Is it possible to assign a keyboard shortcut to a Master Slide?

Hello,
I have been looking into an approach for assigning a keyboard shortcut to the application of a master slide ("Bullets" for example). I tried the keyboard shortcut assignment in System Preferences, but that did not work. I did a quick Google search to see if Master slides can get applied via apple script and then maybe assign a keyboard shortcut to execute the apple script, but that was not too fruitful.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Brian

I too have gone through the Premiere Elements 13 keyboard shortcut and cannot find what you seek for the command Applied Effect and a corresponding keyboard shortcut.
http://www.atr935.blogspot.com/2014/10/pe-13-keyboard-shortcuts.html
Until proven other, I do not believe what you seek is possible in Premiere Elements with the Project Assets/Edit area monitor/Applied Effect Tab/Applied Effects Palette.
However, there is a possibility for command = Project Assets and a keyboard shortcut to be assigned. Would that work for you? If so, please see Edit Menu/Keyboard Customization/Application/Window and its Project Assets command awaiting a keyboard shortcut.
Have you considered...
a. dual monitor system
b. shrinking Project Assets
Please review and consider and then we can discuss this further if you want.
Thank you.

  • Is it possible to create a keyboard shortcut for "Export book to PDF"? (Cannot find it in the Keyboard Shortcuts window.)

    I'd like to create a keyboard shortcut for the "Export Book to PDF" command on the Books panel menu, but I simply can't find that command in Keyboard Shortcuts. After not finding it in what seemed the logical place (Keyboard Shortcuts > Product Area: Panel Menus > Book), I've looked through all the Product Areas listed on the dropdown menu -- but it seems I must be missing something.
    What do I need to do / where do I need to look to assign a keyboard shortcut for this command?

    Sorry, I agree that that is missing in action. I don't know of a workaround unless someone has written a script. Scripts can be called with keystrokes.

  • Is it possible to make a keyboard shortcut for a specific color for fonts?

    I'm a novice InDesign user and these forums have been a great resource, so thank you for your time.
    I'm doing a very complicated "text art" project and I'd like to be able to change text colors right from the keyboard.
    In Word, one is able to make a keyboard shortcut (to an unused key combination) that would allow you to change text to white, for example and another combination to change it to black, etc.
    I'd love to be able to do that in InDesign without having to mouse over to the color swatch or over to a paragraph style with the text color set.
    Again, thank you in advance!

    For anyone else who has this problem - I actually found out an easy workaround.
    There's another forum that addresses the NumPad issue for MacBooks (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/324960) and I did a modified version for character styles v. paragraph styles per the final comment by Kaj-Ettore.
    ==
    (1) Open text edit and copy the below script (for me it was changing the text to white):
    try{app.selection[0].applyCharacterStyle
    (app.documents[0].characterStyles.item(1),true)}catch(e){}
    Watch the number '(1)' in brackets on the last line: This is the Style number according to the Styles listed in the 'Character Styles' Panel of InDesign (following "[None]").
    Per my setup, "White" is 1 and "Black" is 2.
    SEE SCREENSHOT:
    Decrement the style you'd like to be applied via this script from the styles listed in the InDesign-applet 'paragraph styles'.
    *Note - This Workaround only works for specific Documents – since InDesign links Styles with document templates.
    (2)  Save the Script to:
    %InDesign_Install_Folder%\Scripts\Scripts Panel\Samples\JavaScript\Style(%nmb%).jsx
    or name the file as you like. You'll have to assign a keyboard-shortcut to this and other files later, so it is wise to choose a common and memorable syntax for naming, e. g. numbers or style-names. (I used Style(White).jsx)
    (3)  Repeat this step for every style you'd like to be applicable via a keyboard shortcut...
    This is my "Black" script:
    try{app.selection[0].applyCharacterStyle
    (app.documents[0].characterStyles.item(2),true)}catch(e){}
    Saved as: Style(Black).jsx
    Assign a Shortcut to the Script
    (1)  Open InDesign > Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts > %YourSetOfShortcuts%
    (2)  Select 'Scripts'
    (3)  Choose the first script you've written, e. g. 'style(body).jsx'
    (4)  Create Shortcuts for Standard- and Text-Environment
    (5)  Repeat for any script you've written
    (6)  Done.
    This worked perfectly for me and I can now use ONE keyboard shortcut (albeit 3 simultaneous keys) to change from black text to white text.

  • Is it possible to create a keyboard shortcut for Add Audio Keyframe?

    I would like to assign a keyboard shortcut to be able to create an audio keyframe at the playhead. There doesn't seem to be an option in the Keyboard shortcuts menu.\
    This feature allows the editor to keyframe audio and mix without having to use the mouse. Also, this feature was available in FCP 7.

    Still dont know how one would set parameters but...
    I would suggest a "better" way to set some audio keyframes is to do a live realtime mix from the audio mixer in Write Mode.
    Then adjust KFs or overwrite them using mouse or MIxer facilties.
    I have never quite understood how one can mix using KFs on a static audio track!
    Its an ear/listening thing..IMHO  ( well thats how the pros do it anyway)

  • How do you assign a keyboard shortcut to an Automator workflow?

    This has to be an incredibly basic question, but my searches haven't turned up anything.
    I created an Automator workflow to "Create new email message".
    I'd like to be able to launch this with a keyboard shortcut.
    In System Preferences, I can see how to assign keyboard shortcuts to menu items, but can't figure how how/if you can do this for automator shortcuts.
    Thanks.

  • Assigning Global Keyboard Shortcut to Display Home Folder

    Hi there,
    I've done some hunting to determine if there is a way to assign a global keyboard shortcut to display a finder window displaying one's home folder contents. I don't see how I can do it using "Keyboard Shortcuts" in system preferences. Does anyone know if there is a way to accomplish this?
    Thanks!

    you can't make a keyboard shortcut like that that will work from any application using keyboard system preferences.
    You can do it with a 3rd party app as follows.
    paste the following into script editor and save it as a script or an application.
    <pre style="
    font-family: Monaco, 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;
    font-size: 10px;
    margin: 0px;
    padding: 5px;
    border: 1px solid #000000;
    width: 720px;
    color: #000000;
    background-color: #ADD8E6;
    overflow: auto;"
    title="this text can be pasted into the Script Editor">
    tell application "Finder"
    make new Finder window
    open home
    activate
    end tell</pre>
    then use a 3rd part application launcher to bind a global shortcut to it. Try Quicksilver, Butler, ikeys or Quickeys for that.

  • Is it possible to have a keyboard shortcut run a script with CS6?

    I see there is an option for it to go to "other scripts" with a keyboard shortcut, but that really doesn't help much. I want it to play a specific script that is already loaded. Thanks in advance!!

    I'm working on something very similar right now.
    Written in AHK.
    so win only sorry Macsters...
    Scans a folder of your scripts and displays them in a panel (see above)
    you can click any one like a button.
    or you can eg. 3 enter.
    Panel can be dragged to where ever you want it.
    Still playing with the finishing touches and will post the finished result once I am done.
    That will be next year some time, as I am finished work for the year.
    Run, % "[Full path to]\Illustrator.exe " Scriptlocation JSName
    this is my AHK line to run the script.
    any reason for the cmd.exe section

  • Assigning alternative keyboard shortcuts to styles

    Hello all,
    I'm reformatting a document and want to be able to assign styles quickly using the keyboard. I was able to assign a function key shortcut to styles (F1 for Normal, for example), but on my Mac all the function keys are pre-assigned to things like brightness, Dashboard, etc. Is there any way to add a modifier key (like option-F1) instead?
    Thanks!

    Hello
    I'm not sure to understand well.
    Are you wanting to change the predefined shortcuts so that brightness would no longer be F1 but option + F1
    or are you wanting to link a style to the shortcut option + F1?
    I don't know it the first one is possible but I assumes that the second one may be done (I allocated such a shortcut to some menu items). I also used ctrl + F1.

  • Assigning a Keyboard Shortcut

    Hello there,
    I've created a form in Flash that will be used on a website.
    Like most forms, one can hit the enter button on their keyboards
    and this will submit the form rather than having to click the
    button. Is this possible to achieve in Flash?
    All the best,
    Kristopher (UK).

    > I've tried finding the Key Class in the ActionScript

    all
    > of it.
    I can appreciate the difficulty/trepidation in encountering
    the AS2
    Language Reference for the first time (or among the first
    many times). The
    real "trick" to it is to understand that properties are
    characteristics,
    methods are things the object can do, and events are things
    the object can
    react to. You're looking for a way to react to a key press
    (namely, the
    Return or Enter key), so in this case, you'll want to look up
    the Events
    summary.
    The Key class features two events, onKeyDown and onKeyUp.
    Let's take
    onKeyDown (which occurs when the person presses the key). The
    Key.onKeyDown
    event entry shows a bit of sample code, but I'll do my best
    to illuminate it
    for you.
    For this, you'll need what's known as a "listener" --
    actually a generic
    object that acts as a liaison for the Key class event.
    Arbitrarily, you may
    call it, say, listener.
    var listener:Object = new Object();
    And there it is.
    Now, we give this object an onKeyDown property (which
    corresponds to the
    Key.onKeyDown event) and assign a function to it.
    listener.onKeyDown = function():Void {
    // do something here
    Finally, we add this listener to the Key class, which will
    now
    communicate with its "liaison."
    Key.addListener(listener);
    Good. Now we're able to listen for key presses -- for *all*
    keypresses.
    Of course, we're only interested in one key. Take a look at
    the Properties
    summary. A number of special keys (mainly the non-alpha and
    non-numeric
    keys) have special properties that refer to them; in fact,
    Key.ENTER is one
    of them.
    Note also an isDown() method in the Methods summary. Good.
    Let's bring
    these together. Going back to that function ...
    listener.onKeyDown = function():Void {
    if (Key.isDown(Key.ENTER)) {
    // do somethere here
    > I simply only want to make a submit button submittable
    by
    > using the enter button on the keyboard.
    Programming simply isn't simple, really. ;) That's just it.
    Things become rote with enough practice, of course, so chin
    up. :)
    Replace the "// do something here" part with a call to the
    same function
    that submits your form.

  • Assigning custom keyboard shortcuts in Bridge CS5?

    As stated in the subject line, can this be done for Bridge the way it can in PS?  I'm getting really tired of right-clicking for particular context menu shortcuts and would love to be able to assign a shortcut.
    Thanks!

    I don't think there is an easy way to add keywords in Bridge.  Perhaps with scripts or 3 party software, but beware of conflicts with other programs.

  • Keyboard shortcut for master selection possible?

    Is it possible to assign a keyboard shortcut to a particular master slide? There are 2-3 masters I switch back and forth between, and it's a real pain to go to the mouse when I need to switch masters. Creating a shortcut doesn't seem to fall into the standard paradigm, because there's no menu item for it. How can I do this?

    Select all the text, and then select the chosen font.
    Alternatively, create two similar styles, one using Arial, the other with Courier.

  • Mighty Mouse: assign keyboard shortcuts

    Is it possible to assign specific keyboard shortcuts to mighty mouse buttons? For example, I would like to click the scroll ball and have it send command-H (to hide the frontmost application), and I would like to click the left/right buttons at the same time to send command-W (to close the frontmost window).
    I have a third party mouse set up to do this (using the third party control panel) on my macbook, but I just got an imac and it doesn't seem that the mighty mouse can do this...
    thanks for your help

    You can assign keystrokes to buttons with software, such as SteerMouse
    <http://plentycom.jp/en/steermouse/index.html>
    but the Mighty Mouse does not support left and right simultaneously. It has a single switch, and uses a proximity sensors to determine if it's a left or right click.

  • Can a keyboard shortcut be applied to a palette button?

    Specifically, I would like to be able to be able to highlight some numbers (like 3/8) and use a keyboard shortcut to turn them into a true fraction.  The button is the fractions button in the Open Type palette.  The shortcut could be CONTROL-f, or something that would not change the highlighted text.

    That's very promising — I wasn't even familiar with Character Styles.

          Assign Character Style
          Left Arrow
          Delete
          Escape
    The reason for this is to clean up a whole number plus a fraction (i.e.    3 3/8 )
    I use a dimensioning plug-in (CADTools) and that's how fractional measurements are noted.  I always clean them up manually, but it takes a lot of keystrokes to do it!
