Is it possible to calculate paper usage on my new HP Office Jet Pro 8620?

I would like to calculate our paper usage on this new printer.  Is there an easy way to do it?
This question was solved.

The printer's embedded web server (EWS) page will provide information on the pages printed.  To access the EWS simply put the IP address of the printer into your browser.  Select the Tools tab and click on the "usage report" on the left side.

have a office Jet Pro. just bought it. it keep stopping during set up telling me i have a papaer jam. I have not put any papaer in it yet!!! i have taken it apart like the directions. but will not come out of the papaer jam screen. i am very frustrated. if i can not fix this soon, i will return it!!!

Hey there @sbrogers2001 , welcome to the HP Community
I read about your new Officejet 8610 showing a "Paper Jam" error, when there is no paper in the printer. This would be a "false" paper jam, which is troubleshot the same way as a regular jam. Please try the steps from the guide I posted for you below and if the error continues, give us a call as you most likely would need a replacement printer.

  • HP Office Jet Pro 8600 Plus false paper jam message

I am ready to throw this printer out of the window! I am tired of false paper jam messages. The printer will be fine for a few weeks, then...another jam message that may take hours to clear. I have: reset the printer, searched for paper jams, verified the latest firmware, jiggled, and even moved the print cartridge rack to the right (which surprisingly has solved the problem a few times). The only thing I have not tried is an incense purification ceremony. Come on HP, quit telling us to try all the useless procedures. There is a sensor in the machine that is malfunctioning. Fix it! Instead of throwing it out the window, I will put it on the sidewalk and invite passersby to take out their frustration with a hammer. This would make a great video! Additional info: If I am able to run 'align printheads', that frequently fixes the situation. One more bit of evidence that there is some sensor on the blink.  8/28/14: HP support personnel said that the problem I was encountering was most likely due to a faulty sensor.

I bought the 8600 Plus on June 20, 2014; received my first "false paper jam" message yesterday (08/27) after loading Legal size paper and adjusting the paper tray accordingly - and No! I did not mix different size papers in the tray. The Paper Jam message continued; I tried all the steps outlined in the fix it guide offered on the HP website (except those that stated: "press the right arrow, go to settings and print a test page". Why? Because the error message was the only thing on the display! Then I saw all the posts about this same False Paper Jam message and decided to try one step mentioned by an HP user, i.e., load different amounts of paper into the tray. I did that and - what do you know? It began to work but the print cartridge then jammed itself way to the right and began making machine gun type noises so I just shut it down. And, yes! I used the power switch first then disconnected the power cord. My printing use had been very light, there's still @ 85% of ink left in the original cartridges. There are no paper pieces stuck anywhere. There is no lint, dust, or other debris. The printer was never dropped or taken apart. it simply has a major series of flaws. So, what's my next step? STAPLES doesn't want it back, and frankly, I don't want a replacement 8600 that has the same design flaws built into it as this one does. And, apparently, I am not alone...I also don't want to wait for a class action lawsuit to settle this all out 2 years or more from now for pennies on the dollar. I would like to get my full purchase price back, and not have to pay for shipping & insurance to send it back to HP. I must say I have had previous success being the owner of many different HP products, but this 8600 is same Lemon that the Edsel was to Ford (if this is unfamiliar to you, I'm sure you can look it up) Paul Botticelli

  • HP Office Jet Pro 8500 -- Can't print 1x2 poster for 11x17 paper

The menu for poster printing doesn't have a selection for printing a 1x2 poster for joining 8.5x11 paper to a 11x17 poster.
So, how can I set this up manually? HP needs to allow more poster alternatives.

    Hi @Grammacay
    I understand you were unable to scan previously and have resolved that issue, but now suddenly you can not print. Please try the following;
    Reset Printing System
Click the Apple icon (   ), and then click System Preferences.
In the Hardware section, click Print & Fax/Scan. The Print & Fax/Scan  dialog box opens.
Right-click (or  Ctrl  +click) in the left panel, and then click Reset printing system…
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type the correct Name and Password.
Click OK to reset the printing system. The Print & Fax dialog box shows no printer selected
Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol.
    Repair Disk Permissions
On the Dock, click Applications, and then click Utilities.
    Double-click Disk Utility.
Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left (by default this is "Macintosh HD").
Click the Repair Disk Permissions button at the bottom of the window.
Once the repair is complete, restart the computer and download and install the HP Printer Drivers for OS X.
Now when you add the printer, you should have the HP driver to choose, do not select the AirPrint driver.
Select Add other Printer or Scanner
Select the printer you are adding and next to 'Use' you can the printer driver
Please let me know how this works out.
Please click the Thumbs up icon below to thank me for responding.

  • What paper setting for iron on transfer on Office Jet pro 8600

I don't know what paper setting to use for iron on transfers.
I have also noticed compared to my other printers, colors come out faded not vibrant.
BLACK is more of a charcoal!  I'm ready to take this machine back.
I select premium hp photo paper because I want to use most dpi.  It is still faded.
However there is not a listing for "Iron on Transfer" paper.
    HELP!!!!!

    Hi,
This is extracted from page #32 of its manual:
Have both special media (such as transparencies or letterhead) and plain paper loaded in the trays.
+ Load special media in Tray 1 and plain paper in Tray 2.
+ Make sure the default tray is set to Tray 2.
+ Make sure tray lock is set to Tray 1.
    Confusing isn't it !

  • Office Jet Pro 8000 Does Not Recognize Legal Paper

I have an Officejet Pro 8000 and added a second paper tray for legal paper.  I know I'm not doing something simple but can't remember how to get printer preferences to show both letter and legal for available paper.  I chatted with tech support for an hour and still no answer.  Would appreciate any help in getting my printer to recognize legal paper.  When I empty the top tray, it does grab the legal paper.  Thanks!

    OK, good.
Have you gone to: Start, Control Panel, Printers...right click on the printer and selected Printing Preferences?  It should be in there.
Also, when you open a print dialog (by selecting File, Print or cntl-P from any program) you should be able to select which tray it prints from.
If you have been on the phone about this for an hour you have probably done this, but it should really be there.
There is a relatively new software/driver package for XP and your printer here.

  • Is it possible to calculate AR Due Date via OM Order Date ?

    Hi everyone,
Our customer enters Payment Terms at Order Entry (OM).
    Example:
    Order Date : 02.01.2009
Payment Term : 60 Days Net
    Shipment Date : 04.01.2009
    AR- Transaction Date : 04.01.2009
Due Date has been calculated as : 05.03.2009
This means that system considers Transaction Date for calculating Due Date. Is it possible to calculate due date by Order Date ?
    Thanks in advance

  • How do I calculate disk usage for a table

Is there a formula or equation that I can use to calculate disk usage (in MB) for a table?
I would like to foind out what's the best option for initial storage space and monthly growth.

    Hi,
We will discuss this by taking a simple example:
    SQL>Create table T_REGISTRATION (Name varchar2 (100),
    Fathers_Name varchar2 (100),
    Age number(5),
    Sex char (1),
    Data_of_Birth Date)
    storage (initial 40k next 40k minextents 5)
    Tablespace TBS1;
    Table created.
    SQL> insert into T_REGISTRATION values ('Name_1','Name_1_Father',40,'M','24-FEB-66');
    1 row created.
    SQL> Commit;
    Commit complete
    SQL> analyze table T_REGISTRATION compute statistics;
    Table analyzed.
SQL> compute sum of blocks on report
    SQL> break on report
    SQL> select extent_id, bytes, blocks
    from user_extents
    where segment_name = 'T_REGISTRATION'
    and segment_type = 'TABLE';
    EXTENT_ID BYTES BLOCKS
    0 65536 8
    1 65536 8
    2 65536 8
    3 65536 8
    Sum 32
    SQL> clear breaks
    SQL> select blocks, empty_blocks,
    avg_space, num_freelist_blocks
    from user_tables
    where table_name = 'T_REGISTRATION';
    BLOCKS EMPTY_BLOCKS AVG_SPACE NUM_FREELIST_BLOCKS
    5 27 8064 0
    From above:-
    1.     We have 32(Sum) blocks allocated to the table
    2.     27 blocks are totally empty
    3.     5 blocks contains data(BLOCKS+EMPTY_BLOCKS = SUM i.e 5+27=32)
    4.     We have an average of about 8064 bytes = 7.8 free on each block used (8064/1024=7.8K From above AVG_SPACE value).
    Therefore our table
    1.     Consumes 5 blocks
    2.     In this 5blocks * 8k blocksize - 5 blocks * 7.8K free = 1k is used for inserted data.

  • Web JetAdmin page counter/paper usage

I suddenly inherited responsibilities from fired printer administrator and can't figure some really basic thing in WJA - I need to create monthly paper usage per printer report, but can't get necessary data... "Report" function give me bogus numbers. :/ It seems, that fired guy just used "Page Counter" - he noted value at the beggining of the month, and at the end. Not very elegant or sophisticated way of doing this, but whatever get the job done I guess... Anyway, is there a way, to get this sort of data from specific day (start of the month) without scheduled data gathering? I'm short on time, and can't figure this out with WJA manual.
Sorry for my bad english. :/

This seems to be a commercial product. For the best chance at finding a solution I would suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support!

  • Is it possible to get message screens of the Office jet 100 without the full package?

i have a office jet 100 and want to have interaction with my printer (get messages if my cartages empty, no paper, etc), but i don't want to install 800MB of software for a couple of pop-up screens.
I want to know if it is possible to get the following situation:
1 : use the enterprise drivers
2 : use only the interaction features of the Full Feature version.

    Gavin,
It looks like Mohan already answered your specific question, but I can provide a couple general tips on figuring out what DLLs are being used by your application or which DLLs your application is trying to use that are missing.
    1) The reason Dependency Walker didn't show these problem DLLs in your case is because the DLLs you are missing are probably loaded dynamically at run-time instead of linked statically into your application.
    2) Dependency Walker has a lesser-known "profiling" feature that will track DLL dependencies at run-time and create a log of those dependencies. You could profile your application on the system where it is not working to find out what is missing. You can find details here:
    http://www.dependencywalker.com/help/html/application_profiling.htm
    3) The Process Explorer utility from Microsoft can show you the DLLs loaded (statically and dynamically) by a running process. You could run your application on your development system, view the DLL list in Process Explorer, sort the list by Company Name, and see which National Instruments DLLs are being used by your application. Here is a link to Process Explorer:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653
Hopefully that information will be helpful in the future.

Is it possible to upgrade the 10.5.8 OS on  a MacBook Pro with a 2.4 GHz/Intel Core 2 Duo with 2 GB of RAm to the latest OS?

The first step in Upgrading... is to Snow Leopard = OS X 10.6.x
It is Not available as a download... It is a Paid Upgrade.
    Do this first...
Check that your Mac meets the System Requirements for Snow Leopard...
    Snow Leopard Tech Specs
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
If so... Purchase a Snow Leopard Install Disc...
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    Other countries...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
After the Successful Install, run Software Update to get the latest updates for Snow Leopard.
Be sure to make a Backup of your Current System Before Upgrading...
Next... Check that your Mac meets the Requirements for Mountain Lion.
    Upgrade to Mountain Lion
With Regard to ML...  Check here for compatibility of 3rd party Software you may be using... Also note that Rosetta is no longer supported in Lion and Mountain Lion...

You should also consider more RAM... Get the Maximum you can for your Mac...
It is important to get the Correct and Matching RAM
