Is it possible to burn music to thumb drive?
Is it possible to burn music to thumb drive?
Jaywalt,
Adding files to a thumb drive does not require burning, only copying.
The easiest way is to insert the drive into a USB port, highlight the tracks you want in iTunes, and then drag them to the thumb drive.
If you normally run iTunes in full screen mode, make it smaller so that you can do the drag.

Is it possible to burn music folders on to an mp3 cd?
I have 6 music albums that I would like to burn on to a CD as MP3 files, is it possible to burn the 6 albums in 6 folders and not just all the songs. I would like to have the songs from each albums in their seperate folders and not 60 songs from 1-60.
I'm sorry but, in iTunes 11.3 if you burn a disc as an "MP3 CD" it will burn ll the tracks in the playlist in the sequential order they are in the playlist with no MP3 going into separate folders with only the song name and playlist order number as file name. To burn a CD with separate folders for different artists and albums select the disc format as "Data CD or DVD". I have had this problem multiple times and I wanted to share this info since, after I read this thread looking for the answer, I just mistakenly burnt another CD with only the songs without them being in separate folders by artist and album.
Cheers,

My computer shows that I have both a Drive E for CDs and a Drive F for the USB but I cannot figure out how to change the destination when I try to burn to the USB instead of the CD. Does anyone have an answer?
Thanks, ClintsMomma
This question was solved.
View Solution.Hi,
Which software are you using to BURN ? Many software when we say burn they will find a valid optical drive to burn to an optical disc. If you wish to use USB, no need to burn, just copy like normal copy files from one drive to other drive.
Regards.

Why won't my computer burn music onto blank CDs
I am trying to burn music onto my blank CD but a notification will pop up saying "The attempt to burn a disc failed. The device failed to calibrate the lazer power level fo this media." Sometimes it is able to burn music onto the CD though. Any ideas how to fix this?
Try:
- A lens cleaning disc to clean dust off the laser lenses,
- A slower burn speed
- Better quality CDs
- It is also possible your drive is faiiling and will need replacing or you use an external Superdrive. -
Burn music files and a pdf file?
Is it possible to burn some music files and a pdf file on the same CD using iTunes? If not, maybe using some other software?

iTunes can only burn files that are in its library, so forget about PDFs.
Yes it can be done with other programs, using a data (not audio) CD format. -
I am having trouble burning music cds using the burner. The music will initially burn but after listening to the disc I realize the quality becomes poor including lots of skipping, especially towards the end of the disc. I use a standard cd-r and never surpass capacity.
Is there a way to fix this problem or should I send my mac in?

Possible to burn DVDs of videos purchased from iTunes
Is it possible to burn a DVD of the music videos i purchased with iTunes.
I can't stream the audio portion to my airport express, and i want to listen to this version of "City of Blinding Lights" through my nice stereo, not my computer.
Any thoughts shy of running an audio cable from my sound card through a few walls? =)
thanks,
chrisJust to verify I've selected all songs and made sure they shared the same information and I've selected "Get Info" and numbered the tracks in order, so yes, I've done the obvioous stuff.

Using portable thumb drive to transfer music?
I live in an area that does not have high speed internet access (insert redneck joke here). I do, however, have high speed access at my office. I had the brilliant idea to download music at work, and then transfer them via thumbdrive to my library at home. The problem I am having is that by "dragging and dropping" I am only transferring shortcuts rather than the actual file. Am I doing something wrong, or can files not be transfered in this manner?
In the PC world this would just work.... (Oh the irony!)
On a Mac try Command-C to Copy (or Command-X to Cut) the selected files from their original location then Command-V to paste on the thumb drive. I believe you can also use Option-Drag & Drop to get a menu of possible options.

CCan music from my iTunes library be burned/copied to a memory stick/ memory card
On the basis that a picture's worth a thousand words ... arrange your screen so that you can see iTunes and Windows Explorer at the same time.
in iTunes, show the songs that you want to copy
in Windows Explorer, open the thumb drive / memory card that you want to copy to.
Then:
In iTunes, select all the songs that you want to copy. In this example, its everything in a playlist so Ctrl-A on the keyboard will select everything in the playlist.
Hold down the left mouse button and move the pointer to the open Windows Explorer window
Release the mouse button - the songs will now copy
so that you end up with this:
You can do the same thing without having both iTunes and Windows Explorer visible on screen at the same time:
In iTunes, and with the songs selected as before, press Ctrl-A on the keyboard or click the right-hand button on the mouse and select Copy
Switch to Windows Explorer, again with the thumb drive / memory card open
Press Ctrl-V on the keyboard or right-click with the mouse and select Paste -
Is it possible to transfer music/videos from my itunes account to a grandchild (she will need her own account) I bought her music and videos and let her play with my ipod touch. Now she has an ipad.
No you cannot transfer purchases from one account to another account. Apple does not allow it and never has allowed it.
She can use you Apple ID on the device and switch between her ID and your ID, but that can cause problems at times and can become a bit of a pain. -
Is it possible to transfer music between iPhones and iPods with out using iTunes
Is it possible to transfer music between iPhones and iPods with out using iTunes
Nope. Both require iTunes on a computer to sync music from.
Unless the iPod is an iPod Touch and the music was bought from iTunes. In which case the Touch can simply go to the iTunes App, under Purchased and download the purchased songs for free. -
I made several CDs for a friend, but when my friend imported the disc into iTunes none of the track names showed up (it just said "Track 1", "Track 2", etc.) This is annoying because it was 8 CDs worth of music (over 150 songs!)

Is it possible to burn 1 dvd project onto 2 dvd's at the same time?
Is it possible to burn 1 idvd project onto 2 different discs at the same time. i have an external burner so that wont be a problem i am just wondering if it is possible to burn both at the same time
You can't do it out of iDVD.
If you create a disk image file (.img) out of iDVD you MIGHT be able to do so using Roxio's Toast and the .img file.
