Is it possible to add a blur filter to a transparent layer without any background?

I want to have a Blur Oval Vignette feathered on the inside on a transparent background to use as a template. So then I could open an image, then open the template on top of the background image and would automatically have a Blur Vignette image without having to create it from scratch each time.

Is it possible to add a firewall Filter or Rule Set to the setting for the Extreme Router (802.11n) like the following:

The concern is NOT that the child can make changes to our hardware/AEBS, or even our network software on my IMAC - nothing's been changed.
BUT, he changed the dns settings on his OWN device (ie chromebook) to google public server, accessed the AE using our home wifi network BUT bypassed our dns settings. Capeesh?

Is it possible to add a Negative filter / Boost / Bury option to a RecordSpotlight ?

We have a requirement in our implementation where in a spotlight should show all records that match some criteria and filter out a few from that which matches another criteria, kind of a Negative filter. This doesnt seem to be possible in the Spotlight Record Selector. Is that something thats do-able without writing a custom cartridge / handler ? I also see that the Boost and Bury options are not available in a Spotlight? What if the business wants to show a query result in the spotlight but for a festive occasion say XMas they want to show some new products on the spotlight even though the spotlight criteria doesnt match ? I somehow think the Spotlight record selector should be a Selected Records + Query results + Boost / Bury as against Selected Records / Query Results.
Please provide your valuable thoughts.

Is It Possible to Add a Fileserver to a DFS Replication Group Without Connectivity to FSMO Roles Holder DC But Connectivity to Site DC???

I apologize in advance for the rambling novella, but I tried to include as many details ahead of time as I could.
I guess like most issues, this one's been evolving for a while, it started out with us trying to add a new member
to a replication group that's on a subnet without connectivity to the FSMO roles holder. I'll try to describe the
layout as best as I can up front.
The AD only has one domain & both the forest & domain are at 2008R2 function level. We've got two sites defined in
Sites & Services, Site A is an off-site datacenter with one associated subnet & Site B with 6 associated subnets, A-F.
The two sites are connected by a WAN link from a cable provider. Subnets E & F at Site B have no connectivity to Site A
across that WAN, only what's available through the front side of the datacenter through the public Internet. The network
engineering group involved refuses to route that WAN traffic to those two subnets & we've got no recourse against that
decision; so I'm trying to find a way to accomplish this without that if possible.
The FSMO roles holder is located at Site A. I know that I can define a Site C, add Subnets E & F to that site, & then
configure an SMTP site link between Sites A & C, but that only handles AD replication, correct? That still wouldn't allow me, for example,
to enumerate DFS namespaces from subnets E & F, or to add a fileserver on either of those subnets as a member to an existing
DFS replication group, right? Also, root scalability is enabled on all the namespace shares.
Is there a way to accomplish both of these things without transferring the FSMO roles from the original DC at Site A to, say,
the bridgehead DC at Site B?
When the infrastructure was originally setup by a former analyst, the topology was much more simple & everything was left
under the Default First Site & no sites/subnets were setup until fairly recently to resolve authentication issues on
Subnets E & F... I bring this up just to say, the FSMO roles holder has held them throughout the build out & addition of
all sorts of systems & I'm honestly not sure what, if anything, the transfer of those roles will break.
I definitely don't claim to be an expert in any of this, I'll be the first to say that I'm a work-in-progress on this AD design stuff,
I'm all for R'ing the FM, but frankly I'm dragging bottom at this point in finding the right FM. I've been digging around
on Google, forums, & TechNet for the past week or so as this has evolved, but no resolution yet.
On VMs & machines on subnets E & F when I go to DFS Management -> Namespace -> Add Namespaces to Display..., none show up
automatically & when I click Show Namespaces, after a few seconds I get "The namespaces on DOMAIN cannot be enumerated. The
specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted". If I run a dfsutil /pktinfo, nothing shows except \sysvol
but I can access the domain-based DFS shares through Windows Explorer with the UNC path \\DOMAIN-FQDN\Share-Name then when
I run a dfsutil /pktinfo it shows all the shares that I've accessed so far.
So either I'm doing something wrong, or, for some random large, multinational company, every sunbet & fileserver one wants
to add to a DFS Namespace has to be able to contact the FSMO roles holder? Or, are those ADs broken down with a child domain
for each Site & a FSMO roles holder for that child domain is located in each site?

A DC in siteB should helpful. I still not see any article mentioned that a DFS client have to connect to PDC every time trying to access a DFS domain based namespace.

So Other DC needs to connect PDC for an updated metadata.

DFS client requests a domain name referral from a domain controller to determine the domains in which the clients can access domain-based namespaces.

A domain controller referral contains the NetBIOS and DNS names of the domain controllers for the list of domains it has cached. A DFS client requests a domain controller referral from a domain controller (in the client’s domain)
to determine which domain controllers can provide a referral for a domain-based namespace.
Domain-based Root Referral Cache
The domain-based root referrals in this memory cache do not store targets in any particular order. The targets are sorted according to the target selection method only when requested from the client. Also, these referrals are based on DFS metadata stored
on the local domain controller, not the PDC emulator master.
Thus it seems to be acceptable to have a disconnect between sites shortly when cache is still working on siteB.

How to add a dynamic filter in query panel

I want to display the data in recent week, is it possible to add a dynamic filter in query panel?
eg. filter--> actionDate >= CurrentDate - 7
BO version: BOX I 3.1

We are still trying to get this filter to work. Can anybody give us an example of how it should look on the sensor?
The sensor filter that we would like to create should exclude any source IP, any source port to specific destination hosts on all destination ports (icmp has none) from capturing events and storing them in the event store on the sensor.
This is the filter that we have so far on the sensor. Whats the problem with it?

Blur Filter On backgroundImage?

I know how to use the <mx:filters with an object within my
application, but how do you apply a blur filter to a application
object like the background image?

You could just put the image as an mx:Image as the first
component and apply the filter to that, since that's all the
background image is I believe. Otherwise it might be possible to
apply the blur to a canvas or some other empty component that was
100% h/w.

Another quick one - possible to create Style without Foreground/Background?

I'm using Styles to change backgrounds and foregrounds in a JTextPane, and I want it to be possible to add a style to a section of text without affecting other attributes of that text, e.g., if a text colour is red and that style is called "Red", I want to be able to change the background to yellow without having to specify a foreground colour in the style called "YellowBackground", so that it can be used on black text or red text and it won't affect the text colour but will make the bakground yellow. Similarly for changing text colour, etc. I'm not sure if I've made myself clear enough, but does anyone know how to only affect the attributes you explicitly change in a Style?

How does the example in the tutorial work?
You can select some text and then click or the "Bold" or "Italic" or "Foreground" or "Background" button. The attribute is added to what already exists, it doesn't replace all the attributes. So check out the source code to see how those Actions work. I believe they just add a new attribute to that piece of text.

Cisco WSA : Is it possible to use web proxy in transparent mode without WCCP router ?

I would like to use Cisco WSA as a web proxy in a transparent way (without any configuration in client's web browsers) but i don't have a WCCP router. So, is it possible ?

Hi Stephane
The only alternative to WCCP is PBR (Policy Based Routing). With a simple configuration on the router you can redirect traffic defined as interesting by access list to WSA. On the WSA you need to configure transparent mode (Security Services -> Web Proxy -> Edit Settings -> Proxy Mode: Transparent). You also need to assure that proxy is listening on the port 80 and that HTTPS proxy is enabled (on port 443) if you want to redirect the HTTPS traffic as well.
Sample configuration for Cisco router
access-list 110 permit tcp any any eq www
route-map proxy-redirect permit 10
match ip address 110
set ip next-hop xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
interface ethernet0/1
ip policy route-map proxy-redirect
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the proxy IP in such case and access-list 110 defines web traffic (HTTP TCP/80) as interesting.
The biggest disadvantage of such solution is lack of failure detection. If the proxy will go down for some reason router will keep redirecting the traffic causing internet access outage.
Routers other than Cisco equipment should also have an option to configure policy based routing.

Indeed, I have multiple webapps, and I'd like to have a common web.xml file that should be directly included in all the webapps including this package ?
Is it possible or not ?
As for JSF, it is possible to add faces-config file by putting it in the META-INF of the package.

Your title and your question are opposites...
A filter must be specified in a web.xml to be used. That doesn't mean the Filter's class HAS to be in your webapp, it just must be accessible to the Servlet container (you could place it in the common/classes directory or shared/classes directory or even the server/classes directory).
I've not tried it, but I see no reason why you couldn't declare the filter and filter-mapping in the server's web.xml which would then filter all requests in all webapps.

How to Add a New Filter Value in BEx WAD to Display All Result

I want to add a new filter value in BEx WAD to display all data records. The scenario is as follows:
The status field can have two values: Active ("A) and Inactive ("I").
But the requirement is to have a third value to display all the data records (Active + Inactive). E.g. the value can be "G". The purpose is to increase the understandability for report users.
Does anyone have an idea?

thanks for your reply. The problem is that there are only 2 values available for this Characteristic: "A" or "I".
The requirement is to have a third value "G" (instead of the default "All Value") due to historical reason, because all future report users have been working with R/3 reports for quite some time and they are accustomed to using "G" for displaying all values.
Is there any possibility to realize this?

There is no need to flatten the file, but you can create a layer that merges all the content of the image, and apply the filter on that layer.
Target the topmost layer, by holding the Option and . (period) keys, then create a merged copy by holding down Command Shift Option E.

I'm in the planning phase for a project and was wondering if it is possible to dynamically blur video using the blur filter? Specifically, I want to:
1) Stream an flv file, and apply the blur to the left and right edges of the video, so that they become clear on mouseover.
2) Blur the whole video, and have only the region closest to the mouse pointer clear, which will follow mouse movements.
3) Feather the blur, from blurred to clear
What sort of additional system resources does the blur filter require? Will it increase the swf file size much?

Thanks for the quick reply kglad. So is there no way to have a gradual blur? Does the area to be blurred have to have crisp edges like http://imm.sheridanc.on.ca/imm2006/alducent/tutorial/blur.html ? I really need to have the region that follows the cursor to be in focus (showing the flv behind), and then have it gradually blur more and more the further away from the cursor.

I have an extrator in R/3 that´s a table view, so i want that this filter from 2 differents fields when this has the same value.
For example:
filter when FIELD1 = ZZ or when FIELD2 = ZZ .
..different fields, but the same type of data and value!
is it possible?
When i trying to activate the view, then show me an error that this is impossible to do.

Only be able to 'OR' connects for the same fields.
You are trying to connect with 'OR' select conditions from differents fields.

CS 5.5 plug-ins - sans Lens Blur Filter

hello the BASIC Lens Blur filter from AE 5 is NOT showing up in AE 5.5 - and yes its in the correct folder in AE 5.5 but its not a choice in the effects menu
any solution suggestion?

Lens blur is not included in 5.5 as a selectable option.
However, you can add lens blur to a layer in CS5, then open or import the project in CS5.5. The filter will show up and you can copy and paste it to another layer. It's kind of a wonky workaround, but it will work.
I'd love to see a project where the new filter won't do what the old one did. Blur map is the new Depth Map. If you have an example, even WO footage I'd love to take a look at it.

Is it possible to add more criteria when configuring smart collections?

Looking to build a smart collection with the following criteria:
Average number of colours greater than 1000 (to filter out B/W & grayscale images)
Minimum # pixels in image (to filter out small images)
Aspect ratio is within 20% of 16:9 (to filter out images that won't look good on HD dispaly)
Less than 35% similar to any other image (to filter out duplicates)
Possible?

It's possible to add more criteria by clicking the plus symbol to the right but not to the extent of the complexity you require. The nearest you could get (click image below) would perhaps provide a starting point but you would need some manual intervention, at least for duplicates.
