Is it possiable to run image for cisco 3550 PWR-SMI on c3500 XL series switch?

Hi,
as you know cisco 3500 XL switches are L2 switches and there is no ios image which supports L3 functionality compiled for that devices, but what will happen if I'll try to run C3550-IPBASEK9-M image on 3500 XL series switch?
Will it boot up?
Will the SVI functionality be available?
Thank you,
Edik.

The 3550 is a different hardware family so I think you'll find that the 3500XL will likely not boot up with a 3550 image.

  • Cisco Catalyst 3750-X or 3560-X Series Switches

Recently, our company was deciding to buy Cisco switches, but they just tell the requirements and I finally focused on two kinds of switches, Cisco Catalyst
3750-X or 3560-XSeries Switches? Who can tell me, tnx in advance.

     As I read a blog recently, it listed the specific differences between Cisco 3750-X and 3560-X, except for the common features of Cisco 3750-X and 3560-X, Cisco 3750-X can also offer-- Cisco StackPower technology: An innovative feature and industry first for sharing power among stack members;
    Cisco StackWise Plus technology for ease of use and resiliency with 64 Gbps of throughput;

    Hi All,
I am trying to add various devices in the Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.1, but with the followings I get a message: Collection Failure (Inventory Collection Status).
    Cisco Catalyst 2950 24 Switch
Cisco Catalyst 2950G 24 EI DC Switch

    Leo,
I think you are not correct ...
    ( to be truth - I hope it ;- )  )
in PI 2.2 the Cat 3550 is listed under the supported devices whereas the Cat 2950, 2955 are not:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/net_mgmt/prime/infrastructure/2-2/release/notes/cpi_rn.html#pgfId-43885
But the latter are listed as being supported in PI 2.1 (while the Cat 3550 is not...)
    http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/net_mgmt/prime/infrastructure/2-1/supported/devices/pi21-supported-devices-list.xlsx?mdfid=284540974
So hopefully it is just a matter of time to get them ALL on the list of supported devices for the current version of PI 2.2 ...
I just saw that for Prime Network (Management SW for Service Providers) they even have Cat 3500XL on the list of supported devices... (but I do not know for which type of management they do support these devives, e.g. config, alarming, etc)

  • FUS Image version for Cisco 3702 AP

    Dear Team,
What is the minimum version of Field Recovery image in WLC for Cisco 3702 series ..?
I have 6.0.182.0 version.. Is that supported..?
Note: I already upgraded WLC code to 7.6.120.0.

We recommend that you install Release 1.9.0.0 of Cisco Wireless LAN Controller Field Upgrade Software (FUS), which is a special AES package that contains several system-related component upgrades. These include the bootloader, field recovery image, and FPGA/MCU firmware. Installing the FUS image requires special attention because it installs some critical firmware. The FUS image is independent of the runtime image. For more information, see http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/controller/release/notes/fus_rn_OL-31390-01.html .

Use this command for disaster recovery only to recover an image via TFTP.
Monitor variables are used to set up parameters for the transfer.
(Syntax: "VARIABLE_NAME=value" and use "set" to show current variables.)
"ctrl-c" or "break" stops the transfer before flash erase begins.
The following variables are REQUIRED to be set for tftpdnld:
IP_ADDRESS: The IP address for this unit
IP_SUBNET_MASK: The subnet mask for this unit
DEFAULT_GATEWAY: The default gateway for this unit
TFTP_SERVER: The IP address of the server to fetch from
                 TFTP_FILE: The filename to fetch
      The following variables are OPTIONAL:
              TFTP_VERBOSE: Print setting. 0=quiet, 1=progress(default), 2=verbose
TFTP_RETRY_COUNT: Retry count for ARP and TFTP (default=18)
TFTP_TIMEOUT: Overall timeout of operation in seconds (default=7200)
             TFTP_CHECKSUM: Perform checksum test on image, 0=no, 1=yes (default=1)
TFTP_MACADDR: The MAC address for this unit

What I notice in the original post is this error
ARP: address resolution for 10.0.0.2 timed out.
which says that the router is looking for the 10.0.0.2 server but not getting response to its arp request. Can the original poster clarify for us how the device that has the image file is connected to the router that has the problem? Also what kind of device is 10.0.0.2? Is it a PC running TFTP server software or is it something else?

I have uploaded the Image files and also the List.xml file, but when i click on custom images i dont see the image that i uploaded and it say "no selection available". And also after i uploaded the files i have restrated the TFTP services.Have attached the images and List.xml files. Please have a look @ them and let me know if i am missing something here.

First off, as this is a CUCM question, you'd be better of over in the IP Telephoney forum (
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/community/netpro/collaboration-voice-video/ip-telephony )
The thing that jumps out at me is the case of the filename. CUCM Runs on Linux which is case sensitive. Try matching the case.
If that doesn't help, try looking at the phone logs or Wiresharking the phone.

  • Which image for 3650 switch supports bgp

Hi Guys. Anyone know the iOS XE image that supports BGP for the Catalyst 3650 L3 switch? Or how to find that information - I keep getting an "image does not support bgp" error.  Thanks.

    Hi,
If you want to run BGP on 3650 series switches, you need to have IP Services license.
    see table-3 in this link:

All my S versions will only have VLANs configured w/QoS on the PS switches for VoIP. The E versions will be running OSPF, HSRP, VRFs, and QoS for VoIP.
    Thanks, Daniel

    Hi
These are the config models you have in place there in your site.
    Cisco Catalyst 3560-48TS
48 Ethernet 10/100 ports and 4 SFP ports
    Cisco Catalyst 3560-24PS
24 Ethernet 10/100 ports with Power over Ethernet (PoE) and 2 SFP ports
    Cisco Catalyst 3560G-24TS
24 Ethernet 10/100/1000 ports and 4 SFP ports
    Cisco Catalyst 3560G-24PS
24 Ethernet 10/100/1000 ports with PoE and 4 SFP ports
The word followed by the model name either E or S states that it has EMI(enhanced version) or SMI(standard version) loaded on that.

  • How can I use a JPEG file as a background image for my vi in 8.5

Im working on a vi that I plan on using as part of an alarm system.  I would like to use a JPEG file of my house as a background image for the vi, or possibly to just be displayed in a window on the control panel.  I have seen people use their own images before, but never looked at what this involved.
Im trying to use the "read JPEG file" vi and the "draw flattened pixmap" vi to accomplish this.  The vi does run, but nothing shows on the front panel.  If I try to create an indicator from the "new picture" output of the "draw flattened pixmap" vi, I get an empty white window on the front panel.
    Any advice?

I figured this was the problem. And to the OP, I'm glad a bitmap worked, but no I didn't mean use any sort of LabVIEW programming at all. I meant open your image in Microsoft Paint, Press ctrl+A to select the whole thing. Then copy the image to the clipboard. Now select your front panel and press ctrl + v to paste it. No programming needed and the image is there. However, if you want to programmatically change it, you will need a picture control.

I have installed Labview 8.2 and the "update 8.2.1" for Labview RT Standard version from the web.
I am trying to create a bootable image for a target Laptop PC, using a USB jump drive.
When I run NI-MAX and select TOOLS->RT Disk Utilities->Create Desktop PC Utility USB Drive, a popup dialog appears that says:
"This utility will reformat a USB drive with a Labview Real-Time boot USB utility for use with a USB boot-capable Desktop PC. Make sure the USB drive is connected to your computer before you continue.
Do you want to use this utility?"
Clicking on Yes, shows a dialog selection window, with a single entry ="Version 8.2", and an OK and Cancel button.
Selecting the OK button, shows an error popup titled: Measurement & Automation Explorer" with text="Unable to detect USB drives"
The jump drive is 32MB and is visible in WINDOWS Explorer.
WHY will NI-MAX not see or use this jump-drive ?
( I have tried two different jump drives from two different manufacturers)

    Hello,
Does your jump drive conform to the USB Mass Storage Device Class?  What drive letter are you using?  Did you create it by running the command line utility "subst"?
Have you tried doing this on a different computer?  Are the USB ports 1.1 or 2.0?

The interaction between Image Processor and Camera Raw depennds on your Image Processor settings...if you've laready set the image adjustments (or don't need any adjustments) simply be sure you DON'T select Open fist image to apply settings> As long as you don't select this option, IP will run through all of the raw files, process them with the image settings and save as JPEG–you'll want to select the Save as JPEG, set the quality and prolly set to Convert Profile to sRGB. If you want to minimize the final output size (suggested for several reasons) you can select the Resize to Fit option. You don't want to send high rez images to the Copyright Office...1024 x1024 is large enough...you WILL want to fille out the bottom line for Copyright Info.
Yes, Lightroom can be used for this (easily) but so can Bridge/ACR/Image Processor.

  • Disk Utility: after creating the .DMG (compressed image) When "scan image for restore" finishes it displays "unable to scan (internal error)". Since the process was scanning for about 1 hr is this a fake warning?

External 500GB drive is partitioned with 400GB for Mac OS extended (journalling) and 2nd partition formatted today as "ExFAT".
Yesterday I tried to create a disk image of my HD to no avail - this was compressed on a FAT partition. I got a warning after running the <scan image for restore> saying "unable to scan (internal error)"
I rang Apple support who suggested formatting a partition as MAC OS extended (journalling) and choose to save the image as "read/write'. The image process stopped writing at about 200GB and then the file size jumped to 499GB (ie the size of the HD). But the process did nothing for about an hour so I foce quit disk utility (as suggested by apple support)
My current attempt was to format the external drive again; this time with a 400GB Mac OS extended (journal) format; plus a 100GB ExFAT format partition. The new image was created after about 2.5hrs with a compressed size of 149GB. However, after running the "scan image for restore" facility I got the warning message "unable to scan filename " (internal error). The process was scanning the image file according to the progress bar - this took about hour - thus the warning is a puzzle.
If anyone can say more about this error I would really appreciate knowing tips for using disk utility. The screen grab is below.
"unable to scan filename " (internal error)
    thanks

Thanks for a quick reply <baltwo>. You’ve answered that it is not a fake message!
fyi: I thought that I would use my external Buffalo for two purposes; namely the smaller ExFAT partition for copying stuff to my win7 netbook. The larger partition was to be used as my imac image of SL. So this was my first attempt at using disk utility - the idea being to hold an image backup at another location. Plus I now have the Lion thumbdrive ready to upgrade from SL and so being cautious wanted to have a SL image backup
Anyway I followed the apple instructions using my mac 10.6.3 install DVD but it would appear from other discussions that <unable to scan (internal error)> is not unique to me.
I’ll get back to apple telephone support for further advice.
I would though be grateful for an “idiots’ guide to making an image backup of my internal HD that runs SL 10.6.8
eg should I have just one partition on the external USB drive? format it as Mac OS extended? create the image as compressed or read/write? Basically I’ll do whatever will work!!
    thanks again
