?
    The new imageRUNNER ADVANCE C2225 with the Booklet Finisher-M1. This finisher will fold and saddle-stitch your booklet on the fly for up to 5 sheets of A4 paper - making a 20 page booklet. And the printer driver for OS X will re-order the pages in your document so you don't have to get the page order correct before you send the print job.

  • Small scratch on my Macbook Pro with Retina Display Screen

    I was cleaning the retina display screen of my MacBook Pro when I discovered that there is a very small scratch on the screen. I have had my MacBook Pro with Retina Display for about four months and honestly its my most cared for item. I look after it with every fibre of my being, I am actually a little OCD when it comes to looking after it. I don't even leave the house until I know its in a safe place and nobody else is allowed near it. I am really annoyed that it's scratched and I really have no idea how it happened. I know its only a tiny scratch but its starting to bug me and I am now aware of its presence every time I start up my Mac. Is there anything I can do about this? Is there any way to fix it? Thanks.

    For a precise quote, you will have to take the MBP to an Apple store genius bar.  If you go to the iFixit.com and Powerbookmedic.com, they will have parts prices which should give you a rough estimate of the costs.
    Ciao.

  • TS1398 I did everything you are recommend to do and still cannot connect to the network. "Unable to join network" shows up even that is a university network working for other users - students and staff. I am very unhappy with my new iphone 5 :(

    I did everything recommended on apple store support site and still cannot connect to the network with my new iphone 5 but my co-workers and students (I work for the university) can keep connectivity all the time. I am very unhappy with my new phone

    Be patient, Apple is coming out with a update soon, its been reported that they have sent the update to the carriers to test, which means it will be soon. And is suppose to address this issue.

  • How to find inflection point in graph when dx is very small

    Hello,
    I'm trying to sort through position data from a feedback pot to calculate linearity of movement as part of a testing procedure. An image of the data is attached. I want to delete all data in the 'flat' part, in order to do a linear fit and R^2 of the sloped line.
    This is made trickier by the fact that the number of samples, the start and end points, and slope of the line can all vary considerably. Therefore I need some way to find the 'knee' in the graph and remove all subsequent samples from the data.
    The most obvious method I tried was to use a derivative to find the inflection point, but since I have so many data points, the dx is very small
    (~0.05) when using the built-in labview derivatives. This means that I can't distinguish the inflection point from any other change in the values due to noise or change in velocity. I made my own derivative function, which was a newton quotient that looked at (xi+N)-(xi-N) instead of (xi+1) - (xi-1), but this still did not give good results. My next idea is to just look at the difference of every N points, and arbitrarily decide a threshold to indicate when it has levelled off. Any other ideas would be really helpful though.
    Thanks,

    Lets see if I can answer without having to write a book.
    Fisrt I'd run the data through a zero-phase shift low pass filter. Then look at the 2nd derivative to find the knee. Using a zero-pahse shift fileter I was able to detect when a value was jumping up when it started to jump rather than after. THis thread may be interesting.

  • My iPad 4 has a ton of small scratches on it!? Will this affect price?

    Alright, so I've been using a screen protector for the past month or so and I just took it off and noticed a bunch of small scratches all over the screen. I'm surprised cause from what I remember before I put the screen protector on it it had few to no scratches.
    I have a very nice case for my iPad, and while the screen protector was on it I did drop it (minor drops) a few times. But surely those few drops couldn't make all these tiny little scratches could it? Also, when I did clean the screen with the protector on it I used Lysol, could that have causes the scratches or no?
    I honestly don't know if those scratches were there, cause I just noticed them now after I took the protector off for over a month and I was under direct light in my very bright bathroom (I was right under where the light shines).
    When the new iPad 5 comes out I plan on selling this iPad 4 (32 GB) on eBay, but I'm kinda worried these scratches to the screen will drastically effect the price. Will it change the price a lot or do most used conditioned iPads contain scratches?
    When that time came I was planning on selling it for around $500 and pitch in the other $100 for the iPad 5 32 GB (it would include this leather/plastic duo case I have on it currently).
    Oh, and one last little question, I accidentally sprayed the Lysol on the speaker in the bottom right, it's been 14 days since the incident and the iPad sound still works normally. Does this mean no damage was caused? When I first used the sound it sounded all crackly, but then it immediately went back to normal. So will this accident come to bite me in the butt when I sell it or no? Oh, and another small bit of info on this, when I sprayed it inside the speaker I took about 2-3 mins to wipe it (cause I had to find a towel to wipe it with) and when I wiped it up, I put my mouth on/around the speaker and tried to suck the Lysol out of it (my logic was like when people suck venom from snake bites lol), just Incase there was still some left inside (which there seemed to be nothing left when I sucked it). I know it sounds gross, but I'd rather get a little bit of chemical taste in my mouth than have my precious iPad damaged hah :P
    So it's easy on all you readers, I will organise all these questions into numbers :)
    1. Could a few drops of my iPad (with case on it) cause multiple small scratches? How do I fix these scratches (it makes a rainbow effect in light)?
    2. Could the Lysol have caused the scratches when I sprayed a little bit on the screen protector?
    3. Will all these scratches affect the price for when I go to sell it on eBay? If so, by how much do you think?
    4. Do most used iPads have scratches in the screen?
    5. When the Lysol was accidentally sprayed up inside the speaker, did it do any damage (speaker sounds 100% fine since the incident, no difference what so ever, except, when I first used the speaker it made a crackly noise, but then stopped)? When I resell it, would this incident come to bite me in the butt or do you think I'm safe since its been 13 days  since that happened (I rounded to 14 earlier)?

    Well there you go, when you advertise it just be sure to say that you can't even see the scratches at half brightness and see how it goes.
    Of course you are saying you want $500 for one with many scratches on the screen, has been dropped, but the scratches aren't visible at half brightness, and has no warranty. Or I can buy a refurbished iPad 4 WiFi 32 GB directly from Apple with no scratches and a one year warranty for $499. http://store.apple.com/us/product/FD514LL/A/refurbished-ipad-with-retina-display -wi-fi-32gb-white-4th-generation
    Why would I buy yours?
    I wouldn't pay more than $300 for a used model with your specs in perfect condition. But yours is far from perfect. I think your high point is $250 which is why I said 50%.

  • In the navigation Toolbar following the yellow bookmark star you find a small blue triangle. When you click it a number of bookmarks show up. How can I add new booksmark to be displayed out of my unsorted bookmarks? Thanks.

    Dear Sir, Mam,
    In the navigation toolbar on the right side of the bookmark yellow star you find a small blue triangle. When you click it, some of the selected bookmarks show up and can be called up immediately.
    I have deleted some without problem, but I could not add new ones. I would like to have there at least 10 items.
    Please explain how to add new bookmarked items to this shortcut list. Thank you, sincerely Th. Brandt. [email protected]

  • HT3226 My iphone 4s fell down on the floor and a very very small bit on the edge of my iphone were broken. Can I insert a new iphone body panel with replace the old one

    My iphone 4s fell down on the floor and a very very small bit on the edge of my iphone were broken. Can I insert a new iphone body panel with replace the old one.. ???

    I think I had it on the iCloud, I just changed computers and had part of my old computer backed up, where are the default iTunes info saved like the pictures and I know my contacts were backed up cuz I kept getting updated stuff that I wasn't sure about, but it was contacts where some belonged to my wife's contacts....but anyway, if the cloud backed up contacts, it should have grabbed pictures too? Like I asked before, if they were backed up to the computer, is there a default iTunes folder they are saved to? I had a crap load of pictures on there that I usually could really access if I was connected to wi-fi. I turned off my data stuff as I only have 4GB and between me and my 2 kids, we seemed to use up a lot of it. My son would play music from Pandora during work, and use up all our data til I limited him to only 3GB, my daughter and I barely used 1GB. Anyway, thanks to everybody that is answering. I thought I might have done good finding the dang sim card, but pointless I guess.
    Ralph - F.Y.I. I would be happy to back up the iPhone if I could turn it on LOL......I am pretty positive I did, but what about Text messages? ANY of those saved too or not? Sorry guys, I don't know a **** of a lot about cell phones, but I do know about memory cards, but not sim cards that act like memory cards or look like them anyway. What is the purpose of a sim card if I may ask a stupid question since they don't hold any data from my phone stuff. I just hope my stuff comes back on the new replacement phone once I get it up and running. Again, thanks to everybody for the edumucation.

  • Actual layout of PDF output from printer is very small

    Hi there,
    I am currently sucessfully migrate Oracle reports from 6i to 10g (10,1,2) and the result looks fine from IE browser. When I try to print the report from printer, the image is occupied upper part of Letter size pager and it is very small which I even cannot read it. The following is my code snap:
    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(p_repid,REPORT_EXECUTION_MODE,BATCH);
         SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(p_repid,REPORT_COMM_MODE,SYNCHRONOUS);
         SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(p_repid,REPORT_DESTYPE,CACHE);
         SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(p_repid,REPORT_DESFORMAT,'PDF');
         SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(p_repid,REPORT_SERVER,g_server);
         v_rep := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT(p_repid);
    I didn't change any in my report rdf from 6i but only open and save it using 10g report builder. I also read threads posted but couldn't find the answer. Can anyone help me to resolve my issue.
    Thanks
    Jeffrey

    It happens on all machine. We use browser to launch the application and the report is called from forms (10.1.2). We didn't change any code in report and neither the fonts (Tahoma). In 6i, client server environment, windows can find the font. I guess in 10g web environment, the font is not as default. HP Laserjet 8000N is a network printer which I use to testing my report. everything is fine in 6i but not 10g. Here is my question.
    1. How to check printer setup? Should I use the default font from Linux instead of Tahoma?
    2. I found a note in metalink, Note:356221.1 which explains the procedures to deploy reports from windows to Linux. I am not sure my problem is related to the font or something else...
    Thanks for you reponse.

    I am new to apple software having worked with microsoft all these years. The switch was mainly for my photographs. Iphotos seemed to have changed all digital albums from jpeg to tiff format hence the very small resolution. Can anyone out there please help me recover these photos to origianal format???
    Thanks
    suvieve63

    Gosh I am already tired of trying to retrieve this photo album and it seems like a waste of time and money spent on an apple IMac.
    No disrespect intended but until you learn how iPhoto and Macs work you will continue to be confused and frustrated.
    You say you want to create a book in iPhoto and have it printed by Apple, right.  Have you finished creating  the book in iPhoto? If so the Control (right) - click in the View all pages window background and select Save Book as  PDF in the contextual menu?
    Open the the PDF file with Preview and check for any errors or problems.  If there are none you can order the book by clicking oin the Buy Book button at the bottom. Save the pdf file to compare with the printed book when it arrives in you feel there's a problem with it.  That's all you need to do.  There's no use of the Finder required.

    my 6500a prints very small, there are no settings in printer pref. that allow enlargement

    Hello MartyTheArtist,
    May I know  you installed Basic Print Driver or Full Feature Software?
    I am not holding 7110 printer but I have access officejet 6700 and Photosmart 7510.
    Anyway, you should able to see the similar print options if you did install full feature software.
    When you print, under the print advance options, there is an option  called. "HP Real life Technologies".  You may on this option  and it will "automatically remove redeye in photographs and to automatically adjust high-contrast photos to reveal details that are otherwise lost in shadows. I have attached the screen shot for your reference."

    I am an amteur photographer and personally, I do prefer to do post processing jobs in Photoshop first and then use the printer just to print by choosing the apporopirate photopaper and using Best Mode.
    May be you might have differnet preferences way of doing it. I am just sharing my way of printing photos
    By the way, when you install Full Feature Software, you have the option to install HP Photo Creation Software which is very simple and easy to create greeting cards, photo books and many other things. Maybe you might give it a try if you have not tried.
    Kindly let us know if you have more queries
    Cheers,
    Bryan
