No. But if you have software that requires a later version of OS X, then you will need to upgrade in order to use it.
You can start the process, should you choose to do so, by upgrading first to Snow Leopard.

There are a number of threads from other people reporting the same iTunes connection issue, it looks like there might be a problem at Apple's end - but you could try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if it then works, but it probably won't until Apple's fixed it

IPod touch wont update apps but it will install new ones?

My iPod touch 4th with ios 6.1.6 wont update apps, but i can install a new one.
I go to the app store, updates, they show up i can hit update all or do them separately doesn't matter.
Click on update it will switch to installing and ask for my password. Enter it and the installing will change back to update and do nothing.
I have 47GB of space and no more later versions of ios to upgrade to. This one particular app upgrade only requires ios 4. something.
With all this i am still able to install a new app and make purchases.

Go to the App Store and look at the requirements for the update. The update may require iOS 7 or higher. Sometimes updates get coded incorrectly and thus the iPod says an update is applicable when it really is not.

Updating podcasts to just the latest "new" one

I used to have my podcasts set to manual and when I wanted new ones, I only wanted the latest new one. Not all of them as I dont have the time for them all.
I used to be able to downlaod them that way until iTunes 11. I have it set still to manually download the lasted new one only, but it downloads them all. I get a hundred or so,
How do I get it back to how it once was?

I also emailed Apple for help with this and they recommended this forum. I read that there are a lot of problems with podcasts with iTunes ver 11.
I have mine set to manual with downloading the most recent one. But when I click update it downloads all that are available. Not just the newest like I have it set at.
There is also a download arrow - I guess it is - but my number of podcasts change to add all of those to my total.With a complete Blue dot beside them. But when it downloads it seems like it only downloads the one but the total is changed showing I have them all.
Does ANYONE know how this works now.
You would think there are some apple people that can help with this but the fellow that emailed me from Apple Support had no idea at all about podcasts and their settings and how it works.

I had an Apple TV that was bricked by an update and had to buy a new one. Will Apple come good?

I had an early Apple TV that stopped working during an update. I took it to the apple dealer where I bought it, and they confirmed that it was no longer working. Because it was beyond warranty, I had to buy a new one. Now learning that updates can damage the unit, I feel that Apple owes me a replacement. I no longer have the old unit. Is there any chance that Apple will credit me for my cost?

Return the new one now. They give you 2 weeks, no quesitons asked to return it if you are not satisfied. Return it at an actual Apple Store and not a dealer. Bring the bricked one to the Apple Store as well, not the dealer, and make a Genius Bar appointment to have it looked at. They will either reset it and make it work or replace it at no charge. Review others' posts on the boards here and you will see many people have done this with no problem. Apple knows it is an issue with this update and they will not let you leave without a working unit.

After my 90 day service warranty or whatever was up my phone wouldn't update my apps. It keeps asking for billing information. The information is correct and i've tried taking the card off my storee account and then back on and nothing. Im at loss of what to do. Can anyone help???

TVSU updates itself at startup, but the new one does not work

I have just installed TVSU 4.0, the Feb 18 version, on my T410 with Win7 x64 Ultimate.
At first run it said "TVSU needs to update", I proceeded, and the update installed apparently fine.
But then, when I run TVSU, the splash screen stays there for some minutes, then vanishes, and nothing happens.
Is this because of the site maintenance?

Updating JFrame with creating a new one

Hi All,
I instantiate an object as follows, which creates a JFrame
_imageOutput = new ImageOutput(array, offsetArray);
however this is inside a loop and instead of updating the JFrame is creates a new one each time. How can I stop it from creating a new one each time?

_imageOutput = new ImageOutput(array, offsetArray);
then OF COURSE it creates a NEW ImageOutput object.
If you want to update it (whatever that mean) then add a new method in that object like Update(). Then everytime you want to update it, use
_imageOutput.Update() . You can refresh the graphics of a JComponent with repaint().

Is it necessary to update Aperture 3.4 to 3.5 when you update to Mavs? Or does it work just the same? I have filters (Color Efex Pro) I don't want to lose with the update to 3.5.

It depends, on what else you want to use. If you have iPhones or iPads on IOS 7, the shared Photo Streams are not compatible with Aperture 3.4.
Also, if you are using iPhoto with your Aperture libraries, take care not to upgrade iPhoto beyond 9.4.3, or idon't open your Aperture library in iPhoto, else you will not be able to open it in Aperture any longer.

table is updated with new stored procedures which include the additional columns
However, the sample does not update scope_config. When I am finished, the new columns do not appear in the scope config. Looking at the SQL code it is immediately obvious why. Here is an excerpt from the beginning of the query

Is it necessary to update my N97 mini?

Is it necessary to update my phone? Have no problems with it, and it is stable. I`m using Opera Mini as web-browser and have installed A-sms (Animated SMS). Ovi Maps 3.06 (beta?) is installed and works fine. Handy Taskman helps me monitoring the system and the memory.
What is the purpose of updating (from v 12.0.110) to the latest software when I am satisfied with the existing? It is perhaps a little slow, but there is no problem for me to wait half a second before a program starts.

when will there be an update for Lightroom 4 which provides the option to import RAW-files from the Olympus OM-D E-M10 directly into LR4?

Lightroom 5.0 came out in June 2013 with a public beta for LR5 available at Adobe Labs back in April 2013. It seems you may have been unlucky purchasing the old version just before the new version came out, or perhaps LR5 required a minimum OS level your computer didn’t have.
Purchasing a new version every year isn’t necessary, but you do have to buy a new version whenever you buy an unsupported camera.
Adobe employees need to get paid just like the rest of us, and their releasing a new payfor version every so often is how they get paid.
Never mind that the new version has improvements beyond new camera support, so there was a full development-release-training-marketing effort behind it.

Update 0VTF Route Determination with a new Shipping Condition

Hello,
I have created a new Shipping Condition to have a different route determination.
I have completed the configuration as Standard SAP procedures for Routes determination.
However, in order to apply this solution in production, it's going to be necessary to update the new "Shipping Condition" for more than 8,000 routes in Production environment.
Transaction: 0VTF
Table: TROLZ
According to the Abap team, the changes by CATT is not possible because the Transaction requires specific selection and "double click" functionality.
Using BDC and LSMW is not possible, since they had problem already in the past with both options.
I still have sent a message to SAP without any successfull answer.
Can you let me know if there is a Standard SAP solution for it or a BAPI to massively update the routes determination?

You can use CATT to maintain the route determination. Use tcode SM30/SM31 to update view V_TROLZ01 for recording. You don't have to double click anywhere. Let me know if this works.
