Is it possible to automatically open a form in Adobe Pro v. Reader?

I, also, am wondering if there is a way to avoid having to close all of my open pdfs every time I want to open Adobe Pro?

This issue has been resolved since upgrading from Adobe Pro 8 to Adobe Acrobat X Pro (v 10.1.6)

I'm not sure that I follow. Are you saying that when you open a PDF file in Acrobat or Reader, that the display resolution changes automatically on your system?
What version of Acrobat/Reader are you using? Do you see this same issue in other files/applications?

I'm encountering the same problem on the two computers below. Email attachments will open in the same manner. Attempts to download or open PDFs on the Internet result in a black page with no content or the warning you've noted above.
Macbook pro 15 running 10.8.4
Mac Mini running 10.8.4
I am able to open PDFs on a Mac pro 17 running 10.7.5. I have used airdrop to move the document to one of the above two computers. This results in the original file becoming corrupted and unable to open and the file moved to the other computer will also state that it is corrupted.
There is clearly something amiss in Adobe and Mac working together. (And it is causing considerable frustration at this point.)
I should add, I have the full Adobe PDF product on the Mac Mini.

I created a PDF file using LiveCycle and I can easily open it with my Adobe Acrobat Pro on my laptop. However, my friends couldn't on their laptop. Is this even possible? Is it because they are using an older version of Adobe?

Are you talking about LiveCycle Designer? Which version, and what did you set the compatibility setting to: http://forms.stefcameron.com/2009/02/11/careful-with-form-compatibility-settings/
It would help a lot to know what version of Reader (or something else?) your friends are using.

I am creating a fillalbe PDF form using Form central with Adobe Pro XI and I am using the new "add help text" feature in it, but when i save the form as PDF the add help text disaapars. I am also unalbe to find a form reset button to add to my form. How can I create a from with these features. The form I want to make it fillable PDf to emailed to customers.

Re: Help Icon - The PDF does not display the "?" like the web form. In the PDF when you mouse over the field and hover for 1-2 seconds the help text is shown in a tooltip.
Re: Form Reset button (Clear Form) - FormsCentral does not provide a clear form button but you can add it in Acrobat. You will want to open the PDF in Acrobat and then follow these two tutorials:

Are you planning save the form as a "Submission Enabled PDF" and collect responses using FormsCentral? Saving a fillable form in Adobe 7.0 Reader

I created a fillable form in LiveCycle, and distributed through the company.
If other people read it with adobe 7.0 reader they are unable to save it with the data still in it what am I missing, I have tried changing the security settings within the document but still no joy !!!!
Can anyone help.

Rebecca - Dave's reply was missing an answer to your question: "Everybody that receives it buys Acrobat 8"? No, those using the forms DO NOT need to have Acrobat Professional 8. Usually one person (such as yourself), has Acrobat 8 and enables the rights on those forms created (there is actually a selection to do this). Once the form is enabled, anyone who simply has Reader can fill in and save a form.

i did an adobe acrobat pro trial. after the trial expired, i was unable to open PDFs. i moved adobe pro to the trash. i trid the adobe cleaner but it couldn't find the adobe pro installation to "clean."
how can i get rid of adobe pro and/or be able to open PDFs?

Hi, one of my client sent his static form with bellow request to me. I'm using adobe pro XI & i want to know using it bellow request i can complete or not. if "YES" pls tell me what i should do. i know how to make fillable forms using his static form but i have no idea about web forms. thanks.

It's alo what mine looks like as well because I've not added anything At first I didn't know and no one would tell me. Then I just go used Tools menu. It far more complex to learn if you go to it Cold Turkey from using Menu bars which are vastly easier. It’s a shock to your system. But you learn to use tools menu evn though it takes far more time. You waste time clicking heading to find sub topics and sometimes items that should be grouped together are spread all over. But, Hey Change is supposed to be good whether we want it or not.

Open print form in adobe reader (not acrobat)

I have a print form scenario where the form is opened from an ABAP web dynpro and should open in adobe reader. However the client has an older version of acrobat installed and the form is opening in this by default.
Is there a way to force it to use reader ? thanks for any advice

Of course you should be able to change this on the OS level. Like File types (or right mouse, open file, last option + check use this for all the documents of this type).
But... I was not able to change this myself. Or maybe was but any time I have used the Acrobat, it changed this setting back to Acrobat. That is clearly because Acrobat feels "something better" than the Reader:))

Can't open interactive form with adobe reader mobile version

Hello,
I have an interactive PDF document which I would like to open with my mobile phone (Android) and the adobe reader. If I open the document an error message appears.
Do we need to adjust the script to enable interactive forms also on mobile devices? The pdf document can be opend on my PC without issues.

Based on your description, I believe that the PDF Form that you are trying to open and fill out is an XFA form. Mobile Reader currently cannot display XFA forms.For these XFA PDF files, you will need to open them on your desktop Adobe Reader to read and fill the form.

Open a PDF with Adobe's PDF Reader

Hi all,
I have a Nokia Lumia 720, and placed a PDF file on to the SD card in a folder called DOCUMENTS.
After downloading Adobe PDF Reader and installing the app, when I open the app, it says NO FILES AVAILABLE.
Where do I need to place the PDF file for it to be found?
Any ideas?

Ray (rayhipkiss) thanks for the advice. And to scoobyman, who had the solution.
After copying the file from my (Win7) PC to the phone (and I tried copying it to the SD card) using the USB cable, it would not show up at all, even in Office.
Scoobyman suggested that I place the file into my SkyDrive folder. That did it, and it does now appear when I open the Adobe PDF Reader, BUT, it still doesn't show up in the phone when I browse the Phone & SD Card.
When I opened the file, it had to download it from SkyDrive first, and then it opened.
Not a very neat way of doing things, but I am getting the hang of this Lumia 720 after 4 weeks now.
Some of it is logical, but other things are not too clear!

Automatic opening of helpdesk tickets in solman from xml files

Hello,
If we imagine that we have two helpdesks systems. One in solman for all the SAP related tickets, and another one for the non sap systems. I know that it is possible to connect solution manager to an external helpdesk tool for all non sap subjetcs. And if I have understood well, this is done via xml files.
But is it possible to automatically open a helpdesk ticket in solman from an external helpdesk tool ? Is it done via xml files ? Is there a documentation on how to setup this ?

      -> Service Desk
         -> Connection to an external system
