Is it just me or does Safari 3.2 got something WRONG!!!

Hi guys,
I've been using Safari since it was available for Windows, it was working great until i updated it to 3.2!!
- when i first open it, i must wait for about 3 minutes till it "Respond" and open my homepage... the window appear but it doesn't respond for nearly 3 minutes, and in the [windows task manager] it appears as "Not Responding", after the 3 minutes it respond by itself and load my home page.
- when i go into any of my e-mail accounts (yahoo/Windows live) to create a new message or reply for one or forward one, it suddenly stop responding while i am typing and it crash down!
- sometimes while just surfing around it jam and doesn't respond and/or crash.
-its speed with loading the pages has dropped very badly with this new update and sometimes while loading a page it just stop responding so i must force a close for the application and start over, and when i start over i need those 3-4 minutes for it to respond.
anybody with anything like this??
what is going on with Safari, it used to be very good
thank you guys

I also have similar problem. Turned out tat it had some problems with the History.
I put the history to 1 week back and it started up in a snap. Try clearing the history to see if it will help...
But still, I wonder, what's so hard for Safari to chew in a bunch of history addresses on a Compaq dx2300, Dual Celeron 1.8GHz, 2GB RAM, that FF2/3, Opera and even IE8 beta 2 could bite off in a split second?!
EVER SINCE using Safari i never cleared History, and it is my MAIN internet browser, so i don't think it has anything to do with the history, i will clear it and set it to one week and see if i will have any difference
but ur computer is not bad and it should work in a snap either ways!! strange, i guess there is something wrong with this update!! hope it will be fixed soon if so
thank you for helping

  • My new macbook air 10.7.3 is running hot with the fan blowing just by using the internet. Is there something wrong with the computer?

My new macbook air is 10.7.3 s running hot, with the fan blowing after about one hour on the internet. It will also run very hot with the fan blowing when it is closed and in sleep mode, is this normal? My macbook pro did not do this.

    May 19, 2012
My Macbook Pro 15" Early 2008 model had been running hot for a long time.
    Checked Activity Monitor.  (Applications/Utilities)
AdobeResourceSynchronizer was taking 83% of CPU usage.
Did a google search and found information regarding AdobeResourceSynchronizer causing high CPU usage and heat.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/822790
Problem seems to be Adobe Resource Synchronizer.app
To disable go to: System Preferences > Accounts
Click the Padlock icon, enter password if needed, click Login Items,
    uncheck AdobeResourceSynchronizer
I don't know how this got install on this computer.
I suspect Adobe Reader. AdobeResourceSynchronizer.app is within the Adobe Reader application package.
Control Click (or right click) the Adobe Reader app, click Show Package Contents
    Location: Applications/Adobe Reader.app/Contents/Support/AdobeResourceSynchronizer.app
Some other Adobe applications may also cause this to run.
After disabling this in System Preferences > Accounts, temperature seems to be acceptable.
Also start Adobe Reader X, go to Preferences, Tracker and in the "Automatically Check for New Comments and Form Data", slide the top slider all the way to the right so is says Never.
After having done all this and restarted the computer, check Activity Monitor again and see if
AdobeResourceSynchronizer is still running. If it is you can click on it so it is highlighted and click the Quit button in the upper left.
This solved my excess heat problem.

  • Does Safari support a interactive PDF with hidden layers? I'm on version  5.0.3 and the interactive PDF displays just fine, but our web development team tells me all the layers display when they view the same PDF on Safari.

Does Safari support interactive PDFs with layers? Through the use of hidden layers and buttons we built in interactivity that allows the viewers to click on buttons to display different content. When I view the PDF in Safari 5.0.3 on my Mac OS 10.5.8 the PDF displays fine and the interactivity works. However our web design firm tell me the PDF displays all the hidden layers when they view it in Safari. Who's right?

Try updating your Safari to the latest version, 5.0.5.
Also check whether the rest of your system is up to date by going to Software Update in the Apple menu.

  • Why does safari reload page from beginning when going back in history

This behavior in safari is driving me nuts, i'm using mountain lion 10.8.1 and everytime i swipe two fingers to the left after having left a page to checksomething, safari goes back to the page and starts me in a different place (usually very beginning) than where i was when i navigated away from the page.  i mean what the ****? this gets very infuriating pretty quickly, especially on really long pages that i now have to navigate to the same section i was when i navigated away from the page.
example, i was reading about the samsung apple verdict on cnet, and i was reading i dont know, the 30th or so comment in:
    http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-57500273-37/apple-v-samsung-the-infringing-dev ice-scorecard/
I then navigated away from the page to look for a tangent the comments made me think of, and when i swiped two fingers to the left, low and behold, i am now at the top of the page and have to figure out what comment i was up to.. what.. the.. heck man?? am i doing something wrong? is there a way to 'fix' this behavior?
I remember on snow leopard i could go back and forth between pages w/o the page having to reload/leave me at the top..
another example is newegg.com, i was looking at monitors and playing with the differnet choices when clicking 'more choices':
    http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory.aspx?SubCategory=20&name=LCD-Monitors
scroll down to where it says options on the left pane, the page displays drop downs, i select a few, click on Search, and when i two-finger swipe to the left to get back, the drop downs are now gone!! that was the "last state" of the page, so why does the page have to get entirely reloaded?? It SHOULD still be in my cache and viewable in the exact same way as when i left the page..
    someone please help!

Jesus H Christ this is still driving me up the wall, i can't believe everyone is just accepting this.  Isn't there a way to fix this?  Can we at least have an option to turn this OFF?? Reloading a page everytime i go back is such a waste of time/bandwidth/my nerves when i am in the middle of a page

  • Does Safari not support scrolling in frames within a webpage?

I haven't been able to scroll frames in webpages on my iphone. Am I doing something wrong is does Safari just not support that?
If they don't support that, that *****.

I just stumbled across this, but I think it works if you scroll with two fingers, just like a MacBook touchpad (assuming you've used one). just put two fingers over the frame and slide them up/down. That was able to scroll a frame for me.

  • Why does safari crash after lion upgrade

why does safari crash after lion upgrade

Right or control click the Safari app in the Applications folder then click Get Info.
In the Get Info panel, look for the Safari version number. If it's prior to Safari 6, updating to Safari 6 may help.
Click here >  Safari Quits Every Time Opened: Apple Support Communities
Then click the link posted by:  gregoryfromcork
That will automatically download this file >  Safari6Lion.pkg.download
    Now quit Safari.
Go to your Downloads folder and double click that file and follow the instructions for installing.
Then restart your Mac, try Safari.
If you already have Safari 6 installed, post a crash report.
If Safari has just crashed, press the Report button on the CrashReporter dialog box to view the crash  information.
Copy/paste the entire contents of the Crash Reporter window into your reply including the, "binary images" sesction.
f the crash report dialog does not appear or the crash is hard to reproduce, crash logs can be retrieved from the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter> folder.

  • Why does Safari go into limbo when I try to search for some things?

Why does Safari go into limbo when I try to search for some things? I start to enter something in the search window. I get a drop down with suggestion I choose one and it pops up in my search window but just turns a color and does nothing!
If I quit Safari and bring it back up, then enter the exact same line it's fine. This is just one of the many problems I've been
having with Safari since I installed Yosemite.
Has anyone got any suggestions or is anyone having the same problem. Is there a way to maybe force my MacBook pro to reinstall Safari or possibly all of Yosemite. I seem to be having a lot of problems and judging by the responses I've received (That would be None) I must be the only one having any problem at all withYosemite. Not sure what to do.
Any help or suggestions would be great
         Ron

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Is it just me, or does mountain lion have more beach balls, longer boot time, and other unexplained weirdness that clears up with a reboot?

I'm having mixed feelings about Mountain Lion.  On the one hand, I like some of the features that more closely integrate with my iWhatever.  I appreciate having the notes, reminders, imessage, etc that makes it so I can switch from a mobile device to desktop device.
But on the other hand, I see far more beach balls, such as when simply starting Safari.  Applications take a long time to initialize as they try to, I'm guessing, sync with iCloud.   I get more application hangs.  You know, the ones that leave you dead in the water until you reboot, but then mysteriously vanish for weeks.  and boot time is frustrating.  I spend far more time waiting for my desktop and applications to initialize and stabilize after a login.
Granted, much of my frustration here is not based in the technical.  It's based on "user experience" where I don't normally pay attention when it's working well. It just feels to me that the behaviour of ML is much more similar to windows of the past, where a reboot once or twice a day cured most ills.
Is it just me or does anyone else have similar feelings of disappointment.
    thanks!

Hmmmmm... OK y'all have got me thinking.
I normally run disk check and repair, this time it found a number of files and links related to printers and image devices, stuff that isn't likely part of the issue.  There were three links, however, related to core graphics.  the permissionss were  rwxr-xr-x when they should be rwxrwxrwx.  I don't think those are involved, but alas they are fixed.
It seems like much of my issues seems to revolve around the mounting/access of resources outside my laptop, be it icloud, nfs server, samba server, etc. RIght at this moment, Finder is hung hard.  I tried to force restart it, and in the Force quit menu I now see two Finders.  One will kill and restart immediately, one does nothing.   And I can't open a finder window period.
In fact, just before writing this, I was attempting to edit a text document in StarOffice, and StarOffice went to lunch trying to access my samba share.  Now before y'all go nuts about any samba server side issues, let me say that while my MBP is having issues accessing my samba shares, none of my other computing devices are.  W7 laptop pulls up samba file system as fast as if not faster than it's own local file systems.  My other MBP (older core2 duo, but still on mountain lion) does not seem to have any issues.  I don't believe it a server side issue.
So I asked myself, what's different on my 2.66 gb i7 MBP??  It just occurred to me that I have one piece of software that's pretty deeply rooted in file system management....   Tuxera NFS.   I see that it has not been updated since updating to Mountain Lion, so I am going to check that out, and will post results.

  • Why does Safari still accept cookies, even when I put Block Cookies "Always"

Why does Safari still accept cookies, even when I put Block Cookies "Always",? There are always a list of every website with cookies. Is that just a record of what could've been accepted or its a bogus feature that still accepts regardless of what feature is on?

Apple has rolled over users since OS X 10.6.8 when this issue first appeared.
If you want a browser that actually CARES about it's users, then install Firefox, it's the only one that does.

  • Why does Safari automatically download files?  I want option to download.

Why does Safari automatically download files? I want option to download or not. I didn't think it used to automatically download. But now every time I click on a file that has been sent to me it does give me an option to view or not..it just automatically downloads it. Any suggestions?

    Hi,
Why does Safari automatically download files?
That's what Apple decided it should do. It's not my preferred option either to be honest.
I didn't think it used to automatically download.
Safari has always done this. Maybe in the past you had a third-party application installed that did this for Safari.
    Any suggestions?
Safari menu > Report Bugs to Apple... or http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html
For more immediate action, have a search around www.macupdate.com or www.versiontracker.com to see if such an 'extension' exists to force Safari to prompt on download. (Bear in mind these kind of things can be sensitive to the version of Safari they're used with, so if Safari starts crashing down the line they would be the primary suspects to remove)

  • Does Safari plan on supporting Yahoo email?

Everytime I try and load Yahoo email it fails. I have to refresh the page generally 5-10 times before I can even click the inbox button. Does Safari/Apple plan on fixing this issue or should I just switch to Firefox? I have the most recent Safari and am running OSX lion the most recent version. Basically everything is completely up to date as I bought this computer a mere 2 weeks ago.

Instead of accessing Yahoo via Safari, setup your account using the Mac Mail app that is preinstalled on your Mac.
Launch Mail. From the menu click Mail / Preferences then select the Accounts tab then select the Account Information tab.
Click + under the Account panel on the left.
Follow the instructions to add your Yahoo email account.
Now, instead of using Safari, just click the Mail icon in your Dock.
Just so you are aware. Apple is not responsible for third party web based email clients software compatibility.
If you don't want to setup your email using the Mac Mail app, definitely try Firefox.
Always good to have a backup browser installed in case one isn't working regardless.

  • Does Safari use (OGRE Object-Oriented Graphics Rendering Engine)?

I went Googling in search of this message and came across this website announcing the fixes...
particularly the part relating to removal of invalid drawable...
    http://www.ogre3d.org/2012/09/02/ogre-1-8-1-byatis-released
    So my question is
    1) Does Safari use this?
    2) If so - are there any plans on Apples behalf to release an update with this 'fixed' version of OGRE?
    Currently using:
Safari 5.1.9 (6534.59.8) as part of Snow Leapard OS X Version 10.6.8.
on Macbook Pro with Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8 Ghz and dual graphic card combo :NVIDIA GeForce 9400M/9600m GT

[edit] moved into its own thread so the topic is easier to spot for people searching for ogre 1.0, http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?p=72624#72624 [/edit]
heres an updated nvidia toolkit package
do a search for ogre in the new package forum
    i packaged 0.15 previously
just change the version number and it should work, with a little tweaking
im not sure of the license on the nvidia-cg-toolkit, but ill leave it as GPL for the time being
this DevIL package has less dependencies, the previous one posted in the other ogre thread had far too many.
it seems ogre now needs zziplib! joy.. more dependencies for an already annoying to compile engine.. grrr
[update] the compilation worked with a few tweaks, get the package builds from now on and they will work [/update]
thanks go to shastry for the original ogre PKGBUILD, i worked from his original..

  • Is it just me or is Safari, Mail, iOS6 and Mountain Lion just rubbish??

ever since I have installed Mountain Lion on my iMac and iOS6 on my iPad and iPhone everythig has just gone to ****. Safari is just about useless wont load pages crashes constantly,on All devices!! Mail Crashes constantly.
My iPhone ( admitttly only and iPhone 4) cant make or recieve calls , loses bluetooth connectivity usually in the middle of a call. Wont run most of my updated apps.
I have not experianced so many problems since I owned a PC!!!
The only thing that works properly is my 2008 Mac book with Lion installed!!!
Are the golden days behind Apple ?

Not just you. I hate this new OS! Mail is the worst; how does merging mails from different people make sense, only because they answer to the same project? This is so cluttered that on a busy day keeping track of incoming e-mails is practically impossible - and it's also too **** easy replying to the wrong person.
One example: It looks like Lisa sent me a couple of e-mails yesterday. But no; opening up that one reveals another one - inside, or beside, whichever you prefer - from Kai! Who in their right mind would find that practical? Granted, they both replied to an e-mail regarding the same project, but it's not the same message, Apple!
The Babushka Doll concept only works with Babushka Dolls.
In other words this means I won't know Kai answered my e-mail unless I open up the folder from Lisa...
Please tell me this can be turned off somewhere, or else this crap goes out the window! (Not my MB Pro, I still love my MB Pro, but I fear that Steve was the one holding everything together, and now everything is slowly falling apart...).
Could Terminal be a solution to this? (I already turned "hit backspace for previous page" in Safari back on using Terminal, thanks to one Apple-Wiz out there)...
