Is it oh ok to charge your macbook air and also use it? worried.

I'm worried because i just got my macbook like just last week. the frist week I got it didn't use it alot but the second week i use more frequely. But now my question is can i use it willl it charging any feed back would be great

Charge it when or how you want, the Air will shunt further charging after its fully charged
NEVER let your Air die from lack of power, not due to battery, but doing same can cause a file corruption.
LiPo (lithium polymer, same as in your Air) batteries do not need conditioning. However...
LiPo batteries do NOT like to be dropped to close to 0%    Try to keep it above 10% or so, and drop it to 10% or less as little as possible.
Contrary to what some might say here, LIPo batteries have an "ideal" break in period.  First ten cycles or so, don't discharge down past 40% of the battery's capacity.
Same way you dont take a new car out and speed and rev the engine hard first 100 or so miles.
*Cycle count / use/ lifespan is one thing that cant be countered.
Proper treatment is another. Just because LiPo batteries dont need conditioning in general, does NOT mean they dont have an ideal use / recharge environment.

I have a MacBook Air and I use "Notes" when I delete a folder it comes back. How do I permanently delete it?

it all depends on what's running in the macbook air that causes it to heat up.
open activity monitor - change my processes to all processes - and on the %CPU, click it twice and see what running using 10% and above in the %CPU section.
highlight anything that are using high CPU percentage and hit quit process.  see if that brings the temperature back down to normal.
screenshot below is my activity monitor - have a look at it - nothing over 10% on the %CPU section.

  • Hi all. I'm wondering if it is possible to download a movie to your MacBook Air and watch the bit that is downloaded (while the rest of the movie is downloading) through my Apple TV? It won't seem to let me watch it until the movie is fully downloaded.

Our internet seems to take a while so it would be easier to watch it as it's downloading. Please help!!
    Thanks in advance!

The only way to stream it would be to rent or purchase directly on Apple TV, however if your connection is slow you would still have to wait before initital playback begins. Best to upgrade your service.

NAS storage, or networked together,  Airport Extreme
with Airport Extreme, you can have an attached HD on the back that any MAC on the network can read / write to
    thats what I do, easy.
attach a HD on the back of your Airport Extreme, put files, etc etc on it for any Mac or network to use / read / write to.
Also I store movies on it that I can watch WIFI on my Macbook Air, or ipads
    what fun.

  • Envy 4500 has stopped printing off both a Macbook Air and a Pro - was fine before

I've been very happy with my printer/scanner but today it has stopped printing off both my Macbook Air and Macbook Pro.  The printer seems fine so not sure why this has happened.  Please help!

    Hi @Swaggie,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that your HP Envy 4500 is not printing from your Macbook Air and your Macbook Pro. I am happy to help you with this printing issue!
For further assistance, I will need to know the following information:
The version number of the Mac Operating Systems. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the printer is connected, Wireless, or USB.
If the printer is able to make copies. Copy Text or Mixed Documents.
If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
If there are any error messages on the printer's display panel.
In the meantime, please take a look through this guide, 'Printer is offline' Message Displays on the Computer and the Printer Does Not Print: Mac OS X, and let me know what happens!
Hope to hear from you soon!

  • Charging New MacBook Air

All wattage ratings aside, will using a 16.5 volt MacBook adapter damage the batteries in the 11" MBA? The output of the 45W adapter that came with it applies 14.5 volts.

I also wondered about the voltage difference between MBP 60w+ adapters and the MBA 45w adapters.
Note that the article also states (it was updated 2/2011, since your last post) that:
Note: Adapters that shipped with the MacBook Air (Original), MacBook Air (Late 2008), and MacBook Air (Mid 2009) are not recommended for use with MacBook Air (Late 2010) models. When possible, use your computer's original adapter or a newer adapter.
newer adapters should power and charge your MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air just like the adapter that originally came with your computer
indicating backwards compatibility between newer adapters and older computers - but not necessarily the other way around, nor universal compatibility.
So I'm wondering how safe it is to power the Late 2010 Macbook Airs from older Macbook Pro adapters...

  • When I should start charging my MacBook Air?

Just wondering because in the iPhones/iPods it send you a notification, MacBooks don't.
    -Thanks.

I like charging my Macbook Air when it is down to 20%-10% because it is just like the iPhones, allowing you to use all of your battery life and then charging it up to 100%. Charging when the battery is low allows you to save time by not having to go and plug everything and makes you use almost every part of your battery life so that you don't waste electricity.
    Hope this helped

I don't think so, because this is not about garageband specificaly, it's about the mac using internal speakers and iphone headset microphone at the same time. Input Microphone via Jack and Output speakers on the laptop.

  • Can you use iPhone ear buds microphone with your MacBook Air?

If you use your ear buds to listen to your Facetime conversations, are also using the microphone on them to talk?

Yes you can. Any headset compatible with the iPhone works just fine for full duplex conversation on a MacBook Air of current design. The microphone and earphones are simultaneously active.
