Is it possible to Authorize to play, but not to purchase?

I have a shared computers in some of the labs and don't mind folks listening to my purchased iTunes music, but don't want random elements to be able to purchase things from iTunes with my account name and password (and stored credit card number!!!). Is it possible to authorize playing, but not purchase? different passwords maybe?

Just log off from your iTMS account after purchasing - that will leave your computer authorized for playing, but for purchases there is the need to enter your ID + PW.

    You need to provide more information. How are you connecting your iPad to the TV. Are you using an Apple TV 2, a component AV cable, a composite AV cable or the digital AV cable?

    Correct. The developers have not enabled it for airplay. Audio is on by default.

    So, it's the same two songs that DO play on the shuffle, before and after the Restore?  That is odd...
    Go to the iTunes Store, and on the Home screen, click on Free on iTunes under QUICK LINKS.  Download a free song.  Remove all of the songs from the shuffle (you can do another Restore or remove them from the shuffle's Music listing), and add only that new iTunes Store download to the shuffle.  Does it play?
    If it plays, add just one of the songs that previous did not play to the shuffle.  Do they both play, or just the first song?

On the new account I can redeem my gift card and download items onto my ipad2.  Is there any way to move my music to the new account?

    Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select

  • Not authorised to play downloads, but not all purchases affected

    I have recently been purchasing songs and albums from itunes from my ipad. most of my purchases sync to my macbook pro and iphone without any issues however a few of them will not play on any other device apart from the one i purchased them on. I can see the track details in my library on my macbook but if i try to play it i get a message that i am not authorised to. If i try to play it on my iphone it just skips to the next track.
    I have tried the signing out and back in thing as well as checking the shared folder exists etc but nothing seems to work. All devices are definitely signed in with the same AppleID
    Any ideas of why this is only happening with a few tracks and not all purchases and how can i rectify this issue.

  • TS1702 When I backed up my ipad because I thought I had a problem with it in which I didnt, I went to restore my ipad and now some of my app that I had purchased are not there, the free version is on my Ipad and Icloud but not the purchased version?

    I thought I had a problem with my Ipad in which I didnt, so I backed up my Ipad and restored it, but now Some of my apps that I have purchased are not available only the free version, not the purchased version. I would have to purchase again and it is not backed up into my Icloud either ?

    I assume that you will have to set up as new since it will not let you restore from the backup. Then after you set it up, you can restore from the iCloud backup. The backup should not disappear be use you are setting this device up as new. Your backup should still be in iCloud.
    However, after you activate the iPd and update the software, you will have to erase the device in order to restore from the Cloud backup, that is the only way to get to the iCloud backup.

    I have a udf created in the invoice sales (header), and a formatted search to retrieve the Federal Tax ID

    The thing is its working fine in the invoice sales document but not purchase invoice when it should be the same, in has the little formatted search icon in sales but not purchase, what might be causing this?

    Hi,
    An FMS will not be available for other form automatically. You need to assign the the same FMS to purchase invoice UDF as well.

  • Lost some but not all purchases

    Hi,
    I tried to find a solution to my problem with the search option but couldn't find a matching answer.
    Due to some serious hardware problems I had to reinstall all my files with the Time Machine Backup (the backup was less than 12 hours old). Well, here is the good news; I was able to recover almost all data files and more than 90% of the music files. The bad news, I lost about 70% of all applications, all podcasts (which doesn't really matter) and all - and this really ticks me off - purchased video files like some complete series of my favorite shows.
    Going back to earlier backups doesn't do anything except swiping more purchased items I di not have purchased before.
    I appreciate any suggestion

    You could try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so.   • Receiving error 5002 when trying to purchase one item but not when purchasing anything else

         So I am able to purchase other things fine but am stuck with one particular item.  I have submitted the itunes help form twice and no response thus far.  I see that some people say that the error is something to do with billing which makes little sense to me as most everything else purchases fine.  I even purchased some things after i first got the 5002 error and have already recieved the bill for it.

  • I purchased an itune.  It has me Authorize and I do and it keeps coming back saying Authorize again.  My other tunes will play but not that one?  Help from anyone would be great.

    I purchased a song from i tune.  I try to play the song but am asked to AUTHORIZE, I do that and it comes up saying to AUTHORIZE again and again.  Have you any ideas out there.  Thanks.
