Is it legal to record software?

Hi
A quick question that I asked many but no-one seems to know. Is it legal to record tutorials for how to use apple's software? I intend to sell access to those courses.
Thank you in advance!
- Elliott :)

Also to add onto this I quote below from the copyright  guidelines provided by apple. Does this mean Ivan create and sell tutorials proving I comply as outlined below?

  • Can Microsoft add a screen recording software in the next update

Apple has screen recording software on it when you get it. Can Microsoft do this to? It will promote more gamers to use it and more people who use Youtube to post videos.

Apple has a great screen capture software downloaded on the computer for you,  completely free! To by that same screen capture software for
Windows is about thirty dollars. Microsoft add a free screen recorder in the next update. This will put
Microsoft up above Apple. Think about it. More gaming is done on Microsoft computers than on
Apples. This will promote even more people to use Microsoft
and will allow more gamers and people who have Youtube channels to use Microsoft computers. I want a safe screen capture software that is easy-to-use and reliable.

  • Recording Software Simulation using Epiphan VGA2USB

    Hi,
Can someone help me with an answer for the below question:
I have one question : How can we Record Software Simulation in Assessment mode in the following scenario :
1.laptop 1 has Adobe Captivate installed and is the source recording machine
2.laptop 2 has the software for which the recording and simulation needs to be done but this does not have captivate.
    3. We use Epiphan's VGA2USB device to perform screen capture from Laptop 2 to Laptop 1 using Epiphan Capture Tool software.
My Question is : How can we get the clicks done on Laptop 2 be recorded using Captivate on Laptop 1, so I can capture the recording in Assessment Mode.
    Thanks
    Raghu

    Hi Raghu,
Firstly, we do not recommend to record a different machine using a remote client, as there could be issues with latency.
If both machines are in same domain/intranet, you can use the Remote Desktop Share and while recording choose an application to record from list as RDP Service, readjust the recording window and start capturing.
Captivate would capture the events from Application listed which in this case would be RDP, I have not personaly used VGA2USB, if it can recreate a similar scenario you can test that as well.
    Thanks,
    Anjaneai

  • Is Logic Pro the Best Audio Recording Software for Mac?

Couple questions. I do a lot of audio production and work currently. I use a gateway with Cubase, and its not bad, but I feel like I need something mroe high end.
I'm looking at the 17 inch Imac. Does anyone record using this computer? How's it sound? Is there any way to put in a new soundcard or something if i don't like the current one?
Secondly, is logic pro the most advanced and best audio recording software for the mac? Are there others as well?
I know about Pro Tools, but it seems like there isn't anything high end enough that is TOO high end.
Does the Pro version have superior mixing capabilties. I am primarily going to be micing a guitar amp and having a mixer run into a firewire port, and also using a preamp for my guitar direct into the computers USB.
Lastly, how are the mixing features on Logic Pro vs. Logic Express? I do a lot of post production mixing as well, and use VST plugins. Speaking of that, will it accomodate using a drum program like BFD through VST or Midi like Cubase will?
    Thanks for your time guys.

Yes, you do indeed need sth more high end.

It's not an iMac, but a faithful PowerBook G4 that I am using. Apples Core Audio is awesome. Your sound, however, will depend on your interface.

That's why we are here, and that's why you ended up in this forum as well
To me personally, Logic sounds warmer and bigger than any ProTools system I've ever heard. From what yopu described as the work you need to do, there is no comparable application. Logic also offers you many more features above and beyond what you currently need to do.
I know about Pro Tools, but it seems like there isn't
anything high end enough that is TOO high end.
Everybody is using PT, and you should maybe get a Light Edition version of it. However, as stated above, Logic offers by far more possibilities.

capabilties. I am primarily going to be micing a
guitar amp and having a mixer run into a firewire

For your purpose, Logic does have superior mixing capabilities. In my humble opinion, only the popularity of PT made it become the choice of studios and engineers, but things are turning...

Logic Express? I do a lot of post production mixing

it accomodate using a drum program like BFD through

If you do post production mixing, forget about Logic Express altogether and go for Logic Pro. LP will accomodate tons of plug-ins, and it comes with a bunch of great one's as well!
The format for the plug-ins is called A(udio) U(nit) and works flawlessly. Many VST plug-ins are also available in AU format and the development of those is moving fast forward.
In other words, yes, you will be able to use BFD in Logic by means of the AU format.
    Thanks for your time guys.
    You're welcome.

  • Best Screen Recording Software for Mac?

Looking for recommendations on a good computer screen recording program, as I'm trying to make a tutorial video, and need to be able to record what I am doing on my computer screen.
Would prefer free, but don't mind paying a bit - quality is most important. Any advice would be appreciated - thanks!

    2nd vote:
    without doubt - Screenflow
    why ?
because, it is not only a 'grabber', but it includes an 'editor', drop-dead-simple as iMovie, which includes many features ESPECIALLY made for tutorials - e.g. you can zoom-in after recording without quality-loss, you can change cursor-size, highlite, 'print' pressed keys on screen, add a pic-in-pic (if you like your face in your tuts ) ..
    side-note: screen-grabs are off the standards, iM or FinalCut/express support! so, a built-in editor is a ++ ! (the exports/uploads from a SF-project are superb!)
not cheap, but worth every cent!

  • Recording Software for WVC210G ip camera

    Hi all,
I have an issue with finding the Camera  Recording software.
we purchased the ip camera WVC210G and was searching  for the Camera Recording software 'L-VM300-04'  for viewing 4 Cameras.
But from Cisco and Distributor we came to know that the product has the EOL(End of Life)
So it would be great if anybody can  suggest the equivalent software for the same
    Regards,
    Sooraj

    Hi Sooraj,
Thank you for posting. The Video Monitoring Software is developed by Nuuo: http://www.nuuo.com/
I believe that they have a similar product to L-VM300-04 and you can license the software from them if you can no longer obtain a license for the Cisco product.

  • I have an old mini running os x 10.4 . im about to upgrade to 10.6 (the highest this dinosaur will upgrade to) but i have a ton of music recording software installed and need to know if it will affect it . please help ? any of it

i have an old mini running os x 10.4 . i'm about to upgrade to 10.6 but have a ton of music and recording software installed and need to know if it will affect any thing i have installed . does newer garageband  work with older gband files ?please help ??

Sorry about that, yes, 10.5 and 10.6 on Intel can run Firefox 4.
Here's the process to roll back:
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, download and save Firefox 3.6 to your desktop for future installation. http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older
You could install Firefox 3.6 over Firefox 4 (many have reported success) or you could uninstall Firefox first. If you uninstall, do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program.
Firefox 3.6 should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, please post back with details.
Note: I haven't actually tried this myself!

  • Action recording software?

Can someone tell me if there are action recording software?
I'm doing repetitive tasks over and over again in FCPX
I just had a thought: I could automate using an action recording tool
I know I could do in Windows, there are a few things That I've tried in the past that could be used
I've looked at Automator and that doesnt quite fit the bill - or actually, maybe I havent got my head round how to use it!
Are there any 3rd party tools that will record what windows you are using and record the phyisical location of mouse clicks for example?
    Thanks
    Omar

Or Quicktime, which you probably have.

  • Analogue video recording software

I'm currently using a canopus advc110 video card and quicktime pro as my recorder. Quicktime pro allows four different quality settings for the recording which is nice but not enough. I would like to have my computer processing the video I'm importing to a much small file then the quicktime options allow. Is there video recording software available to do this. I want something dedicated primarily for recording that is versatile with a lot of different quality and codec options. Something that would also give me a AVI with mjpeg codec with out any post conversions would be fantastic....save me buying a PC for customers want AVIs.

    thanks Nick
I'm realizing the limitations at this point and also realized that DV codec is what I should be putting out to have editable files and there is no getting as much time as I want on a smaller file to do this properly. I'll stick with the approach you suggest here and as to AVIs I can't seem to get a compatible export for PC with the options that quicktime allows for AVI unless no that I've clicked the legacy codec option as you suggest that I find a mjpeg option more my AVIs. Mpeg steamclips seems to do a good job of it though.

  • Samson C01U USB mic/audio recording software.

whats small, free, and reliable audio recording software? on Mac OS X.10.4.5
On XP I like adobe audition, and cool edit pro2
Im having hard time getting Samson C01U USB Studio Condenser Mic to record on my emac ,on audacity
    http://www.samsontech.com/

Cubase LE is good, but Garageband, part of the iLife 06 suite is nice. I recorded a vocal trio to backing tracks and mixed it down to CD using only the effects provided in the program.
Like any software recording system, the more effects you add the more processing power you're using up, but garageband works real well.
I used the Presonus Firepod as an interface, worked fine. Any interface box will work.
If you're only doing a single audio input for a podcast, then Quicktime pro is good. It's not free, but for 30+ bucks it's worth the investment.
    I've used a piece of Shareware.... D-SoundPro
you can google search it. Nice stand alone piece of software, does some amazing things with audio for a shareware product.
    Hope this helps.

  • Recording Software & WVC54GCA/WVC80N Compatibility

    Hello,
I have three WVC54GCA Wireless-G cameras and am using the Internet Home Monitoring Recording Viewer & Recorder software.  The cameras are GREAT the software is really POOR.  I have waited for a long time for some sort of update.  When the WVC80N was released I thought that this was my answer, but tech support told me that my current WVC54GCA's are compatible with the latest software for the WVC80N's and also vise-versa.  That is ridiculous!!!  I either have to keep buying the older WVC54GCA and use the software that is insufficient or upgrade my current cameras to WVC80N's.  Then on top of that I read on the forum that the WVC80N software is even WORSE.
Looking for confirmation that I cannot use the new WVC80N software with my WVC54GCA's.  Also, the tech told me that I could have 12-15 cameras, and I think the recording software only supports 9.  I have read that there is some alternative Linksys IP camera surveillance utility and plan to try that.  Are there any other software alternatives out there?  I don't think that my WVC80N's support storing motion capture to NAS.
It is disappointing that Linksys has great hardware, but software that falls FAR short, which they don't update.

I just received an email from the company who makes the NetCam Watcher after having some problems getting the two of my cameras to work.
    They report:
We don't support these cameras. You have found just what we found, that some work and some don't.
Any other suggestions out there?  I tired FTP'ing and have it successfully working; however even on the most sensitive motion detection it does not pick people walking across the room in some places.  This motion was caught by the software that came with the cameras.

  • Free Screen Recording Software

I need a free screen recording software. Anyone know of any good ones?  I have been looking at CamStudio.org but I can't find anyone to really vouch for it yet and the download package is sketchy at best. It's a zip file with a single .exe so I tried unzipping it in a VM and it wouldn't uncompress fully (stops at like 93% and just holds) I've scanned it but I'm still sketchy.
Anyone have an alternative to that one, or can vouch for that one?

  • Screen Recorder Software

    Hello
I'm looking for Screen Recorder software for 10.4 - I understand there's a version of Quick Time which actually has a built-in feature to enable 'on-screen' recording.  I would also pay for such a software program.
I searched the internet and came up with this, (10.4 Min Syst. Requirement).

Has anyone tried this, or knows where there's a decent program?
    Thanx for your help!
    Mike

That is the cheapest I've seen, but beware...
    * During installation of this download you will be given the option to install Google® Chrome and closely related programs from the NCH Software suite. These are optional and you can select what you want depending on your requirements.
Likely adware as well as the Chrome spyware, & very well may be Intel 10.4 & above only.
I think Quicktime Pro had such an option, good luck finding that though!
