Is it Iphone save from being stollen?
My Iphone 5 was stollen. I would like to know how is it possible that a so high secure smartphone can be turned off when blocked by a code?
It shouldn't be possible to do it, because that way, they are easily stollen.
This happened to me on friday, 25th October, 2013. I thought that noone could turn off the iphone because it was blocked. However, the blocking code only protects us from someone that tries to reach what we have inside iphone, but that doesn't stop someone from turning off the device. That way, using the "find iphone" app only give advantage for someone that have lost iphone.
Someone who i suspect stole my iphone and i couldn't even put my device transmitting a sound from another device to find it because it was offline. Maybe this should be checked by apple to turn Iphone more secure, because people spend lots of money buying this so fantastic smartphone (and i really mean it) but then it's not safe anyway.
Suggestions:
I suggest that the blocking code not only needs to protect our privacy but also prevent from turning off the device.
I also suggest that Apple find a way that Iphone can be easily located, even if the same is offline.
So, what would happen if a passcode was required to turn off the phone but I need to reset the phone because it was not working properly, not accepting any input on the touchscreen? Are you suggesting that a phone be rendered unusable under such a circumstance? That's ridiculous.
I'm also not sure by what magic you expect a phone to be trackable if it's not connected to a network of some kind.
Also, a stollen is a fruit cake containing dried fruit and often marzipan and covered with sugar, powdered sugar or icing sugar.

I have had my iPhone 5 hacked! How it's been done I think is by cloning or by some how signing in to my iTunes account as another device but that wouldn't explain how they are using my cell phone network. Verizon says that my phone has connected to other cell towers when I haven't even left my hometown!! So I know it's not my device!! Also my call and data and messaging details are activitys not coming from my cell phone! I notice that when I push the reset buttons in the headphone outlet my phone will run super fast for a few minutes and then go back to super slow!! Also my camera won't work and I can't connect any sound devices to it!! Help!! I pay good money for my cell service and for my new iPhone!!! This has happen to me and I can't seem to prevent it no matter what I try!! I have done factor resets but as soon as I do it it will go right back to hack mode!!
I hand a similar problem with my old Iphone 4. My camera stopped working and internet was really choppy. I took it to the genius bar. They said there was nothing they could do as it was a hardware problem. I told them it happened after a ios update but they said that was most likely not the cause. Then I asked them has my Iphone been hacked they said no like I said it is just a hardware problem and they if I wanted a replacement phone I would have to ask my carrier as I was just out of warrenty. I ended up just waited for the Iphone 5. I would take your phone to genius bar to see if they can fix it if or a replacement Iphone(assuming it is still in the warrenty period).If genius bar cannot help you could also try your carrier. If you do get a replacement Iphone you should be able to sync some data from your old Iphone to the new one. Also do you have trouble with your Iphone 5 volume adjusting by itself and static sounds from speakers when unlocking Iphone? My Iphone has been having these problems lately.

When I have turned Off the Contacts app part of my iCloud account it asks me whethr I want to keep them on my Mac (and not whether I want to delete them from all devices).
They always stay on my iPhone.

There are none. If the find feature of your iPhone's iCloud account was not enabled, it is not findable at all. And if it has run down the battery, been turned off, or otherwise has no network connection it is not findable either. If someone has it and has restored it as new, then it is also not findable remotely.
In any of those cases, you have no options but to look for it yourself, report it to the police and your carrier. If it was not secured with a passcode lock, you should change all your online passwords immediately. -

I had this same issue but then I figured out how to fix it. You can use the following steps:
Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Press your Yahoo! e-mail > Notes: Off

Everything that you have checked in your icloud settings will be shared between devices using the same Apple ID. If you don't want icloud to share that information, then simply turn off that process under settings > icloud

A better solution is if your email provider uses IMAP. IMAP sync email folders between multiple devices. Meaning any device will receive the email, all sent email can be seen on the devices. If you delete email from one device the email is deleted from all the other devices. Check with your email provider to see if they offer IMAP services.
If they do not your choices are to 1) configure email on the PC to keep Mail on the mail server or 2) change email providers to something like Gmail or Outlook.com (as examples). FWIW I use Cox IMAP email and fully sync email between a Win 8.1 Update 1 laptop, a Win 7 desktop, an iPad 4, an iPhone 4 and an iPhone 5S. -
I recently restored my iPhone 4s from back-up after being reset. An app that I had turned off in back-up did not show up in my recent resoration. I forgot to turn the app back on. Would there be any way I would be able to get the data from that app onto my phone? Is it possible to put an old back-up on my phone?

I believe you are missing the point. The OP has already restored from back up, but failed to include a specific app in the back up and is trying to recover data for it, which in this case is not possible. -
I just updated my iPhone 5 from virgin mobile to ios7, and upon the normal setup i find that i my sim card is not being read; apparently now it isn't supported. please someone help me.
my iphone is and has been locked to one carrier. all i've done is a software update to ios7, like all the other updates since i bought the phone when it was released. same carrier, same sim card. :/

And some time it's worked...OMG.....this very tiny hole located next to the headset jack........I suffered for the same issue around 20 days after purchasing my iPhone 4S. Even I visit the apple store too, they suggested to talk with apple online.....just before going to apple, i was reading "iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting" (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802) and at the very first line, i found "Make sure that nothing is blocking the top microphone (located next to the headset jack)." and this located next to the headset jack solved the problem completely for sound in vidio as well as sound with calling speaker phone.....Actually, I purchased a plastic cover (like screen protector type) that blocked this small hole (microphone hole i think) and the problem was because of this...I remember on the first day i talk with speacker phone (nothing on iPhone at that time) and it was working...
No need to restore or hard reset anything...i was fearing i'll lost everything if I hard reset my iPhone that took 5-10 to build my iPhone as I like apps, music, vidio on it.... -

if issue persists back up and restore as new via iTunes

No, the serial number and the IMEI number do not change, they are burned into the firmware and are permanent.

I'm trying to restore from backup of IPhone 4 onto New IPhone 5 in iTunes but getting message:
"ITunes could not restore the iPhone "iPhone" because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPhone that is being restored".
I've repeated the backup of my old phone but I'm still getting the same message.
Any ideas please?
GerI just spent 3 hrs with AT&T tech support. No visual voicmail! i wiped phone 3 times, reset. everything no visual voicemail.
I can access it through dialing holding down 1 then enter password, bu t Visual voicemail is DEAD. ATT says apple has major bug and fix won't be out until OCT 5th.
If you Google it it lights up like a cristmas tree! Verizon is also inodated.
1. Fake Map app usless Apple is fixing it though
2. Batt is a joke, last like 2 hrs
3. No visual voicemail
4. Face time on ATT no longer works on cellular data per apple design.
We need Steve Jobs!! he would have fired somebody for all these mistakes.
