Is it possible for my iPad to get a virus

I had a pop-up say I had 4 virus'  is that possible? Or would it have just been a link to get me somewhere else????

It's a well known scam to get you to download junk software or at worst actual malware.
Ignore it.

  • Is it possible for an ipad to get a virus, or be hacked?

My email doesn't load anymore unless I reboot my ipad.  Also, when I went into some accounts to pay bills, I was getting information that wasn't mine, or not getting "continue" buttons and such.  The pages weren't loading correctly.  Things worked fine on my husband's ipad.  Any advise would be welcome.  Maybe have it reset back to factory settings, or wiped?  Who do I see for this?

Only if you jailbreak can you get a virus or malware.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • Is it possible for the ipad to get a virus/malware?

You don't need antivirus as long as you don't Jailbreak your iPad.
Currently there's no known virus affecting iPad.

  • Is it possible for your ipad to get hacked by and outside source?

I went to use my ipad and it was disabled which was strange because i have it on my at all times and no one knows the passcode but me. I did a wipe on it and when i went to reset it, icloud was asking for a different email than mine to restart it. An email i have never seen before or know anyone who has it. I logged onto my laptop to completely restore it but im wondering if someone hacked my ipad...

Doubtful, if you never lost control of it.
Oh, unless you've jailbroken your iPad. Then it happens, and that's on you.

  • Is it possible for an ipad to get a scratch if theres a screen protector on

i already asked this and got about two answers which were hvery helpful but just not answered the question , bascially i unboxed the new ipad 3 and literally straight away apllied the screen prtoector, an the next day which is today there seems to be quite a few scratches, are those scrateches on the screen protector or on the screen? plz help
p.s i treat this thing like it is my heart like gold , i treat it becasuy i spent all my pocket money on it , i have a case and sa screen protector so it surely cannot be a scratcth on the screen right,  i need reassurance is it a scratch on the screen or on the protector plzz answer :'(

sorry to disturb you - but if taken a closer look and the "scratches" seem to be extremely thin and some of them go off onto the white bezel and still refelct light, sir im starting to think its on the screen protector and not on the screen because some of them go off on the white and i can assure you neither the screen or the white bezel has been touched by myself or anyone else - YES I maybe getting somewhere

  • Is It Possible For An iPhone To Get A Virus?

I'm just curious about this, i'm sure many people are too. Is it possible? I personally don't think so since Apple has such tight security. Example: Most, if not all apps (i'm not sure on this) can only be downloaded through the App Store, which Apple has to approve of first. You can't just go to a website and download anything on your phone, eliminating virus risk from web browsing. And email is on your phone, so that wouldn't be easy to hack. Not to mention countless firewalls. So is it possible? I've never heard of it. (this being for non-jailbroken devices which (jailbreaking) may not me discussed)

    No, iPhones/iPads can't get viruses.

  • Is it possible for an iphone to get a virus from the computer?

let's say a computer has a virus and you connected your iphone to that computer. is it possible that the virus will transfer/replicate from the computer to the iphone?

You will get a lot of no answers to this.
With that said, I will say no too, but that doesn't mean it isn't possible. As time has taught everyone, no device (computer, phone, etc) is safe. Currently as designed there isn't any way for one to infect the phone from just plugging in the phone by the nature of how it all works, however, that doesn't mean one day somebody can find some flaw and release one. Just currently there is nothing. You are more likely to get something from just browsing the web on the phone or being on somebody's wifi network and them exploiting some other security flaw.
While all known flaws are patched (if you are up to date) that doesn't mean another one won't be found.

  • Is it possible for an ipad camera  to have a virus?

On my ipad a message opened it said your " ipad camara has 3 virus,If you want to remove this virus you can click below" it also said  if you don't do this your ipad camera photos might be hacked .is it possible for an ipad camera to have a virus please respond and leave tips to remove this virus

This is just a website scam that's going around right now. It cannot infect you in any way.
Some people have reported being directed to the App Store to download a particular camera app. If you are, do not download it. It cannot infect you with anything, but you don't want to reward the scammers by downloading their app. If you downloaded the app and paid money for it, contact Apple to dispute the charge.

can the ipad 2 get a virus?

I'm not aware that there are currently any iOS viruses. There are no anti-virus app for the iPad as far as I know, the closest being VirusBarrier which is designed to stop the potential transfer of viruses/malware back to your computer from PDFs etc when you sync/copy content back to your computer

  • Is it possible for macbook air to get some some viruses?

Is it possible that Macbook air can get viruses from downloaded sites.

I'm unclear on what you mean. If you accidentally downloaded something from a bad site, but dragged the file to the trash rather than opening it, then you're fine. If you opened the file first, then that may mean you have a problem, but that will depend on what the file was and where you downloaded it from.

  • Is it possible for an itouch5 to get hacked?

I was connected to a wifi and then left my Itouch in front of me and left my blog running.  No one touched it during that time. When I looked at it to check the time, my blog was trying to post something by itself and i could not use the assistive touch because it was as if someone else was using the itouch. I pressed the home button and then my apps started opening by themselves and then started shaking as if someone wanted to delete or move these apps. Then my music opened by itself. I clicked on settings and saw that my wifi connection had changed to another connection which was password protected. I immediately turned my touch off. When i opened it again, things were back to normal. But then I don't lnow what happened because people say that it's impossible for an itouch to get hacked. And now I'm scared because I don't know if whoever was responsible for this was able to get information and passwords from my itouch. I'm the only one who uses my itouch.

If it is an old iPod, check my earlier post about the battery. The battery may be at the end of its life.
If it is not the battery it may have been an unexpected quant from outer space: do the reset by holding the Power and Home buttons at the same time for about 15 secs until you see the white apple logo appear, then let it start again (you can do that once in a while even without having problems, it "cleans" everything).
I am sure that a hack as you describe is impossible.
The "hack" that xxmonkeyxxx describes seen on Youtube is probably a break-in in the iOS, after which you can do things that are not allowed in iOS, it "bricks" your iDevice. I am trying to avoid the word because it will terminate this thread...

  • Is it possible for my ipod to harbor a virus?

I understand that it cannot actually get a virus itself, but when I decided to sync the ipod to my PC  and finally update it (still at 4.2 :( ) , an icon appeared onto the taskbar saying dowload complete.  I looked at it, it told me it was itunes but it was not published by apple.  It described the download as a secure browser to go on certain websites or something like that... But anyways is it possible that my ipod transfered a virus to my computer.
I've also heard to factory reset it, but, I can't without plugging it back in.

Okay what you said about the permision part reminded me of accidentally clicking on an ad, and my blue notification screen came up (all notifications are off so it wasnt a message) and said something but since I was already tapping the screen to go somewhere else before the page loaded up, but because of that I hit one of its buttons and it went away without me reading it.  Would it still prevent it from storing things onto my ipod?
Sorry I don't mean to sound stupid I'm just not tech savvy.

  • When I try to download the latest update for my ipad, I get an error message saying that the internet timed out.

When  I try to update my ipad with the latest software, I get an error message saying that the internet timed out.  What can I do?

The update file is around 700 megs so if you're on a slow connection it does time out. You can also look into your anti virus software or firewall, it might be blocking the file. Also if you're trying to download it over 3G it won't work. There's a 20 meg cap on all 3G downloads.

  • Is it possible for Ipod touch to get hacked?

I seriously feel like my Ipod touch was hacked.
When I woke up this morning, it was acting weird. There were a whole bunch of apps open that I had not opened. When I tried to update my apps, it was saying that my Apple ID had been locked for saftey reasons. I reset the password and all that. There were also apps downloaded and webpages saved to my home screen that I did not do. Now I just tried to check my bank account through the app, and it's saying that my account is locked out. I seriously worried now.
Has this happened to anyone else?

It sounds like somebody hacked inot places where account infromation was stored.  I doubt it was the iPod since the iPod does not contain your iTunes account password.
