Is it legal to add music from your own library onto someone elses IPOD????

My friend wanted me to add some of my music onto his IPOD and the link for his IPOD will not show up in my ITunes. I do not know if it is legal to do this and perhaps this is preventing me from transferring the music. He has used the IPOD on his own computer before...

Probably has nothing to do with your technical problem, but it is illegal for you to put your music on his iPod.
Please don't steal music (or help him do so).

Possible yes. Something you would want to do? Not likely.
Music bought from the iTunes store is only licensed to the Apple ID that bought it. The other iPhone has no right to play it, and as such it would require your Apple ID and Password on said Phone to be able to play. Are you willing to do that?
It would also be illegal, and akin to piracy.
You will also overwrite any other music they may have in their iPhone and replace it with yours.

  • Got an IPOD nanno last year. Used Itunes often and got a lot of music. Bought another nano for a family member who is using their own laptop . Anyway for me to get music from my Itunes library onto family members ipod? Thanks

Can i get music from my itunes library (created with different computer) onto wife's ipod library (created using different computer)? Hope this makes sense

iTunes and Apple's devices work as an ecosystem. iTunes is designed to sync with Apple's products, not anyone else's. You'll need your songs in a format compatable with the Samsung phone and to use the software transfer program supplied/recommended. It is essentially not an Apple/iTunes problem. You may have better luck finding the information you need on Samsung's forums.

This will wipe all her current data off her phonee and will be replaced with the data on the computer she is syncing to.

  • How to manually add music from your library

I'm attempting to manually add an album in my library onto my iphone library, but it won't let me.
On the phone summary it only has "Manually manage videos" and not music, and on the Music tab it only allows me to add voice memos.
Can anyone suggest what I'm doing wrong?

Why can't I load music from itunes library to synced ipod touch

" I have no idea what you're talking about my phone being hacked."
I explained:  "Your iphone must be hacked as you cannot copy from finder on a legit iphone."
"I used to be able to drag music FROM THE ITUNES LIBRARY to THE IPHONE. Now I can no longer do that"
Again, I explained: "you would check the manually manage music box of you wanted to drag and drop."
Do you have the manually manage music box checked?

  • How do I add music from another iTunes program onto a new one?

    Hello!
I recently downloaded Windows 8.1 onto my PC. I also had to download iTunes again, then I plugged in my iPod. Since I had to re-add all my music, I went into my iPod folders to find where I put my music (from before) to move it back into iTunes. The folder wasn't there, so I'm wondering if it's possible to find my old music again..(w/ out re-downloading everything)? It's all in my iPod; just not in iTunes.
I know this may seem like a stupid question w/ an obvious answer to some, but I just recently got my iPod, and still need time adjusting to iTunes. Thanks so much for reading this!

If you purchased all of the songs through itunes store, please follow these steps:
    1. Open up Itunes and Click on Itunes Store
    2. Once you're in the Itunes Store look to right side of the screen and you should see the word "purchased". Click purchased and you'll be sent to a purchase screen.
    3. Click on "All Songs" and then it will show all the songs you've downloaded. From there you just hit the button that looks like a cloud with an arrow on it, and it will download all the songs all over again.
If you didn't purchase them through Itunes, then you'll have to download software that will strip the songs from your iPod. And here is a guide about how to transfer iPod songs back to iTunes. Hope it helps. Feel free to email me if you need further help.

  • How can I add music from a shared library to my own library ?

I'm trying to add 4 songs, that were newly purchased, from my dad's computer to mine. the only problem i have with home sharing, is that i cannot drag the music over to my library or i dont know how to add it to my library. I have searched the iTunes Help Center and iTunes Support, but neither have helped me solve this issue.
If i cannot find a solution, i will resolve to add it through a memory stick. But i hope there is another way to fix this, as i wish it could add automatically.

    Hello leendo
As long as you have Home Sharing setup with the same Apple ID, then you should see an option to import the tracks in when selecting the songs that you want. Check out the article below to get that sorted out.

  • DELETING MUSIC FROM YOUR ITUNES LIBRARY AND COMPUTER

I USED TO DELETE SONGS AND IT WOULD ASK ME IF I WANTED TO KEEP THE FILE OR MOVE TO TRASH, NOW IT DOESNT ASK ME THAT. WHEN I TRY TO DELETE IT JUST TELLS ME IF I DELETE IT WILL BE REMOVED FROM ALL IPODS, ETC. AND IF I DELETE IT IT DOESNT SHOW UP IN MY TRASHCAN. HOW CAN I MAKE THIS OPTION COME BACK OR HOW CAN I DELETE SONGS PERMANENTLY WITHOUT HAVING TO OPEN THE FILE AND DRAG IT TO TRASH

I figured it out. The music files must be in the correct iTunes Media folder (shown in Preferences/Advanced). If they aren't, you can play the tunes, but not move them to the trash.

  • How to I put the music from my itunes library onto my iphone 4s using icloud?

We just got the new iphone 4s and are having trouble put the music on. When we have homesharing on it shows up on the iphone but we can't get it to stay on the phone. As soon as we close itunes it disappears from the phone. Can I use icloud to do it or do I have to plug in my phone to the computer or is it even possible. We did it on our ipad and it seemed to work fine. Do i have to get that imatch?

You can make a playlist in iTunes to and fill it with the music you want on your phone. Then when you sync your phone you can select the playlist to sync. Creating a playlist will allow you to choose the songs you want.
    Create a playlist by selecting
    1. File
    2. New
    3. Playlist
    4. Name the Playlist
    Adding Music to the Playlist
    1. Select song
    2. Right Click
    3. Add to Playlist
    4. Select the PlayList you created

  • When I try to sync my music from my iTunes library onto my iPod, this message comes up "the iPod cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (13019)." I have already read all the troubleshooting options on the apple website. Nothing is working. What now?

I already tried to restore the iPod, and I tried unchecking and checking every option for what I want to sync to my iPod. I restated my computer as well as iTunes, and I feel like I am out of options. I tried doing everything in all of the help articles as well as the steps given in the article written by the tech specialist on the apple website. I feel like I am out of options. my iPod is not even 2 years old, I do not have coverage, and I cannot afford a new iPod of any kind. Please help!!!!

    Had this issue only yesterday...
goto itunes and hook up your ipod
click on the ipod in itunes and goto music tab in right hand screen
    untick sync music option
    apply / sync
go back and re-tick the option
    apply / sync
A boring and tedious solution I agree, but it did work for me
