Is it possible to access music bought on my apple ID that isn't on my iCloud?

I have had an apple ID since I got an iphone three years ago. I have since then created a new one.
I bought a lot of music on my first apple ID but never backed it up - something I whole heartedly regret! I have forgotten the password to this first apple ID, and cannot access the old email account or remember the security question answers. This is all very annoying, and I understand I only have myself to blame for not backing up the music in the first place.
My first question is: Is it at all possible for me to 1] access this old apple ID and 2] re-download all the music I purchased on it?
This brings me onto my next question - is it possible for me to download the music that I have bought on my current apple ID that I bought when I didn't have an iCloud account?
Many Thanks - Abigail

It appears where, exactly? What screen? I'm trying to figure out where you are seeing this name as opposed to your Apple ID. So I need to know exactly what screen you are seeing it on....
Or are you talking about the email being used for the Apple ID itself? If that is what you are referring to, you can EDIT it to a new email address via Manage your Apple ID. However, before you do that, be SURE to sign out of iCloud on all of your device and Mac. If you do not, it will cause issues. You probably want to sign out of Messages, FaceTime, and iTunes & App store on all of the devices and Mac as well.
Then you can go to: Apple - My Apple ID, sign on with the current Apple ID, and then EDIT it to the new email address you want it to be. Note: you cannot change an Apple ID that is using an Apple domain like @me.com, @mac.com, or @iCloud.com. Any other email address being used for the Apple ID can be EDITed to a new valid email address.
Cheers,

  • Can't access music store with my apple id

I've tried from two different machines so I don't think it's related to my machine. When I login to the music store with my apple id I'm presented with a page to create an apple account for the us music store. I click the Agree buttons and nothing happens. Any ideas? I'm using the latest version of iTunes on a brand new XP Pro install with updates.

Try to go here https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/ and change your password and maybe email too, if you have another one. If not, try just with the password.

  • Can't access password reset for old apple ID that is not an email

I have songs on my new computer that can only be authorized by my old apple ID. That apple ID is not an email, just an ID name. When I try to reset it by sending an email reset I have no idea where it is going. I have looked in all my old emails/junk mails/spam mails and nothing. To reset my password using the security questions I can't even get passed the birthdate. I created this ID when I was 10. How can I reset my password when I don't get an email verification because it wasn't even an email. I think it was created under the @mac.com domain, but when it shows up in the computer authorization window when I try to play music it's just the apple ID without a domain.

  • ITunes synced 20 GB of music to somewhere on my phone that isn't the music directory and saved it as "Other." How do I delete it?

I got a new computer so I went to sync my phone and put music back on it.. so i erased everything off that was originally on it so I could sync with the new computer and it wasn't working... so I restored from a backup and updated. Tried again and it worked, I watched as it copied each song. Sync finished, checked the Music app on my phone and it had nothing except for a couple of iTunes freebies that are available to download through the cloud. Went back to iTunes to try again and I realized that instead of having 20 GB of music, it showed that I had 20 GB added to "Other." Now I can't delete the music off of my phone because it didn't save to the phone as music.
After it failed to work, I was in the process of adding music to my library still and it synced to my phone through the same playlist that I specified to sync originally. I officially have 1 song... when i should have 2700 songs. IDK why it worked for that one song and not the others, but I can't manipulate the 20 GB of music - it is now just used storage space on my phone that I can't touch.

All the music plays. Literally took it off of my old hard drive I used to sync from and put it on my new computer. It all works. I don't know why it wouldn't work or why it would sync all f'ed up.

  • HT4914 All of my music in Itunes does not show that it was downloaded to ICloud. How can I make sure everything is on the ICloud?

All of my music does not show it was downloaded to ICloud.  How do I download not only purchased but cd music to the ICloud?

You've subscribed to iTunes Match on your computer's iTunes and uploaded your music to it from your computer, as on the HT4914 page that you posted from ? And you've turned on Match on your phone ? Without Match your own music won't go into the cloud and be avilable for streaming/downloading.

  • Is it possible to restore an iPhone 6 from a backup that isn't the most recent?

    Hi there
I accidentally deleted a thread of text messages which contained important info that i need to retrieve.
I then connected the phone to my iMac so i could try and restore it from a back up to get the messages back, but it automatically backed the phone up (after i had deleted the messages).
I then went into iTunes and chose to restore the phone from a backup (thinking it would give me the option to chose a backup prior to deleting the text messages), but sadly not. It automatically started backing up from the most recent backup which is obviously not going to get my messages back.
Is there a way to chose an older back up so i can retrieve the messages?
    Thanks in advance.
    Will

Go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and see what the date of the most recent backup.
If that b/u has the data that you want to retrieve then restore using that b/u. If you b/u does not have the info then you are out of luck unless the carrier maintains a b/u of messages sent to your phone. I suspect that the carrier would only have the messages sent over their system and not from WiFi.

  • Accessing music via delisted email address?

    Hi
Is it possible to play music bought from Itunes with an old email address? Because the email address was not used it has been delisted, however, if I try to reinstate the address it says it is in use! So music bought with that old yahoo address can't be played. Surely this is crazy and there must be some way round it, but how?
Hoping someone can help, there must be 1000's of us in the same boat.
    Thanks

I was able to resolve this on my own.  Apparently Blackberry's website app scans for what it considers to be valid MX records on the domain of the email address you're trying to send.  We use postini for inbound/outbound and as a result had no MX records that pointed directly to our server.
When I added an additional MX record pointing directly to our server, blackberry's website was then able to add the account.  After the account was added I was then able to remove the MX record and the blackberry continues to function.

  • Cannot access music purchased with an earlier email ID

I cannot access music purchased with an earlier email that is no longer valid.  Do you know how I sync all my e-mail addresses under one ID?

Perhaps iTunes Store Support could help you:
    https://expresslane.apple.com/Issues.action
... but the key to success will very likely be to figure out that password.  Then you would be able to authorize that account in iTunes.

  • Accessing purchases made with 1 Apple ID from multiple Apple IDs

I have been sharing 1 Apple ID to make all purchases and homeshare for the household.  As I now begin to add new IOS devices (IPAD, Iphones, etc.) and the kids want their own IDs for purchases and icloud syncs, is it possible to access music and app purchases made under the original id with the new id(s) so tey dont lose any of their existing stuff?  Put another way, can multiple ids access purchases made under one master id?
    Thanks

I happened to stop at the Apple store yesterday for a separate issue and had a discussion about iCloud. Seems like this is how iCloud works (also, there's another thread on this forum that explains it well).
Each member of the family can have their own iCloud ID, which will be used for Mail, Calendar, Contacts, Apps, Bookmarks, Media, Photos, etc. and having this content synced automatically with a Mac (computer). The iCloud IDs work in tandem with the associated Apple ID — so while you cannot have multiple Apple IDs, you can certainly have multiple iCloud IDs tagged with a certain Apple ID.
While all this makes sense from the iOS device standpoint, I'm unclear on how things will sync with a Mac computer, especially if the family uses a single iMac with multiple login IDs for various members. For instance, I currently have an iMac and iTunes content resides in my Public folder, which my wife can still access when she logs in with her login ID. I'm guessing that I'll be able to set up her iCloud ID using her login, set up my iCloud ID using my login, while both our iMac logins will retain the same Apple ID. This would take care of syncing Photos, Contacts, Calendars, etc.
Another (not sure if unique) problem I face is our Address Book — right now, we have one GIANT address book with different groups set up. Certain groups sync to her iPhone, while others to mine. Some contacts are common between both of us. I'm hoping that if she/I updates a common contact, then the change will be reflected in both our groups of contacts. I hope this makes sense — for instance, I update a contact named Joe, and he's on my group of contacts in my iPhone. Hope iCloud updates the master contact card for Joe on the iMac, which would then automatically trigger the update on my wife's group of contacts—that Joe also belongs to— leading to an update on her iOS device as well.
    Apologies for the lengthy response..

  • Is it possible to transfer music/videos from one itunes account to a separate one?  I need to give my music and videos that I bought a grandchild to her for her ipad.

Is it possible to transfer music/videos from my itunes account to a grandchild (she will need her own account)  I bought her music and videos and let her play with my ipod touch.  Now she has an ipad.

No you cannot transfer purchases from one account to another account. Apple does not allow it and never has allowed it.
She can use you Apple ID on the device and switch between her ID and your ID, but that can cause problems at times and can become a bit of a pain.

  • DRM - possible to transfer track bought on Yahoo Music into Itune?

I just got a mac, love it. i'm trying to transfer music bought on my PC through YahooMusic/Musicmatch. i know it is drm portected, but is there any way to import these into itunes? thanks

No, but if you have access to a Windows machine you can use WMP to burn them to an audio CD. Think how handy it would be to have an audio CD.
For future reference, unless you are married to a single platform, try to avoid DRM-protected tracks. Non-DRM tracks are readily available at online stores such as amazon.com and others.

  • Is it possible to transfer music between iPhones and iPods with out using iTunes

Is it possible to transfer music between iPhones and iPods with out using iTunes

Nope.  Both require iTunes on a computer to sync music from.
Unless the iPod is an iPod Touch and the music was bought from iTunes.  In which case the Touch can simply go to the iTunes App, under Purchased  and download the purchased songs for free.
