See i had the first iphone and i notice a couple of things that were bothering me- such as - iphone will always go back to home screen when using the main applications(safari,Weather,Maps etc) for no reason, later i realize the bug was fixed
Now i purchased the 16G iphone3G
and now is back-- Dont understand why while using safari and browsing it takes me back to the home screen (Didnt steve jobs said it him self that, any application that we will use on the phone whenever we go back to home screen it automatically turns off- for better performance- better battery life??
I dont think so i think my applications are still somewhat running or not completely turned off when we click the home screen button
And battery life is just draining down worse than before...
SMS is also suffering a bug - While am going through my text and i randomly click on any name to write back sometimes the bar u click to type something suddenly disappears?? I have to get out and come back to SMS for it to re-appear again..
Camera is very slow too sometimes..
If u guys are wondering if i have my iphone full - nope - i got the 16G and it shows that i have 14G still left which means i barely put on anything..
I love this new phone and hope all new bugs can be fixed -- if u guys have anything else going on ur iphone let me know so i can check with mine..

I am having similar problems but the main one I noticed is maps isn't working at all. It will open up and show no maps just all the icons. As soon as I hit a icon it goes to home screen and if I don't hit anything it will go to home screen. It didn't do this when I first got it so I put it back default on itunes that fixed the problem but erased everything.

Did you check your security software (firewall)?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

I had the same problem and also had PDF Download 3.0.02 installed. By removing this addon I can now select a PDF document which then opens up a normal Open With/Save dialogue allowing me to open the file or save it. Hope this helps.

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "syntax error," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know your password, or if you prefer not to enter it, just press return three times at the password prompt.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
10. The test will take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line "[Process completed]" to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report your results. No harm will be done.
11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

Another possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

When i'm watching a show or movie on iTunes, the video will randomly freeze and the audio will continue, the video catches up after awhile, but it does it again. This happens to all my shows, and I downloaded them from iTunes. Why is this happening?

Whenever I try to watch movies on iTunes on my computer, the video will randomly freeze, but the audio will continue. This happens will all of my shows, however this never happens on my iPod or iPad. Whenever I want to watch a new movie I buy or any of my shows this problem keeps happening. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it did not work. You might try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for a 30 seconds. If that doesn't help try using another HDMI cable.

Does this happen to all cell ohones?

I started on the East coast, flew to Dallas - my iphone reset its time to the Dallas time zone, then took another flight to Tucson, it reset automatically to that time zone. Does this happen to all cell phones? I thought I had to reset the time every trip.

I believe if you set your phone to get the time automatically from the network, then when you change time zones the phone should change automatically. It does this based on the antenna it connects to when you use your phone in a new city (time zone).

When exporting images from iPhoto library to Aperture 3 library the highlights go red and the shadow area goes blue. This happen to all images in the Aperture 3 library, why?

For some reason all the images in Aperture 3 library have had their highlights go red and the shadow area goes blue. I can correct them one at a time with contrast control. This just happen on its on after I uploaded MOuntain Lion. Now when I go to transfer images from iPhoto this happens. The images are all right in iPhoto but this is not the case with Apeerture. I have 15,000 images in Aperture 3 and I can't afford the time to correct them one at a time. What is it that I did to cause this problem?

You have "Highlight Hot and Cold Areas" turned on.
Toggle this on/off from the View menu.
Thresholds are set at "Aperture➞Preferences➞Advanced". (I have mine set to 100% ~ it's not clear what the scale is.)

TS2755 I can't receive messages on my iPhone 4?? It will let me send them just not receive, and this happens on text and iMessage. Help anyone?!

I have a iPhone 4 on contract and every now and then it will stop receiving messages when I am in the middle of a conversation. I don't use iMessage as I sometimes go over the limit of my Internet data. So I stick with SMS. And even when I do try with iMessage I still can't receive messages. I don't know if this is a on fault on the phone but it's a really bad downfall if its common on most iPhones. Don't get me wrong but I love this phone I think it's great but it's annoying when I can't receive messages. And at this moment
In time I still can't receive them. Been happening for 12 hours now and it's never been this long usually, advice anyone?

If you are having issues sending or receiving messages from a specific contact (in this case, your wife), you may find this portion of the following article helpful (ignore the numbering):
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and recreate the contact in the Contacts app. Create a new message to the newly created contact and try again.

The default of the pref network.http.max-connections has been increased from 30 to 256 in Firefox 6+ versions.
Try to decrease the value of the pref <b>network.http.max-connections</b> from 256 to 30 as used in Firefox 3 versions.

When that message came up, you had less than half a gig of disk space left (because that is what can trigger the message). After closing the filter, the space in use was freed - but while running the filter, you did not have enough disk space + RAM to complete the operation, hence the message.

I would be playing a game then the audio would go out.......this happens on all the aps that i have iPhone 4

I'm sorry your having issues with your phone. Let's get to the bottom of this quickly. Let's try turning the Wifi off on the device. Then power down and remove and reinsert the Sim Card and retest.
