Is it ok to use a pen to operate my ipod touch?
*so i was wondering that if i could use a pen like it's used for Palm, Blackberries, and other gadgets that have touch screen functions. Since I'm new at using touch scream feature and my fingers are kind of thick i always have mispelling mistakes. thank u*
OK? Yes. Possible? No. The touch is a capacitive screen, as opposed to a resistive one like on the Palm, and most cell phones. A resistive screen has two layers of glass separated by a thin gap. It works when a finger or stylus presses down and actually bends the glass so at the point of contact they are closer.
A capacitive screen works by sensing the capacitance in your finger. There is no bending (which is why a soft touch works as well as a hard one). Unfortunately stylus pens will not work on such a screen.

I want an iphone BUT do you need to activate it with a carrier (which I don't want) in order to use the itunes store/app store on it or can you just use it like you would an ipod touch?http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3406
You activate with Apple not a carrier but you do need "A" sim
in a new iPhone to activate the iPhone
The above link will help on using without a sim -
Can I use an iPad, iPad mini and iPod touch on the same apple account?
Can I use an iPad, iPad Mini and iPod touch on the same account? Is there a limit to how many devices I can use?
When you turn on your iDevice for the first time just sign in with the same Apple ID and you can download any apps you have purchased in the past! There shouldn't be a limit to how many devices you can use.

My daughter is currently using my Apple ID with her ipod touch. I will be upgrading her to an iPhone 4S and would like to use a different Apple ID and a new computer and still keep all the current music and Apps that she has now. How do I do this?
Make a new Apple ID for her.
Use it on her iPhone 4S for iCloud, iMessage and FaceTime.
Use your ID on her iPhone 4S for iTunes and App Stores.
Sign in with your Apple ID on iTunes Store (on iTunes app of her new computer)
Authorize her new computer with your Apple ID in iTunes (iTunes menu>Store>Authorize this Computer)
Check "Share my Library on my Local Network" in iTunes Preferences in your and her computer
Sign in Home Sharing of her iTunes with your Apple ID.
Copy all the Music she wants from the old computer to the new one. (Must be on the same network)
Copy all the apps she wants from the old computer to the new one. (Must be on the same network)
Export all playlist as xml files from the old computer to the new one.(right click on the playlist to export and "File>Library>Import Playlist to Import)
Sync her iPhone 4S with all content she wants from her new computer (all data from the old computer will be deleted)
Are you sharing Contacts or other data from iCloud?
Be careful or ask for help about moving from iCloud account to another one. -

Can no longer use itunes to put music on ipod touch?
I have an iPhone that I have no issues when using the itunes macch, BUT my iPod Touch I do not want to always have to connect to wi-fi to use music, on a run for instance, when there is n wi-fi available. I want to use iTunes like before wheree I connected it to iTunes and picked which music I wanted synced with the iPod and then the music was on there. Right now all I can do is see an option to download the music t my ipod when connected to a wi-fi network. I am on sattelite internet so I cna not going to use all my download allowance for something I already downloaded and just need to transfer.
Basically what I want to do is transfer whatever I want from Itunes to my iPod touch and then turn on iCloud for the rest that isn't on the iPod, so if I AM in a wi-fi area I can listen if I want, but if i am not in a wi-fi area I astill have some music that is on my iPod itself.
Please help! So annoying!! I love apple, but they need directions for these issues.
LyndsieYes you can use the music, but you cannot use the iTunes program to do it.
So:
Find the music files on your computer.
Make sure the audio format(s) are compatible. MP3 is a definite yes, but the iTunes favorite AAC is a maybe, and you will have to check what your player can handle.
Then, follow your player's instructions to copy the music to the player. For many players this means to just connect it and drag the file icons into it. -
Use the original iPhone as a iPod Touch
I would like tlo use my original iPhone as a iPod Touch but I am unable to activate or unblock the SIM card. I cannot use my iPhone 4 SIM car on the original as it is a different size.
What now?I did borrow the SIM card from a friends old 3G he is using an an iPod Touch. It worked.
Even more interesting is that when I placed the "problem" SIM card in the 3G it merely indicated the SIM was locked but otherwise works as intended - an iPhone without cellular service - an iPod Touch.
No idea why the 1st gen iPhone will not work with its own SIM but its SIM works in a 3G. -
Using Apple IOS Numbers on my iPod Touch 4th gen,
where would I find... ummm... let's say b200??
I use the row numbers and column alphabet all the time, and yet they don't appear on the IOS5 version of Numbers.
This is kinda short-sighted, isn't it? On the desktop version they show up just by clicking on a cell.Yeah, we in the real world call it stupid design.
I discovered a real stupid, stupid, stupid way of seeing the header columns and the row numbers. You need to select a cell, and double tap it and the keypad pops up, at the top of the keypad window is a black wide tool button-bar with "42", "a clock symbol ", a "T" and an "=" The "42" stands for numbers, stars dollar signs, ±, etc. The "Clock symbol" is to put in days, hours, minutes... that sort of thing. The "T" is for words. AND the "=" is for formulas and stuff. HOWever, when you selct the "=" the column header (ABC...etc) and the Row numerators appear! Done so you CAN select certain column and rows to include those certain cells for calculations.
What a crappy design, right? Must be an engineer without any human interface design skills whatsoever who designed THIS Numbers for ios GUI... you have to hunt through crap to find the simplest of spreadsheet information. A real human interface designer would have made it easy option (for aesthetic reasons or "save space" Hah. Save space on a spreadsheet... why do you think they call them SPREADsheets anyway?).
And while we are on the Stupid, Engineer-Minded GUI, whose idea was to make you shake your ios device to "UNDO"? There is plenty of space where the title "Spreedsheets" and 3 toolbar buttons are located at the top of the spreadsheet workspace for a simple ø <--(circle with a line symbol)
This Numbers for IOS needs a big retooling. -
Would like to use iMessages internationally, sending between an iPod touch and and iPhone. Does anyone know if it will work between countries?
The iPhone is not user servicable. You can get an out of warranty replacement from Apple for $149. If you open the phone yourself, you forfeit the ability to do this.

Or using universal dock?
Or this is only for video? The iPod only displays TV out for apps that support TV out. The App description will say if it supports TV out.
