Is it possible to burn a video podcast?

When I try to burn some Podcast, all I get is sound. I'm a recent convert from windows, but with a lot of computer experience in general. Bought my iMac in Jan of 07. Am I doing something wrong? Am I missing something, or can it be done at all?
Thanks,
Bill

You can set iTunes -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Burning to 'Data CD'. This will burn the selected files as computer files to a CD or DVD. It will not create a DVD that can play in a home entertainment DVD (movie) player.
You can use iDVD for a movie style DVD if the source video is not protected by DRM.

  • Can I burn free video podcasts to DVD?

I'm trying to burn free video yoga podcasts to a DVD so I can play it in my DVD player. Can I do this?
I'm testing it out now, but it's taking hours to "Process Movies," encoding first the video and then the audio. I'm only working with about an hour's worth of video, but it's taking so long to convert the MPEG4 or whatever they are to whatever iDVD uses. I can't do yoga in my computer room, but want to use the DVD in my studio where I have lots of space.
    Thanks,
    Paul

podcasts aren't in a form that can be used by iDVD without conversion. You might have much better luck using something like Roxio's Toast Titanium.

  • Possible to burn DVDs of videos purchased from iTunes

Is it possible to burn a DVD of the music videos i purchased with iTunes.
I can't stream the audio portion to my airport express, and i want to listen to this version of "City of Blinding Lights" through my nice stereo, not my computer.
Any thoughts shy of running an audio cable from my sound card through a few walls? =)
    thanks,
    chris

Just to verify I've selected all songs and made sure they shared the same information and I've selected "Get Info" and numbered the tracks in order, so yes, I've done the obvioous stuff.

  • Post to YouTube to video podcast: is it possible?

    Hi,
I'd like to know if there's a way to post a video to YouTube, then make it as a video podcast in the iTunes podcast directory?
That would be a simple way of posting a podcast, without wandering about the hosting server.
    Thanks

  • What am I doing wrong, I am trying to burn a video that I downloaded form I tunes

I have a Compaq Presario desktop no CQ3240AN and am trying to burn a video that I purchased from ITunes, I keep on being asked to load a disc, which I have many times. The disc I am using is Kodak DVD-RW,. My computer doesn't seem to recogonise the disc. It is more thann likely I have missed a step, but I don't know which one.
The video is on the computer but I want to play it on my TV.
I have never done this before and could really use some help.
    Marg

    HI Marge,
It's possible that the optical drive is not compatible with the optical media that you are using. Look closely at the DVD media disk.  Do you see DL? If you are using DVD-RW DL media then the optical media is not compatible with the optical drive in your PC.
    Try DVD+R optical media.
If you do have the correct media then review the tips in this posted article.
If you are using DVD-RW (single density) media and it is "closed" then you have to reformat the disk before attempting a burn.  Make sure that it is closed by the burning program. The optical media being used must be compatabile with the optical player attached to your TV.

  • Need an option to filter video podcasts out in the regular podcasts menu

The problem is that when you have a lot of podcasts, both video and audio, it is easy to focus in on only the video podcasts but when you are viewing the regular podcasts menu it shows both video and audio only podcasts. I find that I am spending a lot of time trying to remember which ones are audio only when scrolling through my list because I don' t want to listen to only the audio of a video podcast and have it marked as listened to already. Some video and audio version have similar names but different content, such as the NYTimes David Pogue tech reviewer has both an audio and a video podcast and they ARE different content. I'm sure that I am not the only one who has wished there was a way to separate the audio only podcasts from the video ones in the podcast menu.
My proposal...that as many people as possible submit a feature request to Apple to add an option in the iPod settings menu to show only audio podcasts in the podcasts menu. Yes, smart playlists could be set up (and I tried it for a while) but then you loose the blue dot that reminds me of which episode I am on so I wasn't happy with that approach. Both CM and P6 needs to be configured using there respective admin utility to interact. Most important part is generation of Encryption key. It should be same for both. Once that is done, restart CM server and P6 server and you should see the link enabled :)

  • Video Podcast no longer plays audio

Within the last week, (Possibly the last update), I can no longer get audio to work on Video Podcasts.  No audio in iTunes or on iPhone for Video Podcasts.  However, Audio Podcasts play just fine and no other issues with Movies, etc.

  • I just downloaded some video podcasts, but when I try to Sync them, a window pops up and says: "(name of podcast) was not copied to (name of ipod) because it cannot be played on this ipod."

Anyone know what the problem is?

    The Problem:
This could be due to a variety of situations.
    1) The podcast video file is not in a format supported by your iPod Nano, the iPod Nano 5th Generation supports video formats .m4v .mp4 or .mov in a resolution of 640 by 480 pixels.
    2) There isn't enough space on your iPod, check the size of the video compared to the space available on your iPod.
    3) The third possible problem is that the podcast provider may not have properly uploaded the video file.
    4) The video may not have been downloaded properly in iTunes.
    Possible Solutions:
    1) Update to the latest version of iTunes and check that the software on your iPod is up to date
    2) Try to re-download the podcast from iTunes
    3) go to the podcast provider website and see if they have a direct link to download the file.
Hope this helps solves your problem.

  • Video podcasts have jerky playback on my iPod nano 4G

I've been enjoying Good Game video podcasts on my 4G iPod nano for several months:
    http://www.abc.net.au/tv/goodgame/
About a month ago, the videos started stuttering badly every few seconds.
I asked ABC TV is they changed something about how they encode the videos, and they say they haven't.
Is it possible that one of the iTunes updates has changed video playback so my iPod nano can no longer cope with decoding the video stream?
Does anyone know if there is a fix for this problem?
    Cheers,
    m.

Have you reconnected your iPod since listening to the podcasts in question? If not, then you need to do that so that the iPod can update. The podcasts won't delete from the iPod itself after you listen to them until it is updated. (Someone correct me if I am wrong)

  • Video Podcasts won't sync to iTouch with iTunes 9.0.1.8

There's obviously a bug in iTunes where some video podcasts (ESPN Mike & Mike, ESPN PTI Big Finish for example) do not sync. I get an error saying they are not copied to the iTouch because they cannot be played on this iPod - which is most likely not true. What's going on? Anyone know of a fix or having similar issues?

That's not a bug in iTunes. The message tells you what the problem is - those videos cannot be played on the iPod. That's because they are not in the correct format. My iTunes message actually said the "format was not supported".
There are two options: try converting the video for iPod use. Highlight the video, one at a time, and click on *Advanced/Create iPod or iPhone version.* Each conversion takes quite a while.
The other option (possibly the better one) is to email the Podcast producers to let them know that their video Podcats cannot be played on an iPod. They may not know! I had a look on the PTI website and they seem keen to provide Podacst Feeds for iTunes. This is not quite the same as providing for an iPod.
Podcast producers have been known to issue videos that play in iTunes (via Quicktime), but not on iPods. So if you do email them, let them know where you got the Feed (that is, how you subscribed/downloaded - via iTunes or via their website and iTunes) and detail exactly what doesn't happen.
I've just tried downloading episodes from each of the programmes you mention and they do both fail to transfer to my iPod. But as I said, it's not a bug and it is true. As portable media players (of which iPods are just one type) have evolved, so have the video standards and now some formats simply cannot be played on some devices.
    Good luck.

  • Is it possible to burn a movie in full HD quality?

Is it possible to burn a movie in full HD quality?

    Hi,
I found the solution to this after two days of head scratching and frustration.  Here are some of the things I noticed in my investigation of the problem, and the solution:
iDVD does NOT FULLY/CONSISTENTLY support HD or footage that is imported from FCP X -- when it is rendered you will get reduced quality visuals in your DVD.
Using the "create disk image" option to create your DVD has the same end result.
I found my way to success the following way:
Save your original file from FCP X -- note its file size.  If it's a .MOV file you will need to recreate and save to your hard drive because you will need am mpeg file.  Your original .mov file is now simply a reference.
Use FCP X to create an mpeg version of your footage from its share options.
Once done, note the SIZE of the file -- it should be larger than your original file.
Purchase Toast if you don't have it -- I am not a representative for the company... I just like what works --(or use DVD Studio Pro, if you have it) to create your DVD  ~ DO NOT USE iDVD FOR NEXT STEPS ~
    Toast screen shot below:
In Toast, select Video, HD DVD and name your file.  Note the size of the file in the bottom of the window... it should be the same as the mpeg file... if you notice the file size is smaller (or the same as the original file size) you have a setting wrong.
(Since I used Toast I won't reference DVD Studio Pro here... don't want to make this response longer then needed...).
Once you verify the correct file size, make any other selections/changes you like for your DVD, then burn it.
You should end up with a DVD with the quality you are after.
    Good Luck!

  • Video podcast help.

i everyone, is it possible to put just the audio from a video podcast to say an ipod mini?

Possible... Yes... but not likely. It will depend some what on the file type they are using. You would need digital content editing software, and know how to use it. So you are probably beat.
If you really want to try google for copying the audio track(s) from video files.

  • Video Podcasts Question

Hello all. I'm still a rookie to the MacWorld. Is it possible to view video podcasts in full screen mode using iTunes? I recently subscribed to the MacBreak video podcasts but when I watch it on my iMac G5, all I get is the lower left hand corner viewer without any options to maximize the Now Playing viewer. The podcast loads and plays but all the while on such a tiny sub-screen. At the moment I don't own any of the newer iPods ( I have a 4GB iPod Mini) but I will have one soon (I'm placing my order for the 60GB within the next week along with a MacBook, etc.). Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    carlton267,
    Give this a try.
Select the podcast in iTunes. Now either control-click or right-click and choose Show Song FIle.
This will show you where the podcast is located in the finder. Now double click the file and it will open in QuickTime.
I think because MacBreak is HD. It will only play at a limited sizes in iTunes. Opening it in QuickTime should give you more options.
You can view other video podcasts this way, but you may need to control-click or right-click the files in the finder and then choose Open WIth to makes sure they open in QuickTIme.

  • Burning iTunes videos to DVD-R?

Is this possible? I bought two seasons of a show without enough memory on my PC, so I want to transfer one of the seasons to DVD-R until I get an external hardrive. Any help or other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Did you purchase this from iTunes? If so, you can only burn the video to a disk for back up purposes. You can't burn it to one that can be read by a standard DVD player. If you have a 4 gig nano, you should be able to put the video on it. You may just have to move some other things off for a while.

  • Burning itunes videos to DVD

First off - new to mac, new to forum, primarily use itunes for music. Having said all of that...is it possible to download a video from itunes (or a TV show) and burn a DVD? I was looking into it and can't seem to find any info. Tried it w/itunes and can't get it to "Burn disc". Help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

I'm assuming you want to burn a purchased video to a DVD disc that is watchable in your DVD player. The short answer to this question is, no, it cannot be done.
The DRM that protects the video files you buy from iTMS do not allow this type of burning. You can, however, burn the files to Data disc for backup.
