Is it possible to batch rotate imagaes in LR5?

I do not rotate my images on camera so when I import them into LR the portrait orientated photos do not display correctly.
I know I can manually select each images and then click to have them all rotate. I'm looking for a way to get round the manual selection process. Is there a way to batch filter/select just portrait or landscape orientated photos? I have tried using the filter metadata filter "aspect ratio". That only gives me the option of landscape photos - I guess because the camera has not included the metadata for portrait because I am not doing in camera rotation.
Is batch selection of orientation available?
Thanks
Stephen

Most cameras record the orientation in the image's metadata. LR will automatically read that orientation when the image is imported, and it will display the image appropriately.  It sounds like your camera is not recording the orientation in the image, and if that's the case, there's no way for LR to know what the correct orientation should be in order to rotate the image.
What camera? Have you set a camera option to not record the orientation?  If so, why?

  • Parking not possible during batch input

    Hello,
    Iu2019m facing a problem for creating a parked vendor invoice in background (Tcode FB60 / FV60) thru BDC or BAPI.
    I looked for a BAPI and I just found "BAPI_ACC_INVOICE_RECEIPT_POST", for posting FI invoice : it doesnu2019t correspond to our requirements (we need to park).
    Then I used "PRELIMINARY_POSTING_DOC_WRITE" for parking an invoice but when we see the parked invoice in FBV2, the displayed Tcode is like FBV1. The users want the vendor invoice header, I mean the same screen as FB60.
    Finally, I tried to use Batch Input to park but I got the following message :
    "Parking not possible during batch input"
    Message no. FP140
    Procedure
    In Customizing, you can control whether an error message is issued."
    I found nothing in IMG about control message
    And in sdn forums, some said that bdc doesnu2019t work for an enjoy transaction (MIRO, MIR7, FB60 ..) but we already created a BDC for MIR7 and it works.
    Thanks,

    You can use [CALL TRANSACTION|http://help.sap.com/abapdocu_70/en/ABAPCALL_TRANSACTION.htm] like BDC.
    via CALL TRANSACTION you may use [bdc options with NOBINPT |http://help.sap.com/abapdocu_70/en/ABAPCALL_TRANSACTION_BDC_OPTIONS.htm] so the systeme field sy-binpt will be initial.
    You will need to manage the error messages in your program.(no SM35) one solution is to build the BDC for records with errors.
    There are many threads on [difference Between Batch Input and Call Transaction in BDC|https://forums.sdn.sap.com/search.jspa?threadID=&q=differenceBatchInputCallTransaction&objID=c42&dateRange=all&numResults=15&rankBy=10001]

  • Need Help with Problem Batch Rotating Images in iPhoto 8!

    Hello, recently I have been having a lot of problems with pic files becoming unusable once I batch rotate them in iPhoto 8, so now I want to rotate the pictures 180º before I import them into iPhoto. Is there a free program out there that can help me do this without losing any picture quality. I REALLY don't want to have to individually open up over 2000 photos in Preview and individually rotate them that way.
    Does this same batch rotating problem occur in Aperture 1.5.6?
    TIA for ANY and ALL help!!!

    You can create an Automator workflow application to batch rotate a folder of photos 180 degrees. You need to download and install GraphicConverter first. You can use it in the demo mode by first opening it before you drop your folder of photos onto the application .
    When you install GC select the option to install the GC Automator workflows. Open Automator and put in the following elements: 1 - Get Finder Items; 2 - Rotate. You can select to use Quicktime or the internal algorithm. Save it as an application.
    This all must be done outside of iPhoto and then import into iPhoto.
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier versions) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. There are versions that are compatible with iPhoto 5, 6, 7 and 8 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
    NOTE: The new rebuild option in iPhoto 09 (v. 8.0.2), Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" makes this tip obsolete.

  • FV50 - Parking not possible during batch input

    Dear SDN,
    our client has a custom program for GL Document batch input through TCode FV50.
    Though the answer should not be, the question here is very straightforward: why, in this program, the mentioned error occurs for some users, but not for others, giving ALL the input parameters are the same???
    1 - Batch input runs
    2 - FV50 is displayed
    3 - (Menu) Document -> Park
    4 - Error: FP140 - Msg: "Parking not possible during batch input"
    Note: User who gets the error has ALL the authorizations that users who don't get the error have.
    Any suggestion is highly appreciated.

    Some time ago I was looking for a way to find out a pdf’s page-count and this was one of the solutions I was presented with (Bridge might offer a better sollution, though):
    #target photoshop
    thePageNumber = getPDFPageCount ( File.openDialog("select pdf"))
    alert (thePageNumber);
    // by jezz, based on something by xbytor i guess;
    function getPDFPageCount(f) {
    f.open ('r');
    var gotCount = false;
    while (! gotCount) {
    next_line = f.readln();
    if ( f.eof ) {alert("Aborting the script\nWe've got to the end of the file without finding a page count");
         f.close();
         exit();
         if (next_line.indexOf ("/N ") > 0 && next_line.slice(0, 9) != "<</Length" && next_line.slice(0, 9) != "[/Separat") {
         var p = next_line.match (/\/N (\d+)\/T/)[1];
         gotCount = true;
         else if (next_line.indexOf ("/Pages") > 0 ) {
    //      alert (next_line);
         var p = parseInt(next_line.substring(next_line.indexOf("/Pages") +6), 10)
         gotCount = true;
    f.close ();
    return Number(p);
    I suppose this approach could be modified to address some of the features you are looking for.
    But the issue might be a fairly complicated one, as a pdf may for example combine many different TrimBox-sizes.
    Have you asked over in the Bridge Scripting Forum, too?

  • Possible to batch share multiple clips?

    In Pro or Elements, is it possible to create clips and then export them in a batch?
    We've been using Final Cut Pro X, but it no longer does that (at least not in a way that is efficient for us). We've been capture video from a Canopus FW converter to .DV format, than handing those off to Compressor for QuickTime Streaming (we will be migrating to some new format, but that's what we're using now). Any recommendations for project format (NTSC DV?), and then an output format of high quality we can then batch in Compressor? thanks

    Thanks, I'll have to look into that to see if it encodings hinted QuickTime movies for streaming. One of the challenges is having to buy yet anohter encoder, when we have one already. The other is possibly a limited set of export formats, but I won't know until I look into it.

  • Is it possible to batch bounce audio files from markers?

    Archiving old DAT tapes, I'm wondering if it's possible to create and even name markers on the fly and later "batch bounce" the whole tape offline to audio files bearing the same name as the markers.
    I'm aware that you can split regions & batch bounce them but AFAIK you can't split a region on the fly...
    I'm using Logic 9 yet but if what I'm asking is only possible in X I'm ready to take the plunge, it would be a big time saver

  • Where is it possible to batch process the size of images?--I am able to change pixel dimensions in image processor but not image size in inches.

    Hi- I need to batch process images for video project.  I am able to change the pixel dimensions in the image processor but don't seem to have the option to change image size in inches.  Please advise!  Thanks

    You don't need inches for video (or screen viewing in general). It all goes by pixel count. Inches is for print, nothing else.
    But to answer the question, you can run actions in the Image Processor, and this is where you set size in inches. Just bring up Image Size, uncheck "resample image", and specify size. You'll notice resolution changes to reflect the fact that the existing image pixels are now redistributed over the new print size.
    But again, screen doesn't care about size or resolution. It only counts pixels.

  • Is it possible to batch print .pdf AND .doc files together?

    I need to let users to batch print a set of files that includes both .PDFs and .DOCs. Since <cfprint> allows .PDF files only, what would you suggest?
    Thanks!

    el_sim wrote:
    Unfortunately, it's not an option because I need to allow users to batch print and I have no info about their network printer configuration
    That raises a large RED Flag that you may be misunderstanding the <cfprint...> functionality.  <cfprint...> can NOT print to a printer that is configured to the clients computer.  So if that is what you are looking to do, you need to be looking at Client side technology.  But be aware, that current, common, browser based web applications generally have very limited connections to client hardware.  If you are willing to get into Flex, Flash, Air (or another company's technologies) you could probably do more.  But HTML and JavaScript currently do not have much access to the hardware of a client computer.
    The <cfprint...> tag is designed to send a print job from the SERVER running the ColdFusion application to a printer connected to that server.  IF you are writing programs with no knowledge of the server network configurations (I.E. an application meant to be sold to various customers) this becomes much more difficult to do.  But if you are writing a CFML application to be run on a known network, which is what many of us do, then it should be pretty easy to know what printers are connected to the server running ColdFusion and figure out what capabilities those printers have.

  • Possible bug: Stage rotates during startup sequence

    Hi,
    I'm almost ready to submit an iPad app to Apple but have an issue with the stage rotating during startup. My app is configured to use landscape mode, fullscreen turned on, auto-orient turned off, selected device iPad.
    When yo launch the app it shows the default png correctly in landscape mode, then rotates it briefly to portrait before snapping back to lanscape again when the app has fully launched.
    I tried a suggested workaround using
    stage.align = StageAlign.TOP_LEFT;
    stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.EXACT_FIT;
    That didn't seem to make any difference. I also tried
    stage.addEventListener( StageOrientationEvent.ORIENTATION_CHANGING, onOrientationChanging );
    public function onOrientationChanging( event:StageOrientationEvent ):void { event.preventDefault(); }
    but again this made no difference.
    Any help appreciated. This problem is preventing me from submitting to Apple as I do not believe they would let this pass.
    An earlier app of mine for iPhone which was packaged using an earlier (a very early, as in before year's MAX early) version of the packager did not exhibit this behaviour.
    Stefan

    thanks again. The initial issue is now resolved by using the addtional Default images. For some reason I've never seen this mentioned before, maybe it's because the Adobe docs mainly focus on iPhone.
    I've still got one remaining issue which the user in another post also witnessed and that is one where the stage briefly seems to resize to a samller size, then flicking back to normal size. This happens at the exact same time where previously the rotation has shown up. It's not a huge issue but annoying nevertheless. I'm also concerned that Apple will pinpoint issues like this upon submission.
    Any advise?

  • CS3 to CS5 Conversion - Is it possible to batch convert?

    Hi, the company I'm working for is doing the move to CS5 from CS3 Indesign.
    When resaving the old CS3 documents in CS5, instead of just saving over the current file, it's bringing up a 'save as' type of dialog.
    As we have literally thousands of documents to rework and they are mostly in different locations, I was wondering if anyone knew of a way we can speed this process up. Is there a setting that will bypass 'save as' in this situation? Maybe a good batch converter we could try?
    Help would be much appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Emile.

    It's probably scriptable (and I think maybe Peter Kahrel has actually already written a script to do it), but the last thing you want to do is bypass the save as and overwrite the CS3 versions. There are occasional problems with converted files, and if you've destroyed your CS3 versions you'll have no backup position.
    In fact, I strongly recommend that you do any of these conversions in two steps. First convert to .inx, then convert those to CS5 for the most trouble-free files after conversion. Personally, I would not convert any files until necessary, but I don't know your workflow. For minor edits you are probably just as well off to leave old files in CS3 and do new projects in CS5 going forward.
