Is it just me or Safari's new upgrade has trouble rendering some pages?

Some pages I've loaded seem to keep blinking white, and then they don't reappear until I scroll my mouse over them, and most times they don't come back again. I end up having to refresh the entire page for it to render properly. Could this be an upgrade problem or the pages I'm visiting.

YES! YES! YES! It totally hosed mine. Of ocurse, let me preface this by saying that my iPhone has been a piece of crap since day one. I have a 3G. When I first got it I could barely hear anyone on my phone even turned all the way up. After the frist update I did it was somewhat better but not great. After last one I did, it would shut itself off when I was texting or using the internet. A LOT! I could be sitting right beside my husband and have no bars. And he'd have wifi and I couldn't get it. Not a foot apart! Wrote Apple. They sent me a phone to use while they were fixing mine. This one does the same exact thing. I will NEVER have another iphone!

Safari 5.1.1 has trouble with Youtube, Grooveshark

Does anyone else running Safari 5.1.1 have problems playing any Youtube video or Grooveshark tunes? Mine stays black or says there was a problem loading Flash. According to Grooveshark, I might have a flash blocker installed, but I haven't intentionally installed anything of the sort. Is there something with the latest update that might have done this?
I don't think it's my computer, because I can watch Youtube videos and play Grooveshark music on Chrome. Just not on Safari.

Do you have ClickToFlash installed?
Check ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Just not on Safari.
And check Safari > Preferencees - Extensions. If you have any installed, turn that off, quit then relaunch Safari. Try a video.
Open System Preferences > Flash
Select the Storage tab.
Click Delete All
Reluanch Safari.
Empty the Safari cache then try a video.

Safari 3.1 upgrade has practically trashed my system

Ever since the Safari 3.1 upgrade, I can no longer use iTerm or Terminal, and Google Desktop (which I tried unsuccessfully to remove) constantly crashes. My system freezes constantly because ReportCrash is constantly being launched and causing CPU utilisation to spike. When I look at my logs, it looks as if libxslt and/or libxml have been overwritten. I use macports for package management, so I don't know how any system libraries would've gotten borked. Please help me, someone. I do not want to have to wipe my system and start from scratch. Anything short of this -- I'm going insane. Way to go, Apple! Another upgrade gone awry!

Safari hangs for ~7 seconds when loading some pages

I noticed when I click on certain links, Safari hangs for a moment: a blue line moves, when stops, hangs where for about 7 seconds, and eventually it loads a website. It happens on theweathernetwork.com website when I brows photos and open each in a separate tab.
Also, when I am reading a flash etexbook (Pearson eText), and when I click on audio or any other link (youtube, etc.)
I see Safari freezes, mouse cursor disappers (it IS there when I click but you can't see it), after about 7 seconds, cursor re-appears and Safari unfreezes.
Any suggestions how to fix?
Some details:
1) same problem even when I log in with new just created user
2) no such problem if I use Chrome browser.
All software is up to date.

Try a different DNS server such as OpenDNS ...
Quit Safari.
Open System Preferences / Preferences then select the Network tab. Click the Advanced tab then click the DNS tab.
Click +
Enter these addresses exactly as you see them here.

Click +
208.67.220.220
Then click OK.
Relaunch Safari.

New upgrade has created Window mis-skewing, requiring resizing to snap back into position.

Good Morning.
I have two issues currently facing me with Firefox. Using a (Ver. 10.6.8) iMac OSx, the first, and more recent (and most annoying) is that since my latest upload of Firefox upgrades (to 5.0.1), all new windows opened show a mis-skewed (out of alignment) window content… until I manually perform a window resizing. Which, almost as soon as I make any movement on the resizing element (lower-right hand portion) of the screen, everything within the window snaps back to full screen size (fully contained/presented); however, I have to do this with each new Window opened???
Secondly, is that quite some time ago as I was learning my (then) new iMac, I allowed for a Toolbar to embed within Firefox, and in attempting to remove somehow made it appear a second time; I have lived with this since. However, as long as I have your attention, I am going to try to kill two birds with one stone as it were, as I wish to remove BOTH of these annoying tool bars… and not just minimize them by way of their tools.
If necessary, I can screen capture whatever you may need to assist in this effort.
Hopefully, this is pretty clean in explanation, but if not… shout!

Safari (XP) 4.0.5 not displaying some pages, seems to be a 'style' issue.

Since I have updating my work computer (Win XP) with Safari for Windows 4.0.5, some websites (ex. www.thestar.com) don't display properly, it's like the text is all gone... when I switch off 'styles' (disable styles) in the 'develop' menu all seems to be there 'cept it's really awkward reading this way.

Okay ... working up to sterner measures relating to Safari preference files.
The following technique will clear Bookmarks, Top Sites, passwords, etc. Make a note of your passwords and other forms data, and address book details if you're using them.
We're going to try rebuilding all your Safari preference files/folders. (This is a more drastic measure than just resetting.) If it does work, we can probably get your BookMarks and Top Sites back afterwards.
(1) Quit Safari if you have it open.
(2) Go Start > My Computer.
(3) From the Tools menu, select Folder Options ...
(4) Click the View tab.
(5) Make sure Show hidden files and folders is selected.
(6) Click OK.
(7) In My Computer, open Local Disk C:
(8) Open the Documents and Settings folder.
(9) Open the folder with the name of the XP user account in which Safari isn't displaying correctly.
(10) Open the Application Data folder.
(11) Open the Apple Computer folder.
(12) Rename the Safari folder "Safari1" and drag it out onto the desktop.
(13) Open the Preferences folder.
(14) Drag the com.apple.Safari plist file out onto the desktop.
(15) Go back into the folder with the name of the XP user account in which Safari isn't displaying correctly.
(16) Open the Local Settings folder.
(17) Open the Application Data folder.
(18) Rename the Safari folder "Safari2" and drag it out onto the desktop.
Now launch Safari again. (That will rebuild all the items we dragged out onto the Desktop.) After the Welcome to Safari thing has finished, head to thestar again. Does it display properly this time?

First page of what? I assume that you are talking about Safari and not a book in iBooks, the Kindle app or the Nook app.
Clear Safari in Settings>Safari>Clear History and website data. Then reset the iPad by holing down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

Safari 3.1.2 doesn't open some pages

Since 3 days ago safari sopped opening my two favorite webpages. I reset safari, set the "accept cookies" on "always" but It didn't work. I always get the message:
Safari can’t open the page “http://radiozamaneh.org/” because it can’t find the server “radiozamaneh.org”.
Then I downloaded fire fox and the same problem with fire fox as well. these two are the only webpages that I have problem with!

Try this:
The following usually works on both Tiger and Leopard:
(First, if yours is an Intel Mac, check that Safari is not running in Rosetta, which is enough to slow it to a crawl.)
Empty Safari's cache (from the Safari menu), then close Safari.
Go to Home/Library/Safari and delete the following files:
form values
download.plist
Then go to Home/Library/Preferences and delete
com.apple.Safari.plist
Repair permissions (in Disk Utility).
Start up Safari again, and things should have improved.
Many, including me, have also followed the advice given by others here to add DNS codes to their Network Settings, with good results in terms of speed-up:
Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu. Click on TCP/IP and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' enter the following two numbers:

208.67.220.220
Click on Apply Now and close the window.
Restart Safari, and repair permissions.
Post back with results!

New desktop has wrong path for page links in nav bar

I created a new desktop and have the following problem. The image links to portal
pages in the horizontal nav bar in the top have wrong path.
Example.
In the original portal the home page link in the nav bar has a image associated
with it in workshop.
\framework\skin\classic\images\home.gif
The partial url generated for the image looks liek this:
\mywebapp\\framework\skin\classic\images\home.gif.
I created a new desktop everything works fine except for the images. The href's
are created for the links but the image path is wrong.
the url generated is : \mywebapp\appmanager\framework\skin\classic\images\home.gif
The "appmanager" in the path causes the problem.
Is this a bug?

New 7D has trouble talking to 430Ex speedlight.

Regardless if I have the flash control set to external only or both. I turn on the external flash, it show the channel etc. I pop up the on camera flash and enable both. Standing right in front of the 430 and pressing a test flash, nothing . Going around to the external and waking it up, take a picture, no external flash. Finally after two or three shots, the external starts blinking.
Can someone tell me the proper procedure so I know if there is something wrong with this new gear?

We're sorry to hear that your EOS 7D is having trouble talking to your Speedlite 430EX. I'd like to go over the steps to get this working for you.
1. Press the [FLASH] button to pop-up the built in flash. Ensure the Speedlite 430EX is set to Slave mode.
2. Select [Flash Control] under the Camera 1 Tab, then press <SET>.
3. Select [Built-in flash func. Setting], then press <SET>.
4. Select [Flash Mode], select [E-TTL II] then press <SET>.
5. Select [Wireless Func.] and choose the Speedlite fire option.
6. Set [Channel] to the same as the Slave Unit is set to.
7. Fire a Test flash. The slave should fire, if not then check the settings again. (Page 119)
8. Take the picture.

New iPhone has trouble loading Camera Roll

Got a new iphone, had icloud back everything up but camera roll isn't showing up. It's showing me that i have the correct number of pictures but it's been contstantly "Loading..." for 2.5 hours. Any idea if they will load properly? Anything I can do to expedite?

When you restore from back up, the process will restore the OS and some initial data, it will then restart and allow you to use your device while the remaining data is downloaded and restored in the background. have you allowed enough time for this to complete.
ensure that you have a decent wifi signal.

New Upgrade has Itunes running in Task Manager but not starting...

I know this is an issue that has been addressed on many other forums as I have been searching for the answer since I downloaded ITunes 8*.
The install seems to work but when I start it up it does nothing. The Task Manager shows it as running in Processes but that is it.
I have already tried the "msconfig" fix. The "corrupt library" fix and I have already confirmed that my firewall isn't stopping it.
Please help it seems that I may be stuck at Version 7.43 for awhile.

odd combination of symptoms you've got there. the "flash" of the license screen usually suggests malware ... but the persistence of itunes.exe in Task Manager suggests dodgy configuration files, or security software interferences.
will go with the latter "persistence" symptom first. if you've got Norton Internet Security 2005 on the PC, first try the Lorraine M technique:

... but if NIS 2005 isn't a factor, let's check on this possibility:

Ipad new upgrade has caused my ipad to keep upgrading. It appears iit is not fully completed.

MY iPad continually upgrades. It does this about 4 or 5 times before it will work. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

After Update, Safari only loads some pages.

On my Powerbook G4 (OS 10.4.11), I recently installed Security Update 2008-008 (PowerPC), and since I've installed it, Safari (v3.2.1) is loading only some pages. This is not just Safari, but Firefox will not load some pages either. Pages that will load include Google, Gmail, and Yahoo. Some pages that won't load include Apple, Facebook, YouTube, and most large pages. It seems that
When I ping these sites using Network Utility, the average pings for these pages are as follows:
Google: 100 ms
Gmail: 17 ms
Yahoo: 17 ms
Apple: 100% packet loss
Facebook: 90 ms
YouTube: 85 ms
I have 5 devices on the network: two Macbook Pros, one Powerbook, one Nintendo Wii, and one iPod Touch. Each device works perfectly fine except for the recently-updated Powerbook.
Failed attempts to fix the problem:
- Resetting Safari
- Restarting the computer
- Power cycling the router
- Resetting the PRAM and NVRAM
- Fixing Permissions
Are there any changed settings which could have caused this malfunction?
Any suggestions on what I can do to fix this problem?

Hmmm… then there's some larger-scale corruption with files that we can't pinpoint, so at this point you should do an Archive & Install with the option to Preserve Users and Network Settings. You will not lose any programs or data, just get a new copy of OS X installed and the old one removed. The old copy will be put in a folder named Previous Systems, which you should delete. You will also need to download the 10.5.5 or 10.5.6 Combo Update and install that, as well as Use Software Update to bring your system current.
To do this:
1. Quit all running applications and use Disk Utility to Repair Permissions.
2. Insert your Mac OS X install/restore disc and restart your Mac from it (hold down the 'C' key until you see the startup screen).
3. Proceed with an install as normal, but choose Archive & Install with Preserve Users and Network Settings; then run the installer.
4. Eject the disc after the Mac restarts.
5. Quit Software Update if it runs and tells you to update things. Instead, download and install the 10.5.6 Combo Update; then run Software Update to bring your system current.
6. Repair Permissions again.
