Is over 400 hours (and counting) normal for iTunes to authenticate an iBook before uploading to iBooks store? Does the size of the document make a difference?
Any help or advice greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

OK, by coincidence this  happened to me just  yesterday as I was updating  a book, I   was doing other things and  noticed after about an  hour  it was still  showing loading lines.
Its locked up somewhwere and  I just closed/ force close if needed.. and started the delivery process again.
This time it  took 20 minutes or so which was what I expected.
If it  happens a second time, try starting the  Publish from within iBA, but  first  check the  xxxxxxx.itmsp number and  check if it issues a new xxxxx.itmsp, if it does.. delete the old one to avoid confusion.

The path C:\users\owner\appdata\local\apple\apple software update\bonjour64.msi cannot be found. verify that you have access to this location and try again or try to find the installation package "bonjour64.msi" in a folder from which you can install the product bonjour.
Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on 25 June 2010. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Itunes keeps freezing just after it is opened!

After attempting to download the latest version of iTunes, I had the message that the download had not installed successfully and should attempt a manual download and install.  However, every time I open iTunes it freezes after a minute or so and Task Manager informs me that iTunes is not responding.  I've re-started my PC several times but the problem persists!  Any ideas?

  • Itunes/ipod freeze when i try to sync my ipod

yesterday i downloaded the most recent version of itunes. i successfully synced my ipod the first time. but now when i try to sync my ipod, itunes freezes up and eventually quits sync-ing.
i've restored my ipod twice, but it hasn't helped -- each time i trying to sync the ipod, it will begin the process, but freeze after 7-30 songs of 2200.
and now i just tried to scroll through my ipod songs to see how many were actually there, and it froze up.
    please help. thanks.

I'm having an similar problem after updating to iTunes 7.1.1.5, Windows XP. I'm using a 3rd Gen 40G iPod. I have reinstalled iTunes several times and restored the iPod so that all data in it has been erased. When I try to synch the iPod to iTunes, first of all it copies very slowly, and then, it will fail after about seven or eight songs and I get the error message that the synch failed due to an unknown cause (error -124). I am able to eject the iPod and iTunes appears to work correctly. I've tried this several times and the same error keeps occurring.

  • ITunes 11.1.2 will not finish syncing

I'm sure there's already a thread for this, but has anyone been able to get a message to Apple's iTunes programming directorate that the latest version of iTunes for Windows (11.1.2) is bug-ridden? Specifically, whether I'm syncing my iPhone 5s or my iPad 3rd Gen., the sycing process hangs at the last step, when process the window at the top of my iTunes screen says "finishing sync." The only think I can do is to hit the eject button and then reconnect it. This bug doesn't seem to be doing anything destructive to the devices, but it is a pain in the butt. I hope Apple releases a fix soon, and I hope there's no file corruption happening that the end user is unaware of.

I'm having a similar problem - but the difference being the device isn't recognised at all!!! The latest updates for IOS and iTunes are filled with bugs, it's so annoying I can no longer sync my iPod Touch (5th gen) and the device itself isn't sending iMessages & Facetime won't work!
This thread is about devices not syncing properly.  If your iPod Touch isn't behaving normally it's more likely that there's an issue with the device itself.
    First try resetting it:

  • Normal for iTunes to download a game already purchased on iPad?

I downloaded a large (500MB) game on my iPad, and after syncing with iTunes, the game appeared in the list of apps. However, then iTunes proceeded to download the game from the iTunes store.
Is this normal behavior? Doesn't iTunes simply transfer items purchases on a mobile device to the library when the device is synced. This is always how it's worked in the past. Does this have to do with iCloud or something?

Thanks. So with this setting, iTunes will not copy the item from the mobile device, instead it will download it? I just want to make sure I don't have doubles of things.
This seems odd, because, for example, after I spend an hour downloading 10 TV shows to my iPad, why would I want to spend another hour downloading them to my computer as well...especially when they could be transferred via USB?
Isn't this how it was done in the past?
If I don't tick off the download boxes, are things still copies via USB when the device is synced?

  • HT2729 is it normal for itunes to open when I click on quick times links?

I just installed a new version of Quick Time Player after I uninstalled it
I have not used it for a long time.
Everytime I click on something to view (like a HD Movie or new artist) I get re-routed to ITunes.
    I hate this !
is this how it works now?
I would like to be able to see new movie trailers, etc from the QuickTime player and not have to open I-Tunes.  That is ridiculous
anyone have the answer to this

It would appear that the links you are clicking on are to media stored in iTunes. Apple now serves up virtually all its material through iTunes which plays nice on OSX, I believe not so nice in Windows (probably a return favor for what is done to Mac users by Microsoft).
iTunes is not purely a commercial venture. It also serves up an enormous amount of free and educational material, as well as allowing you to convert your own media to more usable forms on your computer or iDevice.
I can understand Apple not wanting to maintain two libraries of what is essentially the same material. It helps sell stuff as well that the promotional material is only a click away for you to buy. Apple is a business and iTunes is free for a reason.

  • Is it normal for LR to freeze up 5 minutes when moving source of spot repair?

I've been using LR several years and, until last week, always left unchecked the "Automatically write changes into XMP" box in Catalog Settings because I had read that it slows performance (which seems logical).  However, several gurus recommend checking that box so that metadata is always current in the image files or XMPs.  So, I checked the box last week and didn't notice any performance change except when selecting a bunch of files and making a change.  But, yesterday I discovered and validated that if, during spot repair, I don't like LR's choice of where to draw from and move that source to another location, LR seriously locks up--5 minutes or more.  When I un-check the box, there is no freeze.  I'm working with high-res .TIF files here, scans from slides at about 50 Mpx & 16 bit depth so around 110 MB on disk; I haven't tried this yet on a raw file where LR would only be re-writing a small XMP file.
Has anyone else seen this?  Is there a workaround other than un-checking the box, which I've done while I'm doing spot repair?  It seems like LR might be re-writing the file for every set of pixel coordinates between initial and final location when I drag the source, rather than just the final new coordinates when I release the mouse button.

Locking for 5 minutes is abnormal. With auto-write xmp enabled it should just tag the files for xmp writing to be done leisurely in the near future (in the background) and not interfere with anything, whether it's trying to do it for every incremental movement or not.
That said, I recommend leaving auto-write xmp off anyway. Why?
You've already got current settings in the catalog. If you only save
xmp manually, after milestone editing and inspection of images,
then you are guaranteed xmp does NOT included the same goofs
your catalog does (or might). If you never goof, then please identify
home planet, cause it sure ain't Earth, and you sure ain't human..
So, my advice? - have a "finalization" procedure - when done editing
    images, for now anyway:
    * inspect image edits..
    * save XMP.
That way, if ever you need to fall back to a "milestone" state which isn't
in backup catalog, you can just read XMP.
    Cheers,
    Rob

  • Downloaded itunes to a new computer (W-Vista) and my itunes work except for itunes store - it just shows a download page for itunes 10

I had itunes 8, and today downloaded the new itunes 10 and now i have issues.

    1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
    2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
    3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.
above works for purchases from the iTunes store. for everything else, check out this post by Zevoneer.
