Is it possible to add motion keyframes to Position, Scale, Rotation, simultaneously?

In other words, if I want to add keyframes to all those parameters with one keystroke, rather than hit the keyframe button on each of the parameters individually, is there a method of doing that? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Actually, there is a way, but it may not be what you want.
Select your first clip, and click the stopwatch for each parameter you want to use. Lasso all the keyframes. Select the next clip you want to apply the keyframes to, click on the Motion header in Effects Controls, and paste.
This will keep working as long as you don't copy something else into the Clipboard.

Performance issues with Motion (position, scale, rotate) and GTX 590

I'm experiencing performance issues with my Premiere Pro CC when I scale, position or rotate a clip in the program monitor.
I have no performance issues with playback! It's only, when i move something with the mouse or by changing the x,y-values of Position in the Motion-Dialog in video effects.
Premiere then lags terribly and updates the program monitor only about once per second - this makes it very difficult and cumbersome to work and position things.
On a second Premiere installation on my laptop, performance is fine and fluid - allthough it doesn't have GPU support and is a much slower computer.
I'm pretty sure this has somehow to do with my graphic card, which is a Nvidia GTX 590.
I was told by the support, that it is actually a dual graphic card, which is not supported/liked by Premiere.
The thing is, until the latest Premiere update, I did not have performance issues at all with this card.
I also read on the forum that others with the GTX 590 did not experience any problems with it
So where does this come from?
There is no change in performance whether or not I activate Mercury Playback Engine GPU acceleration.
I also tried deactivating one of the 2 gpus, but there also was no change.
Does anyone else know this problem and has anyone a solution?

I am suffering from the same phenomenon since I updated just before christmas, I think.
I am hardly able to do scaling, rotating and translating in the program monitor itslef - whil motion has been highlighted in teh effect controls.
In the effect controls I can scale, rotate etc however.
Also I have noticed there is a yellow box with handles in teh program monitor. I remember it was white before.
I cannot figure out what to change in my preferences. What has happened?

Is It Possible to Add Motion to an Image?

I have an image I'd like to include in a presentation, but it's taller than the height of the slide. Is it possible for Keynote to pan down the image?
The "Move In" transition doesn't work, because I want the image to fill the screen immediately after advancing from the previous slide. Essentially, the slide would open with the top of the image showing and pan down it until it reached the bottom. At no point would the background be visible.

Although limited, there is a technique to do this for images of a certain aspect ratio, using two slides and the Push transition. On the first slide, position the top of the image, and on the second, position the image so that the top of the slide matches the bottom of the first slide. Now put a Push transition, Bottom to Top, on the first slide. When this arrangement is run, the top of the image will appear on the first slide. Then, when the transition is activated, the image will appear to slide up (or pan down).
The limitation of this technique is that it only work perfectly with images that have an aspect ratio equal to two vertically-oriented slides (tall images) -- anything else and you will have to show a background on one or both slides. You will also need to play a bit with the positioning of the second slide image, so that no "seam" shows. This approach may not get you what you want precisely, but if the image is sized appropriately, it may be close.
Your other option would be to put the image into iPhoto, and use the "Ken Burns effect" (which pans) in a slideshow, then output that slideshow as a Quicktime movie, which could then be inserted into Keynote.

Unfortunately, fading out at the end and fading in at the beginning does not create a seamless loop, since there are a few moments when the clip alpha is 0% and everything is completely black.This might be ok for some situations. But for creating a seamless loop, I need to have something, well, more seamless.
Actually, I think I may have come up with a possible workaround to simulate a true seamless loop of an embedded video (at least get closer to it) by placing a still image (which has been converted into a movie clip) of the first frame on a new layer at the last frame, and then copying that keyframe and pasting it about 25 frames before the end, then alpha fading from the first keyframe to the final frame.
It is not perfect, but it's something.
Perhaps someone else might have a better solution?

Final Cut Express 4 motion keyframing

I'm thoughly famaliar with FCP6, but haven't seen Final Cut Express since FCE Version 2.
I've been asked to teach FCE4 to a friend, but haven't seen it yet and am trying to prepare.
Is motion keyframing (scaling, cropping) handled the same way in FCE4 as it is in FCP6
(ie. in the motion tab of the Viewer), or do you have to do it in the timeline overlay area?

Yes, FCE4 handles keyframing the same way as FCP6. You can do it in the motion tab of the viewer or by clicking the keyframe button in the canvas to add a universal keyframe to all motion parameters. You can do the scaling, cropping, etc. in the motion tab or in the canvas if it is in Image+Wireframe mode.

Move FCE Motion Keyframe

is there any easy way to move a motion's keyframe from one spot in the clip to another? say i have a clip and i add a keyframe at the clip's 'in' point and then another at the clip's 'out' point. the result is say a slight zoom and move across the screen.
ok now later on i realize that clip needs to be longer - so the clip gets extended several frames. however - the keyframe that was at the clip's previous ending is now a few frames from the end - resulting in the motion "stopping" at the clip's previous endpoint. my solution now is to open the clip in the viewer and manually add a new keyframe at the end with the same parameters as the 'old' end keyframe and then delete the 'old' keyframe.
is there an easy way just to move that old keyframe from it's position to the new end point? i think it would be easy if it was an opacity keyframe and this was the timline - but i don't think motion keyframes show up in the timeline?

The short answer: no. Basically do it the way you're doing it is the best way.

How to accomplish a motion keyframe move across several clips?

I'm very familiar with how you acheive motion moves within one clip in
the timeline.
However, I can't figure out how to make two of three consequtive clips
make one continous motion move.
For instance, lets say I have three still digital images, 5 second each, in the timeline, one after another. I want the first still to start at 50% size and want a continuous growth to 100% at the end of the third clip. I know how'd I'd do
this within one clip (a motion keyframe of 50% at the head of the clip and a 100% keyframe at the end of the clip.
But how do you make one smooth continuous move across several clips in a row? I realize I could take those three clips, export them out as a quicktime and bring them back in as one clip, but that seems a long way to go everytime you want to do this. And if I nest the three clips, when I go to doubleclick them back to the viewer to add the keyframes, the nest just opens up again into it's own sequence.
So how is this accomplished?
Any feedback would be appreciated.

Motion keyframe effect stretch to new clip duration

Sorry for the lame subject title, but I'm not sure I know how to be more descriptive, or search for previously posted info about this.
I have 98 still images on a timeline to which I want to apply a "zoom in" motion effect, and add a 2 sec dissolve transition between each. Is there a way to apply the "zoom in" effect without the dissolve in between, and then, when I add the dissolve, have the motion effect stretch out to affect the new clip duration? As everyone here will know, the transition adds time on to both ends of the clip with the previously applied motion keyframes staying put. Obviously, the effect I get is a dissolve happens, the clip then zooms up, stops, and then the next dissolve occurs.
Sorry to over-explain something so simple. Just looking for, hopefully, an overlooked shortcut.

But in your method Alex, the transitions are adding frames at the beginnings of clips which means the new clip will dissolve completely in before moving. I'm sure that's not what the OP is looking for.
The easiest method for this is actually a variation on Arsenal's first post.
Apply a transition between the first and second pics in your timeline.
Then keyframe your move on the first pic so you are seeing all the available frames (including the ones used in the transition). If it's a simple zoom move for instance, mark a keyframe at the first frame of the clip, and then on the last frame adjusting the scale to taste.
Apply transitions to all clips in the sequence. If using the same transition this can be done easily by lassoing all clips in the timeline and dragging them into the Canvas, choosing overwrite with transition to apply the default transition to every clip. In FCP 7, this has been made even easier.
Once you have transitions on all your clips, copy the properties of the first pic (CMD+C).
Select all the other clips in the sequence. Hit OPT+C to bring up the Paste Attributes dialog box. choose Basic Motion and make sure that Scale attribute times is selected. Hit OK.
The same move from the first pic will be stretched or shrunk to fit the length of each clip in the sequence and FCP takes the transitional frames into consideration as well.

Is there a shortcut to add a keyframe to every parameter in the motion field
without having to actually hit the circle button/keyframe button ON every
perameter? In otherwords, I'm changing the scale, rotation, ect., on everything in a spot, but I'm trying to avoid having to hit the circle button
on the scale line AND the ROTATION line, ect.
Somebody told me there is a shortcut? Any help would be appreciated.
I couldn't find the answer by searching the board archives, unless I wasn't
asking the questions right or punching in the right keywords.

Is it possible to add markups to a PDF that I am not the author of

Most of the PDFs I generate are from other applications (like Autocad) where I "print to PDF" to create the file.   Most of the PDFs I recevie are generated the same way.   Prior to Acrobat Reader 8, it was simple for me and my collueges to exchange information on these PDFs by using markup tools and resending them with markups.   Since Acrobat 8 has come along, I now find it impossible to markup a drawing (no matter if I have created it using Print to PDF or if someone has sent it to me). I went to the knowledge base and see that the drawing has to be enabled for markup in one of 2 ways
In an open PDF, choose Comments > Enable For Commenting In Adobe Reader, and then save the PDF.
Start the wizard to initiate a shared review or an email-based review and follow the on-screen instructions. When you’re finished, commenting is enabled in the PDF that you specify for the review.
Well, there is no Comments selection in my toolbar.   Second method is given by

Click Review & Comment and choose Attach For Email Review.
If prompted, enter your identity information to create a reviewer profile.
Follow the on-screen instructions to select the PDF, invite reviewers, and send the email invitation.

But there is no Review & Comment button to click.
So, can someone tell me, can I still do a simple markup of any PDF?   Even if I have to jump through hoops can I?    I guess I can understand Why Adobe has done away with this feature in their free tool, as they were not getting any revenue off of it, but it greatly diminishes the usefulness of Acrobat Reader and therefore all PDFs for me.

To enable this right you need Acrobat, not the free Reader.
However, starting from Reader X it is possible to add simple markups to any file, unless it has been specifically disallowed by the creator of the file.

Not sure where it would go on the back, but no the system is closed. There is no place to insert a graphics card or attach it. You will find some hokey stuff on the internet where people say you can plug a video card in the wireless card slot but those are a hoax at worst and at best they do not tell you that such a thing would not even perform as well as what you have and is likely to damage the motherboard.

The USB 3.0 to HDMI adapter referenced above, is only designed to connect to a USB port on you computer and output an HDMI signal to an HDTV or monitor. It will not allow you to connect the HDMI output of a game console to your computer.
It may be possible to purchase all the components necessary to add that functionality to your computer, however the cost would far exceed the price of a new monitor or HDTV. Please purchase an inexpensive HDTV or monitor to use with your PlayStation.
