Is it possible to activate a new phone in an extended coverage area?

I recently moved to Southeast Alaska, in an extended coverage later. I would like to upgrade my phone when it is allowed, but want to be sure that I will be able program it here. There is no option for me to just pick up and go someplace in order to punch in the *228 code without getting on a plane to Seattle. Does anyone know if there is a way for Verizon to send you your phone so that it is already activated?

I too was living in Alaska (Anchorage) when I was eligible to upgrade via NE2.  You'll have to order your phone online and have it shipped to you, but as soon as you get it you can call customer service via landline or other phone (not the number you are trying to activate) and they will help you activate it over the phone.  It is super easy!

The only "unlimited" plan I can think of where this would not apply is the old Connect plan for multimedia/basic phones.  That unlimited data, on devices such as the LG Voyager, EnvTouch, and other "multimedia" devices is  not the same.
If you currently have an individual $29.99 unlimited data plan with a 3G Smartphone, then you can buy a BBQ10 retail and activate it with the same data plan and keep the unlimited.

  • Do I have to activate my new phone before I can set it up,ie apps, contacts, emails, etc.?

Do I have to activate my new phone before I can set it up,ie apps, contacts, emails, etc.?

Not necessarily. You can remove the SIM card from the phone and set it up via wifi only first and then go the your MyVerizon account online and activate the phone.

how do i activate my new phone ?

If you already have an old phone/ carrier just turn it on.  Verizon works in this way.
With wifi follow the Setup Assistant on-screen.

i need help trying to activate my new phone online where do i go??

Log in to your MyVerizon (verizonwireless.com) and on the Overview page scroll down to I WANT TO... in the third column of boxes, under DEVICE, the 3rd one down is "Activate or Switch Device".  Click on that and follow the instructions.  If there is an issue, it will instruct you to call customer service or you will be connected to customer service automatically.  Let us know if this works...

  • Will you help me activate my new phone?

Will you help me activate my new phone under my correct phone number?

    Michelle you are not understanding.
    1) What phone do you have?
    2) What phone does your daughter have?
    3) Are they basic phones?
    4) Are they Androids?
    5) Are they Apple phones?
Just what devices do you both have? Make and Model numbers, Names of the devices? I am not telling you to call anyone right now!
I said go into a Verizon Wireless Corporate Store. Since you stated you cannot make phone calls.
Borrow a phone and call if necessary. Use a pay phone if there is one available, use a friends or neighbors phone.
We have used these types of communications devices long before cell phones came into use.
If the phones are 4G LTE and both have sim cards in the devices you can swap them out and each phone should work.
I cannot do it for you over the internet with the little to no information you are giving.

Nothing is stored on the sim card on an iPhone.  If you backed up to your computer the backup will contain your calendar events.  Otherwise, if your phone isn't functioning there is no way to back up or extract your calendar at this point.

  • How to activate a new phone to replace a broken one

I have a family plan, with 4 phones on it.
My daughter put hers through the washing machine, its toast!
So, we have a brand new, never-used palm center on hand.
But when I try to activate it, using the page at https://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/activation/activatephone.jsp I pick the line, enter the new MEID and then it just takes me to a page with no other options, nothing happens!

ok, so I eventually find my way to the number 800-922-0204
I call that, walk through the menus.
it tells me turn off the old phone, dial *228-SEND from the new one and walk through the activation
well, the old one is toast, its definitely off, so I follow along
    - dial *228-send
    - enter the phone-line # I want the new phone on
    - enter my billing passwd, replacing letters with digits
    - it gives me a "wait a minute message"
    - then it gives me a "we cannot activate your equipment" message, no reason
    - then it tells me to dial 800-922-0204 for assistance
so, here I am, stuck in an endless loop!

  • How do I activate my new phone?

This may seem like a dumb question but how do I activate the new iphone5 I'm getting delivered on Friday? In the past I've always gotten my phones in the store and they did all the activation work for me. I currently have a Verizon Android phone so how do deactivate one and turn on the other?  Thanks for any help you can give me.

Don't forget to backup your contacts and make sure they are correct. I do not think you can use Back Assistant on iPhone to load them from the site but you can download an app (VZ Contact Transfer) and do it that way.

  • Trying to Activate a New Phone

I bought a prepaid phone I have been trying all day to activate but with no success. All I get is this message that the update can't be completed and to call customer service which I can't since my phone is not activated. Is the phone bad or is this related to some kind of network outage?

Either is possible.  Generally, you need a stronger signal to activate and program your phone than the bare minimum needed for texting or voice calls, can you take your phone to an area with a stronger signal to try again?  Another option would be to call Verizon from another phone and have their support staff walk you through the activation process and see if they can narrow down the cause of your trouble.

  • TS3212 trying to activate my iPhone 4S when I try to download iTunes on my Windows 7 computer I keep getting  message telling me to verify that the package exists or contact the application vendor. All I want to do is activate my new phone. What am I doin

I was excited when my iPhone 4sarrived yesterday. I charged it but today when I tried to download iTunes in order to activate the phone I found that I was unable to download it successfully. I keep getting a message that tells me to Verify that the package exists or contact the application vendor. I have no idea how to do any of this. I was downloading from the AT&T support site.

I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

  • How long do I got to activate my new phone?

I bought my daughter a new iphone 5s for Christmas and I ordered it early because they were back ordered....I got it a lot sooner than expected....now can I still wait until Christmas to activate it or do I have to activate before the deadline(if there is on)?

In the days of old you purchased a new device for your account number, if you did not want it on right away there was a 7-14 day window to activate it on your account. Now having said that in the old days if you activated the device for 24 hours you could go in and remove it and put the old device back on and then simply hold on to it for when you need it.
But that was years ago, best bet is call *611 or 800-922-0204 or visit a Verizon Wireless Corporate Store and ask them.
Be careful because Verizons techs all give different answers so it could be tricky.
    Good Luck
