This irritating 'facility' was introduced in iTunes 11, and has caused endless complains. The easiest workaround is to create a playlist and drag just one episode to it, and play it from there. You can then delete it from the playlist (this will not delete it from the Library).

I have CS4 (I know, I know behind the times) and use Camera Raw 5.0. I've just gotten the 5dmiii and Camera Raw won't read the files.
I tried to download the raw update as per this page:

But I realize this is only for CS5 and it is of course not working for me.
Is there a way to update CS4 to make it work with the 5dmiii? I would like to avoid purchasing cs5 or cs6 right now and stick with cs4.

Is there a preferred Video Camera in the forum for use with FCE?

I am on the hunt for a new HD camcorder in the 800 to 1200 US dollar range. Is there a preferred recording format or anything specific to look for that will help my camera work best with FCE or better yet are there things I should try to avoid?
I am looking for something compact so that I can carry it with me on trips easily, but still give a good quality HD image. Thanks

The main consideration is that AVCHD is a hard drive based format whereas HDV is tape based. The nature of tapes is that they're relatively inexpensive so it's not such a big deal to save your tapes as backups in case you ever need to restore your project from the original footage. For AVCHD on the other hand, you'd need to make a backup by copying the whole file directory to an external drive for safe keeping, and if the drive fails or gets corrupted then you are out of luck.
There are other less important things to keep in mind. AVCHD can reach a maximum resolution of 1920x1080, whereas HDV by comparison reaches its peak at 1440x1080. I've heard some say that AVCHD cameras generally work less well in low lighting conditions, but I personally haven't noticed too much of a difference. Finally, the market seems to generally be moving away from a tape based workflow. Not that AVCHD is exactly the format of the future (and you'll certainly be able to purchase DV tapes for a while to come), but it's something to keep in mind. FCE deals with the two formats differently as well, and it might be wise to skim over both the section in the User Manual about capturing and the one about the "Log and Transfer" process.
As far as bugginess is concerned, I wouldn't say that one format is prone to more problems than the other. As long as you read up on the capture or ingest process before attempting anything you should be fine.
Finally, keep in mind the fact that FCE transcodes both HDV and AVCHD into the Apple Intermediate Codec upon capture or ingest. AIC usually runs at about 41-50GB per hour, so you'll want to make sure that you have a fast external firewire drive to use as a scratch disk when editing to store your media.

Is it possible that the neighborhood internet traffic is too big for the att lines to handle?

We live in a large neighborhood where most of the houses do not have Uverse abilities. Installation of the fiber wires have taken place with the newer houses and the front of the neighborhood, but the rest of us are very frustrated with very slow service that is constantly going down and not strong enough to be able to use on demand services. I am currently paying for Xtreme6, but do not believe I am able to get what I've been paying for. My internet usage is not shown on my account, so I'm not sure how much we are actually using. With the speed test it reported that I have 2.77 Mbps download and 0.21 upload. That was earlier today where as the internet slows down significantly in the evening hours when people are at home using the internet. According to the lady I spoke with today on the phone that unfortunately was not very helpful the lowest DSL service is only $10 cheaper than what I am paying for the top service. I'm just not sure what I need to do in order to only pay for what I'm getting.... Advice please

Are you using wireless? Have you tried a wired connection if possible?
When you ran the speedtest, was that the only thing running on the network (no streaming, background downloads, etc.)?

I haven't asked her any questions on sports yet. I like figure skating in the winter olympics beacause it's so graceful.

Is there some way the ios7 UI can be fixed so that I don't regret upgrading every time I use my phone?

I upgraded to ios7 today not particularly knowing what it was and having not really paid much attention to tech news (I'm in PhD program in history, so current events sometimes escape my notice. I personally find the new user interface with its arbitrarily changed tacky flat design utterly ghastly. I may have disturbed my neighbors with my screaming. The icons no longer match my computer, and heaven forfend some future OSX will will make my computer match them. Generally the whole thing looks much more like some budget cell phone I would get free with my cellular plan. I have owned five apple computers, three ipods, and iPad mini and two iPhones and this is the first time I have ever regretted an upgrade, or seriously considered ending my affiliation with the companies products, as, fairly or unfairly, I feel like the user interface I knew and was accustomed to as been stolen from me out of naught but corporate hubris. Sheer familiarity has been one of the cornerstone of my love for apple products, and while they have changed often over the years, it has previously never seemed so radical, save in original switch to OSX which it seems to me was both a much more gradual process and a more aethetically pleasing change.
I've had an iPhone since 2010, this is the first time I've really been unhappy with it. Can I rid my phone of this accursed ios7? If not how do I revert the UI as much as possible? Can I even just get the old icons back?

In the beginning of the winter beware of Mavericks, it will make an end to your dream.
You can alleviate your fall forward a little bit in the Settings/General/Acessibility, but just a very little bit.

I just have just downloaded Mountain lion and I wanted to listen to music on my computer screen with my HDMI cable plug into my back of my screen and I wanted to talk to dictation on my regular standard iPhone headphone and I was wondering if it's all possible change your settings Mac Mini to set it so you can listen to those both like your headphones and use the mic in your headphones and there's no settings that would change in the Mac Mini so do there is a flaw in this system or I am just really really really really dumb.

You computer is probably perfectly repairable, but if you want a new one anyway, it is perfectly possible to transfer the data from the faulty one.
But it would be a mistake to simply put the old HD in the new computer.
These are the steps:
Remove Hard drive from faulty computer. (very easy on Unibody MBPs, do-able but not so easy on older MBPs)
Put it in a cheap enclosure
Connect it the new computer
Boot up new computer.
If the new computer has never been run before the Setup Assistant will ask if you want to import your apps, data, settings etc from either another mac, another HD connected to the Mac or a Time Machine back up.
Obviously chose the second option (another HD connected to this Mac) and follow prompts.
If the new computer has already been run (so Setup Assistant doesn't run when you boot it up), you will need to use Migration Assistant...or run the installer again so that Setup Assistant runs again.

How to run two vi's at the same time, one uses an AI task with 8 AI channels the other a single AI and AO channel???

Here is my situation. I have one vi that is reading an AI task of 8 channels AI0 --> AI7 (one sample on demand) and also has control of all of the digital outputs on the board. My problem is that I want to run another vi that will use the last AI channel AI8 and an AO channel AO0. These two vi's do not need to know anything about one another but I do need them both to be running at the same time. Currently when I try running the two vi's together both vi's crash and I get an error message stating that the AI8 pin is reserved. AI8 is not part of the task and is not refrenced anywere in the larger vi. I am assuming that this problem is do to the fact that the larger vi is occupying the DAQ board, cycling through the task when the smaller vi is requesting data from AI8 and the DAQ board cannot do two things at once. The sampling rate on the smaller vi is not really that important. Is there anyway I can get the smaller vi to read from AI8 and not crash??? Software and Hardware listed below. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Possible to add and persist elements in server config, for use by cons ext?

I'm considering what will be my obstacles if I try to write a console extension that we would use to view excerpts of an application log file, the application of which is deployed to each server in our domain(s). It doesn't log to the WebLogic server log, it writes it to an external log file (through log4j), and each server (several servers on each box) uses a slightly different path to its log file.
One issue that I'll have is getting the console extension to know what the path to the log file is. I think the best way, over all, is just to have the user enter the path in the form presented by the console extension. My problem is how to persist that setting, because I'd prefer they didn't have to enter that every time they entered the form.
Several years ago, I wrote a console extension for WL 8.1.4 which had a similar issue. I ended up simply writing the setting into a properties file inside the extension WAR. This only works (I believe) if the WAR is deployed exploded. I could do that, but I don't like that idea very much.
What would be nice is if I could "extend" the server config.xml with an additional element in the "Server" element, where I could store this information. Unfortunately, I don't see any support for doing something like that.
Another alternative I'm considering is whether it's possible to extend the "Summary of Log Files" page in "Diagnostics" with an application-specific log file, but I don't see any way to do that.

Well, I appreciate the suggestion, but it's not exactly a secret, to me at least. I've used it for human-readable things recently. It occurred to me that that might be my only option, but I certainly wasn't going to assume that. As it seems like this is likely my only option, I guess I can see some interesting conventions for dealing with this. You have to assume that the field could be written to by other code, and that code would have to make the same assumption. I guess I'd have to define a certain XML element as the root of my structure. If I find it, that region between the start and end element is mine to use and modify. If I don't find it, I'll insert my element at the end of the field value.

I have an IPad2. When I first got it my 9 year old nephew was using it a lot &hi noticed stuff was missing like photos and apps and new stuff had been added.
I wanted to lock up stuff so he could not download and get rid of things I wanted on there. I set my restrictions up so I thought I was safe. I inadvertently locked myself out by forgetting the lock code for my restrictions. It's been 2 years and I need to set up things I am locked out of. Can anyone help me ? You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

Yes, there is a line access fee on top of the data fee, but the OP didn't say they were paying a total of $50 for their plan, but $50 for 2 GB of data which is the data charge for 2 GB of data on the More Everything plan which requires a line access fee for each line on the account.
A 2 GB single line plan is $75 with 2 GB of data, so I simply assumed the OP was speaking of the data portion of a More Everything plan.
Of course I could be wrong.
These data tiers on More Everything are clearly available to anyone looking at the data tiers available on the More Everything page. You simply have to choose the data tier you would like. Yes, Verizon recommends a data tier for the number/type of phones on your account, but you can obviously choose a different amount if you would like.

I am having the same issue with my iPhone 4. I can hear everyone but they can't hear me. Visited Apple Store and they said speakers were out, both bottom mic and top one for speaker phone. Said they were busted. Reloaded all software and didn't work. Got in parking lot and worked for 1 call. Now it's out again. Wanted $150 for new phone, haven't done it yet. don't know what to do.

Two Viewers at the same time

Is it possible to have two Viewers open at the same time, showing the same clip but one with its Video Tab activated and the other with its Control Tab (or another tab) activated?
Often I am adjusting the controls of a video generator (eg. Shapes, Text) and want to see it as I edit it, but I have to change to the Video Tab each time whereupon it appears there and in the Canvas. It would be nice of it was updated immediately in the second viewer window.(I have searched the Help file.) This can be done in, eg., Microsoft Word.

If you have the item in the timeline and are working on the timeline item, simply clicking or tabbing out of the box you're working on will update the canvas. You have to leave the value box so the application knows you've finished with the item.

I am sorry.I mean we have a lot of projects (for example Procurement, Finance, Logistics, etc) and each of them wants to anonymize. But it is existing just one TDMS. Can these projects start with anonymization in the same time or they have to wait till one of projects finished anonymization?

Can you add audio tracks as selectable menu items on a dvd? I shot a wedding where the church had its own set up to record audio. I'm trying to make those songs performed by the artists available for viewers of the dvd to select for listening.?

You will need to create a slide show for each of those songs with a minimum of 1 photo per slideshow and add the song to the slideshow audio bin. Set the audio to Fit to Music.
In your top/main menu add a submenu for the list of songs.
Add a slideshow for each song with the "+" button at the bottom:
Select the link in the menu and rename it for the song used in the slideshow. You can create a slide image for each song with the song name, composer, singer, etc. on the image to be used for the slideshow An image editor or Pages can be used for that and then convert to a jpeg file for use in iDVD.
The song/playlist menu could look like this depending on the theme you choose:
