Is it ok to keep the MBP charging all the time while in use?

will it shortened the battery life? or on the other hand, its good?
because the life count will be less
because i dont shut down my MBP most of the time, maybe i shut it down twice / week, so i keep it charging all the time, even if it;s not in use

No, as long as you make sure it goes through at least 1 charge cycle a month. this address may clear it up further.

  • Macbook battery life,  is there a problem If I keep it plugged almost all the time?

    Hello.
New Mac user here, so I was wondering if there's a problem if I keep my MBP plugged all the time.
Most of the time I'm on my room using my MBP fully charged and I don't disconnect it.
Is there a problem with my batter life if I do that?
Or it's recommended to unplug and use it till the battery run off and then charge it again?
Because I work a lot on my MBP and that way in a simple day I could charge it and run uff the energy of the battery 2 to 3 times at day.
What's better for the life of my battery?
And if you could give me some advices to maintenance my battery and Macbook pro (also programs) I would appreciate it.
    I own a Macbook Pro 13-inch, Mid 2012
    2.9 GHz Intel Core i7
    8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB
    With OS X 10.9
    Thanks

No. I do that most of the time.  Perhaps monthly I discharge it to the 40% level to keep the battery happy.  Do not discharge the battery completely.  If you are forced to use only battery power and you see the battery is low warning terminate your session or plug into AC if you can.
Here are Apple articles with official battery usage guidelines:

my iphone 5 cannot restart in itunes or by the power charger.  The apple icon keeps flashing

Basic Troubleshooting Steps when all else fails
    - Quit the App by opening multi-tasking bar, and swiping the App upward to make it disappear.  (For iOS 6 older, hold down the icon for the App for about 3-5 seconds, and then tap the red circle with the white minus sign.)
    - Relaunch the App and try again.
    - Restart the device. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    - Reset the device. (Same article as above.)
    - Reset All Settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings)
    - Restore from backup. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 (If you don't have a backup, make one now, then skip to the next step.)
    - Restore as new device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137  For this step, do not re-download ANYTHING, and do not sign into your Apple ID.
    - Test the issue after each step.  If the last one does not resolve the issue, it is likely a hardware problem.

  • My iPod touch gen5 wifi keeps dropping out. All the other iPods, iPads and iPhones don't in the house, just the iPod touch gen 5, entering the password every time is a pain, why can't it have a button to remember password like all the other devises.

My iPod touch gen5 wifi keeps dropping out. All the other iPods, iPad, and iPhone 4's don't in the house.
Why doesn't it remember the wifi password like the other i devises, it's a bugger entering it in every time.

You late question did get answered:on the 18th of this month. Sounds like you did not like the answers. Starting a new post without mentioning yur first post wastes people time
My iPod touch 5th gen isn't charging and when I plug my working charger in that I've always used a message pops up that says "This accessory may not be supported". So can I send it in for a new one if I have a warranty?

  • N97 Keeping the Display ON all the time

Is there anyway to do this?
The max time I can keep the display on for is 60 second, EVEN if the phone is connected to the mains adapter. This is rather stupid since there are times when I want the screen on all the time - eg. when connected to a power adapter in the car and running a GPS maps routing program.  I know Nokia Maps has an option to keep the screen on all the time, but as far as I can see Garmin MobileXT does not.
It seems odd to me to have to build this option into Nokia Maps - why not make it available as an option in the actual Symbian OS, then it doesn't need to be coded into every single app running on that platform.
Perhaps I am missing something? What do others do to get round this limitation?
    Thanks

Is it bad for the battery if i leave my nano 5th on the charger all the time?

No, it's actually what you're supposed to do. To prolong the battery life, try to keep its level high or full as much as you can.
I don't know for sure, but I think the iPod does not draw current from the charging battery but from the charger itself.

  • Can i use the charger all the time or should i unplug it when the battery is fully charged??

    Dear Freinds,
What do you think better for maintaing the battery performance?
keeping it charging all the time or unpluge the charger when it become fully charged, decharge it and then charge it again?

  • IPad doesn't charge all the time

Ipad doesn't charge all the time

Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • My iPhone 3GS keeps turning itself off all the time for no reason every time I put it on silent or just get a Facebook message I have a broken sleep/power button anyone know how to fix this problem?

My iPhone 3GS keeps turning itself off all the time the power/sleep button dosent work so it's quiet annoying having to plug it in all the time dose anyone have a fix for this?

The "fix" is to get the phone repaired.  There's no magic solution for a broken phone.
Bring your phone ant $149 to Apple for an out of warranty replacement, or find a 3rd party repair shop near you.

Is it normal for someone to have general diffuculty charging an ipad?  I see the "not charging" message even when I am using the charger and cord that came in the original box, plugged into a wall socket directly.  It is normal for me to plug it in overnight and to see no charge whatsoever the next day.  I have never had so much trouble using a friggin charger in my life.  It just seems to be exceedingly finicky.  What am I missing?

Charging your iPad should not be problematic. It should be an easy thing to do using the charger provided with your iPad connected to a known good wall outlet.
The charging problem you are experiencing is most like caused by:
    1. A faulty charger
    2. A faulty cable
    3. A bad wall outlet
    4. A problem in the iPad.
The first three of these are easiest to eliminate. Try a for ends charger and cable. Make absolutely sure your outlet is good. Try other outlets.
If the charger, cable and outlet a proven to be good then the problem lies in the iPad.
Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

  • Keep the powerbook on all the time

I keep my powerbook on all th time (which means I don't even put it to sleep ) essentially using it as a desktop. A friend of mine told me that this behaviour is bad for the hard drive as notebook hardrives are designed differently than those of desktops. Is there any truth to this. Would it be advisable to turn of the machine or make it go to sleep every day when I am not using it. I have disconnected the battery so that is not an issue.

Making the machine sleep is not going to preserve things in any way. Your friend is wrong about this being bad for the hard drive. When the disk is not being accessed it should not be spinning anyway. You can ensure this by checking "Put hard disk to sleep when possible" in the energy saver system preferences. The only other thing to be even slightly concerned about is the display. You may wish to choose to have the display turn off after being inactive for a while, but even this isn't a huge deal.

  • I have dual displays.  My dock is on the MBP bottom and the menu bar is on the extended monitors top.

I have a Dell 2408 acting as the main display and a 15" MBP.  For some reason, today the dock ended up on the MBP screen at the bottom and the menu bar is on the Dell at the top.  I can't seem to move the dock back to the Dell.  Can someone help?  I tried moving the menu bar to the MBP and then back, hoping the dock would follow but no luck.
    Thanks for your help.

When the dock is defined as on the bottom, it will appear on the screen of the extended desktop that is lowest.
Move the second monitor where the bottom edges are equal or the Dell is lower and the dock will move there.

    Captfred

Go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info (and then System Report in 10.7), then select Power from the left hand column of the System Profiler. Copy and paste the Battery Information back here.
Also it would help to know which one of the 9 different models of MacBook you have. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info (and then System Report in 10.7).When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier.
