Be a bit more specific if you can.  What is not operating normally?

Is it normal for iPad 4 to get warm when charging?

Both the iPad and charger get warm.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. In rare instances when using the Camera Connection Kit, you may notice that iPad does not charge after using the Camera Connection Kit. Disconnecting and reconnecting the iPad from the charger will resolve this issue.

  • Is the charging cord for the iPad 4 the same as the charging cord for the iPad mini?

Is the charger for the iPad 4 the same as the charger for the iPad mini?

    You have 2 questions here.
The actual cable is the same Lightning USB cable for all 3 current generation products. That is iPad Mini, iPad4 and iPhone 5. All the same.
The charger, however, that comes with the Mini is the 5W charger. This is the same charger that comes with the iPhone 5. However the charger for the iPad 4 is the larger 12W charger.
You can use the larger 12W charger to charge every other device, but the 5W charger will not correctly charge the iPad 4 as it requires more power than it can provide.

Using the same Apple id and Password you should be able to download purchased apps without being charged again.
I download to an iPad/iPad2/iPhone3 & iPhone4 with no problem.

  • Is it normal for 10-20% cpu to be used when idle and watching activity monitor?

Is it normal for 10-20% cpu to be used when idle and watching activity monitor?
I have a macbook 6,1, 4gb of ram, and my os seems to be spinning the rainbow quite often and laggy. I watch my activity monitor and it never drops below 90% cpu available. Is this normal? if not what can I do to clean up my os. Does anyone have any resources or help? Thanks

    Hello:
    Answer - no.
The activity monitor should indicate what is consuming the processor when your system is idle.
I just looked at my own system with Safari running and the usage is about 3%.

  • My iPad mini adapter gets hot when charging?

Why does my iPad mini FireWire get hot when charging?

The iPad does not have FireWire, do you mean the USB cable?  The charger and cable will get warm during charging but should not actually be hot.  If they are too hot to handle, try a different charger/cable and see if they are just as hot.
If not, take the iPad, charger and cable to an Apple store genius bar to be examined by the technicians.

  • How long does it take for an ipad mini with retina to fully charge

  • Ipad will not turn off when charging

When I charge my iphone I usually plug it in and then power it off. I cant get this to work with ipad; it will power down and then restart. How can I get it to stay powered down?

I posted this on a previous thread a couple of day ago. I don't know exactly how the iPad is supposed to behave, but I was able to experience not being able to shut the device off completely after having done so for weeks. For me it seems to be related to how low the battery is ....
I experienced this very "bug" last night when I started to charge my iPad. I had never run the battery down to 15% prior to last night. When I plugged in the charger, it would restart, I would turn it off and then it would restart. I repeated this process four or five times and then I finally decided to simply put the iPad to sleep while it was charging, before I turned in for the night.
When I woke up this morning to a 100% charge I decided to try to repeat the process. I unplugged the iPad from the charger, turned it on and then turned it off again. Then I plugged the charger back in, the iPad turned on and then I turned it off and it stayed off this time.
My suggestion is that it may be that the iPad is supposed to behave this way when the battery power drops below a certain percentage. I too became a bit concerned at first as I had never experienced that before. Now that the iPad is behaving "normally" again, I am assuming that the device is built to continue to restart while recharging when the battery drains to a low level.
Mine is working fine, no worries and all is good. Happy holidays!

  • Is it normal for my ipad not to sync to my computer?

My ipad wont sync with the computer anymore. i have the latest itunes and ipad software and it just wont upload. this is the message i keep getting. ' one of the usb devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not reccognise it'i have windows seven. and this has never been a problem ever.

You can look through this and try the troubleshooting steps in it.
iOS: Device not Recognized in iTunes for Windows
You can try this as well - Recovery Mode. This will restore the iPad if you want to go that route.
iOS: Unable to Update or Restore
It just seems so odd that this would just start happening on your iPad. You did say that this never happened before until recently - correct?
Is your iPad performing normally otherwise? Your apps are working, you can play music, connect to the internet with Safari....???

  • Is normal for the ipad get hot on the back while in use?, Is normal for the ipad get hot on the back wile in use?

I have an ipad, when is being used it gets hot on the back, is that normal?

Warm is normal. The processor and battery generate heat. 'Too hot to handle', quite literally, is a good rule of thumb for when to stop using it and make an appointment to get your device checked out.

  • Is it normal for an ipad to shut down on its own?

the problem is my ipad suddenly shut down on its own having 70% of the battery charged and it would´t turn on again. i went for help to the mac service on my city, im from mexico, and the guy there just turned it on using the home button and the power button, and said it was normal, it happend to all ipads, iphones and ipods, i did not consider it normal, i own 2 ipads, 1 ipod touch, 1 iphone 3gs, 1 iphone 4, and i know other iphone users that have never had this problem, but the guy just said its normal. so i want to know of he told me the truth.

It happens occasionally- it's happened to me once (so far) and if you search these forums you will probably find a couple of threads a day from people who have had the same thing.

  • Is it normal for an iPad Air 2 to do this every time it is booted?

Whenever it is booted (that is, turned on after being completely turned off), it (always) asks for WiFi network, AppleID password, whether or not I want Find My iPad turned on, whether or not I want to set up ApplePay, and whether or not I want to set up iCloud Keychain.
Is it supposed to do that every time, and if not, how do I fix it?
I received this iPad Air 2 for Christmas, and restored settings from my first-generation iPad.

I think it has something to do with the backup data becoming corrupted, because if you restore the iPad to factory settings and set it up as a new iPad, the glitch is fixed.

  • Is this normal for the iPad's front facing camera?

Whenever I use the front facing camera, there is always a tiny white line at the exact same spot, regardless if I rotate it.  It isn't a problem with the screen because if I switch to the rear facing camera everything's normal.  I would love to post a pic but I dint know how.  Does anyone know if it is a hardware problem or just the light?

You can make a screenshot by pressing both keys once (home and sleep) for an instant, until you see a flash.
It may be an hardware problem; is there a strong light behind you? Some cameras are sensitive to some light sources and may show a line.

  • Is it normal for the MacBook Pro to make noises when I put it to sleep?

I apologize for posting a new question so soon, but I wanted to get my technical problems with my MacBook Pro sorted out before I go back to school.
I'm worried about this one thing that happens when my MacBook Pro goes to sleep. After I close the laptop and it goes into "sleep mode" every few minutes or so it makes this noise like it keeps on turning on then going back to sleep, turning on then going back to sleep. It never did this before. Does anyone else hear these weird noises when it's in sleep mode?
For some reason it does not make these noises when I press the power button, and then press sleep. So this confuses me.

I have the same problem after just having my logic board replaced.

  • Is it normal for LR to freeze up 5 minutes when moving source of spot repair?

I've been using LR several years and, until last week, always left unchecked the "Automatically write changes into XMP" box in Catalog Settings because I had read that it slows performance (which seems logical).  However, several gurus recommend checking that box so that metadata is always current in the image files or XMPs.  So, I checked the box last week and didn't notice any performance change except when selecting a bunch of files and making a change.  But, yesterday I discovered and validated that if, during spot repair, I don't like LR's choice of where to draw from and move that source to another location, LR seriously locks up--5 minutes or more.  When I un-check the box, there is no freeze.  I'm working with high-res .TIF files here, scans from slides at about 50 Mpx & 16 bit depth so around 110 MB on disk; I haven't tried this yet on a raw file where LR would only be re-writing a small XMP file.
Has anyone else seen this?  Is there a workaround other than un-checking the box, which I've done while I'm doing spot repair?  It seems like LR might be re-writing the file for every set of pixel coordinates between initial and final location when I drag the source, rather than just the final new coordinates when I release the mouse button.

Locking for 5 minutes is abnormal. With auto-write xmp enabled it should just tag the files for xmp writing to be done leisurely in the near future (in the background) and not interfere with anything, whether it's trying to do it for every incremental movement or not.
That said, I recommend leaving auto-write xmp off anyway. Why?
You've already got current settings in the catalog. If you only save
xmp manually, after milestone editing and inspection of images,
then you are guaranteed xmp does NOT included the same goofs
your catalog does (or might). If you never goof, then please identify
home planet, cause it sure ain't Earth, and you sure ain't human..
So, my advice? - have a "finalization" procedure - when done editing
    images, for now anyway:
    * inspect image edits..
    * save XMP.
That way, if ever you need to fall back to a "milestone" state which isn't
in backup catalog, you can just read XMP.
    Cheers,
    Rob
