Camera resolution is a function of hardware and cannot be changed.
Camera resolution notwithstanding, the software that you use to operate your iSight controls the resolution for that application, so you may see different image resolutions depending on which apps you use with your iSight. For instance, regardless of whether you use iSight or some other webcam, iChat automatically limits video resolution to a maximum of 640x480. iChat camera resolutions will also automatically be set smaller in low light or with slower internet connections, and, of course, if the hardware resolution of the camera other readers might use is less than 640x480. Some other chat apps set maximum resolution even lower than 640x480.
QuickTime Pro is one Apple app that lets you select camera resolution in its Preferences, but most apps automatically set the image resolution without any control on your part.

While not changing camera resolution, adding light can increase image resolution in some apps.

  • NI 1772 camera exposure time adjustment resolution

What is the exposure time adjustment resolution capability for the NI 1772 camera?  I'm getting only 10ms.  Can I get 5 or even 1ms resolution?

    Hi Rob,
I am unclear what the problem you are seeing is. Vision Builder AI does not appear to impose any restrictions on the granularity of the exposure time. You can put any value with precision down to sub-microsecond levels (no need to go by units of 10 microseconds).
As for the changes in intensity vs exposure time, keep in mind that image sensors and the hardware that reads them don't necessarilly behave linearly and so you may not see such a linear relationship in the data. While you said that you saw no change in intensity from 70us to 80us, were you looking at a single pixel or an average of the entire sensor? If you average it over the whole sensor I think you'll see the difference (although it might be small and less than a single count).

  • Auto Adjust Resolution?

I've completed my web site, everything looks as I want it.  Is there a method to getting flash to auto adjust to the end users screen resolution?  ie: when the site displays on a 800x600 monitor scroll bars appear. I'd like for the site to appear on the page as whole without the scroll bars as it does on my 19 in monitor which is set to 1024x768 resolution.

  • New Sequence at HD, automatically adjust resolution from previous sequence?

I imported video at full 1080 but edited together a sequence created before i adjusted the easy setup settings for full resolution. So it appears that although i imported the video at full 1080, i edited the clips at a smaller resolution. If i create a new sequence with 1080, is there a way i can just pull all the edits of my previous sequence and have them automatically adjust to 1080? thanks!

Copy and paste from one sequence to the other. Than use the remove attributes function to reset the clips in the new sequence back to their original condition.

  • How to stop 8.1 Windows tablet adjusting resolution on other computer

Hi, I'm using the tablet to connect to a computer with dual 24 inch screens, at the moment the tablet adjusts the resolution down to one screen and fits it to the tablet. Is it possible to prevent this happening and instead be able to scroll around the desktop?
I tried mstsc span but that didn't work.

    Hi,
It seems this is not possible as per your desired requirement.

  • X200 resolution problem (software won't adjust resolution to 1280x800

I'm using Windows 7, had it installed on the notebook for about 6 months, and now every time I turn it on, the monitor will only display 1024x768. The software won't give me an option to crank it up to 1280x800 and it is even at 1024x768 in the BIOS and the windows boot screen.
    has anyone had this problem?

Check these out. Don't know if they'll help, since I only use my built-in iMac display:

  • How to adjust resolution for P55t-B5340

Help! I bought this wonderful computer from Costco and have only been using it for a couple of days.
The screen resolution recomendation is 3840 x 2160, it's BEAUTIFUL the big (or small) problem is menu bars like the ones in PhotoShop, and a lot of text in games I play on FB ends up looking like it's about 3 or 4 point type. I would literally need a magnifying glass to read the top menu and left side menu in PhotoShop.  Please tell me there is a setting to correct this?
I'm going to go blind trying to read at this rate.

    Hi @PieterF3rd
Most of our printers have a setting in the Preferences menu to change the date and time, but it appears this one does not. On the front panel of the printer, touch the little wrench in the top tight hand corner to access the settings menu. In the Setup menu select the Preferences menu and check there, if it is not there maybe check the tools menu. From what I can see, the option is not there, but it certainly should be.
If you can't find the option, I would give us a call and express the issue to a phone professional. It is possible that that connecting the printer to a network and enabling the Web Services will automatically update the date and time, but this should be necessary considering not all customers have network access.
If you are in Canada or US call 800 474 6836, or you can Contact HP Worldwide.
    I hope this helps.

  • Adjusting resolution on secondary monitor

Hi, I am trying to use a Samsung SyncMaster 2253NW LCD as a secondary monitor (via VGA). The optimal resolution for that display is 1680x1050 (same as my MacBook Pro) but the max res that I am allowed to select for the 2nd display is 1400x1050. Anything I can do?
    Thanks a lot!!

Thanks a lot for your help! You are probably right since I read somewhere else (at least for other MacBooks), that the max resolution that you can get over the VGA is 1600x1200 which is what I am getting. I have a 15 inch MacBook Pro with the high resolution screen but I don´t think this will change the max resolution that you can get over the VGA. Unfortunately, my monitor only has a VGA input so the solution might be to get another monitor with a DVI connection. Thanks again and any more advice is welcomed!!!

  • Adjust resolution from macbook pro

default is too small to read and most of the display is wasted. Adjusting it only works while cover of pro is open, closing it reverts to micro text default.

1080p by definition is 1920 x 1080 pixels. You can't achieve it unless you have the pixels.
You could achieve it with a capable external monitor.

  • Adjust resolution in parallels

I have parallels on macbook when i go into windows the desk top looks acceptable but when i open internet explorer the web page is huge that you have to scroll back and forth to view. intially the desk top was so small unable to read so when I got that at a acceptable size it seem to distort how you view site with internet explorer. any advice?

(image size is 1024x768 for a page)
    The higher the pixel count, the higher the resolution;
    1024 is low quality
as a comparison, my Canon 5D III creates 5760x3840 images
therefore change the pixel size: 3000x2000 or 2000x1300
test and see what works for you
change the pixel setting in:     Inspector > Document > Document > Slide Size > Custom
When exporting; use TIFF filetype for the best quality export

  • Adjusting Resolution on Blue Eyeball Webcam

    I recently bought this webcam/microphone:
    http://www.bluemic.com/eyeball/
However the frame rate is extremely slow (1-2 FPS) and I have read reviews on the internet suggesting lowering the framerate from the 1280x1024 default to 640x480. This should increase the framerate to 30 fps.
However I don't know any applications that will do this for me. I've tried maccam, but it doesn't support the eyeball webcam (probably because the eyeball webcam works with OS X without maccam). Skype/iChat do not have settings for resolution either.
    Please help, thanks
(Also sorry if this does not belong in iSight, I'm just not sure where to put it).

    Ummm,
    Interesting.
iChat and Photobooth only sample at 640 X 480 pixels ( about 0.3Mp)
Later Internal iSights and other USB UVC (Vista Certified) compliant cameras are capable of higher when plugged into a USB 2.0 port (Not all Mac Keyboards have USB 2.0 ports)
This will allow you to see the difference
    http://macdaddyworld.com/2007/06/28/the-megapixel-test-program-and-more-details/
It will not get iChat or Photo Booth to "see" the enhanced picture.
Generally speaking a slow Frame rate shown during a chat is down to lighting, Processor, Video Card specs and Internet Speed (and possible caps to that in System Preferences > Quicktime > Streaming and iChat).

  • How can I adjust resolution of my photo's in iPhoto?

    Hello,
I can't find where to resize my photo's in iphoto. I want to make my 6MB photo's smaller to post them on the internet.
    Pls help, thanks!!
    Anoek

    File -> Export.
In the Export dialogue you have two options that will effect file size. One: Jpeg Quality, which allows you to choose the level of compression you want applied to the file. Size is about the dimensions of the photo - obviously, smaller dimensions, smaller file.
Complete the export to the desktop and export from there.

  • Match resolutions/aspect ratio of two different cameras

I shot a short video with an iPad 3 and a Sony DCR-DVD-403 NTSC.
The video from the iPad is fuller and wider than the footage I shot with the Sony Cam.
    1. I just need them to be the same size as I edit.  So that I can produce this project with all video the same size.
    2. I would also like to know if I can capture the footage from the miniDVD straight into Premiere Pro without having to use a third party converter to rip and convert.  Is this possible, if so, then I am hoping I get the option to match the video aspect ratio from the discs with the iPad footage.
I can't find the answer to these questions anywhere.
    Many thanks,
    TekyJohn

You have three issues to deal with -
    1) Sony footage is Standard Definition, iPad is HD
    2) Sony is 4:3, iPad is 16:9 widescreen
    3) iPad clips are 30.0 frames per second, while the standard for video is 29.97 frames actually, like the Sony clips are.
If both were widescreen, this would be so much simpler....
Do you need to deliver in HD, or will SD be ok? Because if you blow up the SD to HD, it will look very soft next to the HD video. Better to bring the HD down to SD specs. If they were both 16:9, you'd be all set!
However, you need to decide if you want to crop the iPad footage to 4:3, or make the 4:3 clips into 16:9, either way you lose part of the image. Or you could mix them as is, but you will have either letterboxing or pillarboxing on just ONE of the clips and that will not look good when switching between the two cameras.
So...if you want to deliver as 16:9 SD, you could do this - create a new DV Widescreen sequence and add your clips. To get rid of the black side bars (pillarboxing) on the SD clips, use the Adobe Motion control in Effects panel to Scale the clip up until it fills the screen. You then may also need to adjust the clip up or down within the frame so as to not cut off heads, keep subject framed, using Position settings for X and Y. That is the downside to making 4:3 into 16:9, you lose some of the image. For the iPad clip, right-click and select "Scale to Frame Size" and it will fill the widescreen just fine.
If you want to deliver 4:3 SD, then choose an NTSC DV preset, which will be 4:3 and suitable to the Sony clips. Then bring in the iPad clips and Scale down to fit using Motion effect, keeping in mind the SIDES of the video will be clipped off. Again, you can use the Position settings in Motion to move the frame left or right to keep the subject framed.
As for frame rate issue, I believe that Adobe will handle that for you when putting the 30fps clip into the 29.97 sequence, should be ok but may result in a little weirdness in smoothness of motion, not sure. I don't know if you'll run into audio sync issues between the two though??
    Good luck
