Is it necessary to have a screen protector for the iphone 5?

does it help protect the screen because it affects the resolution when it exists....

I'm note sure I quite agree with tonefox, but taking his point, it may or may not be necassary for you. While I do not have one - nor feel I need one - for my iPad, I certainly do have on on my iPhone. I've seen the conditions of all of my cell phones at the end of a two year contract. Scratched like they have been on the bad end of a cat fight. So I got an Otterbox Commuter for the phone, which included the screen protector. Even if I eventually choose to go commando with the phone in terms of a case (and I might), I'll keep a screen protector on it.
BTW: a decent screen protector should NOT effect the resolution of the screen. That's typically a sign of an inferior one.

  • Do u  need a screen protector for the Iphone

I know it might be a stupid question but alot of my friends have the Iphone 4 and they say they dont need a screen protector because the screen doesnt scratch like other smartphone and phone screens. Anyone know if this is true?
    Eric

I use all my devices naked. Screen protectors detract from my enjoyment. But if you're worried, try one and see if you can live with it.
The glass is really strong. I've had my iPad for eight months and it doesn't have a scratch on it. Granted, that device is babied more than a phone, not shoved in a pocket.
Be sure to follow Apple's directions for cleaning the screen. Cleaning it too often can break down the oils that protect the glass.

  • Does anyone know if the new iPad fits the Powersupport screen protector for the iPad 2? And if so, where can I get it installed?

Hey, I was just wondering because I am purchasing my New iPad on Sunday! So excited! But I want to order a screen protector before I go and purchase it. I heard you could get screen protectors installed at Best Buy, but I'm not sure!! Please help!

I just got the powersupport crystal fil for the iPad2 and installed it on my new iPad (3rd gen). It fits perfectly and so far it doesn't affect anything (proximity, portrait/landscape rotation). in my opinion it's the best screen protector for the iPhone so naturally I thought i'd give it a go on the iPad (no adhesive, easy install, great quality etc). One note though, I'm not sure if the anti-glare one would work well on the new iPad with the retina display. I know the iPhone 4 uses a different one than the 3GS. Oh and Best Buy doesn't sell the powersupport.

  • Screen Protector for the TM2

Anyone know of a good screen protector for the TM2 that doesn hinder the touch screen? I have done a search but nothing comes up. Maybe its just too new for now.
    Will a TX2 screen protector fit? I don't have a TX2 so I can't compare the screen sizes.
    Thanks

I am using the Photodon protector for the TX2. It's honestly a bit small. They will cut them to size. I found videos online and apparently the Photodon interfered the least as far as glare reducing screen protectors go. It does reduce the touch sensitivity some, but I've noticed very little difference after initial adjustment. I like to take my college assignments and reading to the park with the kids and the nice mirror screen does not do well for that, so I went for the glare reducing despite the bit of fuzziness that results. The display works quite nice in spite of it. The inking, which I thought was excellent before the protector, is actually even better. I think the minute amount of texture actually enhances pen action. My two cents. I'm ordering another custom fit to size presuming my replacement machine performs better than my initial. I'm having a ton of post errors. I think it's bios, honestly, but HP offered me a deal I'm having a hard time refusing...still very torn. I ordered this to my specs with nearly every upgrade included. The replacement would not have my fingerprint reader and I've been trying to go without it to determine whether I can live without it. Frankly, in tablet mode, it's a godsend, although it is not nearly as functional as my old Toshiba laptop's was...It would register far more websites and programs than the one included with the tm2...still, logging on from sleep in slate is miserable without it! I tried an app that lets you sign your name instead, but it doesn't seem to like Win 7 64 no matter what I do, including unpacking the MSI and manually placing files in folders.
Sorry, got off topic...but give Photodon a try.

  • Does apple recommend a screen protector for the iPad 4?

Does Apple recommend a screen protector for the iPad with a retina screen?

Apple's recommendations are usually hardware and software related. How to charge the battery, the benefits of backing up, transferring purchases, and things like that.
I have never seen Apple officially recommend any third party accessory and I doubt that they ever will do so. Using a screen protector is up to the individual. I have always used a screen protector of some type on all of my iDevices. I have somewhat oily skin and I would rather trash and have to clean a screen protector than have to keep up with cleaning the glass.
I have an iPad 3 and I have it encased in an OtterBox Defender case with a built in screen protector. My iPad 3 is in pristine condition - screen and back. My OtterBox Defender has taken quite a beating however, and I prefer that the case take the abuse and not the iPad!

  • Screen protector for the back of iPhone 4?

I bought a screen protector for my iPhone 4 for obvious safety reasons. I also seen screen protectors for the back of the phone as well. Since it is glass also I was wondering if it is practical to shell out the money for a screen cover for the back also or if anyone has had any problems without one.

Well, I didn't mess with trying to figure out if I could scratch it. I just put on a front, back, and sides cover from best skins ever. Here is the website http://www.bestskinsever.com/
    Well worth the money.

Just wanna ask if you guys have a battery case for the iphone 5? Thanks!

    Huh?
It seems as if you though that you were addressing Apple here.
I was letting you know that you are not addressing Apple here at all.
    Respect my post.

  • Is it safe to not have a screen protector on my iPhone 4?

I want to know if there will be any real damage if there isn't.

I have a 3G with no screen protector.  The screen looks as good as new 3 years later.  I don't keep my phone in my pocket along with my keys and change. I used to carry it in a pocket by itself, though.

  • Should I use a screen protector for an iPhone 6 Plus?

I just bought an iPhone 6 Plus and can't decide if I want/need a screen protector on it. I take great care of my phones and do not set it carelessly down on any surface.

    Yes.
We were going without for the first time, and after only 2 weekes,  my wife just showed me a hairline scratch on hers.  She says it could not possibly have happened, but it did.
I just ordered screen protectors for both of ours.

  • What is the best privacy screen protector for the MacBook Air?

I am looking for a privacy screen protector for my 13" MacBook Air that will interfere the least amount possible with image clarity and such. I work in a busy university medical center as an intern (so sadly I do not have my own office) and would like to be able to use my MacBook while sitting somewhat close to other people. Privacy is an issue because the information I deal with is protected by HIPAA and FERPA. What are the best privacy screen protectors out there, as far as quality and performance go?

Best there is, is the 3M privacy screen

3M has the entire marked cornered in quality exotic plastic films and screens.

  • Should you put a screen protector on the iphone if the case is going to be a otterbox defender?

I am trying to figure out if I need a screen protector on my iphone 4s if I am using a Otterbox Defender.  The salesman suggested I should but I know a lot of people who do not use any screen protection on other cases/shells.

I never used a screen protector while my iPhone was in the Defender case. The Otterbox case is engineered to protect your device. I'm not sure why the salesman suggested you use both. I used the Otterbox Defender case for a little over a year and my iPhone was flawless when I removed it. Hope this helps.
