Is it possible to associate two iTunes accounts with 1 mac?

My wife and I both share an iMac but have seperate user accounts. Each account is linked to different iCloud accounts. My wife recently purchased an album on here iPad and was wanting to download it to our shared mac but was unable to as her account was not associated with the mac and we couldn't associate it as I had only recently reassociated mine.
Any way that both can be associated with the same mac to allow past purchases to be downloaded?
Thanks

Is it possible to get an answer to a question around here? At least respond that, "We don't know and we'll get back to you."

  • Is it possible to associate two iTunes accounts with 1 iMac?

My wife and I both share an iMac but have seperate user accounts. Each account is linked to different iCloud accounts. I recently purchased a few songs on my iPhone and was wanting to download them to our shared iMac but was unable to as my account was not associated with the iMac. We purchased the iMac a couple weeks ago and I didn't have any problems downloading from the iCloud then. Friday my wife associated her account with the iMac and disabled mine. Now iTunes says I have to wait 86 days until I can download my previously purchased items.
Any way that both can be associated with the same mac to allow past purchases to be downloaded?
    Thanks

  • HT204266 I have two itunes accounts with 2 apple ID's.  How do I combine them?

I have two itunes accounts with two Apple ID's how can I combine them?

It's not currently possible to merge accounts, nor to transfer content from one account to another account - content will remain tied to the account that bought/downloaded it.

  • HT1491 I have two itunes accounts with different Apple ID's.  How can I merge them into one?

I ahve two itunes accounts with different Apple ID's.  How can I merge them into one account?

Apple has no provisions for this. You cannot merge multiple Apple ID's into one ID. Content is always tied to the Apple ID that was used to purchase it.

  • I have two Ipods andwant t oset up two Itune accounts with two different libraries

I have two Ipods and want to set up two Itune accounts with two different libraries.  Can this be done?

You can, but switching iTunes libraries and store accounts is generally more hassle than it is worth. You can sync each device with selected purchases and if you have more than one iOS device disable the option to Automatically include new apps, then apps purchased on one device won't automatically load onto the other.

  • First-time user of IPod Shuffle, my husand has an IPod Touch and has hundreds of songs already on his ITunes account. If Is it possible to have two ITunes accounts so his music is not automatically loaded onto my new Shuffle?

Just bought an IPod Shuffle; my husband has an IPod Touch and has hundreds of songs on his ITunes account.  Is it possible to have two different accounts on the same computer to prevent his music from being loaded onto my Shuffle?

When you say "iTunes account," I think you mean iTunes library.  An iTunes "account" is what you use to sign in to the iTunes Store (your Apple ID) and purchase songs (and other media).  The iTunes library is what you have on your computer, with your songs and playlists.  That is what you use for syncing iPods.
You can have a separate iTunes library.  If you create a new user account on your computer (using Windows) and log in to that user account, iTunes will create a new iTunes library for that account.  In fact, Windows will keep ALL of your documents separate, as if you are using a separate computer.  That is probably the best way to keep your songs in a different iTunes library.
You can also create a separate iTunes library in the same Windows user account, if you use this procedure to switch between iTunes libraries
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1589
Also, you can use the same iTunes library, and decide what songs you want put on the shuffle.  iTunes does not automatically put songs on the shuffle, unless you tell it to do so.  This document explains how to load content on shuffles
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1719
NOTE:  If the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is not visible, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.  When connected, your shuffle appears in the sidebar, under DEVICES.
FYI - There is a link to the shuffle user manual on this support web page for the shuffle

  • Two Itunes accounts on my mac

Is it possible to have 2 Itunes accounts on one Macbook?

Yes it is, you will simply need to login and logout of the two accounts if you are making purchases etc. to make sure the purchase is made from the correct account. If you purchase films/TV programmes from iTunes in a particular iTunes account, please be aware that it will be tied with DRM to that particular account.

  • Is it possible to connect two iTunes accounts to one iPad?

We are looking at an enterprise deployment for the iPad 2.  We would like to have a corporate owned iTunes account and also allow individuals to use their personal iTunes account.  Is this possible and if so is there a document that exists on this topic?  Thank you.

You can sync content from up to five iTunes Store accounts to a given iPad, if that's what you mean. An iPad can only be synced to a single iTunes library, though, so all content for each iPad has to be in a single library on a single computer.
If that doesn't cover your question, please post back.
    Regards.

  • Is it possible to combine two iTunes accounts?

I somehow managed to create two separate accounts for iTunes (one for when I was a PC user and then the second when I bought my Mac). Is there a way to combine the two accounts into one?
    Thanks!

None that I know of, and no way for any user to do. You can try contacting iTunes Music Store Customer Service and asking if they can do it, but most likely they will not be able to, in which case you'll have to maintain two accounts if you've purchased through both (not a problem; you can have up to five iTMS accounts on any one system).

  • How can I have two iTunes accounts on one mac?

I have a late model iMac and am running Lion. I have an account for myself with admin privileges. I also have an iTunes account and a music and video library in iTunes. I sync my iPod and iPhone to the iTunes account regularly.
I recently added my spouse as a "Standard" user. She has an iTunes account, an iPhone and an iPad. How do I get her iTunes configured to download her music and apps to sync with her devices without destroying my own music and apps in the process? We keep getting a warning that all my stuff will be deleted without the possibility of reinstatement for 90 days! What is up?

I agree with Chris CA that this is the way I would *expect* iTunes to behave.
When I look at iTunes from my account (my music is in ~/Music/iTunes/ and not available to my spouse's account), I can see in my music library all my rips and my purchases, just as I would expect. I can use Store>View My Account (<myAppleID>) and all is as expected. Home sharing is NOT on.
Doing the same from the other account is not much different, actually. Nothing in the library yet, of course. Store>View My Account (<herAppleID>) also works. I CAN authorize my computer to play her music. I CAN view her iTunes purchases. When I attempt to download the purchases to HER library, though, I get the following dialog box:
Now I interpret this to mean that this computer (mine) will not download from a different AppleID (also mine) for 90 days. Is that [interpretation] correct?

  • Can I have two iTunes accounts on one Mac?

Can I share my Mac with my wife so that we can both sync our iTunes accounts. I do not want us to get music or contacts crossed. Thanks
    RES

Yes.  The easiest way is to create separate user account for each of you and log into iTunes with the appropriate AppleID in that account.  Purchases, contacts, calendars, devices, etc will be kept entirely separate in the two accounts.
There is one caveat.  You can each play your content, purchase content, and sync your devices; however, only one AppleID *per computer* (NOT per account) may re-download content (including auto-download) or subscribe to Match. : That AppleID may only change once every 90 days.  It's a moronic rule that most people are unaware of until they get burned by it.

  • Two itune accounts with two iphones but we want to share each other's music

    Hello,
My husband and I both have Iphones and two separate itunes accounts.  Our PC's are set up on home sharing so the music we download is in our itunes library, however, I can't seem to move anything he's purchased on to my phone.  How can we do this?

Use Home Sharing to copy the music from his iTunes library to yours (unless you've already done so).  Authorize your computer for the Apple ID used to purchase this music (Store>Authorize this Computer) and you should be able to sync the music to your phone.

  • Two iPhones, two iTunes accounts, only one Mac

I am sure hoping there is a simple way to use my iphone, my wife's iphone, our own separate iTunes accounts [and music libraries] on one MAC. How do you set that up and keep it all in synch??? Please help?
    Thanks!

My wife and I have done that, and yes, it gives you two separate music libraries, two separate address books, two separate calendars, etc.
In fact, many (but not all) of our contacts are the same; many (but not all) of our calendar entries are the same; many (but not all) of our iPhone apps are the same, etc. Is there a convenient way to sync some of this stuff, or keep some of it in a shared database?
And it's sort of a pain having to know my wife's App Store password as well as mine, just because sometimes my phone develops the misapprehension that it should be synced with her account rather than mine (or vice versa).
